【Shima Kanko Hotel the CLASSIC 志摩観光ホテル ザ・クラシック】Ambassador Suite room/delicious food
Hello! Today, let’s go to a traditional, classic resort hotel in Ise-Shima, Mie Prefecture. Shima Kanko Hotel There are two hotels: The Classic and The Bay Suite. We stayed in Ambassador Suite room in the Classic this time.. Vdeo about the Bay Suite was previouly uploaded. Please take a look for the info. The Classic was designed by Togo Murano, a famous architect of the Showa era. Lobby is calm and charming The space, with its fresh flowers and fireplace, is lovely. We had afternoon tea at “cafe and wine bar Lien” in The Club, located next door. The Club was also designed by Togo Murano. The exposed beams suggest a Japanese-style atmosphere, but the lighting and furniture are modern and Western. The atmosphere is unique, blending Japanese and Western styles, classic and modern. The terrace seats offer a view of the spacious garden, creating a resort-like atmosphere. The tea served is Ronnefeldt. I like these “Marukichi Sugar Aqua Rock Sugar Molasses” syrup. The savory dish includes Ise tuna, Matsusaka beef, and abalone. A luxurious dish packed with luxurious ingredients from Ise! This was my first time experiencing afternoon tea with tokoroten. Two flavors: black honey and bonito flakes soup. My husband didn’t have afternoon tea, but instead ordered Matsusaka beef loco moco. It came with vegetable sticks and soup. I’ve had the Matsusaka beef hamburger before. Meal is delicious here. The tea stand is an original design made from wood from Mie. The lid, made of three boards, represents Kushida River, Miyagawa River, and Isuzu River that flow into Ise Bay. The handle is represent the beautiful sun rising from the torii gate of Uji Bridge at Ise Shrine. Open! This is nice! These sweets are light and high-quality. I can guess they use high-quality ingredients. They’re light and delicious. Ambassador Suite twin room on the 6th floor (57 ㎡). During 2016 G7 Ise-Shima Summit, USA rented out the entire 6F of the Classic for President Obama to stay. Let’s take a look around first. A relaxing living room with a warm wooden feel. A view of Ago Bay can be seen from the window. To the bedroom. The Simmons bed is huge, measuring 160cm wide and 203cm long! A glass-walled bathroom is on the right. It can be hidden with blinds. Ago Bay view from the bathroom. Shoes are removed at the entrance. The toilet is next to the entrance. The living room from another angle. It’s smaller than the 100㎡ Bay Suite, but still spacious enough. There’s no terrace, but the view of Ago Bay is amazing! Let’s take a look at the cabinet. UCC coffee and tea bags, a kettle, and a red coffee maker. Mineral water and cookies. Same as the Bay Suite. Open the door, there is tableware. Drinks in the refrigerator were inclusive. There’s a power outlet under the TV. International versions are also available. There’s also ample closet space. There was a deodorizing spray, a safe, and a clothes brush. The bathroom had a double sink. Let’s take a look at the amenities. A Refa hair dryer. A large-sized Mikimoto Cosmetics skincare set and hinoki-scented soap. Just like the Bay Suite, it was well-equipped. Bathrobes are also provided. A bright and relaxing bathroom. Moonpearl shampoo etc A stunning view of Ago Bay! Let’s go up to the Classic’s rooftop observation deck to watch the sunset. Beautiful sunset! You can see the Bay Suites over there. American snipers were stationed here during the summit. Now, we come down to the guest lounge on 2F. Out on the terrace, a spectacular view of Ago Bay was right in front. I was still able to see the magic hour. It’s getting dark, let’s go inside. The lounge offers alcohol, sweets, snacks, Soft drinks and coffee. the Bay Suites guests can also use this lounge. Pick-up and drop-off services are also available. Their original sweets are delicious. We had afternoon tea, so only some drink and snack for night. It’s convenient that there’s a gym across from the lounge. There’s no gym in the Bay Suites, so guests have to come here to use it. Good morning! The morning view of Ago Bay is also spectacular. We had brakfast at La Mer the Classic on 1F. We had a window seat. You can choose between a half buffet or a Japanese breakfast. We decided to go for the buffet. Same egg dishes as those served at La Mer in the Bay Suites can be ordered. Let’s take a look at the buffet area. The buffet is filled with high-quality dishes made with local ingredients. The French restaurant “La Mer” in the Bay Suites offers a set breakfast. Both have their own merits. It’s basically Western-style buffet, but they also offer a selection of Japanese dishes. Ise’s specialty, hand-kneaded sushi, was also available. For egg dish, I ordered “Eggs Benedict La Mer Style.”
Ham and poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with our original shrimp-flavored hollandaise sauce and baked,it’s a unique Eggs Benedict. The buffet food was also of excellent quality. It was delicious and we were very satisfied! After breakfast, I joined guided tour of the hotel. They shared stories such as architecture and behind-the-scenes info. The tables used at the summit’s working lunch were made from Owase cypress. The chairs are made from Ise cotton and Iga braid. The desk next to it was used by author Toyoko Yamazaki for writing. Famous novel “The Magnificent Clan,” set at the Shima Kanko Hotel, was written here. Meals and tableware from the G7 Ise-Shima Summit, as well as signatures from world leaders, are on display. The tea room remains in its original state from the time of its opening. The “Guan” character at the entrance was written by Kawakita Handeishi, a businessman, politician, and one of Japan’s leading ceramic artists. After touring the cafe and wine bar “Lian,” we head out to the garden. Members of Imperial family visited the hotel and walk this garden. According to the guide, some parts of the garden were created specifically for their visits. At the end of the tour, don’t miss Tsuguharu Foujita’s masterpiece “Playing in the Fields,” located in the restaurant. We came to relax in the lounge before departure. The long tables overlooking Ago Bay are a lovely spot There’s less alcohol, but the snacks haven’t changed much. Time seems to pass more slowly here. It was a relaxing stay. This time, we stayed only at the Classic, but You can stay at The Classic and also access The Bay Suites’ lounge and restaurant, or vice versa. For more details, please refer to previous video of the Bay Suites. Let’s visit Ise Shrine and receive a boost of energy. New Year’s is a solemn and uplifting time, and Ise Shrine in green season is beautiful and seems to be overflowing with power.
