NAGOYA – Heiwa Park Cemetery • JAPAN Walking Tour • Heavy Rain • 4K HDR
Today we’ll take a peaceful, rainy walk through Heiwa Park in Nagoya. Heiwa Park is a vast public park in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, Japan. It covers about 147 hectares and was established after World War II
as a symbol of peace and remembrance. It’s famous for its cemetery, and also for its cherry blossoms in spring. There are over 190,000 graves here, making it one of the largest cemeteries in Japan. This area was once the Nagoya Army Cemetery, later renamed the Universal War Cemetery. Here rest German and Russian prisoners of war from the Russo-Japanese War (1904–05)
and World War I. The calm suddenly breaks — heavy rain begins to pour across the park. The Monument of Silent Prayers was built to honor all those lost in war. Rainbow Tower stands 63 meters tall — a symbol of peace and remembrance.
During the spring and autumn equinoxes, sunlight from the tower creates
rainbow reflections on the ground below. Heiwa Park lives up to its name — “Peace Park” — even under stormy skies. A little dangerous underfoot — it’s like a river now! Thank you for watching. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
