Is Glacier Bay really the most beautiful sea day ? My Alaska excursion didn’t go as planned!
Hey everyone, welcome back to cruising Alaska on the Norwegian encore Sea. It has really been special to me. It just gave us some unexpected surprises, setting the perfect tone for our Alaska journey. The journey begins here, on the White Pass Railway to Juneau and Skagby, where you’ll find romance at every turn. Cruising through glaciers, spotting wild animals along the way, every moment felt like a scene from a movie. It felt like the entire film was being shot. That was so amazing. [Music] And the first time I saw a roadside show like this was in Victoria, British Columbia. And their famous show was the Quira of Man Encore . We enjoyed it. Good morning from Glacier Way. Yes, we have just reached Glacier Way. And as soon as we woke up in the morning, seeing such a view, such a scene, it felt like we were in heaven. And our cruise was in this area for quite some time. We were traveling around for several hours. So you can enjoy the view from all sides . Throughout the sailing, we got a very close view of Glacier Bay, and we saw beautiful mountains and many wild animals. It was an amazing experience. I can’t explain it to you. It’s hard to describe. Because it’s something that you only feel when you see it. It ‘s not all that visible in the video, but it was so amazing. [Music] It was crystal clear water, and the shades of the mountains were falling on it. It was such a scenic view that you can’t even imagine what it looked like. You can see it to a great extent in this video. And this video was taken from a distance. Although the mountains are very huge and appear very large in it, but because of the distance, they aren’t as clear. What a view! And this is John Hawkins Glacier. This is the second glacier, and it looks completely blue. It’s absolutely beautiful. [Music] [Music] [Music] And I’m just guessing, looking at the water, look how they’re rotating the ship, and then the water is rotating like that. And they spin the ship around the glacier, so you can enjoy the view from all sides. And the beauty was simply unparalleled. It felt like you were in paradise. And the entire journey we took through the ocean, through the Pass Way, was absolutely beautiful. And at no point did we feel bored. Seeing the same view. Everywhere was a completely different view. And it felt like we were seeing such a view for the first time. And now it seems like there won’t be a place like this anywhere else. [Music] [Music] On the cruise, you’ll find restaurants with different cuisines . So you can try different ones on different days. Right now, we’re going to Food Republic. This is a famous restaurant here, and I’m hungry. So let’s go and eat something, and here you have to go fully dressed up. You can wear any lowers and just come out of the room and go. That’s not allowed. [Music] We’re gonna try the famous one. This is the first time. Thank you so much for helping us. Nice, let’s go, look at the table, perfect, thank you so much, now this is perfect , so we came to Food Republic today. This is also one of the specialty restaurants. So you can see the foods are ready. Pooja, they all came ready. So they have these devices where you can order, you know, the nice little iPad type stuff. You can just through them, they have this pretty nice stuff. We have this Pad Thai. Vietnamese balls, coffee, cakes, and things like that. We did order a bunch of things. We have specialty packets. So we can get 8 items. But we actually get 10. So we’ll just pay for the last two items. And the rest of the 8 will be free. So this is how we’re doing it. And this is a view. Right on the ocean there it’s perfect Food Republic so we ate lots of food at Food Republic and I think the main reason to make this video was that it is 10:00 pm and look at outside. Look outside this is 10 pm in the [music] Can you imagine this is night time? Yes it is night time. Actually it was night time. When I saw a little light coming from my balcony I just opened the balcony and looked and I woke up and I opened the balcony and there was a lot of light and it was 3:00 in the night and because of the snow it looked like it was daytime. Seriously it is not possible to capture the beauty of Alaska on video. So right now we’re Juno We’ve docked here. Now we’re in line, waiting for our shuttle. It was actually quite crowded. Of course, when everyone disembarks at the same time on a cruise ship, it gets quite crowded. The line was quite long, so we had to wait for our shuttle to Juneau for quite some time. After such a long line, we finally got our shuttle and arrived in Juneau. Then, upon arriving in Juneau, something went wrong. We learned that the excursion we’d booked wouldn’t be possible. The reason was the weather. As everyone knows, Alaska’s weather is incredibly unpredictable. It can suddenly rain, turn cold, turn windy. So, when we arrived in Juneau, we discovered it was extremely windy. We had booked a whale-watching expedition. But when we arrived, everyone said no, the excursion wouldn’t be possible today. Those who were supposed to be there wouldn’t be taken. So that was very disappointing for us, and we were like, what should we do now? We came so far and were very excited about the whale excursion. We really wanted to, but couldn’t do anything because of the weather. So, whale watching was left for us. So, we just saw Juneau City and came back after touring Juneau City. We didn’t do any excursion. Whale watching was left for us. So, it’s okay, sometimes it happens. [Music] Okay, here is Royal Caribbean All America Park, here, that is Princess, back there, this is Lasca, so this is City of Juneau, pretty nice, dark, here and there, is King Crap Shack, there is another ship, and this is the Honor, the Honor, we came on this ship. It’s pretty huge, it’s pretty big, it goes from here to all the way down there, down there, it’s pretty huge . So, now we’re back. We’re in the observation lounge. You can have tea, coffee, whatever you want here. We rested here for a bit, and then we’ll see what we have to do next. After that, we’ll have dinner a little later. There was a long line, so it took a long time, and it was very cold outside, so everyone’s pretty tired . So, we’ll rest here for a bit. Then we’ll see some cruise ships, and then we’ll go and have dinner again. [Music] Time to say goodbye to it . It’s 11:00 pm in the night, and we’ve just taken off for our next destination . [Music] Happy, it’s July 4th , 2023. Shooting Star Me, you should just make a wish. [ Music ] Alright, so we’re on dark today in Skagway. Oh, there’s one more ship, dark here. So this is our Ancor, there’s one more there. [Music] This is the shuttle for the Skag. This is our Ancor ship. And this is Princess. So, now we’ve arrived in Skagway town. And here you can see what a small town it is. It just kind of starts here and ends there. It doesn’t look like a very big town, but you could easily tour the entire town in an hour. And it’s the oldest town in Alaska. [Music] Mountain range. Look at the mountain all around the town and look at this interesting store. Here , so we just came down a little bit inside the town and look at this beauty . This is so lovely. I’ll show you something more interesting. Let me show you this house on the mountain. I can zoom in. In the middle of it. Okay. So this one. This entire town is surrounded by the mountains. These grand mountains and this is the general store. Look at the general store. Wow. Okay. I just realized something really interesting. So this car and this is kind of a show truck is running from 1923 to 2023 and what is even more interesting is look at how they are towing this this is how they are this is how they are towing it is good this is how they are towing it wow look at this I thought it was a track actor but it’s not it’s like it’s amazing the famous shop here is called Joel Shop and all the things here are handmade and there are many such things which are made of stones like necklaces etc and many other things and one very surprising thing which I saw was a photo of an Indian Bollywood actress here you can just see it here it was very surprising for me to see such a photo here in Alaska it was surprising for me and the biggest thing is this is an Indian shop and there in Alaska in all the shops in Skalgv, there were mostly shops of Indians there were many such shops which were from Bombay She is she you find something Pooja Where is this no this is actually really 24 carat gold it might be actually there are some the lots of gold mine here so okay so this they have gold in here okay this is another part of the town see this is from 1897 this is where something interesting. I just saw in Alaska shop. Here. There is also a photo of Hanuman ji here. And this is some Indian shop. One from Bombay that from Mumbai. Scared this I get it not which one is it you want scared of this and I want it you want it or I get it okay let’s check it out I just this railway was built in 1898 during the Gold Rush period. Back then people used to go to Canada to search for gold and Skag was also their route. Or the railway goes through those routes. So you are literally looking at the Gold Rush Historic Trail. And this track was built through mountains and glaciers , which was a remarkable feat in itself and incredibly difficult for the engineers. Now, it’s a popular tourist train, not just for its gold, but for its gorgeous side-seeing cruises to Alaska. Cruises to Alaska include this as a short excursion from Scagávez Way. You can choose between short rides and longer journeys all the way to the Yukon. Even today, some of the old engines and coaches are in use, making the journey feel very nostalgic. Because of the heavy snow in Alaska, there ‘s a snowplow right in front of the train, which keeps the snow moving and keeps the train moving. It’s been declared an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. Just like the Eiffel Tower or the Panama Canal. [Music] Okay, let’s hop on. Let’s hop on this train. Have you ever imagined that this train, built for exploration, can still show us such amazing sights? This CAG’s White Wasps and Yukon Route train climbs 3000 feet in just 20 miles. And there are so many falls, waterfalls, glaciers, and old wooden bridges, tunnels, everywhere you see the beauty of nature that you will just keep your hand on your heart and think, you can’t even imagine, wow, what a beauty. [Music] There it is, thank you, yes, thank you [Music] And now we are in Cachikan Oncor, the sun is dark, right next to our cruise ship, it is a colorful ship, it’s pretty, this is on cor, it’s much smaller, two. I can see there is like one, two, three, actually four balcony levels, it’s smaller, but looks pretty. It’s docked, right next to our cruise ship. And now we’re also going to get off and explore Cachikan. We didn’t stay long in Cachikan because it took us a while to get off the cruise ship, and the time we had there was very limited. I think it was two hours. We had to go and see the city and come back in that time . So we didn’t take the risk because we were a little late. So we just went out, saw a little bit of the town, and came back. So you can just say we went out, took a photo, and came back to the ship. So we didn’t do anything extra in Cachikan. So Cachikan was just a little sightseeing. Nothing too special. And then we came back . [Music] So after coming back, we took a snack break and went straight to see the Quarry of Man show. Enjoy live music on the Norwegian Enchantment amidst the waves. A pub-style stage, singing, dancing, and audience fun all rolled into one. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh, wow, the weather has changed completely. It’s completely cloudy. All the days we’ve been on the cruise have been sunny. Because of this, we’ve been able to see the glacier quite well, because glaciers like that are not visible at all in the clouds. They’ll hide them. And today is our last day here. Actually, the last day is tomorrow, but today we’ll go to Victoria. After that, we’ll go straight to Seattle. So here we are, in Victoria. Yes, we’ve landed in Victoria, in a way. Until now, we were in the sea, so we weren’t on land. We were on the water in the sea. So, we’ve just arrived in Victoria, and they’ve dropped us off here for four hours. And this is our last day in Victoria. After this, we’ll go straight from Victoria to Seattle. Now we ‘re in Victoria. Look at the road here. It’s pretty. We booked a car to go downtown to ” Oh, they have bike rentals too. There?” The buggy option was also great, so we could have taken that as well. But since we only had four hours and wanted to explore everything in Victoria, we chose the quick option and booked a car so we could get everything done quickly. in oh I g full right now okay let’s go check out this one now we are in Canada look at the flag Canadian flag worship we should go on that side there there who will take the photo of it oh Canada now we are in Canada Victoria this is beautiful look at this place there is this park right across okay now we are in Victoria Victoria downtown okay come let’s let’s green green cool Victoria wow this look at this building nice count down time this [applause] [music] [applause] over in the end there is so there is on there is two more ships dark right next to another one is the Hull America other one is Princess Grand Princess I think the Grand Princess one ran in the movie on the this one is Princess Grand Princess in the end this one is Holland America this one is NCL Norwegian Oncor Oncor is the largest one it’s pretty big ship this is our ship it’s pretty big and this one is Holland America This is also one of the oldest one to come to Alaska. This is pretty beautiful.
