【ウズベキスタン🇺🇿ひとり旅】世界遺産ヒヴァの街が異世界すぎた【Day3】

There was a window halfway through, which was really scary, but finally I could see the rooftop and the view was amazing! The walled city of Khiva The entire city is a World Heritage Site Continuing from last time My legs were sticking out a little in the middle of the sleeper train from Samarkand to Khiva There was only one thin sheet, and it was cold inside the air-conditioned car The scenery of Urgench near the border with Turkmenistan started to look like a desert The toilet was clean and had a sink I think the table in the booth could be lowered to make a bed, but where would the person sitting opposite me sleep? 帰りました。 English: Our 9-hour train journey is nearing an end After a 9-hour train journey, we have finally arrived in Khiva The entire city of Khiva is registered as a World Heritage Site and I am really looking forward to seeing the beautiful townscape Let’s take the whole day to enjoy it at our own pace Xiva is Uzbek and Khiva is the English translation They both have the same meaning At this point, the townscape of Khiva is amazing The townscape has a sense of unity and is very beautiful Tonight we are staying at Hotel Islambek The door is cool Hmm , maybe there’s no one there There’s no one at the front desk The owner is on a break right now and another staff member will show us around This is what our room will be like today The room is small, but it’s nice to have a bed, a refrigerator and a desk It ‘s a cheap hotel but it even comes with slippers Oh, there’s even a bathtub It ‘s clean and nice overall It’s not big enough to fill with hot water, but it’s nice to have a bathtub and a hairdryer I wasn’t able to take a shower yesterday so I’ll take a short break and then go for a walk around town Water is selling for 4,000 UZS, cheap! Hello, this is Salom. I’m Miroku. Khiva is a walled city. The entire city is a World Heritage Site. Let’s go for a stroll around this World Heritage Site! This town is Ichan Kala. The manhole covers are so cute, and the otherwise ordinary roads look amazing. But it’s so hot outside! It’s a desert, so it’s dry, and the sun is so strong it hurts. The whole town is unified in this style, it’s amazing! I’m so excited, it feels like a different world than I imagined . I can see the minarets in the distance. I’d like to see a lot more today, but I’m hungry, so let’s go to a restaurant. The inner city within the walls is called Ichan Kala, and the outer city outside the walls is called Dishon Kala. I’m currently inside the walls, in Ichan Kala. Entering Ichan Kala is free, but you need an admission ticket to enter the various facilities in the city. You can buy tickets at the western gate. The town itself isn’t that big, so you can explore everything on foot. Are you eating watermelon with your friend? They look like they’re about to spit the seeds out of their mouths. I’m going to this restaurant, which has extremely high Google reviews ! I’ll be there! Wow, it feels great! As expected from a popular restaurant, the place was quite crowded. It’s been a while since I’ve had a can of Coke instead of a plastic bottle . It’s super cold! It’s so hot outside, so I bet Coke tastes good . Wow, it’s the best! The French fries arrived, and they came with tartar sauce, which looks delicious. These are dumplings, or gyoza, apparently. They come with a tomato-based sauce and vegetables. Kapshirma is a regional dish from the Khorezm region of western Uzbekistan, represented by Khiva. In addition to beef and lamb, there seems to be a wide variety of other dishes, including cheese and vegetables. It’s delicious, but it wasn’t the dumpling I imagined. It was like beef wrapped in a crepe. I’d heard it was a gyoza-like dish, but it was more like bread wrapped in dough around meat. The beef was incredibly delicious! The French fries were very sweet, perhaps due to the variety of potato. There seemed to be local desserts as well; I should have tried them… I withdrew cash from the ATM and got a 5,000 UZS bill, which was a huge amount. I feel rich with that stack of bills. I’m ready to head out into this scorching hot city again! 間と一緒にお疲れ様でした。 English: It looks like you’ll arrive at the west gate if you head towards that big blue tower. It looks really big from up close . There seems to be an entrance ticket office at the west gate, but tickets seem to only be sold at the west gate . The city of Ichan Kala looks like this. The city itself isn’t that big, but it seems to have 20 madrasahs and minarets. It was outside the city walls once you exit the gate. It costs 250,000 UZS (3,000 JPY). It seems you can enter all 19 facilities listed on the ticket for two days. Is this big one called the Kalta Minor Minaret? It’s not minor, it’s major in size. It’s pronounced Kalta Minar. It wasn’t minor to begin with, it must be the largest minaret. Here, some old men are chatting…huh? Someone has put a candy in their mouth as a prank. Construction began in 1852, and it was originally planned to be a 109m building, but construction was stopped when it reached 26m. The gate acts as a frame, like a beautiful painting. The view unfolds as you go through, it’s really great! I want to enter Kuhna Ark, but I can’t find the entrance… Let’s go around to the back. It seems like we can get a guide at the entrance , but I went inside and it seems like there’s nothing here other than the remains of a palace? Kuhna Ark is a palace built in the 17th century. In addition to the king’s residence, it also houses a mosque and a mint. There’s nothing here now. There are few tourists and it’s quiet, which is nice. Is this a theater? There really was nothing there. There’s a road over here, so let’s go there anyway. There are no people around, so maybe this is a bad spot? Wow, I’ve found something amazing! Who would have thought there’d be a hidden mosque in a place like this… The mosques in this area are in the Ivan style, and are characterized by a large terrace. I can’t tell what’s written on them. The blue tiles covering the walls and the gold ceiling make it look quite flashy. The intricate decorations are amazing. The pillars alone make it look cool. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a mosque made of wood before. Does anyone know this place? When you enter the entrance, go to the right; it seems like everyone else just goes straight and is done.I paid cash for the entrance fee, so I withdrew some more from the ATM.There ‘s a convenience store so I’ll buy some water; 5,000 UZS is cheap, but what a beautiful hat; although right now it’s getting hot just looking at it.Do they have any spare hats? There are lots of these hats being used as chair covers; I wonder if they’re made of camel hair? I’ve never actually seen one, but they sell a ton of stuffed animal souvenirs. I wonder if everyone is looking for souvenirs like scarves because it’s so hot. My next destination…there’s a really tall minaret! It’s the Juma Mosque. Juma means Friday Mosque, and Friday prayers are held every weekday. There are over 200 pillars spaced 3 meters apart, each with a different carving. It’s one of the most famous mosques in Central Asia. It was built in the 10th century and apparently took on its current form at the end of the 18th century. The 10th century is 1,000 years ago…amazing! Only the bottom is made of stone, but the building above is supported by wood. I guess we’re just here to look at these pillars. At the very back, there’s a display that looks like a copy of the Quran. I’ve regained some strength in the shade, so let’s go next. I got lost, but I’ve found a great place! It’s pretty big when you see it in front of you. I heard there are people climbing it, so let’s go inside. The view from the top must be amazing. Even if they say you can climb it, can you really? I wonder if I’m physically strong enough to climb it… Let’s go for now. I just tried to go in, but it seems that this is a paid facility. It seems that there are about three places that you can’t enter with the 100,000 UZS (1,200 JPY) combined ticket . I hit my head, and even the sound hurts… The width is narrow, the ceiling is low, and the steps are large. There are 118 very narrow spiral steps. There’s a window halfway up, and light is streaming in! From here on, there are windows and it’s bright, but the stairs are quite steep and dangerous. If I fall, it’s over. Lida, if I fall, it’s over. Finally… GOAL🥳 The view is amazing! It’s the tallest building in the city of Khiva. Nothing obstructs the view . Wow, it’s great. It’s extremely difficult, but it’s worth the climb. Coming down is also difficult (lol). The breeze coming in through a tiny opening the size of an outstretched hand feels great. I’ve had enough… Let’s go into a cafe. They should have iced coffee . Good evening. I’m so thirsty, I ordered a 1L Coke. I care too much about the name on the label. I’m so thirsty I feel like I’m going to dry out… 1L might not be enough. Cheers! Ah, it’s so hot today, it seems the temperature is 40°C. The temperature is amazing, but the humidity is also 20%. I’ve never seen numbers like that. They’re wearing the hot-looking hats they sold in the store earlier. There are people playing instruments, people dancing, and people just making funny faces. The streets really do look like something out of a game, it really feels like Dragon Quest. We’ve arrived at our next destination; I can’t read the name of the building. Toshhovli Palace , a luxurious palace built in the 1830s. There’s also an Ivan-style mosque here. In front of the mosque is a harem (room) where the Khan’s (king’s) four legal wives lived. Apart from this room, there are no beautiful tiles and it’s simple. The view from here really makes you realize that you’re surrounded by walls. Oh… there’s an entrance here too. I think it’s the same building as before, but let’s stop by anyway. Well … it’s about the same, isn’t it? Cannonball Delts! The sun sets around 8 PM, and the days are really long. Apparently, you can take some great sunset photos around 7 PM. I took a quick break . It’s starting to look like a sunset, and the scorching heat from earlier has subsided . It’s a little hot, but it’s comfortable . This isn’t related to the sunset, but isn’t that minaret leaning a little? It looks like it’s leaning a little to the right. The minaret, backlit by the setting sun, seems like a popular photo spot. Oh, there are camels ! Look at the camels! ” Hello, if you want to talk, you have to pay. ” It seems like there’s a fee to pet them, so I was chased away (lol). The view would be great if I climbed the minaret, but it’s small, so it’s probably crowded with people. Maybe it looks better in photos. Finally, I found a bottled Coke! I asked the restaurant to let me get a takeout Coke. It was 20,000 UZS (240 JPY). This might be the first time I’ve seen a bottled Coke in this country. Bottled Coke is the best! The night is getting exciting. Is this a traditional dance? I don’t really get it, but it looks fun! 🥳 It’s still light outside, but it’s 8 PM, so I’ll head to a restaurant. I don’t know the name, but let’s go in. Since I’m here, let’s enjoy a meal while looking at the night view. This restaurant is called Khorezm Art . Khorezm is a historical region and civilization spanning western Uzbekistan and northern Turkmenistan. It was a major power in Central Asia between the 11th and 13th centuries. It was also one of the centers of learning in the medieval Islamic world. I often take photos of menus and translate them using CatGPT. If you look closely, you’ll see that the English menu is on the right. Apparently, the city of Khiva lights up like this at 8 PM. I drank a lot of Coke today, so I’ll refresh myself with water in the evening. The fried chicken is different from what I expected. It doesn’t taste very fried, but it’s okay. [Foreign Food Common 1] The fried food isn’t crispy. [Foreign Food Common 2] The salt was so strong that swelling the next day was inevitable. The fried chicken was different from what I expected, but the meat was easy to separate and seemed tender. Well, it did feel like cooked chicken, and that’s all. I ordered one more. Tuxum = egg, Barak = small packaged dish. A traditional dish from the Khorezm region. Is this kalık mayonnaise? Is it like boiled dumplings with a fried egg inside? 間と一緒に おいしいお野菜です。 English: The taste is light. The dumpling skins have a boiled egg in them and taste like yogurt. The taste is so mild that it’s hard to eat eight of them… The madrasah is lit up at night. I’m a little bothered by the asymmetrical layout, but it’s lit up beautifully. The lights are all different colours, and some are flickering in one place, so the loose management is nice. It’s stylish, but it no longer feels like a madrasah. The lit-up townscape is even more beautiful. At night, this town feels like the town of Assalam (the town in the famous game). It really does feel like a game world . It’s amazing, it feels like the number of people increases at night. No one wants to walk outside in the heat of the day. It’s a really unreal scene, like a theme park somewhere. But this is a real town, the town of Khiva in Uzbekistan. I tried to enter this Madrasah of Muhammad Amin Inaq during the day but couldn’t. There are some exhibits inside. I wonder if they are displaying exhibits related to scholars? Oh, maybe a staff member? I want to go in too! The daytime was nice, but I prefer the night. I think this kind of subdued light is nicer than the blue or green lights. It’s gotten quite cool outside, so let’s take a walk a little longer. This street is my favorite. Wow, this place is amazing too. The illuminated minarets have gone out, so I wonder if it’s almost over? It’s 9:30 PM now, and it’s already pitch black. Today I took the night train from Samarkand to the desert town of Khiva. Tomorrow, I’ll start a tour to see Turkmenistan’s Gate of Hell. Xayrli tun (good night) Ertaga (see you tomorrow). The center of town was lit up and bright, but this is what it looks like a little further away. Isn’t the difference too great? Next time: Solo trip to Turkmenistan🇹🇲Day 1 & 2Entering Turkmenistan🇹🇲!! In a shaking car, they speed through the desert and finally arrive at the gates of hell, where they meet cute friends at the dinner venue . Please like👍 and subscribe to our channel!
