【香嵐渓】2025 紅葉の香嵐渓を朝から夜まで12時間滞在! | 紅葉・グルメ・足助の町並み散策

Good morning! Today we’re visiting Korankei and the streets of Asuke Here’s our schedule Korankei is located in Asuke Town, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture Here’s roughly where it is in relation to Nagoya Korankei is known as one of the best autumn foliage spots in the Tokai region Every fall, a maple festival is held
and attracts many visitors from inside and outside the prefecture We stayed at Korankei for about 12 hours from morning until the evening light-up We also took a walk through the streets of Asuke And enjoyed plenty of delicious food! We’ll share info about crowds at different times and the local food scene Hope this is helpful for your visit! We’ve arrived at Korankei We parked at Miyamachi Parking Lot, which is close to Korankei Parking fee is ¥1,000 per day during autumn foliage season
(¥500 per day off-season) Just past Miyamachi Parking Lot,
we saw someone holding a ¥700 sign Since most nearby parking lots were ¥1,000,
this might be the cheapest option around…? But we stuck to our plan and parked at Miyamachi You pay at the entrance and receive a receipt Place the receipt on your windshield
where it’s visible Miyamachi Parking Lot before 8 AM on a weekday Still plenty of space There are restrooms at the parking lot Maps are available near the parking lot entrance There was an English version too Asuke general information map The streets of Asuke are within walking distance from Korankei Walking towards the Tomoe River The food stalls are still closed The ginkgo trees are beautifully yellow The Tomoe River is coming into view Wow! The foliage along the river is quite red! The restaurants along the Tomoe River were still getting ready View from the restaurant side of the Tomoe River in early morning We can see Taigetsu Bridge Early morning at Taigetsu Bridge means fewer people and a chance to have it to yourself We’ll show you what Taigetsu Bridge looks like around noon later Next, we’re walking towards Korankei Plaza The three colors of foliage – red, yellow, and green – are beautiful Kurinoki Chaya Marshmallow hot chocolate We’ve arrived at Korankei Plaza During the maple festival, events like monkey shows
are held at Korankei Plaza There are many restaurants in the plaza Roasted chestnuts from Kyoto were being sold You can eat freshly roasted chestnuts Each one is so big! Mmm 😋 So delicious!! By lunchtime and the evening light-up, it gets really lively here Taishoumen (knife-cut noodles)
Opens at 10 AM Souvenir shops on both sides The ginkgo tree in front of Sanshu Asuke Yashiki is so beautiful The clouds cleared and the sun came out, making the colors so vibrant Café Katakago It’s popular for its in-house roasted charcoal coffee
and the autumn foliage view from the riverside terrace You can get a morning set here
that comes with bread from Barbara House We’ll visit Sanshu Asuke Yashiki after lunch Let’s head to Koshakuji Temple while there aren’t many people To get to Koshakuji Temple, we need to climb some stairs When you turn around after climbing, the three-colored foliage is beautiful The foliage seen through the temple gate, lit by the sun, is stunning Koshakuji is a Soto Zen temple founded in 1427 Koshakuji is where the beauty of Korankei’s autumn foliage
all began About 400 years ago, monk Saiei began planting maples along the approach It’s said he planted them carefully one by one
while chanting the Heart Sutra After that, local people continued planting trees,
and now about 3,000 maple trees color the mountain Walking towards Koranko Bridge We can see Kunpu Bridge Is that Kawami Parking Lot on the opposite bank? It’s about 9:30 on a weekday and there still seems to be plenty of space Koranko Bridge is coming into view Koranko Bridge, a red suspension bridge spanning the eastern part of Korankei From the bridge, you can see the Tomoe River and autumn foliage on both banks We’re going to Kawami Chaya on the other side of Koranko Bridge Taka-san was shivering from the cold,
so we thought we’d warm up with some hot soba Kawami Chaya There’s an irori (traditional hearth) We ordered mountain vegetable soba, tanuki soba, black sesame dango, and gohei mochi This shape and taste is the gohei mochi I grew up with Black sesame dango The sweetness is quite subtle, letting you enjoy the black sesame and mochi as they are Thank you for the meal! (Total ¥2,400) Walking to Ichinotani There’s a tree growing on the roof 🙂 We’ve arrived at Ichinotani The autumn foliage around Ichinotani is also very beautiful There’s a restaurant called Korankei Ichinotani You can also see Koranko Bridge from here Going back to Korankei Plaza for lunch On the way back, we’re walking along the path by the river At Korankei, there’s a riverside path and an elevated path So you can enjoy different scenery on the way there and back Kunpu Bridge On the way there we viewed it from above, but on the way back we could see it up close The foliage next to the closed Kunpu-tei was beautiful Near Kunpu-tei, there was something called the “Fighting Maple” Wow! The maple branch is digging into the cedar tree 😲 We’re back at Korankei Plaza Unlike this morning, it’s bustling with crowds Got ourselves some seats! First, to Barbara House and ZiZi Kobo A super long curry bread! (¥700) It’s so long I can’t get it in focus! ZiZi Kobo’s charcoal-grilled frankfurter (¥450) The charcoal aroma and crispy snap make it delicious! Idokan no Mise Konnyaku dengaku (3 pieces for ¥400) The sweet red miso is delicious! A familiar taste for Aichi locals! We also got Asuke Cider (¥200) First cider in a while – so good! The label design is cute too 🥰 Hinoki Chaya This is my first time eating ayu with roe (¥1,000 per fish) Ayu with a belly full of eggs So much roe! We’re planning to have the Taishoumen(knife-cut noodles) in the evening! Next, we’re going to Sanshu Asuke Yashiki A heart was made from ginkgo leaves Sanshu Asuke Yashiki is a facility
where you can experience traditional mountain village life You can see demonstrations of about 10 different traditional crafts Admission is ¥300 for adults Wood turner’s workshop Craftsmen who use a lathe to make trays and bowls from various woods You can also purchase items made by the craftsmen Basket maker’s shop Apparently Asuke is a bamboo production area There are so many different types To think these are handmade! They’re too beautiful! The variety of bamboo products and how they’re carried is amazing… Blacksmith Wow, a blacksmith that’s been running for 7 generations since the late Edo period! Main house Taka-san is good at kendama Even the cow is impressed I’m terrible at it Walking towards Taigetsu Bridge A monkey show was being held at Korankei Plaza On the way there we walked along the river,
but now we’re taking the elevated path Taigetsu Bridge is coming into view More people than this morning, but not super crowded Walking through the maple tunnel Taishido is coming into view Stairs leading to the summit of Mount Iimori It takes about 20 minutes to the summit, but it looks tough with all those stairs I keep saying I’ll go next time but still haven’t been once 😅 Every time I stop at Taishido 🙃 Taishido The autumn foliage from here is also beautiful Oh, no one’s here today The path continuing to the summit of Mount Iimori The evening light-up is beautiful too It’s so beautiful I’m reluctant to go down the stairs Next, we’re walking through the streets of Asuke, right near Korankei Asuke is a historic town with streets remaining from the Edo and Meiji periods During the Edo period, it prospered as a relay station
on the “Salt Road” carrying salt from Mikawa Bay to Shinshu National Important Cultural Property: Former Suzuki Family Residence A large merchant house dating from the Edo period, with 16 buildings remaining The main house is currently open to the public The main house is currently open to the public Special tours showing the preservation repair work are also popular Manrin Bookstore Manrin Alley next to it Said to be the most beautiful spot in the streets of Asuke You can enjoy local cuisine along with exploring the streets of Asuke Manrin Bookstore also has a café Oh right, next month is already Christmas The café is in the back of the bookstore The high ceiling gives a sense of openness We went with the cake set the staff recommended The canelé is especially popular, they said Uh… it won’t cut I’ll just eat it with my hands Oh! Delicious! The canelé here is slightly sweet and moist We both got coffee The staff recommended we check out the stained glass in the back,
so we went to look When I checked Instagram later, I learned it’s a precious stained glass
that came from an old church in England I wonder if it’s only displayed at this time of year? There was a gallery and clothing shop in the back Asuke Ryoguchiya We got maple manju, chestnut kinton, and joyo manju Plenty of red bean paste inside – delicious! Chestnut kinton Smooth with a bit of texture – delicious The joyo manju was warm We bought rice flour madeleines and ate them at home They were also delicious! Izutsukame Butcher Shop A butcher shop run by the local cuisine restaurant “Izutsukame” right next door In addition to side dishes and meat,
they were selling croquettes you can eat while walking Regular customers kept coming in one after another Wild boar croquette Freshly fried and piping hot Very creamy texture – delicious 😋 Katoya Rare potato is sold by weight There are various types of pudding Various types of manju too Baked pudding Very smooth – delicious! We also bought rare potato It looks like a sweet potato but tastes like cheesecake How do they make this shape? After eating lots of snacks, we returned to Korankei We came to Tomoe Bridge The view from Tomoe Bridge is a popular photo spot The autumn foliage of Mount Iimori reflected in the Tomoe River is usually beautiful,
but clouds came out today so it’s not great… Crossed Tomoe Bridge and came to the opposite bank of Mount Iimori Heading back to the parking lot for a rest until the light-up The light-up has started, so we’re heading to Korankei We walked the opposite route from the morning, starting from the Mount Iimori side Going to Taishido The path to Mount Iimori The light-up at Korankei attracts tons of young couples Taigetsu Bridge We ate Toushoumen(knife-cut noodles) before heading home Thanks so much for watching to the end!
