【中国ヤバい】緊張感高まる日中対立状況下で日本人が現在中国へ渡航したらどうなのか?最新情報と真実をお見せします。習近平が大激怒で日本制裁。

Thank you for using Legend again today. In November 2025, Japan and China entered a state of political tension. The so-called Gao Yi-Yuji incident gradually escalated due to various speculations and differences in interpretation of the situation , leading the Chinese government to intimidate Japan and impose unilateral, politically charged sanctions . It is true that China has been criticized by the international community for its limited sanctions against Japanese people , creating a major global issue. Opinions on this issue are divided based on viewers’ positions and ideologies, so this video does not seek a conclusion on the matter. Rather, I believe there is a difference between the general trend of increased travel and business travel, and whether this is actually the case, as reported by the internet and traditional media. In this video, I took a sudden trip to China and shared my firsthand experience of seeing the current situation of Chinese tourists at Japanese airports, the latest immigration information, the local atmosphere, and the activities of Japanese companies . My destination this time was Shanghai, and the airline I flew with was Air China. This video is purely a personal summary of my impressions and real-life experiences. I believe it’s natural to travel at your own risk and avoid multiple seats. The situation changes daily, so it may be different by the time this video is uploaded, but please watch until the end. Don’t forget your ball. So, I’ve arrived at Centrair. As I explained, I’m now off to China. I’m sure most of you who follow the media and news reports know this. I’m sure Japan is abuzz with this topic right now , and the atmosphere between Japan and China is quite tense. There’s a lot of one-sided coverage about China, and I think they’re telling Chinese people not to travel to Japan anymore. I wonder if that’s actually true. I’m heading to Shanghai airport soon, and I’ll be the first to check in. Are the Chinese people still coming, or have they decreased? Also , there are many Nikkei companies in Shanghai. There are areas where Japanese people congregate, so I’d like to share what it’s like there in this video. SuChannel is releasing a book . It’s scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. Pre-orders are currently being accepted on Amazon. Please scan this QR code to reserve. I’m heading to Shanghai after checking in with Air China. I wonder how the Chinese people are doing? They seem to be pretty normal. I’m going to the check-in counter now. Looking at Japanese news reports, I get the impression that many Japanese people visiting Japan, especially Chinese people, say they’re not worried at all . I wonder if the number is actually decreasing. It’s November 20th, and starting today, various restrictions and rule changes have been implemented. You can now apply for entry into China online, and for Japanese people, the Ha-Fai Law has been strengthened. I’m going there in the middle of all this. Also, there’s talk of canceling the Noza entry policy for Japanese people , so it’s still okay for today. You can enter through Noza. That may change in the future. By the time this video is released, things won’t have changed much, and there will be a normal number of Chinese tourists . There were even some groups. If you go to the check-in counter now, you’ll see what I mean. This is the Air China check-in counter. There ‘s no one in line. I think they usually already have a line. There’s zero. Yes, check-in opens in 20 minutes, but it looks like this. Usually, Chinese people leave in 30 minutes and line up from about an hour before departure, but there’s no line. I just asked a staff member how many people will be boarding today, and they say it’s full. Yes. Why haven’t they arrived yet? It’s full, and the Chinese people… Oh, I’m a little surprised because it seems like most of the passengers from Nagoya this time were Chinese. I thought it was a joke, but it’s just that they haven’t arrived yet. However, they said there were quite a few empty seats for arriving passengers . The number of people arriving will decrease, but it seems like there are people already traveling, or people in Japan returning to China. By the way, check-in has already begun at counter B, China Eastern Airlines, which I often use . It’s completely empty. It’s amazing. There’s always a line here, too. The line stretches all the way here early, and it’s huge. The flights here have already started. I wonder if the Shanghai flight leaves around 10:00? Yeah. There’s no one there. It was quite shocking. Yeah. But you know, I said the Shang Ruins in Rare China was fully booked, so I’d like to believe that the one departing from Nagoya this time just hasn’t arrived, that they’re not in line yet. And there are also people on that Chinese group tour, like this one. Yes. These are the Chinese group tours. There are a lot of people, but it seems like there aren’t many. About 10 minutes later, customers started lining up, but there aren’t many. Still. Well, they said it was fully booked, so today, as for B, which is heading to Shanghai, Air China definitely feels different than usual . I’m curious to know how many people will be coming here . They said it’s going to be a smaller flight, but I’m going to check in now. So, I’ve finished checking in with Air China. I think a lot of Japanese people are worried right now about whether they’ll be able to enter the country, and they’re worried that they’ll be told something irregular like they can’t enter the country . So, honestly, when I checked in, I asked the staff member at AN, who is in charge of Air China, and they told me there were absolutely no problems . Well, then, the reason was, well, they said there was absolutely no problem, but then I asked why, and I was told that, as Air China, the Chinese authorities had inquired about whether there would be any problems with Japanese nationals entering the country. It seems that there had been some discussion about this, and the Chinese side said there were absolutely no problems. At this point, I’ve heard that there are absolutely no problems with Japanese nationals entering the country, and furthermore, visa-free entry is being properly applied today, so it’s fine, they said, with all their heart . So, it’s probably fine. I think there’s a lot of political back and forth going on, so I’m still pretty nervous. For a normal person, would it be okay to go at a time like this? The airline said it was fine . Yes. Anyway, I’ve just finished checking in and got my lounge ticket. So, are there still quite a few people lining up? Can you see? They’re starting to line up. Yes. Well, as I’ve said many times today, it looks like it’s full. Anyway, I’m a little hungry before I leave, so I’ll go get something to eat at PP. Well, I could go to the lounge, though. Oh, and this time I’m in business class. Yes. I got about 35,000 yen for business class . To Shanghai. Okay, I’m heading out now. The udon was really good. I’m warmed up. Anyway, I’m leaving now. Security and immigration are over. I’m in business. Zero traffic. Centrair is probably the fastest in Japan. Because it’s not crowded . There’s always this, uh, face-to-face shop around here. I feel like there are a lot of Chinese people , but somehow there aren’t many. I always have the impression that there are a lot of people around here. Anyway, I’m heading to the lounge. Air China has designated this Plaza Premium Lounge. Well, I can get in with PP. So I went in. The lounge is pretty decent, isn’t it? Ah, but it seems to be pretty empty. I just had udon, but now I’ve been given a small bowl of soba and tofu. This is my first time flying business class on Air China from Centrair. I wonder how many colors are on board. I’m eating a bit too much right now. I haven’t had breakfast or lunch before, so I’ll just go with it. We’re just about to return. This Air China plane has arrived. I’m watching it from the lounge now . Yes, I’ll board this one. When I was checking in earlier, the staff member said, ” The flight from Nagoya to Shanghai is full, but there are quite a few empty seats on the flight from China today.” That’s what ‘s affecting me, so I wonder how many people are getting off. I think this is the one from Beijing or Shanghai. I think the business class passengers are getting off now , and judging by this, it looks like there are quite a few people on board. Well, maybe it’s because they said there aren’t many. Of course, there are Japanese people on business trips, and the reports have been saying that there simply isn’t a significant decrease in the number of Chinese people who are able to travel, so I guess that’s what’s happening . A normal number of people are getting off. The plane will depart soon. Let’s head to the gate. Now, I’m waiting for the flight to Shanghai, and it looks like this. There aren’t that many people. I’m tired. Hello. So, I’m the first to appear. It’s completely normal. It’s the same as before. Well, I’ve flown between Centrair and Shanghai many times, so I don’t need to explain it on a flight like that. I think there are a lot of people who want to know the extent of the impact of China’s countermeasures on Japan , so I’m going to be the guinea pig and provide practical information . Of course, I’ll also be including some shots of Shanghai in this video. It’s about a two-hour flight, so let’s get on board. So, I boarded the plane. The business class seat is a fairly old-fashioned one, one of only four, but I was given a suri, a blanket, and a cushion. There’s already water on the table. I think this is Tibetan water. So far, Mr. C has been polite and courteous. And I just got a massage . Everything’s normal. When I checked in, I was asked about the current situation for Japanese people entering the country, and they said it was completely normal, so I was like, “No problem ,” but I’m thinking there might be a lot more going on when you leave the country. Yeah. I don’t think they’ll ask you to show them the contents of your smartphone or anything like that when you enter the country. There’s no bill inspection, after all. I guess it depends on what the city is like. So, orange champagne omiku juice. Oh, orange juice. Please. Orange. And starting November 20th, China’s arrival cards for entry became available online . Currently, you can get a paper one, but when I asked for a paper one, they asked me to do it online, so that’s what I’m doing now. Now, I’ve finished the online arrival card, and it was surprisingly easy. On the paper version, you have to fill in the return flight number and the airport you’ll be leaving China for , but with this new digital arrival card, which started today, all you need to do is enter. All you have to write is what flight you’re on, which flight, and the name of the airport you’ll be entering from. Shanghai Pudong, right? That’s it. Then, I took a photo of my passport, filled out the necessary information, and didn’t even write my address. So, why? I had to choose whether I was Japanese, entering with a passport , a visa, visa-free, or transit. Then I entered the flight number, and where I was staying—I think that’s all I had to enter. Once I entered that and emailed my phone number, a QR code appeared, and that was it . It’s so easy. Usually, Chinese apps require a lot of manual steps or have some weird display issues, but this was incredibly smooth. So, this is great. It’s already starting today. I asked Mr. C for a paper arrival card , but he told me to do it with this, so I did it now. It was quick. Oh, all the other passengers are tapping away right now. By the way, the aircraft is a Dash 200, a 320 bus. The windows are really dirty. Right now , among the passengers in business class, there happened to be a viewer who subscribes to my channel . That’s reassuring. Well, it’s going smoothly, everyone. So , the door just closed. It’s an Imperial flight. There are four people in business class departing. And half the seats are empty. The economy class is full. Hellent International Airlines. And there’s also that. Centrair relies on flights from China for international passenger numbers. It’s all Chinese flights. Well, I feel like the number of passengers is down a little at the moment, but I couldn’t tell if it was a drastic decrease today. Well, there were some moments when it was pretty empty. This is Centrair, and how do I put it? It’s often reported that demand hasn’t recovered across Japan, but all the other airports are packed, while Centrair is empty. This might be a bit of a negative. If this decline in Chinese demand continues, then everyone is very happy . The in-flight service has begun. The drinks are carbonated. These are nuts. This is the in-flight color of Air China’s Shanghai bottled drink. For the main course, I could choose chicken or beef, so I chose chicken. And fried rice . And then these pink soba noodles, Japanese soba noodles. There was fruit , and then some kind of side dish set. I think this is probably the Nagoya thing. I think they’re loading it. Yeah. That’s right. Definitely. Yes. Well, it looks pretty delicious . Well, I won’t be taking any photos of the eating scene. That’s how it went . Everyone is very happy . We’ve arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2, almost at the Imperial Palace. So after that, it was immigration. Well, it was my first time submitting my online arrival card. I wondered if they’d let Japanese people in without any problems, especially in these circumstances . So I got off the plane. I’m off to immigration now. Like I said before, the online arrival card was pretty easy . It started operating today, so it’s the fastest. I don’t think many people have reviewed it, but it’s fine for now. Now, I’m off to immigration. So, I successfully completed my entry. This time, as I said before, I applied online, so it was super quick. I’m outside now, smoking a cigarette, and it was a breeze. There were a ton of Japanese people. The line was almost entirely Japanese, so it was full of Japanese people. Right. It was just a routine process, and I was let in without any problems. I guess it was quick because they were doing it online. Yeah. They did check my QR code at the entrance, but it was just a visual check , so they didn’t ask me any questions. It felt like business as usual. The only question I got was, ” How many days in China?” They only asked me how many days I was staying . This time, they were silent, but they only asked me that one question . It seems like they don’t ask Japanese people detailed questions . Anyway, as of the 20th, Shanghai is OK. I got in safely, so I’m heading into town. I’m staying at the Courtyard Hotel in the city center, Shanghai Central, which I have a picture of, so I’ll head there. Then I head to the car park. This is totally normal. Some people might say I’m doing this under the orders of the Communist Party, but it’s really normal. So, I got in the car. It took about 50 minutes from the airport to get here. This luxury hotel is Shanghai Central. There are quite a few shops nearby, and it seems quite conveniently located in the city center . Let’s check in now. So, check-in is complete. I’m heading to my room now. It looks like I’ve been upgraded. It’s not a restaurant, but I guess it’s a Chinese restaurant, even though it’s a yard. It looks like I’ve been upgraded to the club lounge floor. This time, my room was on the club floor (28th floor). The 30th floor was in the lounge, and breakfast was free. They even gave me points for points. Well, Marriott in China is pretty popular , so my room cost about 19,000 yen per night. Well, maybe 20,000 yen with everything else. Yes. It’s a pretty luxurious courtyard. The staff were very kind. There were no problems. Oh, this one. It’s not a corner room (2821) . I got a regular room (282) , so I’ll give a quick introduction. It ‘s a bit modern, and my throat hurts. Yes. The room is very nice. It’s more than enough . They called it a premium king room. It’s not a suite. Oh, that was nice. There were four bottles of water, a desk sofa, a king-size bed, and welcome fruit. I think it was bananas and prunes. Oh, there was something similar to the Japanese genji pie . The view was, well, like this, with lots of shops around . Yes. It’s close to the city center. Yes. It looks like this , but there’s no bathtub, but I don’t usually use it , so that’s fine. It’s spacious. The shower room. You know, the one that’s completely visible. Yes. It’s quite spacious, especially if you’re staying with someone , maybe good for couples or married couples, because the sink is spacious, really spacious. There are amenities, and then there’s the toilet. Yes. As you’d expect from Shanghai, with its large Japanese population. There’s Japanese beer in the hotel minibar. Kirin Ichiban Shibori . Anyway, that’s how it is. It’s just before 5pm now, and I entered China safely. Immigration went smoothly without any issues. Everything’s over and I’m in the hotel now, so it was all very smooth. Nothing has changed from before . As for the theme of this video, as I said at the beginning , in this current, emotionally charged atmosphere, I thought I’d act as a guinea pig and report on what it’s like for Japanese people, who are often targeted, to go to China. That’s what I’m thinking. I ‘d like to do other things as well, but the theme of this video is, before I came to China, from what I’d heard from various acquaintances, as you ‘ve probably seen, especially online, heated discussions, with both sides saying all sorts of bad things about China, and conversely, Chinese people saying bad things about Japan , which seems to be the current situation. It’s true that it’s become a problem recently, as seen in the news reports . There’s been a lot of heated discussion about Takaichi Yuji and the other day, during a gathering with foreign affairs officials, with his hands in his pockets and acting strange, and so on, but I thought that the situation at the private level, with ordinary people and ordinary townspeople, would be quite different. To be honest , I was a little scared too. I thought there would be a lot of things going on, but for the time being, things are going as usual, and the electronic application for China’s arrival card, which started today, is really easy, and I thought I’d do it on paper because it was too much of a hassle, but it was really easy, and it went very smoothly, and there’s no way they’re just excluding Japanese people or anything like that . So far, this is just my experience. There may be other patterns, but I tried to convey a little bit of that in this video, so, well, Shanghai is a particularly high-class area, and, well, there are a lot of wealthy people, and a lot of Shanghainese people travel to Japan, so , well, the government, the government, and, well, ordinary people are ordinary people , I think that’s the current situation. Also, when I arrived at Pudong Airport, I think , besides the bottles from Nagoya, there were also a lot of bottles from Japan, from Osaka Kansai and both Tokyo Haneda and Narita, I think. It was a time when a lot of bottles from Japan were arriving in large numbers. It was Terminal 2. So, almost everyone at immigration was Japanese . I was surprised to see so many Japanese people, and there were quite a lot of young people there . I don’t know if they were there for idol events or anything , but there were some girls who seemed to be there without any worries, and some people were saying things like, “I wonder if everything’s okay?” But when I was waiting in line at immigration for 340 minutes, everyone was just like usual , just getting a silent stamp, and if they had any questions , they only asked one or two, so I didn’t see anyone leaving with their luggage or anything. Yeah. It might be different at airports other than Shanghai, especially in the provinces, but I ‘ve heard from people I know that given the current situation, it might be best to avoid Chongji and Nanjin, so for now, I’m in Shanghai , and it was completely normal. Please don’t take this at face value , and please don’t make any weird assumptions, but this is what I’ve experienced and what the current situation is like. The area I’m in now is in the center of Shanghai, and it’s close to places like Nanjin Road Walk and the riverside area with the beautiful night view that everyone often visits. It takes a while to walk, though . So, what I’d like to see in this video today, including tomorrow’s , is if something major half-day-long incident occurs in the future, and I think there’s a good chance that visas will be revoked. I think visa-free entry is possible, and now China has started to do things like suspending seafood imports, and there’s a possibility that things will escalate. And when that happens, like about 10 years ago, there was a large-scale half-day incident in Shanghai, and there were the Nikkei department stores and other stores, and in China, there are tons of Japanese-style Nikkei chains, as well as Muji, Uniqlo, and Aeon. So , what’s the situation like in Shanghai right now? Are there any Chinese people around? I was surprised that it was so empty when I checked in at Centrair today, but , well, I ended up getting on the plane, and many people were there. If things get a little crowded, you might not be able to get in for a while, so I’d like to take a look around the area today and tomorrow, especially in areas where Japanese people gather and where Nikkei stores are concentrated , and give you an idea of what the current situation is like. Anyway, I’m not that hungry right now, so I’ll just go and check out the happy hour at the lounge from 5:30, and then it’ll be night. After that, the sun’s about to set , so let’s go into town for a bit. Let’s have a light meal in the lounge and then go look around town. There’s another one tomorrow, too, the 30th Saibakai, at the club lounge. Wow, that’s impressive. Meow. Oh, the lounge is empty. There seem to be quite a lot of Japanese people at the hotel. There’s tons of Chinese food, so you don’t need to eat out anymore. This is fried chicken. Amazing. Chinese courtyards aren’t that common, after all. Lounge. Yes. Well, I think I’d like to eat something tomorrow. Outside. They have Chin Tao beer. It’s peaceful. So they had fried rice and fried chicken, and it had a bit of an octopus flavor. I’ll eat this before I go. This will do. Dinner. Looks like we arrived in Shanghai early. I’m eating in the lounge, but I’d like to eat a little later tomorrow. Yeah. Eating in the lounge wouldn’t make much difference in the video, but I thought it would be nice to have something more. Well, it’s already night. I’ll eat something today. It would sound like I’m making excuses and look lame. Maybe I shouldn’t speak too much Japanese. Yeah. Amazing. The Shanghai cityscape right in front of the hotel is in a beautiful Christmas mood with all the lights . Let’s take a taxi and go to Nanjin Road Buwai . It’s a place that many Japanese people always visit. There are Uniqlos and Muji stores around there, too. Honestly, the feeling of being there is completely normal. With all the controversy going on since the 20th, I wondered if I shouldn’t speak Japanese too much, but I also feel like I don’t need to worry about it . Well, we’ve arrived. It’s amazing. It’s been a while since I’ve been here. I haven’t really done much to make fun of Shanghai, so it feels like a long time . I’ve mostly just had to transfer at Pudong and been to regional capitals and places that not many people go to, but this is Shanghai, as you’d expect. There are a lot of young people here, and there are definitely a lot of Japanese people. You can tell I’m Japanese by looking at the numbers. I thought there would be so few. It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve been to a Chinese city, but… well, judging from this, it seems normal, but I wonder. Let’s take a look. I’m sure there was a Daimaru department store on the way from Nanjin Road towards the river. I wonder what it’s like in Japan. I, er, I know someone who’s knowledgeable about China, and he said that Shanghai is a very civilized city, and they’ve made various efforts to protect it. You’re basically not allowed to honk your car horn. So I just got here by taxi, and while in other Chinese cities there ‘s a lot of honking, in Shanghai you don’t. It was really quiet. Also, spitting or spitting is basically not allowed, and if you’re caught, you’ll be fined, and I’m sure there are people who do, but you know, you’re fined, so everyone is very respectable . And they have money, too. They’re well-dressed. I think this idol is really popular. I don’t know, but I think some of our staff probably know about the Jidai Shonentai, the Chinese equivalent of Johnny’s. It’s probably surprising. It was the same at Hana’s event the other day, but there were also people promoting Chinese idols and Korean idols. Well, there are quite a few Koreans, but there are also a lot of Chinese idols. Chinese boys have gotten a lot cooler than before. I feel like the women have completely changed to Japanese fashion and makeup. I speak Japanese pretty normally now, but there are some girls who speak it really loud. Demon Slayer was also released after all. They said they were going to restrict it, but apparently it’s drawing a huge audience. The reason they’re in Shanghai right now is because they’ve only been here for half a day, so they’re here to see what Japanese people are like, and they’re not planning on doing any special sightseeing. They’re just here to see what the city is like. I think there’s probably a lot of demand for it. Yeah. So, for now, they’re just going to check out the Nikkei store. I’m not trying to be biased or anything , but it’s really normal, or rather, peaceful. You might say, “You’re acting like this again,” but it pisses me off every time it crosses my mind. I know I’ll say what I think , but I never do. I wonder. I wonder if reporting this will get me criticized again. Well, the fact that I can’t be there means I’m not a journalist. I’m a YouTuber, so I’ve had a lot of people around me who say I’m not worth talking to, so I guess that’s about right . Oh, can you see it? There’s a Muji store in this area where all the stores are. It’s a Japanese store. Let’s take a look. Is it crowded? I’m not planning on looking at the products, though. That’s typical of Shanghai. There are quite a lot of Westerners. There aren’t many in other cities. I come to Shanghai occasionally. It’s fun. It’s just fun. It’s all Japanese now . At Japanese yakiniku restaurants in Japanese games and anime, you’ll see, “Eh, how do you read this? Is it called Hon Plaza? Uniqlo is here, isn’t it?” It’s on the third floor. Well, it’s not on the first floor, so I don’t think it’ll be there when the protests happen and people get ripped apart like this. It’s inside a department store or something. Pop Mart is still so crowded. There ‘s a huge line. Apparently the Love craze is over in the port area. It might be busier than usual in Japan. There might be more people in other towns too. But, there are several days. It’s not just this one place in Shanghai. Maybe it’s because it’s a weekday, but there are only a few customers here and there. I guess it’s normal. It might not be much of a useful indicator. It might get even worse if there are protests or something. Amazing. There’s a Pop Mart on the second floor too. Amazing. Everyone’s buying loads this time. They’re already opening them right away. I’m sure they probably have some China-exclusive items. I don’t know. Apparently if you go there and buy some, you can sell them for a high price. I’m sure there are. I just had a quick look at Pop Mart, and I saw a young Japanese woman inside. They were buying a ton of stuff. There were a lot of Japanese people there. And this is Uniqlo. There are a lot of people there at Uniqlo. Even more so than Muji. This store is pretty spacious, I think. I’m filming this video now, so it’s getting a little blurry. I can’t really tell if it’s crowded or empty. But there are a fair number of people there. This is completely unrelated, but… GU isn’t in Japan. I’ve eaten there before in Shanghai. It’s a hamburger chain, and their milkshakes are amazing, so I thought I’d get one. I’ll just get a milkshake. Hey, excuse me. I stopped in on a whim, but I got a milkshake and fries. Oh, the regular-sized fries were huge. How much do you think that was, everyone? It was 2,000 yen. Over 100, 2,000 yen. I remember eating at this same place before. But the fries and milkshakes are really good. Right, I don’t think they have them in my country. I think I’ve seen one in Malaysia or somewhere, but I’m pretty sure they don’t exist in Japan. Sorry if I’m wrong. So, what I see in front of me now is, uh, Shanghai New World, uh, Daimaru department store. Well, it has a long history, I think it’s a department store that’s been around since Shanghai was a sparsely populated area of Japan, but maybe I’m wrong. Um, let’s take a look here now. There are a lot of people. It’s nighttime. I don’t think there are many people inside. Well, to begin with, department stores don’t feel like they’re swarming with people. Shall we go inside? Well, it seems like there are about the same amount of people walking around. It’s not particularly few either. Well, is it full at all? It looks like this. Yes, this is it. The selling point of this department store is the escalator that turns into stairs. This is my first time riding it. Wow, it’s really impressive. It’s so big. I wonder what will happen if there are demonstrations. But even so, I guess people from Shanghai come here as usual . Well, I guess it’s normal. There are a few people, maybe. I’m not sure if this is normal or not. I wonder if this is a different Japanese color manufacturer. It’s all in Japanese. Well, it’s like this. Sorry. It’s a bit rough. Anyway, Daimaru department store looks like this. Well, it’s a Japanese department store, but it’s normal. Even in this situation, there was no sign of people attacking it because it’s a Japanese store or anything like that . Even tonight, there are people walking around. Shall we go to that scenic spot a little further back? I have some unfortunate news. My camera broke just when I was here. So now I can only take pictures with my iPhone. I think, like Korea, I prefer it cold in China. I’ve been to a lot of places this year during the scorching summer, and I feel like it’s more picturesque when it’s cold. It’s like the shops are being taken over. But it’s really crowded. As you’d expect from Shanghai. I just passed them a while ago, and there was that Japanese group tour. I don’t know which travel agency it was from, but they were there. I think they signed up before this happened, so they’re here, but they just come here as usual. Back in the day, HIS and others used to sell 200-day trips to Shanghai for 10,000 yen. I remember it being incredibly cheap. Traveling to China isn’t that cheap now, but there are still people who come on tours. This is the kind of view you’d expect from Shanghai. It’s so beautiful. If I was the only one here, I wouldn’t know if they were Japanese or not. Well, it’s a place that many Japanese people frequent , but seeing it for the first time in a while, it’s so beautiful. It was like this. It was packed with people. It was packed. And, well, there were a few Japanese people there, too. Yes. I think the Japanese people in those suits were probably salarymen on business trips, taking their last seat here. There were some who were just visiting, some young Japanese tourists, and some on tours, so I thought there were still a lot of Japanese people in Shanghai. Like I said earlier, I only go to regional cities and places I don’t often go to, so I’ve hardly ever been to Shanghai or Beijing, well, it’s not that I’ve never been there , but I didn’t because I thought there wouldn’t be any material to film there, but instead, there are a lot of Westerners and Japanese people there. Shanghai. There were more people than I expected, especially in a typical place like this, and I think that this situation is, well, the reality right now . So, I went to a food massage parlor in this shopping mall right in front of the hotel. There’s everything. Around this hotel. It’s near Shanghai Station. This is it. This is it. Thank you. Oh. Well, I’d like to get a Chinese massage for the first time in a while. This one’s really different from the Taii massage and it’s really good. This place is pretty good, so it’s about 250-5000 yen for 80 minutes . Yeah. Well, when you go to a Chinese massage parlor like this, they serve you herbal tea, sweets, fruit, and other things. I think it’s not a very good place to go alone, but I recommend it. So the massage is over. It felt amazing. I almost passed out. I’m super sleepy. Anyway, I’ll go back to the hotel, take a shower, and call it a day. Anyway, today’s Shanghai. Well, since I arrived, it looked no different from my previous stays in China, so I’m sorry if I’m in a Japanese mood for half the day . Honestly, I didn’t feel anything at all. Immigration was normal, so I still have some time tomorrow, so I’m thinking of checking out the area around the Japanese embassy in Shanghai, where many Japanese people live, and also the shops. I’ll head to bed now. Well, I’m off to sleep. Good night. Good morning. It’s the next day. Today is November 21, 2025. Yesterday, I arrived in Shanghai from Nagoya, Japan, and safely entered China. I had a quick look around the city, but today, there’s a place I’d like to go and see: the area where many Japanese people live in Shanghai, and the area around the Japanese embassy. I think I’ll take a look around the area . Well, I don’t think I’d go there much on a normal trip, but if the situation in China worsens, there might be demonstrations around the Japanese Embassy , and the area where the Nikkei stores are concentrated might be covered in various media, so I’d like to take a look. So , before I head out, I just had breakfast. It’s free, after all. But, what surprised me was this Courtyard. The basic colors were really varied, and they even had natto . I ‘ve seen natto in the Taibanco and other Marriott hotels in Malaysia and Vietnam, but this was my first time seeing natto in a Chinese hotel. They do have Japanese flavors like miso soup, but it’s amazing . And it seems like a lot of Chinese people eat it. Natto is completely Japanese, which is amazing. The culture is already integrated into Japanese culture. Now, let’s take a look at various things, but for now, let’s start with the Japanese Consulate General in Shanghai. I mentioned the embassy earlier, but this is the Japanese Consulate General. The embassy is in Beijing . Yes. I’m going to go there now, to see what’s going on, and finally , I guess I’ll go to the nearby area, as I mentioned earlier, where there’s Takashimaya . Let’s go and see the biggest department store in Shanghai, Takashimaya, and the surrounding area . I just arrived in Shanghai, and I went to the entrance , but the moment I got out of the taxi, I was surrounded by police officers and security guards , and they told me I couldn’t stay there unless I had business, and told me to move away. I couldn’t take any photos, and apparently it was okay to look at the sign on the side, but security was very tight. I’ll move away for a bit. This room at the back. This whole building is made up of the Takashimaya department store, but there were no people around. However, I came to see it because I was worried that it might be attacked if there were demonstrations or something, but as I said earlier, the current situation is that it’s heavily guarded by Chinese police officers and soldiers, so I couldn’t get close. I think you can go inside if you have business there, but if you just came to look, I was surrounded by, um, using a translator, I think it was a soldier, a security police officer , and another staff member. I don’t know why . You can’t get in, but you can’t get in from the front, I guess there are a lot of embassies around here. Yeah. That’s how it was. I-I couldn’t go in and see for myself. But it was well protected . I’m looking at it from the back now, but there were a lot of police cars and people in the front, and there were a lot of guards. It ‘s the same in Japan too. There are double time zones at the Japanese Embassy in Tokyo, and even in Nagoya, but there are a lot of police officers in front of the double time zones in Korea and China. It was pretty much the same, though . Right now , I haven’t seen any protests or anything like that. I wasn’t able to get much time at the double time zone , so I’m heading to Takashimaya now. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from here. There are a few shopping malls around here, and they have a very Japanese feel. Maybe it’s because I’m so close to the double time zone. Near the double time zone, there’s this kind of place, like Central Garden Park , so let’s go through there. It feels like we’re just cutting through. They have those games and stuff. It’s really peaceful. It’s normal. The park is beautiful, too. I bought Suntory oolong tea, which I often drink when I go to Shanghai, my favorite city in China . The weather is so nice and warm, and I feel so relaxed. Things might change again . This is what it looks like in 2025, November 21st. If there were any demonstrations or anything, the atmosphere would be completely blown away. Well, the people of Shanghai have a high standard of living, so I don’t know what will happen, but I think the atmosphere will change. The Shanghai Japan terminal is in a great location. I think it’s a little further away than the city center. It’s about 6km from the hotel, and it took about 15 minutes by taxi, which is nice. I just came through the subway station, which is kind of under the station. It was a straight line, so it was quick. There are quite a few Shanghai Takashimaya stores overseas, aren’t there? They have some in Vietnam, too, but I’ve never made the effort to come here. Given the current situation, I decided to go to a typical Japanese department store, the Daimaru department store. I went there yesterday, and I’ll see what it’s like. But it’s Takashimaya, and I think the dining area is on the 7th floor. It’s not all Japanese. They have shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, tonkatsu, and mabu soba. What is this? Is it a little different? This is also different. So, there’s Japanese-style yakiniku, ramen, sashimi, izakaya, Japanese cuisine, Korean food, izakaya, Chagi Chagi, I’d like to see them expand into Japan. Well, there’s also Thai food. That’s amazing. I’m thinking about eating something a little Japanese now. So, what’s it like ? I’m sure everyone is eating it normally, even in this situation. Japanese-style kareta rice is great. Wow, there’s so much. Anyone who’s worked or lived in Shanghai will know, but this is Gubei , the old north. This area is apparently where the so-called Japanese expatriates—those like the “Toro” expatriates in Bangkok, with good salaries, nice apartments, wives, and middle-aged wives—come and go. I don’t know the details , but I heard that from an acquaintance. This area is full of smart Japanese people, and they’re very conscious. Apparently, they’re easy targets, though. This is Takashimamae. Oh, it’s impressive. It’s huge. It smells like a Japanese department store from around here. It doesn’t smell like China . It feels completely normal. It’s just before lunchtime now. It ‘ll probably get crowded soon, though. Ah, it smells like Japan. It’s a Japanese restaurant. Wow, it looks delicious. They sell grilled fish, too. They also have oden. Even though it’s a Chinese restaurant in China, they have Japanese writing on it. That’s what you’d expect from Takashimaya. I went to the other day, and now I’m on the fifth floor of Shanghai Takashimaya. This place is called the Japan Pavilion, and I think there are a lot of Japanese shops there, so let’s take a look. It’s just before noon. Well, this is typical of Japan, but it wouldn’t be like this in Tokyo. This is it. I don’t know how many people are there normally, so it’s the same as yesterday. I’m not sure if this is normal or not, but I guess if you live in Shanghai, you’d know that it’s normal. It says this place only sells this particular thing. So Takashima is Japan. There are a few customers here and there, but not many. Well, I guess they’d go out of their way to buy things in Shanghai. With so many Chinese people coming to Japan, it’s probably better to buy things here. That’s probably what they think. It’s the current quarter or something like that. There doesn’t seem to be much to see. From what I’ve heard, it seems like this. It’s a bit, uh, there’s not much to take. A Japanese-style dry cleaner. Well, I think this is a Japanese laundry shop. There are certainly not many people. Let’s go to the restaurant on the 7th floor . But, you know, I’ve been to various Chinese cities , and most places are usually full even on weekdays. Like Japanese-style restaurants and places like Nikuniku Damai. Even Fukushu no Fukushu was super crowded, so when I think about it, maybe this is not a lot for Shanghai. Maybe it was even more crowded before. This is also a Japanese soba restaurant. All Japanese restaurants. Eel is good. Oh, I want to try it. I have the impression that there are a lot of Japanese-style yakiniku restaurants in other cities, but I think they’re increasing in China. It’s the same here, but maybe it’s a little pricey? It’s in Takashimaya, so there’s no line, even at lunchtime. And this is a tonkatsu restaurant. I have the impression that places like Saizeriya are really crowded. Tonkatsu is usually around 100 yen, maybe around 2000 yen. The tonkatsu set meal. This is a pretty nice restaurant. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but what should I eat? I think I’ll try this eel restaurant . I’ve noticed that there have been a lot more eel restaurants and himabu in China recently . I’m sure they’re booming in Korea as well. This place hasn’t had any customers yet today, so I’ll go . I’ll have the lunch set. So, I’ll order the ‘U-Gun’ from this lunch set. It comes with a side dish for 48 yuan. Shall I order that? The ‘U-Gun’ is… Hmm… It’s pretty expensive. About 4000 yen. After noon , quite a few people started coming in. When I first went in, I was the only one there, but now there are about 10 people, so maybe this is actually pretty normal. But looking at this , it says it takes a while for the eel to be ordered , so maybe it’s usually busy. Apparently it takes 30 minutes when it’s busy. The waiter and tea arrived too. The staff at Snafu speak Japanese. It’s easy. So, we arrived. We ordered a lunch set with eel. And sashimi. It started to get really crowded, and the place was pretty much full . Amazing. Most of the customers were Chinese. There were some Japanese people, but they were just walking around the place normally. This eel restaurant seems to be popular. As expected. Oh, the service is great, and the food looks delicious. Is this the current situation? Everyone who comes is coming and eating. Let’s eat. It just looks super delicious. Super delicious. This is probably the best eel I’ve had overseas. It’s Kansai style. The skin is crispy and it’s grilled until it’s nice and crunchy, but still juicy. Yes. Wow, it’s so delicious! The sauce tastes good too. It’s a shame to eat it in Japan. I guess the eel you eat in Japan is the best, but when I sometimes eat it overseas in late summer, the Japanese-style eel tastes a little bland, like it’s just frozen, but here it’s properly cooked. This crispy, crunchy eel costs 5,000 yen. Wow, it’s really high quality. I was surprised. The sauce is made just like in Japan. I was impressed. Of course, Chinese people who have traveled to Japan and eaten here come here. They know it’s delicious. It’s very popular. The soup is good, too. The sashimi looks good too. Let that air out here, and then add another light. It’s just super delicious. High quality. Well, like the sushi in Thailand, Chinese sushi is also really delicious. I guess the technology in logistics and the way the fish is managed has improved. It’s definitely worth eating in Japan. Well, of course the food in Japan is delicious, but… it’s amazing. The sashimi. So good! Of course the eel is good too, but this is amazing. I know I might say it’s Chinese if I say this too much, but it’s true. You’ll understand once you try it. The food is really high quality, and the Japanese flavor is rising at an incredible speed. Yeah. And they serve this much. It’s already full. Amazing. I was the only one there when I first went in. Well, it’s probably just a matter of time. I’m sure. The other restaurants are probably busy too. There were loads of customers. Amazing. So it was delicious. The meal to Oka was 228 yuan. For lunch. It was probably just under 5,000 yen. I can’t quite remember the calculations right now, so I’ll just show you the captions. It’s a bit pricey for a lunch, and I guess it’s Shanghai Science, but it was delicious, so it’s fine . There was a female staff member who spoke Japanese, so I asked her about it, and she told me it was perfectly fine to walk around Shanghai knowing I was Japanese . Yes. That’s about it. We’re fully booked now. Anyway, I’ll end this video here for now. Looking at the posts from people who were transiting through China at the same time, and who were staying overnight, or who were just traveling, I ‘m not sure which ones are all correct, but I’d say it’s about 80% to 20% . Some people were writing about feeling unfairly or something like that. I didn’t see any articles about people being denied entry, but our staff said there had been some when they were investigating, so I was quite worried, but that didn’t happen. On the other hand, some people were also worried, but when they came, they were able to enter without any problems. They said things like, “They were surprisingly kind,” or “It was my first time here, but it was really normal.” Oh, I guess I’m pretty much like the other 80% or so of the other people at the school this time . Everyone was worried, but it seems like if they really wanted to go, it was fine. However, depending on how you look at it, it’s totally fine . It’s OK to go. I’m not saying that you should come as much as you want . Travel is at your own risk, not just to China. So, I’m the one who guides people, and, um, um, that Uighur thing, it was kind of confusing too. You said something, but no, that’s not it. Everyone, it’s your own responsibility, yeah. I’m just letting you know what the current situation was like for me . Yes. It’s up to you to make your own judgment. Well, right now, and I saw them yesterday or so in the city, you know, Japanese people on tours organized by major Japanese travel agencies were just out there, and you know, a group of 56 girls who seemed to be university students were at a Pop Mart in Shanghai, and they were just out there . So, well, based on my own opinion, I don’t think they’re acting prematurely or anything, well, that’s quite wrong, so I would like you to refrain from interpreting it that way. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, and no matter how many travel agencies there are , yes. Well, I guess travel agencies don’t really know. Yeah. So, in the midst of all this, I was able to vent some of the anxiety and dissatisfaction that everyone was feeling , and I came to Shanghai right away to try it out. I might go back to the local areas in the near future , but for now, there were no problems and I was able to travel normally . Also, there are a lot of Nikkei companies, department stores, shopping malls, and department stores in Shanghai. I didn’t see them all, but from what I could see, it seemed normal . The Japanese eel restaurant I ate at on my last day was full , so I decided not to eat Japanese food or buy or go to Japanese food. That hasn’t happened yet, but maybe it will happen in Shanghai in the future . I think it might be more common in regional cities. Yeah. Everyone was enjoying the food and the Chinese people were eating, and Japanese people were mixing in and eating with us. Honestly, my answer is that I didn’t sense any uneasy atmosphere . These kinds of issues tend to heat up online, and people are sharing information with each other. Unlike television or newspapers , the online world requires you to be selective about the information you choose. If you want to gather biased information, you can. If you get a good balance, it’s easier to get true information than with other media, even with what’s called old media. It’s up to you. So, I don’t go out of my way to spread biased information, to make people into believers, and to tell them to only believe what I say . There are some journalists who do that, but I’m not like that at all. I think people should be able to make their own decisions, and they should be responsible for everything they do. So, it’s about choosing the information . Yes. Also, the current situation changes daily, so I hope you’ll use this video as a reference for your analysis. I don’t know if it was helpful to you , but as I’ve said many times, this is my summary of the current state of affairs. As always , I believe that the truest picture is what you see when you’re there, and what you see for yourself . While there may be various perspectives, I’m trying to present my views in an unbiased and unbiased manner. It’s not like someone said this , but if you really have doubts, I think the right thing to do is to go and see it with your own eyes, and that’s what I’ve always done, so I ‘ll leave it at that: a quick trip to Shanghai. If you ‘d like, please like this video, subscribe , and leave your thoughts in the comments. Thank you for watching . And here’s a little bonus video: I was thinking about going out to eat something. This has been requested quite a bit by viewers, but China sells a lot of skewered meat . Especially lamb, and I love the Korean lamb skewer called “yankochi .” I love it, and while I’ve eaten it in China before, I’ve never made a video about it . Also, in my own image of China, it’s mostly street food, so I’ve avoided it because it’s usually placed outside . I thought it would be nice to eat it inside a restaurant, and there happened to be one near my hotel . So I wanted to try it, and here’s a bonus video. Shanghainese people wait for the traffic light to change. In other regions, a lot of people just cross the street, but the people here are very respectable. It’s a chain restaurant, so it’s not a Shanghai specialty or anything, but this place looks like it’s open and looks good. I thought it was cheap. Five skewers for 16 yen. Hey, shall we have this? If it’s delicious, we’ll have seconds. So I went in and paid with a QR code. I made a mistake and ordered 10 instead of just 5, so it came to 32 yuan. I ordered a Sprite for my drink. Yes. 37 yuan in total. Oh, here it is . Sprite. These skewered lamb skewers are quite popular on the mainland. Recently, when I went to Xinjiang, I had some delicious skewered lamb there. They’re also popular in the Russian Far East and in Korea. I think I introduced them a lot last year, but they’re called Yankochi, these mysterious machines that spin around automatically. They’re everywhere, including Seoul. I heard they were quite popular, but I wonder if they’ve died down yet. This was about 12 years ago. I also eat Korean lamb, and why is it so popular? Well, it’s popular among people who are dieting or doing muscle training because lamb is high in fat, low in quality, and low in calories. But originally, in areas like Ki-rin, where Korean ethnic groups live, people really eat these kinds of lamb skewers. That’s right, that place is the source of the book. As for Korean skewers, I think they probably originated in China. They’re also found throughout the mainland, and there are all sorts of interesting stories about lamb skewers . There are Chinese-style ones with spicy spices, and, well , that one. To make it easier for everyone to understand, I think it ‘s the Arroz Stilo Onion at Saizeriya ? I forgot the name of that one, but they have that skewer thing. It’s the one you eat with spices. To be honest, it’s like a Chinese version , or maybe a Uyghur version, or maybe a Korean version , but personally, I think the Korean Yangko version is the best . Well, that’s also a restaurant run by Chinese people, Koreans, and it’s delicious. So, these are 32 yen for 10 sticks, so how much? Well, it’s probably less than 700 yen . Five out of ten was 16 yuan. Also, depending on the restaurant, the meat size might be small or something, but let’s wait a bit. Well, this is just a bonus video of me eating, but I got a request. Su-san, next time you go to China, please serve me this at a restaurant after the opening hours. So, I’m doing it on a limited basis. In China, the rate of cast straws is quite low. Well, it’s not zero, but I like the fact that they’re no longer using paper or hair, and are using plastic instead. Hey, this straw is big. So I came here. It smells amazing. The meat is tiny. This is a little tiny. But the aroma is amazing. Well, it’s a chain restaurant, not a specialty store. Ah, this is good. Eat this bit by bit. I could order 10 and eat them all. I’ll have some then. It’s not a Shanghai specialty or anything, but it’s very spicy. It has the same spice as the one I had in Uyghur. Yeah. Delicious. It has no strong flavor, so I could eat it endlessly. Yeah. I can’t drink alcohol, but I think it would go really well with people who do. It’s not as spicy as I thought it would be. Well, I’m sure they’ll adjust the seasoning accordingly. I was right to order 10. I could eat them all in one go. My kid is playing next to me, banging his dishes, so it might be a little loud, but it’s delicious. This is good. This is just a bonus video of an old man eating yankoji, or lamb, when he has some free time, but if you have any other requests for food or places you’d like to go, please let me know. I can answer requests right away, so thank you. Also, I have a little announcement or promotion to make: my book will be released on January 23rd, next year, in 2026 , in just a few months. This will be my book debut, so thank you so much for all your pre-orders. For those who haven’t done so yet, I ‘ll put up a link here, a QR code, and also in the description , so right now it’s only available on Amazon, and since pre-orders haven’t started yet, it’s only available on Amazon, but if there are any viewers out there who have decided not to shop online, then those people can also pre-order at their local bookstore, so I hope they will do so. Sorry. I was promoting it, but that was an announcement about Uncle Despair, who is currently eating lamb in Shanghai, China . That was a bonus video. Thank you for watching. P
