Hello friends, it’s a pleasure to welcome you to a new video! Today I’m at the place where the dreams of millions of tourists from Argentina and around the world begin: Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Ezeiza, Buenos Aires. Let’s start our tour by entering the international arrivals area. It’s 1:30 AM. I’m sleepy, but I know the effort is worth it. We’re going to explore the entire airport . As we walk, I’ll give you some information about it. Ministro Pistarini International Airport is an international air terminal serving the Buenos Aires metropolitan area in Argentina. It’s located in the town of the same name, within the municipality of Ezeiza, 35 km from the center of the capital city. Aeropuertos Argentina belongs to Corporación América Airports, a global company that operates 53 terminals in 6 countries, making it the largest private operator in the world. Who is the head of Ezeiza Airport? Sebastián Villar Guarino, General Manager of UN Ezeiza. We’re passing right under the sculpture “The Sun” by the artist Le Parc. Don’t worry, we’ll go around it and then I’ll dedicate a few minutes to this striking sculpture. Let’s continue enjoying the tour. At this point, we can compare this airport with the others we’ve been visiting together. On the channel, you’ll see the airports of Lima, Havana, Florianópolis, Porto Seguro, and Aeroparque. This airport is the main direct entry point for long-haul international flights to the country, as domestic and regional connections mostly operate from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, making it the largest and most modern air terminal in Argentina. It recently received a score of over 8 out of 10 in the 2019 AirHelp Score evaluation, earning it 20th place in this ranking. It is currently the international operations base for Aerolíneas Argentinas. It is also home to the Ezeiza Naval Air Station of the Argentine Navy. Inaugurated in 1949, it was the world’s largest air base for three years. It operates with several airlines. Given its geographic location in the southern part of the continent and its market size, a significant portion of its flights to destinations such as Canada, Europe, Asia, and Africa connect through intermediate cities like São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. In January 2017, Interior Minister Rogelio Frigerio presented the Advance Passenger Information system, which streamlines immigration procedures and provides accurate information on the criminal records of passengers entering the country. In March 2018, the Argentine government presented a $15 billion investment plan to transform Ezeiza International Airport. The expansions include: the completion of a new 109-meter control tower; and a new 64,300 m² multi-level parking garage with 800 parking spaces. The total investment for this expansion is $750 million. New Roadways. Investment: US$200 million. New Departure Building of 39,800 m². Investment: US$3.2 billion. New Arrival Building of 65,700 m². Investment: US$3.9 billion. New Boarding Areas of 37,330 m². Investment: US$1.17 billion. Connector between the Departure and Arrival Terminals of 16,000 m². Investment: US$520 million. Terminal A will be transformed into the Domestic Terminal. Self-check-in kiosks from 32 to 64. I’m not the only one who’s sleepy. The airport has several terminals: Terminal A, inaugurated in 2000, is used by almost all international airlines operating at the airport (except SkyTeam carriers). This terminal is the most complete and varied of the three that make up the airport. It has several restaurants, bars, cafes, a pharmacy, souvenir shops, bookstores, free Wi-Fi, passport renewal services, an Argentine Post Office branch, kiosks, and more. Terminal B is currently under renovation. Only its pre-boarding area was inaugurated in 2013. Plans are currently underway to complete the remaining areas, both departures and arrivals, by 2016. The new Terminal B, representing an investment of 570 million pesos, was inaugurated in March 2013. After 17 months of construction, it doubled the airport’s operational capacity. The terminal has 42,300 m² of apron, five boarding bridges, and 28,795 m² of covered terminal space. 720 m² for retail and food services, 20 check-in counters, 34 immigration counters, and 376 additional parking spaces. In addition, 5,391 m² of international pre-boarding space, 2,290 m² in the arrivals hall, and 200 m² for VIP lounges were added. When the project is fully completed, Ezeiza will have the capacity to handle 13 million passengers annually and perform 90,000 operations within that same timeframe. It will also feature 186,000 m² of apron, 21 jet bridges, 4,800 parking spaces, and 200 check-in counters. It will have the capacity to process 4,000 passengers during peak hours, thus meeting immediate and future growth. Terminal C is used by Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral Líneas Aéreas (domestic flights only) for arrivals and departures of their domestic flights and for departures of international flights. It is also used for departures of flights from the SkyTeam alliance airlines: ITA Airways, Air France, Delta Air Lines, and KLM, except for Air Europa and Aeroméxico. Now, if we look closer at “The Sun,” by the Argentine artist Julio Le Parc, inaugurated in April 2024, it is a large golden sphere composed of 2,913 pieces of mirrored stainless steel and is designed as a tribute to the Argentine flag. The artwork measures 10 meters in diameter, weighs 2,100 kilos, and is suspended 19 meters high in the central hall of the departures terminal, reflecting the light and the movement of the passengers. El Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini (ANAC: EZE – IATA: EZE – OACI: SAEZ), conocido comúnmente como Aeropuerto Internacional de Ezeiza, es una terminal aérea internacional que sirve al área metropolitana de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Se encuentra la localidad homónima, dentro del municipio de Ezeiza, a 35 km del centro de la capital del país. La categoría OACI es 4F.

Es la principal entrada directa de vuelos internacionales de larga distancia al país, ya que las conexiones de cabotaje y regionales operan en su mayoría desde el Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, lo que la convierte en la terminal aérea más grande y moderna de la Argentina. Recientemente recibió una calificación superior a los 8 puntos sobre 10 en la evaluación de AirHelp Score 2019, que le valió el puesto 20.º en esta clasificación.

Actualmente es la base de operaciones de Aerolíneas Argentinas a nivel internacional. Asimismo, es sede de la Estación Aeronaval de Ezeiza de la Armada Argentina.

Inaugurado en 1949, fue durante tres años la base aérea más grande del mundo. Opera con varias aerolíneas. Dada su ubicación geográfica en el sur del continente y tamaño de mercado, una parte importante de sus vuelos a destinos como Canadá, Europa, Asia y África son con escala en ciudades intermedias como São Paulo o Río de Janeiro.
