We pass by an arcade shop with claw games. Oh no it’s claws games It’s bad for our money (we’re going to want to spend). We were supposed to do the traditional thing, but in the end, (we’re attracted to cute plushies, as always.) I’m counting on you to catch it. Another objective is to wear a yukata. Scouting for a kimono rental shop, we opted for the Nanako shop. I need to film you too, wait. That looks so good on you! What bag did you choose? It’s the bag with the same pattern as the Yukata. At least mine was free Actually, it’s so rare to see men wearing kimonos that they get lots of accessories for free, unlike women. I, on the other hand, had to pay for everything: the hairstyle, the shoes and the rest. But as I’m a real fan of kimonos, I must say that I really appreciated the welcome and the service, which was even warmer than when I rented a kimono in Kamakura. Very professional and extremely kind. A break at a Hong Kong-themed bubble tea shop. Small debrief to return the yukatas on time. A short stroll to aid digestion. Grandpa doing a U-turn on his bike. As we stroll along, we discover the city and eventually come across a small temple that is very popular with the Japanese. Where are we going? I don’t know, we’re going somewhere. Look over there, what is that? We were visiting the shops on the street. ( I almost took another rickshaw ride even though I’ve already done it! I didn’t spend any money this time. ) The carp are big. You arrive in an incredible street with many traditional shops, but that’s not all. It’s so cute with the sweet potato. Maybe sweet potatoes are the symbol of Kawagoe? We’re walking towards the kimono rental shop (to return the yukatas). The view behind the shop. We’re going back to the hotel now. Hey ! Nous avons passé une superbe journée dans la petite ville de Kawagoe, en nous baladant en yukata dans ses rues traditionnelles. Entre les nombreux temples, les spécialités culinaires et les cafés très sympas. Nous nous sommes arrêtés au HK , un bubble tea shop sur le thème de Hong Kong : une belle découverte !
Franchement, les meilleurs matcha que j’ai goûtés, c’est bien au Japon. D’ailleurs, la spécialité de Kawagoe, ce sont les patates douces sous toutes leurs formes.

Si vous êtes de passage à Tokyo, n’hésitez pas à faire un tour à Kawagoe : à seulement quelques minutes en train, c’est très accessible. Il y a moins de touristes, beaucoup de charme, et plein de jolies photos à faire ! 📸🍵

Hey! We had a wonderful day in the small city of Kawagoe, strolling through its traditional streets in yukata.

Amidst the numerous temples, culinary specialties, and really nice cafes, we stopped at HK, a Hong Kong-themed bubble tea shop. It was a great find! Honestly, the best matcha I’ve ever tasted is definitely here in Japan. By the way, Kawagoe’s specialty is sweet potatoes in all their forms.

If you’re ever in Tokyo, don’t hesitate to visit Kawagoe! It’s only a few minutes away by train and is very accessible. There are fewer tourists, it has a lot of charm, and you can take plenty of beautiful photos! 📸🍵

やあ！今日は川越という小さな町で、とても素敵な一日を過ごしました。浴衣を着て、昔ながらの街並みを散歩したんです。

たくさんのお寺や美味しい名物料理、雰囲気のいいカフェが並ぶ中で、私たちは「HK」という香港をテーマにしたタピオカ店に立ち寄りました。これが本当に大当たり！正直に言って、今まで飲んだ中で一番美味しい抹茶は、間違いなく日本のここで味わったものです。

ちなみに、川越の名物はさつまいもで、いろんな形で楽しめます。

もし東京に来ることがあったら、ぜひ川越にも足を運んでみてください！電車でほんの数十分で行けて、とてもアクセスが良いですよ。観光客も少なく、風情があって、写真映えするスポットがたくさんあります！ 📸🍵
