通常非公開の寺院ですが2025.11.15に公開されました。無料で、この豪華さは信じられません。そのためか寺院の志納料箱は誰もお寺の方が居ないのにお金を入れる観光客が後をたちません。紅葉のピークです。行くなら今。金戒光明寺の塔頭（たつちゆう）で、初めての人には分かりにくいですが、穴場中の穴場です。

栄摂院は浄土宗の大本山『金戒光明寺』の塔頭寺院で1589年（天正17年）に、三河の時代から徳川家康に仕えた武将・木俣守勝によって建立されました。通常は非公開ですが、秋のみ庭園が特別公開されています。規模は小さいながら、山の斜面の中央に鎮座する石の仏像と豪華な紅葉が劇的な異空間を演出しており京都屈指の隠れた紅葉スポットとして外すことのできない名所です。

Eisho-in is a sub-temple of the Jodo sect’s head temple, “Konkai-komyoji,” also known as “Kurodani,” located in Kyoto. It was founded in 1589 (the 17th year of the Tensho era) by the warrior Kimata Morikatsu, who served Tokugawa Ieyasu since the Sengoku period in Mikawa. While it is usually not open to the public, the garden is specially opened in autumn. Although small in size, the stone Buddha statue situated in the center of the slope of the mountain and the gorgeous autumn leaves create a dramatic and otherworldly atmosphere, making it one of Kyoto’s must-see hidden autumn foliage spots.
