TRUE Birthplace of China: Uncovering the Secrets of the Yellow River Civilization

If you look at a satellite map of China you will see two massive rivers running through the south and the north Yeah, those are the Yangtze River and the Yellow River and both start from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau winding their way across pretty much the whole country From west to east high to low mountains to the ocean canyons to plains and wherever these rivers flow they carve out totally different landscapes and completely different ways of life Next up, we’re gonna visit different sections of these two great rivers step by step exploring the unique cultures behind them In this first episode we’re heading to the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River This area is where Chinese civilization really began with tons of rich culture and ancient relics left behind over thousands of years And right here the Yellow River takes a huge bend rushing out of the mountains and into the North China Plain It shaped all these diverse landscapes and created one of a kind ways of life Now, come along with me to find the ‘ancient Yellow River homeland’ Hello, I have arrived in Yuncheng now Behind me is the airport of Yuncheng I’m not lucky It rained right after landing This is said to be a rare plum rain season It rained for more than ten days I hope the weather will get better I plan to rent a car in Yuncheng and drive along the Yellow River Driving from west to east Because the Yellow River flows through the Loess Plateau region of Shanxi Province Then, heading east to Henan Province one reaches the North China Plain The terrain slopes down and the river channel widens the natural scenery along the way should be quite different also have many cultural sites For example, historical sites and unique villages I’m ready to explore Go see these special places Let’s get started! Down in the southern part of Yuncheng there’s this long, narrow mountain range stretching across called the Zhongtiao Mountains Now, they already have an expressway cutting through the mountains so you could drive straight over it to reach the Yellow River bank But me, I choose the longer route heading to Fengling ferry port the spot where the Yellow River meets the borders of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces If you put up a satellite view it’s insane the Yellow River takes this sharp almost 90-degree turn here It’s totally tucked between mountains on both sides as it flows east The rapid currents from upstream slow down here making it perfect for ferries to cross That’s how fengling ferry port became what it is today this natural hub connecting east, west, north, and south along the Yellow River all thanks to its incredible location I have found a small path could be able to reach the Yellow River I’m going to go explore There were too many people at Fengling ferry port The traffic was jammed I just flew a drone and left This place is probably only 1 km away from port It’s all farmland, there’s no one there I have arrived at the banks of the Yellow River Wow, it’s right in front of me I can walk over here Are these all burnt reeds? This is the Yellow River Wow, so grandiose That’s the Yellow River Bridge This side of the Yellow River is the north bank It wrote the characters ‘Great River Fairyland’ on top and the four words at the back but I can’t see what they are Then this side belongs to Shanxi Province the opposite should be Shaanxi Province heading east will lead to Henan Province Fengling ferry port is a place at the junction of three provinces The upper reaches of the Yellow River are there Originating from Bayan Har Mountains in Qinghai Province then through the Loess Plateau Then passed through Shanxi Province Turned a corner here and go east Further there is a small hill in Henan Province Then, heading east will lead to a plain This is where the Chinese civilization originated Yellow River – the mother river The river is relatively wide in this area. so the river flows slowly Very gentle There is a sandy plain in the middle Soil erosion in the upper reaches of the Yellow River is relatively serious so it carried a lot of mud and sand Too comfortable, blowing river breeze I came to Fengling ferry port This is a cinema built in the 1950s and 1960s This has been repaired but it still retains the original appearance Very ancient Then the town’s residents old and young, are playing around in this square The town is not big but it has a special humanistic atmosphere Here are also some posters from the 1980s Special nostalgia Hair salon, convenience store This is a photo studio There are slogans from last century The name sounds nice, Fengling ferry port A bit classical feel Here was originally Fenghuang Jue (place name) Fenghuang Jue is the place where Nuwa created people Is this the place? Over there at Fengling ferry port It is also said that there is a tomb of Fenghou here Yes So it is called Fengling ferry port There have been a lot of people in the past, right? It used to be very lively here It’s because of Fengling ferry port In the past, there were ferries Now it is not necessary to cross the Yellow River via the ferry drive directly across the Yellow River Now there is a highway bridge Small shops on the street This sign is written in Mahua (snack) This is selling bread But now they have all become express stations These small stores are being updated and replaced Keep pace with the times I used this hair-cutting equipment when I was a child I have sat on this chair This type of chair is no longer used Now it’s all that kind of high-end chairs Haircut is cheap here How much is it now? 6 or 7 RMB Is it still 6 or 7 RMB? yes But the new urban area is expensive use this basin for washing hair? Boil water with coal briquettes to wash hair But this (payment method) has kept pace with the times Now everyone uses QR code payment Still keep pace with the times Are the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) nearby all this big? Or is it as big as our store? Our store’s Roujiamo is big I didn’t eat this big before. Because our store is in the town so make it bigger Oh, it’s your store that makes such a big one Yes The consumers are almost villagers Big Roujiamo The general Roujiamo is this size It might be about 2/3 as large The meat filling in this steamed bun is too big I also ordered a Liangpi not sure if I can finish it But I didn’t have breakfast today I am a bit hungry so I did it Now I’m going to have a look at the railway station It is said that this railway station is also quite old But from a distance it seems to have been renovated I don’t know if I can find that kind of old platform Let’s go take a look in a while Arrived at this train station but found it was not accessible needed to buy a ticket to enter I asked a local old man and he said that going forward can lead to the nearby railway tracks I’m going to have a look I’m by the tracks of the local railway station now You can see that there is a green train here This is the slowest train in China’s railway system Generally 120 km/h speed It is from Linfen to Fenglingdu I am currently at Fenglingdu station The train has arrived at the station and passengers have all gotten off No one inside It’s the National Day holiday now Many people who work or study in other places will return home Most people choose to take the train But there are a lot of high-speed railways in China now High-speed rail increases travel speed and shortens the time of return home But also caused the cancellation of many of these old cars’ schedules In fact, some people want to take this slow train to experience local customs For example, this Fenglingdu Station High-speed trains will not stop here but slow trains will If you choose to travel by this slow train Encountering such a small station may choose to go down and tour around Maybe you will find something different Back in the day Fenglingdu was seriously thriving Merchants from up north and down south would come through here to cross the Yellow River and that brought a ton of wealth to this little town And on top of that the martial arts love stories and rivalries that went down here in Jin Yong’s novel The Return of the Condor Heroes added this awesome romantic vibe to the ancient ferry town But these days the old ferry port is pretty much gone With highways and railway bridges built over the Yellow River this once-booming town has gotten quiet and run-down Now people just zip across the river on faster, more convenient transport and barely anyone even notices this ordinary little town anymore Luckily, though the Old Green slow train still passes through here passengers might glance out the window casually and go Oh, so this is Fenglingdu I just came out of Fenglingdu and crossed the Yellow River Bridge Then entered Shaanxi province Then along the Lianhuo Expressway it has now entered the Henan province I turned off the expressway onto a county road It is this relatively narrow rural path Then I’ll go to a place where I live today It is a kind of homestay with local characteristics You will know when arriving wow Is this your old house? yes it was repaired It looks good There are also houses on the ground Above usually elderly live It’s convenient to live on it we all lived below before Building such a house costs very little No bricks and tiles needed This is made of mud mixed with straw I booked a single room This is similar to a cave dwelling and it has been decorated and plastered Then the floor is paved with blue bricks bottom of the bed is also brick Then laid a mattress layer There is air conditioning It is said that cave dwellings are warm in winter and cool in summer still need air conditioning? Behind is the bathroom The bathroom is quite large I am very curious where the water from the underground courtyard is drained It was already underground Where do you drain the rainwater here? Water seepage well This is a septic tank, and there is a well here It rarely rains here If there is more rain we will open the manhole cover The ground is sloping, water will seep in Is this the exhaust of the Underground Courtyard? yes Be careful when seeing this Because maybe you will step on the gap The entrance of the Underground Courtyard It’s amazing, why live underground? This is an old house and it should be unoccupied Now, many locals have moved to live on the ground These are old houses I think it’s because of the high terrain of this place that it’s not easy to store water? Water seeped away A water cellar is dug below the Underground Courtyard Rainy water flows into the water cellar oh It won’t rain all the time The water in the cellar has seeped away It rains seasonally every year It rains relatively little Still overflow if there is too much rainwater yes Why not build upground buildings at first? Earliest here was poor, no money to build No bricks no tiles Not to mention steel and concrete Also no money to buy One more point is that the soil here is good yeah Digging underground caves will not collapse Just make sure the ground drainage is good Mixed straw with mud (I guess) Drain the water and it won’t collapse Economical and inexpensive Dig the soil and build it back then there were no materials and no money These underground Courtyards go back thousands of years Back then, people didn’t have a lot of materials or technology to build with so they got creative They’d pick a high flat area and dig straight down to create their living space Hardly any bricks or tiles were needed which made it really affordable And because the soil here drains well rainwater just seeps down and flows away so flooding was never really a problem Nowadays even though most locals have moved into above-ground houses a lot of these courtyards are still around some have been turned into homestays and others are still lived in When it’s super hot or freezing cold outside these places become this cozy, safe shelter just like they always have Look at their pitiful expressions I feel like you guys are all used to it Right? Come over when it’s meal time Nor have I seen you guys before All are well-fed Are you the dogs of this house? I haven’t eaten yet. I’ll give it to you first When night falls faint lines turn on inside the courtyards against the dark earth If you look down from above it’s like a living painting All the joys, sorrows and daily lives of the people inside are frozen in the thousands of years of time outside that painting How did you get up there? Come down Don’t dare to come down? Jump down Ignore me Did you go up and dare not come down? or does it have other secret passages? So after spending the night in the underground courtyard I kept heading along the Yellow River and made it to Sanmenxia city This city is in the far western part of Henan Province and the Yellow River flows right through it Upstream, the terrain opens up and the water flows pretty gently But as you head downstream the mountains on both sides squeeze the river channel until it gets super narrow And right across it stands this massive dam And this is exactly where Sanmenxia got his name Hello, I just got off the dam Then I came to the other side of the river It must be said that the Sanmenxia Dam is quite spectacular Especially, the Yellow River is particularly narrow here You can see a small island in the river Can take the elevator on the dam to this island You can watch the Yellow River and the dam up close But since too many people were in this elevator I gave up Then I came to the opposite bank of the river It’s actually quite close to look at here This river water is not very turbulent It is said that in July and August each year When the flood is drained Much yellow water will be discharged from that flood discharge outlet Especially spectacular It’s a pity that it’s now the dry season. No flood release Otherwise, it would be quite shocking to see this kind of flooding scene Then the Yellow River flows eastward all the way from the Sanmenxia Dam This section is weaving through these steep mountains Go all the way east to Zhengzhou nearby It will become broader We will continue to head east along the Yellow River Go and see what it looks like Here’s the story behind the name ‘Sanmenxia’ which literally means ‘The Gorge of Three Gateways’ Legend has it, back in the ancient times the Yellow River used to flood all the time causing so much disaster and sufferings for the people So this legendary figure Yu the Great took on the mission to tame the river He lifted a divine axe and split the mountain into three gorges the ‘Human Gate’ the ‘God Gate’ and the ‘Ghost Gate’ That helped channel the river and flooding stopped These three gorges stood there like three giant gates and that’s how the name “Sanmenxia” came to be But when they built the Sanmenxia Dam those original three gorges became part of the dam structure So I could only imagine how powerful and dramatic the scene must have looked back then The dam’s been here for over 60 years now and it’s the first water conservancy project built on the Yellow River It helped control the flooding to some extent but on the other because the Yellow River carries so much sediment it led to silt buildup That raised the riverbed upstream and ended up affecting areas along both sides of the river You know, it’s kind of like the dual nature of the Yellow River itself she’s the mother river of Chinese civilization nurturing life and culture for thousands of years but at the same time her frequent floods have also brought so much sufferings to the people The rain is too heavy the summit has already started to fog up The road before me feels like navigating through Silent Hill I don’t know if the rain will get lighter in a while Hope the rain is a bit lighter otherwise I won’t be able to see the Yellow River Came to a misty area Look ahead and over here This wind turbine is like a giant waving its arms there Getting closer, it’s actually a bit scary especially in this heavy fog weather I feel that it will hit me at any time and the sound of the wind turbine blades rotating is quite loud It’s a bit like the sound of a plane flying over your head Let you listen to the sound of this wind turbine up close Does it sound a bit like the sound of a plane flying by? wow Can see a bit Over there is the Yellow River Both sides are mountains Now only a little mountain can be seen All is mist and fog It’s a bit like the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River Here is written the Three Gorges of the Yellow River This is the appearance without clouds and here Unfortunately, it’s all clouds Wait here and see if the clouds will disperse I waited up there for a while but it didn’t seem like the fog was going to clear anytime soon Then, when a strong gust of wind blew through I could just barely make out the outline of the Yellow River down below So I decided to take out my drone and see if I could finally get a proper look at her This area is part of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir because the Xiaolangdi Dam downstream holds back water and stores floods what used to be the Yellow River flowing through canyons has been blocked up and turned into this massive reservoir The once wild and rushing waters are now calm flowing gently between these steep green mountains on both sides Honestly, the scenery here really reminds me of the Yangtze River’s Three Gorges you know the famous stretch between Chongqing and Hubei It looks so similar that people have started calling this spot the ‘Three Gorges of the Yellow River’ So as I continued driving down the mountain roads near the reservoir I finally reached Xiaolangdi Dam I’m in the lower reaches of Xiaolangdi Dam now Here is a bridge across the Yellow River It’s drizzling in the sky now The view across the river is like a traditional Chinese landscape painting Very poetic Water is not yellow Why does the water become clear here? Just like the rivers in my hometown Sichuan Trees along the riverbanks It looks particularly lush after being wet by the rain It doesn’t look like the dry north in my impression at all It’s just like a Jiangnan water town So beautiful I found a particularly interesting path in the Xiaolangdi scenic along the Yellow River Like a time-space tunnel A little further extension ground was covered with fallen leaves Straight poplar trees The Yellow River in my impression is always that kind of surging, mighty, and turbid water But the water here is still clear scenery on both sides is so beautiful It feels like I’ve arrived by the Yangtze River Why is the Yellow River clear in this section? Water is still, and the sand sinks to the bottom Is it related to that dam as well? water is flowing out from the drainage tunnel The water upstream of the dam is still and the sand sinks down the Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy project sits right at the last gorge section of the middle reaches of the Yellow River Downstream from here you get the vast North China Plain stretching out It was built to fix some of the design flaws of the upstream Sanmenxia Dam It not only helps control floods but also deals with the sediment buildup something that’s been a problem in the Yellow River Basin for thousands of years Thanks to projects like this we get to see the gentler calmer side of the Yellow River And honestly the water here is so clear and transparent now Under that drizzly, soft gray sky it almost feels like I’ve been transported to the beautiful landscapes of southern China After leaving the Xiaolangdi Reservoir I followed the Yellow River east into the North China Plain The roads got super wide here with endless farmland stretching out on both sides This exactly is where China’s earliest dynasty the Xia Dynasty was born along with so many ancient imperial capitals you can really feel the weight of the history here To get a little closer to that history I made my way before sunset to a city literally built over an empire’s mausoleum Gongyi, here in Henan I have arrived at a temple in Gongyi called Grotto Temple Then there are grottoes from the Northern Wei Dynasty Earlier than the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang And there’s no one here today which is National Day Maybe it’s still too niche nearby this place is a small village I always thought that this temple should be in a quiet mountain or it’s surrounded by forests But that’s next to orchard fields look over there and there’s a village Rural houses Especially simple I’ll have a look later This is the ticket for the Grotto Temple Just 30 RMB Then you can see this middle part can be taken apart It’s a postcard This pattern is the most famous ‘Imperial and Imperial Consort Worshiping the Buddha’ of the Grotto Temple This is China’s national treasure This is the only one now Go to the scene to see Looking at pictures and looking at real objects are different The real thing is the kind of shock that can be touched This grotto temple is very interesting Only this huge rock in front of my eyes You see over there and it turns into loess That side is also yellow soil I heard from the old man that this is a huge rock formed naturally So that’s why they chose to excavate grottoes here Just has this geographical advantage If it were loess like this If it were loess like this, it would have been washed away long ago. But stones can last for a thousand years This truly is the creation of nature Wow, it’s so dark And the speaking has an echo above are densely packed small Buddhas In the middle is something similar to a pillar each side is carved with a statue of a Buddha Around are Buddhas or Arhats surrounding a circle This Buddha statue’s hands are embedded Not carved entirely This cave seems to have been only half-excavated You can see that it hasn’t been carved yet Only these Buddhas outside have been carved This is not allowed in, it’s been blocked because the stones might fall down This hidden danger was found when carving so that’s why it stopped You can see that the black one above is darkened by incense burning in ancient time Then this grotto was built in the Tang Dynasty I feel that anything here in Henan is full of history Found the ‘Emperor and Empress Worshipping the Buddha’ on this ticket this side is engraved with emperors Should be the one above Wearing a crown on his head In front of them, a monk was leading them to pay respects to the Buddha Then followed by ministers and palace maidens Below is also a minister hello I just finished visiting the grottoes quite impressive Especially being able to watch these grottoes up close I have visited some such ancient sites before Most are either enclosed by a fence either it is covered by a glass dome Can’t see some details and patterns above But in the Gongyi Grottoes View closely Absolutely unobstructed Right in front of you The feeling of being able to come into close contact with history that spans hundreds to thousands of years is quite amazing These histories may only exist in our textbooks, films, or TV dramas But now you truly see these things that have existed in history That is to say We can know how our ancestors came from What was the original condition of this place An illusion or imagination arises in your mind It can make me imagine how prosperous the scene in this region was during that era Look at these sculptures they’re over 1,500 years old but they feel so incredibly alive standing here it’s like I’ve been transported right back to that era Back then this place was an imperial temple You could hear the deep resonant temple bell ringing out the air thick with the smell of burning incense Serene Buddha statues gaze down on the living beings below while emperors and empresses surrounded by officials and guards made their way slowly to the grottoes to pay their respects Over 1,000 years have passed enough time for palaces to crumble and the Yellow River to change its course But only these solid stone carvings have survived quietly telling the stories of a distant past I’m going to go to the Imperial Mausoleum in Gongyi The most famous here is the Imperial Mausoleum of the Northern Song Dynasty Almost all of the emperors of the Northern Song Dynasty are buried here I’m going to a relatively remote imperial mausoleum It is in a sorghum field It’s close to the original appearance the environment around me feels like driving to the village here Both sides are vegetable fields and farmland There are also residential buildings I don’t know what the current state of this mausoleum is Looking at the pictures online seems pretty good Go and have a look later Imperial Mausoleum of the Northern Song Dynasty It’s in a sorghum field Go down and have a look Sorghum has not yet matured But it is also maturing soon Maybe it’s because it rained these days Generally, it turns red by this season If it’s red it should look better with those stone statues Look at those stone statues it has been more than 900 years This pattern is still clearly visible The stone sculpture in front is a unique auspicious beast of the Northern Song Imperial Mausoleum Also known as the Horse Head Phoenix It can be seen that its head is like a horse Then the body is a bird Actually, it’s a phoenix The legend is a auspicious beast that protects the country Only in the Northern Song Dynasty Imperial Mausoleum Then the first one is the Huabiao (Totem) the elephant auspicious beast The horseman and the emperor’s carriage horse Further on, this should be a lion Two sheep Then this is a sculpture of palace maids This should be a eunuch (correction: it is actually an envoy) Further on, these are civil and military officials Then there are two big lions guarding the mausoleum and two warriors In the middle is the emperor’s mausoleum This warrior is so tall Lively and vivid Feels like he’s alive and just knocked me down These stone statues and stone soldiers are used for praying for blessings For example, auspicious beasts elephants, lions and sheep are all prayers for the peace of the country and the people This is a cultural relic protection station Should be the guardian of the imperial mausoleum Are you the guardian of this imperial mausoleum? yeah Which emperor’s mausoleum is this? The sixth emperor of the Northern Song dynasty Does every mausoleum have a guardian? Yes, each mausoleum has The stone statues were not erected in the past they must have fallen over all these years Has always been standing since ancient times The earth buried it In the past, this was the ground (where I stood) Yes It’s possible that the area below was originally ground but the ground level has risen later Just like Kaifeng City, one layer on top of another there was a ravine below in the past What kind of buildings were those two moils in the past? That’s the tower Now these wooden buildings are all gone There is a road extending out with towers on both sides I also heard it from the elderly The main gate of the imperial mausoleum All around are gate towers The scale was larger in the past Yes this is just the core area four gates in the east, west, north and south I guess this imperial tomb cannot be so small uncle’s sheep ran up to the royal mausoleum to graze and refused to come down The stone statues here have not been excavated The stone statue just now was dug out later This should be its original appearance Those stone statues only show half of their body In fact, there should be 2 meters below The height now is up to my waist Showed half of his body out Over 900 years they were buried in soil covering half their body Don’t look up, I can look at it levelly directly This area is full of the mausoleums of the emperor and empress This is too much, and still one in the distance Before the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty there were many royal tomb guardians here At the beginning, the guard of the tomb may be soldiers or officials Later, as time passed they gradually settled down and multiplied Live here and farm the land Finally settled here Then, after all these years passed local cultural relics bureau once again protected these imperial mausoleum Hire descendants from the local village to protect the royal mausoleum here This is actually the same work their ancestors did back then in guarding these imperial tombs their mission will continue in the future These Northern Song imperial mausoleums were actually looted way back when the dynasty fell in 1127 What you see now these huge mounds of earth were piled up by later generations in memory of the emperors After thousands of years these mounds are totally covered with trees and weeds blending right into the nearby sorghum fields If it weren’t for these stone guardian statues still standing in the fields you’d hardly know this was once an imperial burial ground I came to a local park Then this park was built on an imperial Mausoleum just transforming an imperial mausoleum into a city park locals often take a stroll after dinner here I have already arrived inside Mausoleum Park Because of the rain, few people come out for a walk I’m not quite sure if this road can lead out But I saw that there was also a man walking ahead I can only follow him It’s quite scary for someone to walk around in this mausoleum at night Follow the older brother’s steps and don’t get lost I just saw a woman walking around with her dog It’s really amazing Walking a dog in the royal mausoleum It’s unbelievable Oh, there are two stone lions here And this mausoleum is in the city area You can hear the whistle and see the lights of the city around This is okay, unlike that in the fields I would not go to the royal mausoleum in the field at night even if you killed me I am now at the main gate of the royal mausoleum Finally, there are a few more people This is the emperor’s mausoleum so big Standing at the door, a cold wind blows This is a stone statue This is at least four or five meters tall Wow, it’s too big Citizens taking a stroll These two rows are all stone statues It’s too quiet here at night Only a few scattered pedestrians and tourists And the sound of insects chirping Feels like time has condensed into this moment These stones and the mausoleum have lasted for more than 900 years For more than 900 years, they have listened day after day to the sounds of insects and birds One cannot help but marvel at how quickly time flies Can only imagine that the Northern Song Dynasty is so close to us yet so far away There are many things left from this dynasty But all that the emperor left behind were his achievements and these stone statues I feel that human beings are like a grain of sand in front of time So I was chatting with this elderly gentleman while walking and he told me this Song Dynasty mausoleum actually used to be surrounded by farmland Later, they rebuilt the watchtowers the Sacred Way and the imperial city right on the original site What we’re seeing now is probably pretty close to how it looked before it fell into ruin majestic and grand with that solemn, imperial vibe But now you’ve got people strolling along this sacred way playing chess and cards right outside the imperial city and there’s even an amusement park set up in the mausoleum’s square The contrast is just so striking Then, a light rain started falling again Looking at the reflection of the watchtower in a puddles underground It felt like all that history all the glory of the past was just like those reflections in the rainwater Nothing but an illusion something beautiful but you can’t really grasp I got back to Yuncheng just in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival Honestly, it was my first time spending the Mid Autumn alone I went out for hot pot that night and every other table was filled with families and friends celebrating together and it felt pretty weird being by myself But hey, Yuncheng’s Mid-Autumn night views were actually pretty nice Seeing all the lights and full moon I just felt this wish rise up inside for peace across the land and happy reunions for every family Okay guys, so that’s wrap up this video The Yellow River is long and there are so many landscapes and stories along its banks waiting for us to explore And of course we can’t forget there’s an even longer river the Yangtze River We’ll definitely explore more places when we get a chance So don’t forget to like subscribe and follow along Catch you in the next one! Bye

In the north of China, there is a long river flowing from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in the west to the Bohai Sea in the east, which is the Yellow River. She has nurtured the thousand-year-old Chinese civilization and is known as the mother river of China.
In this episode, I came to the junction of the three provinces of Henan, Shanxi, and Shaanxi where the Yellow River flows through. Here, the Yellow River forms unique natural landscapes, and this area was also where Chinese civilization originated, with countless historical relics and distinct cultural customs.
Let’s go with me to explore this once ‘Ancient Yellow River Homeland’ ~
