【宿泊記】東京マリオットホテル「ザ・ゴテンヤマスイート」滞在記|エグゼクティブラウンジ・朝食ビュッフェ・御殿山庭園も紹介

Hello everyone, this is Ekotabi. Today, I’m staying at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel for our wedding anniversary! The reception is on the first floor. There are lots of large TWG cans. It doesn’t really feel like a hotel lobby. The reception is behind it. The welcome drink was a salty lychee juice. We were upgraded to a sweets room! Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we were told we could wait in the lounge on the 26th floor. The Executive Lounge is quite spacious. It’s afternoon tea time. We can enjoy light snacks, cakes, and fruit. From the lounge, you can see Oimachi, Shinagawa, and Tokyo Bay in the distance. This… it says ice cream parfait, but it’s actually ice cream choux. The small display case has cakes, cheese, fruit, and vegetable sticks. There’s also orange and kiwi fruit. The drinks section has a casual selection of wine… I want to take some home. They also have some expensive-looking chocolate. I prefer KitKat. They offer all-you -can-drink TWG, a luxury tea brand from Singapore. I mainly picked up chocolate and fruit. Enjoy afternoon tea while waiting for your room to be prepared. It’s getting dark outside… Before I knew it, time had passed and evening cocktail time had begun in the Executive Lounge. A hotel staff member had just contacted me, saying the air conditioning in the sweet room I was being prepared for was malfunctioning and urgently being repaired. They said they could prepare another room right away, but since the sweet room I was upgraded to is a special room with only two, I decided to wait patiently. The lounge was comfortable, so it wasn’t a problem. The cocktail-time dinner was pretty good. I was curious about the kalbi soup. They had sweets here. They were quite different from the afternoon tea sweets. There was also a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. There was a beer server next to the coffee maker. I had dinner. I enjoyed that while waiting for my room to be prepared. They also brought me curry and kishimen noodles with kalbi soup. Finally, my room was ready! I went in right away! The room I was upgraded to today was the hotel’s signature suite, “The Gotenyama Suite”! Wow… amazing… And they even offered champagne as a welcome drink!? Such hospitality is wonderful. The champagne looks expensive. The Executive Lounge is open from 6:30 AM to 10 PM. Breakfast is available in the lounge or the restaurant on the first floor. This room, “The Gotenyama Suite,” is 82 square meters. In addition to a dining table, there’s a round table perfect for work. The name “Gotenyama” comes from the fact that the hotel’s location once housed the villa of Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Edo shogunate. The living room is spacious, but the bedroom is almost entirely occupied by the bed, making it a bit small. The bed is a Simmons super king-size. The bathroom and toilet are in the back. There’s a Bible here. The closet is separate. It doesn’t feel particularly luxurious. The slippers look a little nice. Here are pajamas. Yukata-style. Here’s the sink. There are two sinks. This area is typical of a suite. Here’s a bathrobe. Here’s the toilet. There’s another toilet near the entrance, which I’ll introduce later. Here’s the bathroom. The marble-effect walls give it a luxurious feel. Oh! There’s a TV. The bathtub is quite long. The facilities are luxurious, but the slippers, pajamas, and other amenities don’t seem particularly luxurious. It’s a bit of a waste. Drinks in the refrigerator are available for an additional fee. Wine and snacks are also available for an additional fee. The furnishings look expensive. The Marriott-logo mug is cute. Isn’t it a bit stingy to only have four Nespresso capsules in a case of six? This is the other restroom. It’s dark and relaxing, but the sink is a little small. There are only six rooms on this floor. Now that I’ve finished exploring my room, I’ll take a stroll at night. The lobby has a very different atmosphere between day and night. This is what the hotel looks like from the outside. There aren’t many lights on? The Yamanote Line is right behind the hotel. Hmm, it seems like it’s under-utilized. I returned to the hotel and went to the fitness room on the first floor. There’s a treadmill, etc. Apparently they offer takeout protein smoothies. I returned to my room. After a bath, I was ready to go to bed. The TV in the bathroom only showed terrestrial channels. Since I’m here, I’ll try the bath salts provided as an amenity. The TV is 42 inches. Of course, I can watch Internet TV here. Before I go to sleep, I’ll take a look at the night view from my room – I think it’s a view of Oimachi and Kitashinagawa. It’s a typical Tokyo view. Well, goodnight . Good morning. The curtains are automatic. The morning view is a bit hazy , isn’t it? The Tokyo Marriott Hotel is perched on a hill, so the view is great. The windows face east, so plenty of sunlight pours into the room in the morning. Anyway, I went for the breakfast buffet! You can eat in the Executive Lounge, but I heard the restaurant on the first floor, “Lounge & Dining G,” has a wider selection, so I went there! I showed up at the restaurant when it opened at 6:30 and was the first one there (lol) . The steamed baskets had xiaolongbao, shumai, and chimaki. They looked incredibly delicious. There were a huge variety of dressings. You can cut the cheese yourself. Ham, salmon. So many things I like. Bread and donuts. The donuts are allergen-free, made without wheat flour or eggs. It’s honeycomb. So luxurious! Honey drips down the side. There’s a wide variety of breads. You can warm it up in an Aladdin oven. They also have cereal. Three types of milk. Next to them is juice. The drinks here are pretty eye-catching. Three types of yogurt. A wide variety of fruit. The food here is Japanese. Homemade tofu! That’s great. Wow, mapo sauce. It looks delicious, but what is it used for? That miso looks delicious. I’m curious. At the Egg Station, they not only make omelets, but also eggs Benedict, French brulee, and pancakes. Well, we’ve picked a few things up. I ordered a white omelet from the Egg Station. My wife’s omelet was topped with beer stew. I poured the honeycomb honey on her baguette. My wife had yogurt with strawberry sauce. I’m full. Thank you for the meal. For some post-dinner exercise, I plan to take a short walk in Gotenyama Garden, next to the hotel. It’s said to be about 6,600 square meters, so I’ll go for a light stroll. As I was leaving the restaurant, the staff offered me some TWG tea. After checking out, I was now in front of Shinagawa Station. Shinagawa is currently undergoing redevelopment. This is the end of today’s video. Thank you for watching.
