Sunrise Tour of ANGKOR WAT in CAMBODIA in 2024! | Plus Ta Prohm, Ta Nei & Bayon Temples

today we will be exploring the absolutely massive magnificent anchor watch we have come to anart this morning and have just watched the sunrise unfortunately not a whole lot happened obviously the sun rose it’s light now which was pretty cool I guess arriving when it was Pitch Black and then now that it’s light we can kind of see the temple in all its Glory but no pretty colors or anything like that it is wild how many people are here I mean Sunrise is most popular time to visit angle I imagine but just the sheer number of people and you kind of see a few as we got here and then you turn over and the crowds just kept growing and growing it’s pretty beautiful so far we’re definitely going to go in and explore a bit more and visit a few of the other temples as well during the course of the day I’m sure I look very tired we’ve been up since it’s 3:30 getting up this early should be illegal so today might be a bit of a struggle but we’ll get through so our guide had told us the sunrise was at 6:15 and we got there at about 20 5 so we sat there for an hour but of course the second we get up from our front row spots you can see the sun peeping out behind the temple always don’t have enough patience but we did wait a very long time very bright red Sun there poking out now [Music] and what is the largest religious site in the entire world and it’s a mix of Hindu and Buddhism it’s not currently used for any prayer or worship it’s more of a tourist site but it is considered a mix it was originally Hindu and then was taken over to be a bit of a Buddhist site we are learning so much on this tour and it’s not even 7:30 in the morning did you know that ankle B actually translates to City Temple so it’s like the city of temples which makes sense because it’s the biggest kind of religious s in the entire world like they said so we’re stopping off at four main temples today obviously we’re at anchor right now which is the big one and we’re about to go up these very steep looking stairs to somewhere that our tour guide recommends checking out because it’s a lot cooler up top apparently and offers some pretty good views so we booked this toour with get your guide it was about $2 $25 each I’m not sure I’ll put it down on the screen below we have to buy our tickets to Anor separately and those are the ones that cost a lot of money and only buy them from the website the Anor website itself and because we’re doing a tour today we get a tour gu which is always really handy cuz we learn a lot of stuff we wouldn’t otherwise know we don’t have a lot of time to research and even if we’re did you just learn fun facts you might not learn otherwise for example anchor is unique unque in a number of ways we already talked about how it’s the biggest site of worship in the entire world but another way that this Temple is unique is due to the fact that the king at the time I think requested it face West I want to say where typically most temples I think face East and that has to do with how the sun rises in the East and sets in the west and that’s symbolic in that temples generally face the East because it faces the side of life whereas I think the king wanted this Temple to face the West so it would be more like his tomb which I thought was really interesting but it is now approaching about 10 8 so we’re making our way back to the bus because Anor what this area is so big you have to either get in a tuck Tock or on a bike or in a bus to go between temples so that’s exactly what we’re doing and this next Temple I’m pretty excited for because I’ve heard that pretty well-known movie was filmed there [Music] we’ve come to our second stop of the day which is tar prom Temple featured in Tomb Raider the truth is I haven’t maybe ever seen the two movie but I did used to play the Tom game on PlayStation 1 or Playstation 2 or both so I’m a little bit familiar the same thing it’s the same thing I know that Angelina Jolie starred in the film because she’s Mr T’s EX girlfriend other than that I think Stace and I have some homework to do fingers crosss on Netflix cuz that is the only thing available here in CIA hey guys we did in fact go home and watch the movie and unfortunately cannot [Music] [Music] recommend we absolutely in our sweating era here in Cambodia I don’t know if you can see I’m dripping it is 40° every single day we are in Cambodia apparently April is the hottest month who knew it’s such a a random month to be the hottest month what what even season is that but 40° every single day fortunately we’ beat a lot of that this morning considering we’ve been up 5 and 1/2 hours already but we still do have quite a few hours left of our tour two more stops after this one and we’ve only just started this one this is’s a lot more sweating to come I [Music] apologize Mr T just said that over here that’s what angle actually looked like for cour was restored so most of the temples we’re visiting today have been restored in some way I think there is one I think one he said that is as is maybe but he said yeah it used to just look like kind of rubble which is wild you’re little I’m sweating so much and it’s only 30° and it’s going to be 40 it’s 30° but it probably feels like 40 right now so when it’s 40 it’ll feel like 50 yeah guys Mr te is so funny refers to our group of family so when he wants us all gather he yells at family family family family and he loves putting on accents too keeps saying take a photo photoo it’s really funny this tree is literally growing out of that building and Mr T says that the tree is supporting the building and the building is supporting the tree so if one goes both go that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen like it’s literally growing outside of the building those are its roots coming down off the ceiling and the roots are huge I’m speechless this tree has a hole in it all the way through and we finally made it to the location where Mr T and Angelina Jolly had their meat C right here underneath that big tree you get goosebumps just being here what a shame that relationship didn’t work out it actually looks like this tree has given birth to this building or it’s like a b to eat it guys don’t get me wrong Anor what was so cool I mean it’s the biggest as we said it’s the biggest religious site in the whole world so you can’t really get over that but this is my favorite so far I mean you’ve literally got trees coming out of buildings like life growing out of things that isn’t full of life it’s I don’t know spiritual so I think this is definitely moved to the top of my temple list and we’ve been to a lot of temples on our year of travel previously my top Temple was in Thailand Chang ra and I’ll put the video up there if you’d like to see that but this is really really cool I think it’s definitely worth a visit and if you’re coming to Anor anyway you got to visit this one too but Mr T said his favorite Temple is number four so we still got two more to go it’ll be interesting to see where they all end up ranking after a quick I was going to say lunch stop but it was at 9:30 in the morning after a quick food stop we’re back at the Third Temple now tar Temple now our guide was saying something cool he was describing the four temples we go to today he said ankor what’s described as the most beautiful the last one we went to that name has escaped me he says is amazing this one is peaceful and the last one is wonderful which I think is pretty cool it’s definitely very peaceful here very quiet not a lot of tourists unlike the first two so let’s go check it out we only have a short stop here about 20 minutes so we’ll duck in and see what it’s like [Music] we are actually in Sam R during the New Year celebrations which kick off tomorrow however when you’re watching this video that video probably came out a few weeks ago mixing things up but Kade New Year starts tomorrow runs for 4 days here in samry we’re so excited to see what sort of Celebration take place hopefully you enjoyed that video and if you haven’t seen it we will put that one up there as well it’s our first command New Year it’s kind of our first big New Year celebration overseas so we’re pretty excited to check it out and see what it’s like I’m sure we had a great time from early impressions of here tar Temple I’d definitely say this is one of the ones our guide was referring to when he said it hasn’t really been restored there’s definitely a lot of like yeah Rubble but bigger like around it definitely isn’t like fully sculpted or anything like you would see it anchor what so definitely a bit more untouch this one which is kind of cool not that the others weren’t cool but and I can’t hear anyone else it’s so peaceful look at the size of this rout and similar to the last one here there is like trees kind of growing through in this case the rubble so if you can see behind me here this kind of root here is growing through the rubble so there’s a bit of that as well which I have to say I love like anle was super beautiful don’t get me wrong but there’s something so cool as Rush kind of mentioned about the trees growing through the temple it’s very cool and I’ve noticed like all the temples we’ve seen are very much kind of that one neutral color which I guess is maybe a Cambodian thing but definitely very different to some of the other temples we’ve seen on our travels we’ve seen all white temples we’ve seen bright blue temples all different pops of color but these ones are very neutral just kind of rock limestone Looking In Color it’s so fun now that we have the two cameras if you missed it some of our previous videos we do now have two cameras Rush has got our main Vlog camera over there which is linked in the description if you’re curious as to what gear we use or you can check out on our website I did a whole article on all our camera gear but she’s got our main Vlog camera over there and I’m filming on the DJI osmo pocket 3 which is a new little gift we bought for ourselves we initially intended it to be for in crowded environments and restaurants and things like that where it’s a bit harder to get out this big giant camera but we’re just loving it we’re loving each of us having a camera and being able to film our different perspectives and now we’ve got a bit of inception going on as well but no this this bad boy has been really good and I mean the quality has been almost as good if not just as good as our main big camera over there so we can’t complain too much about that plus I get to do this and if you are new around here I’m Stacy and that’s rash in the background we’re go for launch we’ve been traveling the world for 10 months at the time of filming this video by the time you see it it might be 10 and 1/2 months maybe even closer to 11: but we’re going for a full 12 months filming all our travels we have two new countries left on our list we still got quite a few months left and plenty of Trouble Adventures past that as well so if you’re enjoying the video we’d appreciate if you subscribe like the video if you enjoy it as well we’re super excited our next country coming up is a brand new one for both of us and we’re super excited about it plus we have some special guests joining us as well so in typical Rush fashion I think I’ve spoken too early I said that the second temple was my favorite one this one is definitely equal it is I think there’s just something really cool about it being a little bit in Ruins like it has that untouched feeling so it makes it feel like the age that it actually is which is pretty amazing also does it remind anybody else of Temple Run because that’s the the vibe I’m getting here I wanted to do a bit of a Temple Run myself but stac said it probably wasn’t allowed wow Natalie it’s a little House Bunny reference to all those who watch we watched that movie for the first time the other day and that’s like the one really funny scene it wasn’t an amazing movie but Natalie Natalie and this has meant to be a really cinematic shot but now it’s just Natalie one downside about doing a group tour is I don’t like being late and I don’t like being the last one’s back so when you get given a time to go back I get very anxious about missing that time or being the last one’s back Rush on the other hand has no hustle she doesn’t care not that she wants to hold people up but she’s like it’ll be fine we’ll get there on the exact time they said to come back but me I’m now coming back alone because Rush wants to film more of the inside but I need to make an appearance for go for lunch so we both aren’t late I have 2 minutes can I do it and now I’ve lost a and I’m in the temple by myself and it’s starting to feel a little bit spooky so it’s time we find stays stays oh I see her in the distance time to head to our last [Music] Temple okay family we have made it to the fourth and final Temple which is the wonderful Temple according to Mr tea and look it is pretty wonderful it’s very interesting they’re all unique they’re all similar but also all very unique this one is definitely not as like in Ruins as the last two that we visited and in comparison to Anor wat it’s obviously a lot smaller but it’s all cool to kind of walk in and around there are little Parts where it kind of feels like it’s air conditioned just with the the way the wind comes through and Mr te took us to a sculpture or a stone type thing that is kind of woried or known as being the fertility Stone Mr had a different name for it it was a really funny name but I’m not going to repeat it but essentially he had his own personal story where he and his wife were having trouble having a baby and so he decided that every day he’d come to work he’d touch the stone and 9 months later his wife was pregnant so I thought that was a pretty awesome story so as with Anka which is kind of a Hindu Buddhist temple you can see touches of that at this one as well which is so cool because I’ve never seen like the merging of two religions like you can see uh like Mr T said there are fa is of like Gods I guess in the rocks and you can tell which one are Hindu gods because they have the third eye on their forehead but then there’s also Buddha statues throughout the interior of the temple which is so cool I’ve never seen two different religions kind of represented in the same place of worship given it’s 40° today one of probably the biggest benefit is that after every single stop we get an ice cold bottle of water when we get back on the Bus Plus a nice cold refreshing Tower that’s seriously half the reason we booked the tour plus the air conditioned bus and that’s all for today’s tour and our time here in Cambodia it was short and sweet but we had such a good time and I’m sure we’ll have a good time at K New Year which again you’ll have already seen if you enjoyed the video give it a like subscribe to our Channel if you haven’t already we’ll see you in country number 20 but if you’re looking for something else to watch click over here to watch our time at Comm New Year and click down there if you want to see us eat our way through hoochi Min City and ride motorbikes see you in the next one Bye by Natalie
