伊勢原の町を歩き続け、鎮守の森に囲まれた雷電神社にたどり着いた。創建は平安期とも伝わり、境内に並ぶ古い石には地域の長い歴史が刻まれている。この広さは子どもたちの遊び場でもあり、鎌倉時代や江戸時代の子どもたちもここで遊んでいたのかと思うと、不思議な時間の重なりを感じさせる。道を進むと串橋・宮ノ根遺跡が公園として整備されており、遊水地の景観に古代の記憶が重なっていた。迷いながらたどり着いた妙蔵寺には黄金仏が輝き、境内にある石は登録文化財として保存されていた。さらに進むと箕輪駅跡があり、かつて駅家が置かれ馬の乗り継ぎが行われていたことを伝えている。今はただの一角に過ぎないが、往来の要所だった時代を想像すると胸が熱くなる。やがて神明神社を経て西光寺へ。境内にはバスケットゴールがあり、祈りの場と日常の遊び場がひとつに溶け合っていた。伊勢原を歩く道は、歴史の名残と現代の生活が交わり、過去と今が同じ景色の中に並んでいることを静かに教えてくれた。
