川崎観光スポット|川崎大師の仲見世通り巡り|ダルマとお蕎麦と/ Kawasaki Daishi Walk, Daruma & Soba #travelvlog #sightseeing
Hello everyone. This is Shota, your travel guide. It’s been a while! Today, I’m visiting a tourist spot that’s synonymous with Kawasaki, about a 20-minute train ride and walk from SAKE Kura Hotel Kawasaki-juku. It’s Kawasaki Daishi. Kawasaki Daishi! Finally here. Kawasaki doesn’t have many tourist attractions, but Kawasaki Daishi is incredibly famous, so I thought I’d check it out. Before heading to Kawasaki Daishi, I came across Nakamise Street. It’s a weekday, but it’s incredibly busy. Cough lozenges… Apparently, there are about 30 shops on Nakamise Street. There’s a Daruma doll shop and a candy store. It’s nice. It feels more compact and easier to navigate than Asakusa. Even on a weekday, it’s packed. There’s also a rice cracker shop. See, there’s a candy shop. They even sell ton-toko candy. Apparently, they cut the candy and tonkotoko tonkotoko. After all, when you’re a tourist, food is just as important as worship. It’s a Kawasaki ambassador specialty. Daruma shop. Speaking of Kawasaki Daishi, Daruma is the one. Of course. Amazing Daruma. Look, look. Not just red… but white, too. There’s even a gold one. Oh, they’re colorful! Wait, are Daruma like this now? Apparently each one has a meaning. Purple is for longevity. Yellow is for good fortune, pink is for love, and green is for academic success. It’d be fun to display them all at home. I’m hungry before sightseeing, so I think I’ll go to a soba restaurant. Well, everyone, thank you for today. Cheers! Delicious! Kawasaki Daishi is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel to Keikyu Kawasaki Station, and about 5 minutes from Keikyu Kawasaki Station to Kawasaki Daishi Station. It’s actually surprisingly close. About 10 minutes by taxi. It’s a soba restaurant, but I ordered smoked duck. First, a little appetizer. Let’s eat. It looks delicious. Very juicy and delicious. It has just the right amount of fat. The difference between mori soba and zaru soba. The only difference in appearance is whether or not there’s seaweed on top of the soba. Zaru soba has shredded seaweed on top, while mori soba doesn’t. That’s the only difference in appearance. Soba used to be dumpling-shaped. It took on a noodle-like shape around the 16th century. Restaurants serving noodle-shaped soba became popular during the Edo period. Edoites were impatient, so they wanted to eat quickly, so they put soba in dipping sauce, which became bukkake soba. To distinguish bukkake soba from the traditional way of eating it, soba dipped in dipping sauce came to be called mori soba. I ordered sake. It was Sawa no Tsuru. It’s the ultimate sake. The bamboo steamer soba arrived. Since it’s bamboo steamer soba, there’s no seaweed. It feels like summer. Yeah, it’s delicious! It’s really summer. There’s music playing that sounds like Bon Odori (a traditional Japanese dance). Let’s go, Kawasaki Daishi. This is the main gate. This atmosphere is amazing, isn’t it? It’s in the mood for Bon Odori. It feels like the wind chime market starts today. That’s why it’s so crowded. Hello. Excuse me, I’ll have it. Is this music always playing? It’s only at the Wind Chime Market. I can see something. This must be a dragon. Temples often have dragons as a prayer to prevent fires. Dragons are like the god of water. Sensoji Temple also has a dragon on the back of its lantern like this. I’ve come to Kawasaki Daishi! I thought it was only a winter destination, but summer might be nice, too. There’s a flower inside, so it’s stylish. You don’t see these types of wind chimes very often. There’s no fire… I wonder if it’s lit here? I couldn’t find where the fire was, but there was charcoal here. It’s hot! It’s really hot here. I hope my head, face, vocabulary, and height grow. I hope it reaches the channel. It’ll be nice to wear this scent all day. It feels like I’m at a temple. Well, I’m off.
