Few VERY IMPORTANT THINGS to keep in mind before planning a trip to Shirakawa-go, Japan ๐1๏ธโฃ PLACES TO SEE:๐๐ป Historic Houses (Kanda House, Nagase House, Wada House)๐๐ป Museums (Tajima Museum of Silk, Myozenji Temple Museum)๐๐ป Observatory Deck (Ogimachi Castle, Tenshukaku Observatory)2๏ธโฃ VISITING HOURS:๐๐ป March to Nov: 8:30am – 5pm๐๐ป Dec to Feb: 9am – 5pm3๏ธโฃ HOW TO REACH:๐๐ป You can take a Nohi Bus to Shirakawa-go from Toyama or Kanazawa๐๐ป You can also take a Shinkansen to Toyama and then a Nohi Bus to Shirakawa-go๐๐ป You can also book a day tour from Nagoya.๐ IMPORTANT NOTE:๐๐ป There is a parking space outside the village where you must park your vehicle, and then you can explore the town on foot. NO OUTSIDE VEHICLES are allowed within the village premises.๐๐ป If the parking space is full, you will need to wait in a queue outside the village until it gets vacant.๐๐ป From Nagoya, it’s approximately a 2-hour journey. It’so highly advisable to start your journey early in the morning, as there’s a high risk of getting stuck in traffic jams.๐๐ป And once stuck in the jam, you may have to wait in a long queue to enter.๐๐ป So much so that many visitors have to wait until 5 pm and then return without visiting. So START EARLY!
