First Time in Lamphun / EPIC Thai Food Tour on Motorbike / Loy Krathong 2025

Hey hey hey, welcome back to our hungry adventures! Guys, we are in Northern Thailand and our next destination is Lamphun province. Province which is often overlooked by international visitors. And we’ve got choice today. For some reason it is raining pretty hard. Last night I’ve got notification from the government about possible floodings and wild water coming from the mountains, which is really bad. So we’ve got choice. This is a beautiful wide smooth road heading to Lampang and then to Lamphun city. It is a comfortable ride. And there is another road heading to the mountains.
It’s a little bit more narrow.. and it is a winding road. So, we will have to ride left and right, left and right, up and down many, many, many times. And considering the fact it will be raining in maybe 1 hour or so..
What do you think we should choose? Comfortable ride to the city or unknown exciting ride in the mountains? I know.. I know what you’re going to answer.
So.. join me in this hungry adventure! It’s going to be interesting. Let’s go! So, we officially entered Lamphun Province from the southern end of the province. And here on this hill there is a beautiful temple and its name is..
“Phra Chedi Sri Witchaya Chom Khiri” Srivijaya Chomkiri Pagoda standing on the hill right along the road.. And actually Lamphun province is a province of many mountains, many hills and temples. There will be dozens of them along the road,
which makes the ride enjoyable. However, I believe it is time to to look for a shelter or for a bed,
or maybe for a restaurant to eat something.. because it’s going to be dark very soon. It’s always get dark very soon in the mountainous area of Thailand. Yeah. Let’s continue! Cafe.. cafe.. Hello.. Do you have any food? We have just fast food.. Fast food? Wow.. so beautiful.. Wow.. it’s so pretty here! Just.. I don’t know is it rice or not? 
Yeah, it is rice.. Green rice.. And there is a tent, but probably I’m not allowed to sleep in it. And in this area, there is only one homestay, but it’s booked for today. Homestay is right there in this rice field. Oh, wow. Wow. Wow.
So sweet! This is really amazing place for camping. But I don’t have my tent with me on this trip.
I wanted to travel lightly.. Oh, and cocoa is delicious.. Just like our AROICA cocoa! Which we can taste a little bit later.. 
I’ve got no kettle with me.. But look, sun is going down.
This is the west. And we are quite lucky with weather today.

I don’t remember all the details, but I remember one thing clearly. There was a very big and beautiful “Khao Soi” in my dream.
Maybe it was a sign. Maybe we need to find “Khao Soi” first and then continue our exploration of Lamphun Province. Anyway, these are hungry adventures, right? 
There must be something delicious. By the way, I got new helmet from Thai brand called “Real Helmet”. “Real Impact Venture Plus”

Khao Soi with beef. Wow. It’s always useful to check recent information, if you are going to visit a national park in Thailand. especially if something is wrong with weather. So I went to Facebook and found official page of Mae Ping National Park,
and the authorities posted update and pictures of it. and they say that the waterfall (“Ko Luang Waterfall”) is closed unfortunately. It is a very beautiful place and it is the reason why I actually was driven this road yesterday. Because the water in the waterfall is really beautiful – it is blue or turquoise..
looks amazing when it’s sunny and it is not raining. However, now the water is brown, there is a lot of water and some falling trees. So, they closed this area until the situation improves. Rainy season or winter season, I don’t get it anymore.
What’s wrong with weather this year? Anyway guys, we continue riding to Lamphun City and on the way there will be more interesting places to see and explore. Hills, mountains, temples, maybe beautiful cafes. We’ll see! It’s going to be exciting and probably delicious.

Good jazz! Wanna try duck salald? Next to the small town where I enjoyed Khao Soi,   I found this beautiful temple on the hill called 
“Wat Phra Phutthabat Pha Nam”, If I remember correctly. There must be some nice view over the valley.. Because the way up is pretty steep, so, we’re at some altitude.
Not Himalayas, but still quite high. What a wonderful view.

And this sound of bells, constant sound of bells is mesmerizing. Amazing. And it’s a panoramic view. 
We’ve come from this direction – Khao Soi was there, I slept there. And now we’re heading to Lamphun city along this road. So much greenery around. And even though we are not lucky with weather this time and we couldn’t see the waterfall, I still believe we are lucky because I’m still dry. I’m still not wet. And these clouds, they make walking around the temple enjoyable, because it’s not burning hot! And also gives some kind of dramatic feeling. It feels like you are in some sort of a movie with those Gotham style shadows. Wow, amazing.
Can spend hours and hours here. Perfect place for meditation. And actually there is another stupa on this hill and we can walk there. Hello.. Where can I park? “The Lamp Lamphun” Oh, so beautiful here. Wow. What is the recommended menu here? Would you like one-plate food?
Sure, one plate dishes are fine We have Phad Grapao with pork and chicken..
Oh I am bored of it – been eating Pad Grapao everywhere.. Pad Thai with fresh shrimps?

I miss Chumphon! Okay, 2 dishes please. What an amazing tropical paradise I have found. It is called “The Lamp Lamphun”. And it is located not that far from the city to be honest.
We’ve got maybe 20-30 minutes ride more until we reach the city. And you don’t need to pay to to explore the area.
Just pay for your food! And this is probably the boyfriend.

Bai Liang fried with egg also looks quite good. There are some shrimps, small shrimps and a lot of Bai Liang. One of my favorite menus.. and the menu I recommend everyone to try! So good and juicy.. and not overcooked! It is a new day, but it’s the same feeling. Feels like I’m stuck in July somewhere in the south, somewhere in Chumphon. It’s been raining all night.
