Walking in Inuyama at Night: From Inagi Kaidō to the Illuminated Castle

I’m on a journey toward Osaka, passing through various towns before eventually returning to Tokyo.

After leaving Gifu Prefecture, I crossed the Kiso River and arrived in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. The city is famous for Inuyama Castle, a National Treasure and the oldest surviving castle keep in Japan. This time, I visited because I wanted to walk along the Inagi Kaidō, the historic road that leads to the castle.

During the day, the area is lively with tourists, but at night the shops close and the street becomes calm and quiet. In contrast, the castle is beautifully illuminated after dark, creating a wonderful nighttime atmosphere.
