【30代家族の全国制覇旅】大混雑の観光地を脱出 → 居心地の良い自然と青い海に囲まれた島のRVパークへ|愛媛 No.2

Ehime Prefecture, No. 2, the 29th prefecture in our nationwide tour . Morning of Day 9 in Ehime. The AC200L battery is at 45% after about nine hours of use because we’ve been running it since last night. Yesterday, I bought some bread at a cheesecake shop on the way to the Shikoku Karst. Apparently they have two types: one pancake-like and the other regular milk bread. I’m going to eat that this morning. The bread itself is big, so we’ll all share one. Off we go! We refuel Von-chan at a nearby gas station. Gas complete! Today we’re going to Dogo Onsen… I wonder if we’ll be able to park? I heard from Dad Panda yesterday that the main building of Dogo Onsen is popular and there’s always a long line. If it’s too crowded, we’ll just enjoy the atmosphere of Dogo Onsen. Since it’s a hot spring town, there are likely to be a variety of shops, so I’ll enjoy them. We’ve booked an RV park for today, and it might be the most luxurious of all the RV parks we’ve visited. If the weather is clear, it might be a good idea to go to the RV park early. I reserved a seaside site, which apparently has a beautiful ocean view right in front of it. It’s certainly expensive, but the facilities seem to be of a high standard, so I think it’s a good choice. There’s also a dump truck! The milk bread was sweet and delicious♪ I could see the townscape. It’s 3.9km to Dogo Onsen… This area is urban! It looks like we’ll have trouble finding a parking spot. It’s a straight road with turns, so we have to be careful! Turn right here and you’ll be at Dogo Onsen. It’s hard to tell when you can take the tram… At times like this, it’s hard to know which is the right choice. Dogo Onsen town starts around here. There are quite a few people! Lots of people, but also a lot of cars! The parking lot is almost always full. I found the entrance to Dogo Onsen parking! It says there’s a spot available! It might be a bit steep. This is the closest place to park a campervan in Dogo Onsen. Parking was a breeze! We were able to park our camper van securely! We decided to head to the shrine first. Apparently, Isaniwa Shrine is a rare piece of architecture. The shrine building is one of only three examples in Japan, built in the Hachiman-style style, and is designated an Important Cultural Property. We saw some pretty challenging stairs… U-chan was the fastest! Mom and Dad were exhausted. We also received the Fourth Isaniwa Shrine’s red seal, so we headed toward the rare Hachiman-style shrine building. It’s all crimson red! Apparently , Hachiman-style architecture is a single shrine building constructed by connecting two buildings front to back. Apparently, it’s rare for these two buildings to be connected by a corridor . The pathway is cool. Is it a thatched roof? The stairs look long from above. They’re paved with stone, so it might be safer to wear shoes when going up and down. U-chan was also the fastest to descend the stairs. Let’s eat first, then head toward the castle! Let’s find a sea bream restaurant! There’s so much tempting food, from dumplings to nabeyaki udon to sea bream and rice. We found a shop with a particularly long line. It seems to be a rice ball shop. It says Dogo! There’s a mechanical clock! It started ticking at 11 o’clock. It’s apparently a mechanical clock inspired by Natsume Soseki’s novel “Botchan.” I was surprised to see it spread out further and further than I expected. There was also a huge line at the sea bream rice shop! Is it a popular place? What are these? They say they have jumbo dumplings! They were really big! They continue all over the place! This place is also a hot spring! Maybe this is the place the pandas told us about! We strolled around while waiting for our turn for rice. Papa and U-chan checked out some interesting shops. Those jumbo dumplings from before…look! Aren’t they huge? There are dumpling shops everywhere! Look, they’re selling high-quality soda! We discovered a shop that serves mandarin orange juice! It’s also popular and packed! We were called to “Kadoya,” so we ordered Uwajima sea bream rice. It looks delicious! Apparently, the sea bream sashimi is mixed with a special broth containing raw egg and served over rice with condiments! Mama’s luxurious sea bream rice meal has arrived. It’s all sea bream! U-chan was also very satisfied with the delicious meal! It looks like it’s going to be busy after this, so we decide to just look around the souvenir shop before heading back to the car. We stopped at a shop I’d been curious about earlier and bought dessert and juice. I was surprised that the coffee milk U-chan ordered came in a huge milk bottle! It’ll be a great souvenir to take home! We headed back to the car. It’s hot outside, so we’re running the air conditioner at a powerful 22°C. The sub-battery is currently at 77%, but the power consumption is impressive at 60A. However, thanks to charging while driving and solar power, the sub-battery recovered quite well today! Perhaps because it was the Obon holiday and sunny weather, Dogo Onsen was quite crowded, so we decided to retreat early. We set off, but first, let’s start with the exit. The water supply and drainage tanks are angled when they’re full, which is a bit annoying. I just found out that the main building of Dogo Onsen is on the right?! It took just over two hours and cost 600 yen. My navigation system guided me, but the eaves were a bit scary. This street is the same one that leads to Isaniwa Shrine! I actually wanted to go to Matsuyama Castle, but I saw on X that the queue for tickets was long, so I gave up. If you’re going to Matsuyama Castle, I think you’ll enjoy it more if you keep an eye on the time. Matsuyama is a city, so I recommend it for people who like sightseeing spots and places like this. But Ehime also has the Shimanami Kaido! The weather’s nice, so today might be a good day. I’ll drive 70km from here to the RV park. I’ve entered Imabari City, the town of towels! I got on the highway from Imabari Interchange and will be taking the Shimanami Kaido after this! The weather’s nice today, so I’m glad♪ I saw a sign for Onomichi! It seems that if you keep going along that bridge, you’ll reach Onomichi! It says the Kurushima Kaikyo Third Bridge! There’s an island on the left, it’s amazing! The Kurushima Kaikyo Second Bridge… are there several bridges? The Hankyu Ferry we took before must have passed through here, too. Our destination, the RV park, is still 24km away. Hakata Island, famous for its Hakata salt. This is my first time seeing this cycling road? Even mopeds can ride it?! Who knew there was a road like that! The unfamiliar scenery is so fun. This is Omishima! I got off at Omishima Interchange and decided to go to the supermarket before heading to the RV park. Omishima is part of Imabari City, huh? Is this the ferry terminal? I didn’t take any tourist boats this time. We arrived at the supermarket. Time for some shopping! Shopping done! I ‘ve seen flounder dishes. Is flounder famous around here? There’s an RV park over there, too. (RV Park Shimanami Kaido Omishima) It was full here. The ocean is right in front of me. Apparently, a fellow camper is heading to nearby Rabbit Island today. Maybe he’s somewhere around here? We’re both on a whirlwind trip, so I don’t think we’ll meet. The ocean on the other side of the island is coming into view. The entrance to RV Park Seaside M is a little narrow, but it can accommodate imported vehicles. The site is right in front of the ocean! There was a pretty big car… What?! What a surprise !? Rumor has it that it was my friend’s car there! I was surprised at how many miraculous encounters I had on this trip. My friend was just checking in. Check-in complete! The owner said it was okay to take a video, so I’ll show you a little bit about the facility! This RV park has a cypress sauna where you can see the ocean. The sauna is nice and hot! Apparently, you can cool down after the sauna in cold underground water. It’s quite cold, so it looks like it will cool you down well. You can enjoy the ocean view while enjoying the sauna… What a great location. Apparently it’s only 2,000 yen per person! (Check the website for details.) *Swimsuits are required for the sauna. The location is amazing, and the quality is top-notch! The deck is well-separated, so you can enjoy your own private space. Apparently, you can see the first sunrise of the year from the bridge at the back on New Year’s Day! Next, let’s take a look at the bathroom! This is the women’s only restroom and shower room. As you can see from the entrance, it’s very clean and beautiful! – Toilet Area – On the other side, there’s a barrier-free restroom. Behind them are two coin-operated shower rooms. Similar to these, there’s a men’s only shower and toilet. The men’s room is more compact. The bathroom is incredibly clean, so I’m sure women will be very happy. Apparently, you can go above this! Separate your trash and throw it in the bins (for a fee). Above is an open-air balcony. Below the balcony is the reception and free space. Air conditioning keeps you cool in the summer, and a wood-burning stove keeps you warm in the winter. A coin-operated laundry and dryer are also available. The men’s restroom and shower room features a hammock suitable for the owner. There are also manga comics available, so it looks like a relaxing space. Apparently, there’s a working space at the back of the balcony. It seems like everyone can use it, whether they’re working or the kids are coloring. The owner is a former sumo wrestler! Amazing! Even more surprising is that his father is also a former sumo wrestler! Incidentally, behind that is a tent site with a cypress deck. The RV Park Seaside M posts various updates on their Instagram, including the progress and status of the RV park, so please take a look! Today, since it’s a power site, the portable power sources are charging up. The AC200L is charging via pass-through, while the AC30 is charging from the power site. Using the air conditioner in this condition would obviously cause it to shut down, so instead, we’re leaving the car charging. The site looks like this. An awning can be put up, but since the ground is asphalt, it might be better to park it on the side of the car. Cooking is allowed on the asphalt, while the wooden deck provides a twilight space. I’m enjoying the evening with a friend I had a unique encounter with. I never expected to meet a friend from the Kanto region here. My friend is a young campervan driver, and we’ve known each other for about three or four years. We ‘re planning to have shabu-shabu today, so I’m cutting up some vegetables. It’s pretty hot inside the car, without air conditioning… Why shabu-shabu? Because I wanted to use the rich yuzu ponzu sauce I bought. I’ve been to every grocery store on the island. I wanted to have grilled seafood, but they didn’t have what I was looking for. The roadside station didn’t even sell fresh produce! lol . A toast with a sweet wine! (For the second time) It’s sweet, but delicious. It’s like juice, so drinking too much can be dangerous. We’re having a great time talking about the route and places we’ve visited on this trip. Apparently, the rabbits on Rabbit Island are used to people and don’t run away at all. U-chan said it was hot outside, so we decided to eat in the car, where the air conditioning was on. It’s cooler, but it’s definitely humid outside. The ocean here is beautiful! This is the Shimanami Kaido, after all! Finally! Tomorrow, we’ll be in Kagawa Prefecture, the last prefecture on our Shikoku trip! Apparently the last prefecture is the udon prefecture, right? Udon is famous! U-chan only knows that Kagawa = udon. We spotted a crab! I wonder if it came from the ocean side? We had coffee time on the wooden deck in the evening. It was wonderful to spend such a wonderful time in such a lovely place. I’m also going to try the mandarin orange juice I bought at Dogo Onsen. It tastes like a “punch of mandarin orange”! Our fun time is over, and we’re back in the car. We didn’t go to Dogo Onsen, but we did buy some souvenirs: “THE DOGO ONSEN” and a “Sentoin” bag. I’m going to take a shower with my new bag. I’ve taken a shower, and it’s late today, so I’m going to bed now! Good night!
