【モルディブ旅行】 夫婦二人で水上ヴィラとビーチヴィラの両方を満喫する旅【アンサナ ヴィラヴァル】

Maldives Seaplane Terminal From the airport to the resort island,
you take either a boat or a seaplane depending on the distance. To get to Angsana Velavaru where we are staying this time,
we are traveling by seaplane. It’s rocking because it’s a floating pier. The seaplane is a shared ride with passengers for other resorts. A round trip on the seaplane costs about $500 per person. We sat in the very back seats. It’s pretty cramped. There is no AC, so it’s hot when we aren’t flying. On our last trip to the Maldives,
we sat in the very front for both the outbound and return flights. The hatch is closed, time for departure. We have liftoff! The cityscape of Hulhumale. There are surprisingly many high-rise buildings standing there. Great view! My wife is enjoying the scenery too. But she fell asleep immediately. About 45 minutes after departure, our resort came into view. We’ll be landing soon. The lagoon is beautiful. Successful water landing. Getting off at the offshore floating pier. It’s rocking quite a bit. We wait here for the resort’s transfer boat. The boat arrived right away. I’m the very first one to board. Angsana Velavaru has Beach Villas on the island
and Water Villas located offshore, away from the island. Unlike water villas at other resorts,
they aren’t connected to the island by a jetty, so you travel by boat. For this trip, we will stay 3 nights in a Water Villa,
followed by 2 nights in a Beach Villa. Check-in for the Water Villas is at the overwater restaurant, Azzurro. The ocean view is the best. First, taking a breather with a welcome drink. The welcome drink is sour. It comes with something like dried tuna
and a coconut-flavored ball-shaped snack. Check-in is done, so finally, we are being shown to our Water Villa. The latitude is different from Fulhadhoo Island,
so maybe the temperature is slightly different too. The sea is beautiful. We had requested the sunset side,
but we were assigned a sunrise side villa for the first day. We moved rooms the next day
and were able to stay in a room on the sunset side. Of course, there is a bathtub and shower. Hair dryer and insect repellent spray. The amenities are all fully stocked. This villa also has a rooftop. Looking from above, the blue of the sea stands out even more. If the wife sits in the pool
and I take a picture from the roof, you get a great shot. It’s a little embarrassing though. It looks like we’ll be able to see the sunrise well from the roof. There’s a coffee machine too. There are two bottles of water provided,
but if you ask, they will bring more. Tea and instant coffee are free,
but other items in the minibar require an extra charge with our Half Board plan. Heading to the resort island from the Water Villa jetty. A free ferry shuttles back and forth between the Water Villa jetty and the island. Arrived at the island in about 5 minutes. The island has a stronger resort vibe than the Water Villas. We came to the island to rent snorkeling gear
at the Dive Center. Found the Dive Center. To rent masks and such at this resort,
you have to take a simple (?) test. The test checks if you can use snorkeling gear properly. You have to put on a mask while treading water… …and swim while holding the snorkel in your mouth. However, since it’s done where you can’t touch the bottom,
you might hesitate if you have absolutely no experience. Just in case,
the staff brings a lifebuoy for emergencies. I almost forgot to take off my mic. It looks pretty deep. Put on the mask and hold the snorkel. Checking if I can breathe. Swimming towards the beach. I passed. You can’t walk forward while wearing fins. It’s safer to take the fins off. The test ended without issues. My wife has snorkeling experience, so she looks confident. I wonder if anyone actually fails. Heading back to the Water Villa. By the way, since I brought my own snorkeling gear,
I didn’t actually need to take the test. Water Villa rooftop. Enjoying the sunset while drinking coffee. Cheers with coffee? I often wear my clothes inside out. “Fulhadhoo” is the local island we stayed at
before coming to this resort. Surprisingly few people are watching the sunset from their villas. My wife is a peeping tom. Hand washing the laundry. Because the laundry service is expensive. Resorts cost quite a lot of money beyond just the room rate. The silhouette of the Water Villas
enhances the beauty of the sunset. Beautiful. Unlike the local island,
the Adhan (call to prayer) doesn’t play on the resort island. The bright red tropical sunset
sank beyond the ocean. Heading to the restaurant for dinner. The jetty for the Water Villas is surprisingly large. The night illumination of the villas is magical. While staying at the Water Villas,
we basically eat at the overwater restaurant, Azzurro. Dinner at Azzurro is a course meal. You choose 3 dishes: Appetizer, Main, and Dessert. What I’m eating now
is a little snack served before the appetizer. I chose lobster soup for my appetizer. The rich lobster flavor makes it delicious. My wife chose the octopus dish. Neither of us likes olives very much. Wait, it’s a potato? Not an olive? We both chose beef steak for the main course. Looks so good I’m drooling. Honestly, the beef steak wasn’t that great. It was dry and sucked all the moisture out of my mouth. It seems better to choose seafood dishes at Azzurro. I’ll choose seafood for the main course from tomorrow on. Dessert. My wife dislikes coconut too. It said coconut,
but it seems vanilla ice cream came instead. Or maybe my wife’s taste buds are just dull. That was a good meal. Came to the roof early in the morning to see the sunrise. The laundry hung yesterday is dry. There are people watching the sunrise on the island beach too. The moon is still out too. The sun is coming up. Today is going to be another good day. Heading to the overwater restaurant Azzurro
to eat breakfast. It’s breakfast time for the fish too. Breakfast is a buffet,
but coffee and egg dishes are made to order. I mistook a latte for a cappuccino… Guests who just arrived are disembarking from the seaplane right now. Since it’s a buffet, we can eat until we’re full. Watermelon juice. For the egg dish,
we both chose Eggs Benedict. On our last day on Fulhadhoo Island,
my wife was stung on the finger by a bee and it’s still swollen. She was stung two days ago,
but it seems it’s still itchy and painful. Finally, dessert. Today we are changing rooms from the sunrise side
to a sunset side Water Villa. It seems I’ll finish with orange juice. We finished packing,
so we are joining a snorkeling tour. At this resort,
a free snorkeling tour is held every morning. They take you by boat to the drop-off (underwater cliff) around the resort. Of course, there is a guide who shows you around underwater. There are too many people so there aren’t many places to sit. The boat goes outside the reef
and passes in front of the Water Villas. I bought an underwater housing for my camera for snorkeling,
but I forgot it at home so there is no underwater footage… The visibility was high and the coral was nice.
However, some coral was bleached or dead. Starting the day after next, I got footage taken that day from the guide,
so I can show you underwater scenes then. It was so good I couldn’t believe it was free,
so please join if you stay at this resort. After snorkeling,
we came to the pool side on the island. The beach in front of this pool is the most beautiful on this island. Applying sunscreen in a way that shows
a strong will not to get tan at all costs. We couldn’t meet any sea turtles today. The name of this island, “Velavaru,” apparently means “Turtle Island.” Tropical palm trees. As expected, she really doesn’t want to get a sunburn. An outfit unsuitable for a resort.
Like a suspicious person. Totally a suspicious person. Moving to a sofa in the shade. The ocean view is magnificent too. Going for a little walk. Beautiful beach. Pure white sand. Offshore, you can see the Water Villas where we are staying. Since they aren’t connected to the island by a jetty,
it’s quiet and has a strong private feel. When I came back from the walk,
my wife was asleep. My wife woke up,
so we are heading back to the Water Villa. It was just the departure time for the ferry to the Water Villas. Beach Villa umbrellas and beach beds are lined up. Traveling by ferry is also
a bit of an activity. Arrived at the Water Villa jetty. It’s time for the move to the sunset villa to be complete,
so going to reception to pick up the key. The new villa is room 319. It’s quite close to the original villa. The contents of the room are exactly the same. Though the layout is the exact opposite of the previous room. Since the drop-off is right in front,
the sunset side seems easier to access for snorkeling. Since we are staying on a Half Board plan,
only breakfast and dinner are included. For lunch, instead of the resort restaurant,
we survive on instant food we brought from Japan. A spectacular view & Chicken Ramen… the best! Entering from the Water Villa
to snorkel at the drop-off. Enjoying snorkeling together. Dusk.
Relaxing on the rooftop is unbearable (in a good way). About an hour until sunset. Seaplanes cannot fly at night. What looks to be the last flight of the day is landing. The sun has set,
and the sky has turned a bit fiery. People often think sunset viewing ends when the sun goes down,
but… It’s most beautiful after the sky starts to burn red. The crimson sky
and the silhouette of the villa are just perfect. The sun has set and we’re hungry,
so heading to Azzurro for dinner. To a window seat. My appetizer is Wagyu beef tartare. My wife got seared scallops. My wife’s face shows if something is delicious or bad. This is her “yummy” face. Apparently, she doesn’t know what flavor the sauce is. The Wagyu tartare was tasty too. For the main course, both of us got seared tuna steak. I ate it too,
and it was simply delicious. I think my wife’s taste buds are just a bit dull. My wife’s dessert is a fruit platter. I don’t know the name,
but it’s a fruit you eat by crunching on small seeds. The kiwi is sour. Her face when it’s truly delicious. Her expressions are too easy to read. Seems the melon was really tasty. Again, the fruit with crunchy seeds. Really, her expressions are too extreme. When she eats delicious pineapple, she makes this face. She’s waiting to make me dispose of the ones she doesn’t like. This fruit with green skin and white flesh… …that you eat crunching on small seeds.
If anyone knows the name, please let us know in the comments. Beautiful morning glow before sunrise. The morning sun became visible between the clouds. Heading to Azzurro to eat breakfast. My directionally challenged wife goes right
even though the restaurant is to the left (this is the 3rd time). It’s a rather cloudy day today. Depending on the time you go to breakfast, Azzurro’s crowdedness changes. To a window seat this morning too. When I came back with the buffet food,
the coffee arrived at the same time. A cute cat is drawn on the cappuccino. In Maldivian, “Shukuriya” means “Thank you.”
“Maruhaba” is “You’re welcome.” … A big breakfast from the morning again today. The buffet content changes slightly every morning so you don’t get bored. Today too, finishing breakfast with fruit. Looks like she really likes it. It was a delicious meal. The sky that was cloudy gradually cleared up. There was a rather large shark. It has a remora attached to its back. It certainly looks like a large sea turtle. Trying to walk along the jetty. The villas around here
are Deluxe Villas, one grade above ours. The three villas at the southern tip of the jetty
are the most expensive Two-Bedroom Villas at this resort. The Two-Bedroom Villas
are located where the ocean view is the best. They made the Angsana brand logo out of coral,
but the coral has died and the shape has collapsed. The view from the southern-end room
has the lagoon spreading out in all directions. Our room costs about $1,000 (¥150,000) per night. Went to the end of the jetty and came back to our villa. My wife ringing the doorbell unnecessarily. My favorite thing about the Water Villa is that when you enter,
the beautiful sea spreads out through the window. The view from the rooftop is even more beautiful and open. Joining the free snorkeling tour today as well. Got it right this time despite some confusion. Seaplanes, usually rare,
are seen many times all over the place at resorts in the Maldives. Successful takeoff. Gone far away in the blink of an eye. Shortly after watching the seaplane take off,
the snorkeling tour boat arrived. The free snorkeling tour is super popular again today,
and the boat is full of people. It’s crowded inside, so we came up to the roof. Great view and feels good. Water Villa. This tour guides us through 3 spots along the drop-off
on the west side of the resort on a rotating daily basis. First, the guide enters to check the current,
then guests enter. Today, we enter here
and it seems to be a course proceeding to the left. Since there are many people,
entry also takes time. No turtle appeared today either,
but we enjoyed snorkeling immensely. After snorkeling,
chilling in the room pool while gazing at the superb view. Chilling together. My fin sank in the pool
so my wife is trying to get it. So close. Diving down is difficult. Successfully retrieved. Chilling while watching the ocean. Snorkeling for the second time today, just the two of us. There are 3 markers along the drop-off
indicating where to exit outside the reef. Go outside the reef from a marker,
snorkel along the drop-off… …and once you reach another marker,
come back inside the lagoon. That’s the course. Off to snorkel. Swimming towards the stake that marks the entrance/exit to the drop-off. We enjoyed snorkeling plenty. Safely returned to the villa. Chilling on the rooftop at dusk
with snacks brought from Japan and coffee. The wasabi flavored Kaki-no-tane is spicier than I expected. Seaplane again. Seaplane takeoff. The sunset cruise boat operated by the resort. The seaplane that took off a moment ago is circling. It has sunk quite a bit. Sunset. The sky has started to burn red. Magic Hour. Unexpected power outage at the resort. When we went outside to go eat dinner at Azzurro,
the power was restored. Tonight is the last night in the Water Villa.
From tomorrow, we stay in a Beach Villa on the island. Since meals at Azzurro cost extra for Beach Villa guests,
this is our last dinner here. We took a window seat in the back. Looking forward to the island restaurant too. Appetizer. Ordered salmon salad, but prawns arrived. The wrong dish was brought out. These prawns seem to be a dish called “Summer Salad.” Maybe the staff misheard “Salmon” as “Summer.”
Our pronunciation is bad so it can’t be helped. I chose the Tuna and Avocado appetizer. My main is Seared Tuna. My wife got Seafood Pasta. Surprisingly lightly seasoned. For dessert, we both got sherbet. Because my wife hates coconut. Finished it all.
That was a good meal. Searching for sharks on the way back to the villa. No sharks. She seems done with sharks. The illuminated Water Villas are beautiful too. ♪Fish Heaven – Sung by: Wife Arrived back at the villa. Watching fish attracted to the villa’s lights. She was watching yesterday too. Wife watching fish on her hands and knees. Yesterday, two seemingly male fish
were fighting over a seemingly female fish. The strategy is to cross to the island on the first boat
and secure beach beds at the main pool. There is a time gap between the Water Villa checkout
and the Beach Villa check-in. Heading out to secure beach beds to spend that time. The first boat is quite small. It’s faster than the usual boat. Arrived at the island. Aiming for the main pool. There’s no one at the pool. Secured the spot that looks best. Enjoying the view for a moment. The staff is cleaning from early in the morning. Music started playing and the main pool opened. The mission to secure beach beds is complete,
so returning to the Water Villa. Last breakfast at Azzurro. A meal while gazing at the beautiful ocean. It was a good meal. Enjoying the last pool dip at the Water Villa. Checked out of the Water Villa
and crossing to the island by boat. After leaving unnecessary hand luggage on the secured beach beds,
we join the daily free snorkeling tour. Rooftop of the snorkeling tour boat. Maybe because there are many participants today,
there is a briefing on the rooftop too. Seaplane. Seeing it from a boat gives it a different kind of impact. Arrived at the point.
Snorkeling start. Small children are participating too. Got the guide’s GoPro footage today. On the third day of snorkeling tours, a sea turtle finally appeared. A type of turtle called Hawksbill. This guy with orange fins is me. Surrounded by humans… poor turtle. Maybe because there were so many people, the turtle dove deep. Snorkeling finished, returning to the island. Returned to the island. Relaxing on the beach bed at the island’s main pool. Checked into the Beach Villa. A beautiful beach spreads out in front of the pool. So, going to the beach. My wife is napping. Insanely beautiful. The gradation of blue shades
due to the difference in depth is beautiful. Returning to the Beach Villa. This building seems to be a facility for weddings. Island Reception. Spa and souvenir shop. There is also a fire facility just in case of a fire. One of the resort’s free activities
is feeding the parrots kept by the resort. Usually, they roam free. We fed the parrots on the last day,
but all the video data from the last day disappeared. Our stay on the island is in Room 143,
“Deluxe Beach Villa.” The scenery inside the island looks similar everywhere
so we get lost frequently. The plants growing are the same,
so the atmosphere is similar to a local island. Got a little lost,
but made it back to the room safely. After a brief stay upon returning,
we head straight to the snorkeling spot on the island. After relaxing in the pool for a bit,
we enjoyed snorkeling. The Deluxe Beach Villa
has a pool within the building. I didn’t feel much appeal for a room with a pool,
but I realized it’s surprisingly nice. It’s about the same size as the pool at the Water Villa. Filming the room before it gets messy.
(It’s already a little messy though). In front of the villa, there is a small private space
and beach beds. Apparently called a “Sala Thai”. Beyond that is the beach, and the sea. When the sun is high, the beach here is also blue and beautiful. Sink behind the bed. There is a shower and toilet outside. We didn’t use this shower at all. Going to the beach to see the sunset. Our villa is directly behind the reception area. To see the sunset on the reception side,
we go halfway around the island along the beach. When snorkeling at the island,
there was a school of Oriental Sweetlips. In diving and snorkeling,
I like watching schools of fish. Few clouds, looks like we’ll see a beautiful sunset. Middle-aged ramblings. Wife singing a mysterious song, her specialty. According to my wife, there are no hermit crabs because there are no shells. And wife singing a mysterious song again. Decided to watch the sunset here. The sunset might be prettier seen from the island. The sun has gone down quite a bit. Our life these past few days
is just repeat of eating, swimming, and sleeping. The sky is burning beautifully red. This boat keeps trying to dock,
but it’s not going very well. The silhouette of the Water Villas offshore is beautiful. A stingray appeared at our feet. The first star appeared,
and the sunset was gradually swallowed by darkness. The island’s main restaurant, “Kaani Restaurant”. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet style.
Dinner features a menu based on a theme decided for each day. Today’s theme is “Asian Night.” Secured a seat, so going to get food. I love sashimi so I took a huge amount. Let’s eat. Since dinner at Azzurro was a course meal,
this is our first buffet dinner at this resort. It’s a buffet so eating until I’m stuffed. Took a huge amount of dessert too. Everything was delicious, and of course, I ate it all.
It was a great meal. Rain heavy enough to tell from inside the room fell during the night. Going out to the beach to see the sunrise. Lots of clouds, doesn’t look like we’ll see the sunrise. Giving up on the sunrise, heading back to the room to sleep again. Woke up from the second sleep,
so going to eat breakfast. Breakfast is at “Kaani Restaurant” just like dinner yesterday. The ocean is beautiful as always today. Sitting in a seat with a good view of that ocean. They baked a Doraemon pancake.
That pancake corner was super popular with the kids. Finished the first buffet plate in a flash,
immediately onto the second plate. A little grotesque. Torso split right in two. Everything was tasty.
Thanks for the meal. Returned to the room and there was a dog made of towels.
Cute. Probably the cleaning staff made it. Joining the free snorkeling tour today too. It is certainly hot,
but totally better compared to midsummer in Japan. In Dhivehi language, “Kihineh” means “How are you?”
“Barabaru” means “Good/I’m fine.” Boarding the boat. Decided to go to the roof deck of the boat today too. There are so many people today
that we are going with two boats. Want to see a turtle today too. Seaplanes take off and land so frequently,
it’s not rare at all. But I end up filming whenever there is a seaplane anyway. The next time I ride a seaplane is the day we return to Japan from the Maldives.
So I don’t want to ride it. The view and the wind feel great. The roof deck feels many times better than inside the boat. Arrived at the point. Wife, entry. A sea turtle appeared today too. It’s hard to tell in the video,
but there is a sea turtle around there. After snorkeling, relaxing at the pool. When we got back to the room,
there was a hermit crab in the room pool. This hermit crab looks like it won’t be able to get to the beach on its own,
so taking it to the beach. The hermit crab came out many times,
and my wife got scared and dropped it many times. We’re getting nowhere so I’ll take over. Going to buy souvenirs. The Maldives is such a paradise
that spending a few days here makes you a useless human being. The gallery where souvenirs are sold. Angsana patterned eco-bag. Playing cards. Incense. Snow globe. Magnets.
Whenever we travel we always buy at least one magnet. Instead of the same magnets sold at the airport,
we want this resort’s magnet since we are here. Found this resort’s magnet. Bought one. They sell condoms too. My wife wants to buy body cream and shampoo too. Seems she likes the peach scent. Wife hesitating on buying while applying the tester. Ended up buying it. My wife loves the “Buy One Get One Free” system. Went back to the room once, now going to see the sunset again today. Found a hermit crab. Couple singing a mysterious song. Beautiful sunset. Hermit crab came out. It hid when we started singing. Tomorrow is the day we return to Japan. We filmed the return day too,
but since the data disappeared, the Maldives trip video ends here. See you in the next travel video.
