栃木市の街中を流れる巴波川(うずまがわ)を船に乗って遊覧

栃木市は江戸末期から昭和初期にかけて江戸との舟運での交易で栄えた問屋町です。北関東有数の商都と呼ばれ、江戸からは物資のみならず多くの文化が栃木市に流入し、その名残から今なお小江戸と呼ばれています。
当時の舟運を再現する蔵の街遊覧船では、街中を流れる巴波川(うずまがわ)の川面から、情緒ある蔵の街並みを楽しむことができます。
船上では、粋な船頭が巧みな竿さばきで「栃木河岸船頭唄」と共に栃木市や巴波川の歴史を案内してくれます。

Take a boat tour along the Uzumagawa River flowing through downtown Tochigi City

Tochigi City flourished as a wholesale district from the late Edo period to the early Showa era through trade with Edo via river transport. Known as one of northern Kanto’s leading commercial hubs, not only goods but also many cultural elements flowed into Tochigi City from Edo. Remnants of this era persist, earning it the nickname “Little Edo” to this day.
The Warehouse District Sightseeing Boat recreates the river transport of that era, allowing you to enjoy the charming warehouse district scenery from the surface of the Uzumagawa River flowing through the city.
On board, a stylish boatman guides you through the history of Tochigi City and the Uzumagawa River with his skillful pole handling, accompanied by the “Tochigi Riverbank Boatman’s Song.”
