Kumamoto Prefecture Sightseeing Part 7 – Aso/Kumamoto Area Edition – 2024/8/10-12 Moving on. Departing. (4:15 PM) I successfully completed my One Piece tour. (Complete) Thank you for your hard work. I’m heading home now. Judging from the state of the sea, it seems to be low tide. I’m heading home, stopping at service areas and other places along the way. (It’s a long journey, but I’ll do my best.) This is the Ariake Sea. The tide is quite low. Just above me is the bridge over which the Shinkansen passes. It’s close. I can see the Shinkansen on my way back as well. This is the entrance to the Kyushu Expressway. Mifune IC (inbound). I get on the expressway. I head towards Fukuoka. I go around and meet up. I’m meeting up. I ‘m almost at Kitakumamoto Service Area (inbound). I’ll stop for a bit. We arrived at Kitakumamoto SA (inbound). (5:15 PM) ~ Kitakumamoto SA (inbound) ~ It appears that construction is underway for a planned reopening in December 2024. (I’m looking forward to the reopening.) I saw a convenience store. I went in. (It appears to be temporary.) I took a look inside the store. They have highway SA/PA stamps. I received a SA/PA stamp. I walked around the store a bit. As expected, there were a lot of Kumamon items. I bought this to commemorate completing my One Piece statue tour. *The picture on the package is of a statue. I’m still trying to decide what else to buy. I’m interested in this green onion bread. I’ll also buy this mustard lotus root. I bought the following: (Total: 1,584 yen) – One Piece Cookies (864 yen incl. tax) – Mustard lotus root (720 yen incl. tax) I’m also interested in the curry bread in front of the register. After finishing my shopping, I came outside. This is what the shop looked like. I headed back to the car. We continue on. We depart. (5:35 PM) We’re almost at Tamana PA (inbound). We’ll stop by for a bit. We’ve arrived at Tamana PA (inbound). (5:50 PM) ~ Tamana PA (inbound) ~ Let’s take a look inside the store. It seems they also have a One Piece Stamp Rally. It’s a convenience store-based building, but they have quite a few souvenirs. It seems they don’t have highway SA/PA stamps here. We head to the store next door. We take a look inside this store as well. This store has a wide variety of souvenirs. Tamana PA also has a lot of Kumamon items. They have highway SA/PA stamps. We received our SA/PA stamps. We come outside. We return to the car. We continue on. We depart. (6:00 PM) There’s a traffic jam in the opposite lane. (Perhaps there was an accident?) The traffic is getting worse and worse. It’s a huge traffic jam. It looks like a bus is blocking the lane. 帰りました。 English: *After this, the traffic jam continued for a while. We’re almost at Yamakawa PA (inbound). We’ll stop by for a bit. We’ve arrived at Yamakawa PA (inbound). (6:10 PM) ~Yamakawa PA (inbound)~ Let’s take a look inside the store. Lately, you’ll see souvenirs like this at every SA/PA. (Sold in bulk at a discount) Although it’s in Miyama City (Fukuoka Prefecture), there are also many souvenirs from Kumamoto Prefecture, perhaps because it’s on the prefectural border. There’s a SA/PA stamp on the highway. We received our SA/PA stamp. We’ve come outside. We’ll return to the car. We’ll continue on. We’re leaving . (6:20 PM) There’s traffic on this side too. It’s finally starting to flow. This is the Chikugo River. The sunset is beautiful. We’re almost at Koga SA (inbound). We’ll stop by for a bit. There’s already a traffic jam at the entrance. It’s a huge traffic jam. This is a fairly large SA… It took quite a while, but we’ve finally reached the entrance. It took quite a while, but we finally found the parking lot. We arrived at Koga SA (inbound). (7:30 PM) ~ Koga SA (inbound) ~ It was quite late, but there were a ton of cars and people. Let’s take a look inside. It was incredibly crowded. First, we looked for the highway SA/PA stamp. It was hard to find. Koga SA is very spacious on both the inbound and outbound lanes. They have a wide selection of Fukuoka Prefecture souvenirs, but it also seems to carry all the famous souvenirs from all of Kyushu. a huge variety of products here, so let’s take a look around.
Finally, we found the highway SA/PA stamp. We received a SA/PA stamp. There’s a “Hometown Tax Donation” vending machine in Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This is the first time I’ve seen one. Apparently, if you pay your taxes here, you’ll receive a Koga SA gift certificate. There’s The Kumamon packaging is so cute. This is the “Tyrolean” cans we collect. The “Sazae-san” one is cute, too. I bet this is delicious too. We went outside and headed back to the car. Even at this time, it seems we’re still waiting for a parking space to open up. More and more cars are coming in. We move on. We’re leaving. (8:10 PM) We’re almost at Nogata PA (inbound). We’ll stop by for a bit. We’ve arrived at Nogata PA (inbound). (8:20 PM) ~ Nogata PA (inbound) ~ Let’s take a look inside the store. There are expressway SA/PA stamps. We received an SA/PA stamp. “Hakata no Hito” is also a long-standing specialty confection. It’s delicious. I ‘m craving castella and have been thinking about buying one. We buy the following: – “Nagasaki Kaido Castella (tax included: 760 yen)” I’m looking forward to it. We’ve come outside. We return to the car. We move on. We’re leaving. (8:30 PM) Next, we’re heading home. It’s time to get off the expressway. We get off the expressway at Yahata IC (inbound). The fare is 3,170 yen. I filled up with gas and headed home. I arrived at the gas station (8:55 PM). 22.30 liters of gas cost 3,590 yen. I headed home. I arrived at my home (9:05 PM). Thank you for your hard work.
