[Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, China] The moment I arrived at the airport, I felt really good. The airport is very well-maintained (a new airport that opened less than 5 years ago). I heard that the air smells like mala because it is the center of Sichuan cuisine, and it really does smell faintly like mala. It’s so amazing. Oh, I can feel the traditional atmosphere of Sichuan Province right from the airport . We decide to use ride-hailing to the city. (Didi Taxi) Oh, what is that? It’s really cute . As expected, it’s Chengdu, the panda city . (Calling a Didi Taxi with Alipay) Oh, we’re at L2 and we have to go down one more. Oh, it’s written below. We have to go down . This is where we catch a Didi Taxi. (Finding a taxi for us) Let’s chase and get in. Hello. We’ll travel from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to downtown Chengdu, about 65km. Arrived at Orange Fruit Hotel . Is this the right place? Hello. Everything here is really panda. Even this leave case is a panda. There’s a doll in the back. Oh, that’s right! It’s so cute. I got my card key and it said it was the 6th floor (there’s a reason). It was room 8607, so I thought it was the 8th floor (I guess they put the number 8 in front of names in China). [Check-in] Oh, what’s this cute thing? Is it a gift? Wow, even a handwritten letter! The sink, toilet, and bathroom were all separate spaces. (It was already 2 AM, so I’m off to dreamland for tomorrow!) [The next morning] I came down to the first floor to eat the hotel breakfast. Hello (I think they were telling me that I could eat breakfast here) . This is breakfast at the Orange Fruit Hotel. Wow, that mala skewers I’ve only heard about? How is it? Is it edible? This is a totally local breakfast. Isn’t it? Is this brown sugar rice cake? Mmm~ It’s delicious? I heard that it’s a common breakfast in Chengdu, so I really wanted to try it. It’s not too sweet, and it was delicious with soy milk. Now on to the instant cooking menu! (Tantan noodles, chutney pan, miso, hun tun) Let’s start with tantan noodles, which are said to have originated in Chengdu. It’s amazing. Try it. I heard that tantan noodles are delicious no matter where you go, but I didn’t know how to season them, so they were a bit bland . After a hearty breakfast, we start the day. Finally, we begin our trip. Today, we’re going to Kuanzhaixiangzi. It’s said that the street is made up of buildings from the Qing Dynasty . Oppa, just stand under that sign for a moment. It’s so exotic. Exotic? There’s only a sign in Chinese characters, but it felt exotic, so I wanted to take a picture (but people were looking at me strangely) . It’s like they’re looking at me and asking what on earth this place is and why I’m taking pictures here. Haha, it seems like things have just started (it seems like there’s some construction going on). Kuanzhaixiangzi starts from here! There was a store where you could experience traditional costumes. It seemed like they even did makeup. It’s so interesting. Oh, there’s someone walking around wearing it right now. Is it Wang Hong makeup? Is it traditional Shu-style costumes? It’s amazing. I came on the last day and was curious about what was written on the sign, so I used a translator. It’s a face-changing performance! A cute panda appears. Oh, it’s pouring tea! Oh~ Wow, oppa, let’s take a picture here . (Imitates the pose) Oh, this is also a face-changing performance. I think this is a restaurant that does face-changing performances. (You can see people trying out traditional costumes) Oh, they even offer photo shoots as a package. It’s really amazing! Wow, there’s another one here. They really do this a lot. Isn’t it pretty? I want to do it too. Wow, this tree is really pretty too . Oh, it’s Hey Tea. Oh, should we try Hey Tea? Should we? Oh, this place is really great. It’s so amazing. After seeing couples trying out traditional costumes, we decided to do it too on the day we go to Wuhou Temple! [Narrow alley leading to Zaixiangzi] Oh, the smell of Mala! Wow , there are so many people! What was that? They’re selling Mala seasoning in solid blocks! Are those people? They’re not people~ Oh oppa, doesn’t this place really feel like the Three Kingdoms period? Here we go, it’s full of panda souvenirs ㅋㅋ Isn’t this one cute too? Does its expression look like this ? Is its expression changing? Oh, its expression must change like this! Since it’s cute, let’s buy them all in a set like this! We’ve come all the way to Kuanzhai Xiangzhi. This is the most crowded place . I found something really interesting! Oh that old man? No, not the old man, doesn’t this thing behind him look like it’s 9.9 yuan? Let’s try it. Wow, this is interesting. Oh, this is really funny. This is really amazing. A really special souvenir from Chengdu♥ Wow, this place is really fun. I wanted to eat that! Let’s buy one and share . This one’s 10 yuan each! Try it. Is it not that good? (It didn’t taste as good as I thought haha) There’s another store that looks interesting, so we decide to go in. This is Kuanzhai Xiangzhi! But isn’t the street really clean? They were cleaning up earlier. Oh, it’s Pop Mart. They’re selling Labubu here. Let’s go in! But I don’t know what Labubu is . This is Labubu . Why is Labubu so popular? I heard Blackpink came out with Labubu. Really? Expensive ones cost hundreds of millions of won, huh ???? Yes. Should we go find a cafe now? Wow, instead of Starbucks, how about going to a local cafe like this? Isn’t this cafe pretty? I think we should go in there . Let’s take a seat and order. First Chengdu souvenir unboxing! Panda’s face changing performance~ We were enjoying it outside and when we came back, it started raining, so we were so lucky! What’s going on? It suddenly started pouring down rain. There’s no sign of it letting up, and we need to get lunch, so we decide to brave the downpour. Wow! Wow! Wow! Afternoon! It’s here. Here. I came into the restaurant on the left, but it was so noisy that I couldn’t believe it. (They were doing some kind of storytelling performance, but it was so loud ㅠㅠ) There’s an English menu! They said that if you eat or have tea, you can watch the show there. (They also do face changing performances.) We ordered mapo tofu, gongbao jjigae, and a cup of tea each. It’s crazy… Aren’t there face changing performances? I think they’re waiting for them? When I asked the staff, they said it was raining so they were doing a different show. The show would be changing soon! The tea we ordered came out first. (The tea was more expensive than the meal.) This is how you eat tea (gently push the lid of the teacup to prevent the tea leaves from falling out.) Hmm~ It’s good . The Gongbao Jiding came out. It’s stir-fried chicken, and it was perfect for the Korean palate. Now, here comes the dish that originated in Chengdu, Mapo Tofu. Mapo Tofu is delicious! (But if you’re not good with spicy food, it might be difficult to eat.) After the storytelling performance, a traditional opera dance performance followed, followed by a tea ceremony performance and a tea ceremony performance! And finally, the face-changing performance began! Shall we take a look? Wow! Amazing Wow , wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow (It seems like it’s over, but it’s not. ) Suddenly , a mask appears in front of us and gestures for us to touch it . Wow, wow … There’s a wide variety of street food. At the injeolmi (rice cake) vendor, they were even performing rice cake making. If you want to experience the exotic atmosphere of China, you absolutely have to come here. It really feels like China. Oh, really China. We made the whole circuit. We saw everything . It was so much fun. It’s the best. Kuanzhaixiangzhi! Kuanzhaixiangzhi is the best! It’s so much fun. Now, let’s pick up our luggage from the hotel and head to the subway. This is Tonghuimen Station. We’ll take Line 2 from here to Chengdu East Station. (China has security checks even at subway stations.) We created a transportation QR code with Alipay, scanned the QR code, and entered. (It was a bit difficult at first, but I quickly got used to it.) The subway was also incredibly crowded. (I heard Chengdu is one of the top 5 most populous cities in China.) Now, to the train station~ Wow , there are so many people. I think I need to take out my passport. Only the rightmost line accepts passports. The train station also has a security check and we enter. Wow, this place is really huge. Can we really get on and off in 20 minutes? (There were too many people at our boarding gate) Finally boarded! Now, finally, we’re going to Jiuzhaigou! The snack cart is coming, but I really want coffee, so I prepared it in advance with a translator because I wanted a cold coffee! Starbucks coffee that I wanted to buy before getting on the train, but I didn’t have time! (So lucky that they sell Starbucks coffee on the train~) Now it’s 1 hour and 45 minutes to Huanglonggouzhai Station. (It’s a high-speed train, and I took first class) (Approaching our destination) The scenery outside the window is getting more and more beautiful! I can see the tarts and the mani wheels, and it was a moment when I really felt like I was in the Tibetan cultural sphere. Wow, it’s so amazing, really (I’m so nervous, so excited, and so good) [Arriving at Huanglonggouzhai Station] Now, the reason I came to Chengdu, China, the Jiuzhaigou trip begins! See you in the next video! Huanglonggouzhai Station, Ngaba Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China It’s incredibly cold as soon as I arrive here. It’s definitely a highland. The train station is 3,000 meters above sea level, and the temperature and scenery are completely different from Chengdu. Wow, it’s so beautiful… Ah, the air must be really good. (On the way out of Huanglongjiuzhaigou Station) Let’s take a commemorative photo with Huanglongjiuzhaigou Station in the background~ Wow, it’s beautiful. (Taxi to Jiuzhaigou, the bus driver starts to solicit) How much is the taxi fare? 240 yuan~ 240 yuan is a good price, right? Of course~ It’s double the bus fare, but it’s more reasonable than you think. (The bus is 60 yuan per person) Sorry (I’ll take a taxi) I ‘ve already been on a half-day trip to Chengdu and wanted to travel comfortably. Oh , it’s really an official taxi . That ‘s great. Taxi seems like a good choice. And I have to wait until all the passengers board the bus. (The scenery of Abajiu begins as we leave the train station) What is this? Wow, this is amazing. How can there be perennial snow in this weather? Wow, this is unreal! (While driving, I kept shouting that it was unrealistic ㅋㅋ) But later I found out that it wasn’t perennial snow, but limestone that made it look white (It’s amazing and cool either way) Why are there so many people here? Is this a rest area? We made a quick stop at what looked like a rest area observatory. (The driver stopped the car for me to take a picture.) (Exclamation + happiness) What’s that over there? It’s so nice.. Oh, I’m glad I took a taxi. The bus won’t stop here, but I’ll go up the stairs to the observatory. Wow, I’m so happy right now.. (Really happy) It feels like something inside me that was blocked up is opening up. If Chengdu was a dopamine explosion earlier, this is a dopamine + serotonin explosion. Back in the taxi! (Telling the taxi driver my review) On the way, you can see a lot of Tarchos, and you can really feel that you’ve come to the Tibetan cultural sphere (I also saw a very important temple in Tibetan Buddhism). We don’t have time to rest because we’re looking at the scenery outside ㅋㅋ [Stopped at rest area] Wow, but it’s really cold. Here at an elevation of 3,500m, the peak of the mountain, which I thought was covered in snow, is now visible quite close. A commemorative photo to commemorate entering (?) Jiuzhaigou~ Now, let’s head back to Jiuzhaigou . The sun is setting, so the once-white mountain is turning golden . The clouds are lower than the mountain. It’s really beautiful. Before I knew it, I had entered the Jiuzhaigou Tourist Complex town. (2 hours flew by while I was sightseeing.) Well, we’re almost there. We’ve arrived at the Starry Sky Hotel. Oh, it looks nice. Oh, oh, it’s nice? I’m planning to stay here for 2 nights and visit Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. It’s a room on the top floor with a sloping roof (It was fully booked because it was the weekend and the summer peak season). It was clean and not as small as I thought, which was nice (it didn’t smell like cigarettes either) . There was a separate sink, and there was welcome fruit (it was absolutely delicious). There was a bathroom, shower, and the bed was comfortable . Well, I checked in and came out to the tourist complex in front of here. I need to eat too (it seemed like they were telling me to go to a restaurant to eat), so I decided to go check out the neighborhood first . Wow, but this is a mountain… (It looked like a cloud, but the mountain was right in front of me.) Isn’t it really amazing? There’s a KFC, Luckin Coffee, Chargrilled Milk Tea, Starbucks, and even a McDonald’s if you go down further . Before going to Jiuzhaigou tomorrow, I decided to buy some snacks at the supermarket here. For dinner, [a Sichuan, Chongqing specialty restaurant]. Is there an English menu here? There wasn’t. After many twists and turns using a translator, I ordered hot pot and egg fried rice. (Egg fried rice appears) It was delicious because it suited the Korean palate the most. Finally, the most Chinese menu, hot pot, appeared (but it was incredibly spicy). The beef and shrimp dumplings we ordered came out, but something seemed wrong (it wasn’t what we expected). It turned out that we ordered beef feet… (I trusted the translator so I ordered ㅠㅠ) (They said it would be delicious if I put it in) Ah.. it was beef feet… Try it.. ㅋㅋ But the beef feet weren’t the problem, the red soup was too spicy to eat. Because it was too spicy, they poured extra broth for us, and we barely finished the meal by washing it down with the white soup. Since we seemed to have altitude sickness symptoms, we bought canned oxygen at the supermarket (12 yuan each) . Wow, are you buying oxygen…? (I couldn’t understand what you were saying…) I think you were guessing our nationality. ㅋㅋ I’m Korean! My first attempt at canned oxygen. Is it oxygen? I don’t know…? Nothing came out . Is that okay? I don’t know! It seemed okay (but I thought it was defective lol). I went in because there was a shop where you can try on traditional Tibetan clothing . Hello! How much is it for a day? 599 yuan for two. Oh, yes, thank you! (It was a lot more expensive than I thought.) On the way back to the hotel, they were selling watermelon, so I decided to try it. They cut it up for me so it was easy to eat . From the half-day trip to Chengdu to the trip to Jiuzhaigou, we wrap up a long day. [The next morning, the lounge on the first floor of the hotel] Before heading to Jiuzhaigou, we eat a hearty breakfast (cup ramen and rice). Let’s aim to arrive by 9 o’clock. Take it slow~ If you rush (it’s a high altitude area), you won’t be able to breathe well. Let’s go slowly . Wow~ The morning has dawned in Jiuzhaigou. Yesterday, what looked like clouds were actually mountains. The weather is so nice. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the Jiuzhaigou entrance~ I buy a cup of coffee at Luckin Coffee, which I saw yesterday . The scenery is already… extraordinary! It’s definitely on another level… Okay, the traffic is like this. This is why you have to find a place to stay in front of Jiuzhaigou and walk there. We ‘re almost at the entrance to Jiuzhaigou. Wow, with all these people , it’s really huge. Let’s go in. Today is probably Sunday so there will be even more people. [Jiuzhaigou Tourist Center Entrance] This is the mainland. The crowds are huge. But as expected from a 5A tourist attraction, it’s quite organized even though there are a lot of people. Foreigners can enter with their passports (they say the far left or right row) . They say getting on the shuttle bus is a battle . Wow.. Is this how it goes? ㅋㅋㅋ You have to sit but it takes forever (nervous waiting for the shuttle bus ㅋㅋ) Ah, this is kind of funny? ㅋㅋㅋ [Bus arrives] This is really awesome.. ㅋㅋ Oh my, this is really funny ㅋㅋ (I managed to secure a seat ㅋㅋ) Now, let’s move for 30 minutes to the end of the valley on the right. Let’s go to the [Arrow Bamboo Lake] stop . Wow, it’s really pretty. Should I take a picture here? It’s so incredibly pretty (It’s only the beginning, but it’s so beautiful) The weather is so warm~ Wow, getting closer to the lake. Wow, there are so many people there, so we have to be careful. It’s 600m to Panda Lake , so let’s save energy. We have many other places to go (We decided to take the shuttle bus instead of walking) We arrived at the [Panda Lake] stop. There were so many things to enjoy at Panda Lake. Oh! I want to do this! (We decided to try hair braiding since they had it) It was good that we got off here. There are so many things here (She braided my hair in an instant) . How much is 60? 12,000 won? Not bad! Not bad. To finish, if you cut the remaining string, it’s done~ We also experienced wearing traditional Tibetan clothing (ranging from 99 yuan to 499 yuan). I heard that Chinese sausages are delicious, so I tried one (10 yuan). It was so hot and delicious. Now, let’s go closer to see Panda Lake. It’s so clear and beautiful! So clear. How can this be? Next, we go to [Five Flower Lake]. Wow . Wow. It’s crazy. It’s crazy. Even if you have to be pushed by the crowds, it’s worth coming here. (There was even a photo service.) They say that trees that fall into the lake never rot. (It’s because of the calcium carbonate content.) There are so many pretty spots in Five Flower Lake, so I took a lot of pictures. It’s hot. It’s really spectacular… It really looks like pandas live here. Wow, what should I do with this? (It’s so pretty.) Next is [Pearl Shoals]. It’s so cool. It’s so cold. [Pearl Shoal Waterfall] It’s really spectacular. The waterfall is so cool and beautiful. Wow, it’s beautiful. Let’s go slowly . Okay, we’re done with the right valley tour. Let’s have lunch. [Nuorilang Tourist Center] (There were so many people here too.) We had pizza and steak for lunch at the fast food restaurant inside the center. (But when I came out, there was another bigger building) Okay, now we’re going up to Janghae at the left end of the Y-shaped valley. [Janghae, Long Lake] Arriving at the stop It’s really amazing. As we climbed up to Janghae at an altitude of 3,000m, it suddenly started raining and it got really cold. As soon as I got here, I took out my coat and thought I should buy a hat. I found a place selling hats (30 yuan each) I want this (choosing a color) I decided and bought it~ This is Janghae, the largest and deepest lake in Jiuzhaigou. Let’s go to Wucaiji first! But isn’t it amazing? How can the weather change so quickly? This is the charm of the highlands. Wow, this is crazy. Wow, the colors are completely different from before. Wow, how can the colors be like this? Wow, this is crazy, this is really pretty, this is Wucaiji. The five-colored lake. Okay, before we go for the last time, we’re here to buy souvenirs. Since it’s Tibetan culture, I’ll buy a mini mani chariot for Tibetan souvenirs (20 yuan) . I’ll also choose a cute magnet (20 yuan) . Now, let’s check carefully before we leave. The shuttle bus to the exit! It’s written here. If you get on the wrong one, you might have to go back up. It’s 14 kilometers down? It’s so far . Now, let’s leave Jiuzhaigou. (9-hour tour from 9 a.m. to almost 6 p.m., haha) How was Jiuzhaigou? The best. It was the best! After seeing Jiuzhaigou, you can’t see any other bodies of water. (There’s a saying in China that goes like this!) (It’s that beautiful~) Tomorrow, we’re going to Huanglong! To be continued…. [Jiuzhaigou Tourist Area, Sichuan Province, China] Jiuzhaigou Day 3, 6:30 AM, early morning hotel check-out (Waiting for a taxi to go to Huanglong) [Taxi arrival] Hello! Oh my, oh my, oh my At Huanglong Jiuzhaigou Station, I contacted the driver who gave me a ride to Jiuzhaigou via WeChat and he picked me up at the hotel. We had a comfortable ride to Huanglong (350 yuan). The scenery along the way was truly amazing. I saw lots of yaks along the road and horses grazing. I was so amazed by the nature outside the window that the two hours flew by. We’re almost there now. [Huanglong Scenic Area Visitor Center] There’s a free luggage storage right next to the visitor center, so I’ll go leave my suitcase there. (I have to go to the ropeway station, so I’m waiting for the driver.) Oh, it’s cold… I checked my luggage and wrote down the number before I left. (The staff helped me with the parts I didn’t know.) Thank you! It was so cold, so I went into the tourist center for a moment. I looked for something to wear and asked the price, but 168 yuan seemed a bit expensive, so I left for now. I got back in the taxi and got off at the [ropeway station]. They sell clothes here! Buy them here! (Huanglong is higher in altitude than Jiuzhaigou, so it’s definitely colder.) I’ll take this! (88 yuan) With the braided hair and fur cape at Jiuzhaigou, I was in style! Haha [ropeway ticket office] I bought the entrance ticket and the ropeway upward ticket in advance on Trip.com, but I had to exchange it for a paper ticket at the ticket office. Now, to the ropeway station! (You still have to wait in line for the ropeway…) It took about 20 minutes to get to the boarding entrance. (As of 9:30 AM on a weekday morning) As a foreigner, I had to use my passport to enter. (Leftmost row) (Check both paper tickets and Huanglong admission passport) [Ropeway boarding] It’s an 8-person cabin (It’s a very peaceful ride compared to the Jiuzhaigou shuttle bus) It’s fast. Fast, fast, fast, fast. About 5 minutes by cable car, it goes up to 3,500m above sea level. Wow, the weather today… The weather is crazy today too. It’s so nice. It looks like that over there . Wow, in an instant, we’re now at an altitude of 3,400m. Wow, the cable car goes almost vertically, so it felt like we went up 500m in an instant. [Getting off] Wow, this place is really cool . I heard there’s a bus that goes near Ochaeji, so I was going to look into it… Are you Korean? (It’s my first time meeting a Korean here, haha) A Korean man told me that the bus tickets were sold out…. I decided to go to the ticket booth to check again! I checked again just in case, but they said there were no reservations, and the staff member guided me to walk. It’s a whopping 3,200m to Ochaeji. I feel a little dizzy… (Altitude sickness?) Let’s get some oxygen~ 3,500m is a place where altitude sickness is likely to occur, so you should definitely prepare an oxygen can. Hmm. I think it’s okay. But the weather is really nice right now. Cloudy weather. Wow, the sky is so pretty. Although I couldn’t take the bus and had to walk, the trek to Ochaeji was so great. We arrived at the [observatory] not long after we started walking (there was also an oxygen bar selling oxygen haha) Wow. Wow, what is this place? Wow, this is really crazy. This is the travertine landscape that can be seen in the mountains of Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou regions. It’s an incredibly highland area with an altitude of 4,000 to 5,000m, and you can see the travertine valley flowing between the mountains. This is Zhengyan Color Pool (You have to go higher to get to Ochaeji) Wait a minute, you have to go up there to get to Ochaeji! (A fork in the road leading down to the observatory and up to Ochaeji.) Follow the signs and head from Ochaeji. (You can see everything on the way down.) If you go this way, you’ll find an oxygen bar. It’s essential for altitude sickness. We bought some in advance. Check your altitude . Oh, it’s currently 3,547m . Okay, it seems like we’ve come quite a bit, right? Just a little further and you’ll reach Hwangryong Ochaeji. This is the starting point of the climb to Ochaeji. There’s an oxygen bar and it’s crowded. (Bus drop-off point) Now, it’s a steady climb up the stairs. (Altitude sickness starting to set in.) Is it hard…? Oxygen cans are essential near Ochaeji. It’s so pretty up ahead. Seriously , but this place is really pretty. Wow, it’s beautiful. It’s called travertine topography, and it’s all naturally formed. It feels great. Really, how is it? I love it. Before climbing Ochaeji, there’s a temple called [Hwangryongsa] . A traditional performance was in full swing in the square in front of the temple. Finally, we arrive at [Ochaeji] , a naturally formed travertine terrace. It’s truly mystical and beautiful. Wow. Now, the downhill trek begins! We still have 3,900m to our exit… We’ll be there soon! There’s a restaurant just down here. You know how in Korea, when you go up a mountain, you see these kinds of verses written all over the place? I think it’s the same here. Some people even carry oxygen tanks hanging from their necks. They were walking around with a hose connected to the oxygen bag . Wow… On the way down, we arrive at [Zhengyan Pool] . It’s so beautiful. The sky and the air are intertwined… The camera can’t capture it all. Oh, it can’t… It’s so beautiful… The landscape of the Yellow Dragon makes you stop in your tracks. It’s the result of thousands of years of sediment. It’s truly mystical and beautiful… It’s so beautiful. (Since it’s so beautiful, I took a selfie.) So beautiful… This is why we walk. To enjoy it on the way down… Ah, this is the primeval forest path, and that’s the tourist road. Wow, there’s a hidden pond like this in the forest! I wonder what the first person to discover it felt like? I feel that way. Wow.. We got down in almost an hour. Hey, luggage collection, it’s right there on the left of the tourist center! Now let’s collect our luggage and catch a taxi to Huanglongjiuzhai Station. It was so good. Seriously. [Taxi ride] It takes about 30 minutes to get to Huanglongjiuzhai Station and costs 150 yuan. The ride is so enjoyable because we enjoy the scenery outside the window. (Tibetan culture visible everywhere) Oh, this is Mani Cha! [Arrived at Huanglongjiuzhai Station] Wow, we ‘re back at Huanglongjiuzhai Station. Wow, my calves are sore… We walked a lot. Before going to catch the train, let’s go to the food court and have lunch! The food court is on the 2nd floor of a different building from the train station. Ah! It’s a Korean restaurant! I really wanted Korean food, and I found one! Oh, right. Then this and this. But why is the tteokbokki spicy? It had a mala flavor… (For Korean palates, it was just so-so…) This is a Korean restaurant, but I think it’s because it’s a localized version of Korean food. Now, let’s go catch the train! It’s really crowded. There’s a baggage check here at the train station and another ticket check there, so we have to get there early. (We hurried so much that we arrived with plenty of time.) We’re on the train to Chengdu. We took first class on the way back, but second class on the way back, so it’s a bit cramped and crowded. We arrived at Chengdu East Station. It took about two hours. But I’m glad we arrived early. (It’s currently 4:30 PM.) Now, let’s begin our full-fledged Chengdu trip! To be continued…. Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, Chunxi Road Subway Station . After our Jiuzhaigou tour, we’re back in Chengdu! For our last two days and one night in Chengdu, we booked a hotel on Chunxi Road, the heart of the city. (Right in front of Exit A of the subway.) The hotel entrance is at the back of the building. [Zenec International Hotel] I checked in and saw a room service guide, and it was all Sichuan cuisine . After checking in, we went up to our room. It was a business queen room in the 80,000 won range (I booked a special room for 60,000 won, but I think they upgraded me) . There wasn’t even a smell of cigarettes! The sink, shower, and toilet were all separate. Chunxi Road was right in front of us, so we decided to go out! [Chunxi Road] Wow, there were so many people. We found [Jiantun Guokui], a street food I’ve always wanted to try in Chengdu . Korean? Yes, Korean. Haha . Korean! Nice to meet you ! (The staff member greeted us in Korean. Haha.) Pork was 12 yuan, beef was 14 yuan. We chose beef. When we went to pay, there was a really long line out front. It must be a famous restaurant! We waited for 20 minutes and got our food. How did it taste? It turns out the beef was mala flavored lol (I like mala, but my husband can’t eat mala…) The bread was super crispy and delicious. (A person with a Shu style passed by lol) I discovered something else interesting on the way. I thought it was Uniqlo, but it’s a copycat Uniqlo brand (aren’t they too similar… lol) There were quite a few copycat brands (so blatant that I was confused if they were copies or not… lol) Let’s go into Popmart, a must-visit place in China. If you come to China, you have to buy something like this~ (I really want a Labubu, so I’m seriously considering it in front of the random box) Since the Labubu is on shelf number 6, I’m guessing it’ll be in the 6th random box lol It’s 70 yuan (14,000 won in Korean currency). I bet my luck on the random box and happily leave. lol (But there really is a Labubu!) It’s here! You can see Chunxilou’s signature panda. Everyone’s lining up here to take pictures~ It’s a cute giant panda hanging from the building. Haha (I heard many people go to the rooftop to get a good view of the building.) Wow, this is fake fruit. It’s really amazing. I needed a break, so I came to a massage shop. I decided on a 40-minute leg massage. 129 yuan per person. Oh. It was great~ It was incredibly refreshing! (Chinese massages are truly amazing.) I came to [Anshunlang Bridge]. It’s a historic bridge that’s even mentioned in Marco Polo’s travelogue, and I heard there’s a pub & bar nearby, so I came to enjoy the night. Cruise ships even go by! I had to visit this night view spot~ Crossing the bridge, there are lots of street vendors, and it’s a real tourist attraction! I’ll be open until late~ Welcome! As soon as I arrived, I found a pub with a nice atmosphere right in front of Anshunlang Bridge. I decided to explore a bit more. I looked for a quiet place to enjoy the night view with a beer, but all I found were noisy live pubs. It’s only quiet in the areas without shops… I went back to the shop I’d first seen. A nice riverside seat~ (Interpreting the menu…) Is this Chinese beer? It’s Chengdu beer! This is the local beer we’ve been looking for! We’re spending our last night in Chengdu with a glass of Chinese beer. Hello. It’s our last day in Chengdu. Today, we’re touring Chengdu and will be taking a night flight back to Korea. (Our flight is at 12:30 AM, so we’ll be sightseeing all day.) Before we catch the subway, we stop by the underground shopping mall for breakfast. What should we eat? Oh, they also sell dumplings. Should I try one? They look delicious! We ordered a plate of dumplings. No mala powder. (My husband can’t eat mala…) Thank you! 15 dumplings for 12 yuan (very cheap). Then, we go for the “chuanchuanxiang” (mala skewers) that I’ve always wanted to try in Chengdu. Since the place also serves Korean food, my husband, who can’t eat mala, ordered the beef bibimbap. After ordering, I started by eating the dumplings I bought nearby. The dumplings were delicious regardless of taste . The owner explained how to eat Chuan Chuan Xiang. (Body language is the most accurate and fast, haha.) It’s a system where you take out as many skewers as you want and pay all at once later. (I ate a ton, haha.) But it only came to 41 yuan (including bibimbap, about 8,000 won in Korean currency). The Chuan Chuan Xiang was so delicious! Now, let’s take the subway to People’s Park. (It’s easy to take the subway these days~ haha.) [People’s Park] We came here because we heard there’s a 100-year-old tea house inside People’s Park. [Heming Tea House] There were a lot of people eating snacks together, so we decided to buy something simple. Something that people were eating earlier looked delicious. Isn’t it something like this? (There was a sunflower seed tasting.) It was Heming Tea House’s own brand of sunflower seeds, and it was so fragrant and delicious. We decided to buy a whole box to enjoy with tea. (25 yuan.) Now, let’s head to the tea house~ We also find a seat. The weather was so hot, but they were also selling refreshing iced tea. Ta-da~~ They said I could get a refill. So, keep the receipt. The tea came in a huge bottle. Haha. Let’s enjoy tea time! There was also a performance of pouring tea with a tall teapot (this is said to be a tradition of Sichuan tea culture). As I was drinking tea while cracking sunflower seeds, an hour or two flew by. I loved the humming tea shop! What is this? It seems like they sell tea like this? Oh, they sell it in tea like this? Oh, it’s so cute. There was also a face changing toy. Haha. Now, let’s go to the hot place in People’s Park! This is [Jungmae Park] inside People’s Park. Wow, there’s even someone born in 1953 here. People of all ages and qualifications write about themselves and their ideal partners and find a partner! (It’s so cool.) Oh, it’s a men’s corner. Men’s corner. I’ll find someone nice . Oh, I ‘m 178cm tall. Not bad. I was born in 1987 and I heard they have a camper van. Oh, nice. This is fun. Now, let’s head out to People’s Park. There was another teahouse on the way out, but maybe because the Humming Tea House is so famous, it was a bit deserted. Now, let’s take a Didi taxi and head to the historical and cultural center of Chengdu [Wuhou Temple & Jinli Street]. We’ve arrived at Wuhou Temple. Wuhou Temple was originally built to commemorate Zhuge Liang, but here you can meet major figures from the Three Kingdoms period, such as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei . After Wuhou Temple, let’s head to Jinli Street. (I heard Wuhou Temple is really popular with Chinese people.) Hello! A foreigner..? Yes, yes! The staff member who recognized us as Korean told us where to buy tickets in Korean. Thank you! I found a self-service ticket booth on my way to the ticket booth. Since it’s a famous tourist attraction, the kiosk had good English instructions. I entered my passport number and paid, and my ticket purchase was complete~ (50 yuan per person). Done . Where can I get an audio guide? Let’s go ask! Ah, it’s here. Ah, it’s here. I’d like to rent a Korean audio guide. It says you can rent one on the right after entering the entrance. Entering Wuhou Temple~ Ah, it’s here. I’d like to rent an audio guide. The rental fee is 20 yuan, and the deposit is 100 yuan. (Total 240 yuan for two people) Now, let’s put on the audio guides and begin our tour of Wuhou Temple in earnest. (While chatting with the audio guide, lol) Let’s do a lap like this. Oh, I see. Should I do a lap like this? Oh . Oh, is this by any chance a ticket to enter? Is this a ticket to enter? Oh, I think so. This is the famous resignation letter of Zhuge Liang . After Liu Bei died, he wrote this resignation letter before going on the Northern Expedition of Wei, saying that he would fulfill the dreams that Liu Bei could not . Now, let’s meet the characters of the Three Kingdoms one by one. It’s Liu Bei! The first emperor of Shu Han in the Three Kingdoms. Oh, there’s Zhuge Liang. Now, let’s go meet Zhuge Liang. They say the Chinese people really like Zhuge Liang. He’s even holding Zhuge Liang’s signature fan . There was only one flower in front of Liu Bei earlier, but there are many here. They say this place is lower than where Liu Bei was earlier (although Zhuge Liang seems to be more popular), and they say it was made like this because of the difference between a king and a subject. Ah, it’s hot. We’ve come to the souvenir shop inside the Wuhou Temple. Oppa, how about this? Isn’t this Zhuge Liang’s fan? Haha (Choosing a fan) Why can’t there be a real fan like this… (In the end, I couldn’t find a fan I liked…) But there were a lot of magnets . I couldn’t buy Zhuge Liang’s fan, but I bought a magnet of Zhuge Liang’s declaration of war. Next is the Sanyi Temple where Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei are located. Guan Yu , Liu Bei , Zhang Fei , and Zhang Fei are said to be the biggest victims in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (novel). (They became this rough-and-tumble image when it was adapted into a novel…) Interesting. Why is this left like this? It’s polite for Chinese people to offer cigarettes like this . Oh, you offered Guan Yu a cigarette? Oh, oh. And he gave me three because he likes the numbers 3 and 8. Oh~ This is where the stone statues of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei are lined up. Let’s go. Lastly, here’s a must-see spot in Wuhou Temple. This is the best photo zone in Wuhou Temple. Wow, this is awesome . Now that I’ve finished looking around Wuhou Temple and returned the audio guide, let’s head to Jinli Street. Wuhou Temple was fun. [Jinri Street] Wow! I discovered a traditional costume experience. I really wanted to try it, but I was pressed for time, so I just took a picture and left. It was so hot, so I decided to go to Starbucks and get something cold. After cooling off, I went out to explore Jinri Street again. I found an interesting store . There was a place that cuts out profiles (not drawing, but cutting) . It’s amazing. It seems like everything is done in an instant. Wow, a master. A master. Wow. Wow, so pretty. Awesome. Wow, really awesome. Let’s take a picture of this . Wow. Wow, really pretty. For a total of 110 yuan, I made the most special souvenir in Chengdu! Wow, awesome. This is truly the best souvenir. Let’s take a look around like this (the mannequins were so realistic lol) . Then I came back to buy fans. I gave up on the Zhuge Liang fan and chose a fan with a panda face on it (15 yuan) . Souvenir shopping is so much fun! Oh, it’s so refreshing. It’s refreshing. In front of the duck place, there was even a skewered duck! After browsing Jinli Street, shopping, and snacking, we had a great time and headed back to Chunxi Road! The sky was beautiful. Before leaving Chengdu, I came to [Taikoo Li] for the last time. It’s right next to Chunxi Road, but it’s a completely different street. If Chunxi Road had pandas, Taikoo Li has Mickey Mouse~ The street is beautifully decorated and lined with luxury brands (pretending to shop for luxury brands, lol) . Now, let’s go down to the basement. I heard there’s a supermarket in the basement, so I’m going to do some shopping there and have dinner before heading to the airport. I found a restaurant~ (It was a health food specialty store.) I came to a supermarket called [Olleh Food Hall] located on the M floor of this shopping mall. I’ll do my last shopping here. I was going to buy tea, but there was a tasting corner, so I decided to try some. It’s amazing. Wow, the scent is completely different. I tried a few different ones and ended up buying the jasmine one. (100 yuan per can) As I was about to leave, the fountain show suddenly started. I’m leaving Chengdu without any regrets, and I’ll enjoy the finale show. Haha. Now, I’m packing my bags at the hotel and heading to the airport. After four nights and six days of Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou, I’m heading back to Korea! Bye~ Have a nice day, Chengdu!
