【コスパ良し】登山電車で行く絶景露天風呂とビュッフェを楽しむ~長野県 菱野温泉 常盤館~
How are you all? Welcome to the Nabe Travel Channel. This time, I’d like to visit Hishino Onsen Tokiwakan in Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture. I came by car, and it’s about 12 minutes from Komoro Interchange. There are some narrow sections along the way, so please be careful if you’re coming by car. This inn is, without a doubt, rare even in Japan, as it has a mountain railway inside the inn. It’s famous for its spectacular open-air bath at an altitude of 1,000 meters, which you can reach by riding the train . It was also renovated in August 2024. What kind of hotel is it? I’m looking forward to it. Let’s take a look together. Don’t forget to subscribe and rate the channel. Now, let’s start with the room tour. This time’s room is Room 452 at Saiuntei. What kind of room is it? Well, when you open the door, there’s a fairly spacious entrance. This is the main room. What kind of room is it? It’s quite spacious. It’s wide both vertically and horizontally, so there’s plenty of space. The building itself is a little old in places, but the wood smells nice and the use of tasteful indirect lighting creates a very relaxing space . There’s a sink here, and the lighting above is cute too. There’s nothing particularly spectacular about the view outside. We’re staying with three people today, but the size is no problem at all. Here are towels and indoor wear. You’ll need to take a towel with you when you go to the bathroom. I wonder what’s on this side. Here is the bedding. Also, it can be divided here. It feels like it can be divided in the middle. Next, here is the tea set. Go downstairs and there’s the refrigerator. This time, I booked through Rakuten Travel, and we were given an autumn treat: matsutake mushroom dobinmushi and a buffet plan, and the room was a 17.5 tatami Japanese-style room at Saiuntei. There are three people in this video, but the price for two people on a weekday was 44,300 yen.We have arrived at the lobby on the first floor, and next to it, let’s take a walk around the inn.First , there are welcome drinks and welcome food next to the front desk. There are also amenities and a shop next to the front desk. Also on the first floor, there is a manga corner, a relaxation corner , a laundry space, and a karaoke room for activities.Hishino Onsen Tokiwakan is a long-established inn that was founded in 1887.It seems to have been 140 years, but it is well maintained.Next , there is the hot spring. There is a large public bath on the first floor and an open-air bath with a view that can be reached by Tokiwakan’s famous mountain railway. This is the train that goes to the open-air bath.I’ve been to many places, but this is my first time going to a hot spring by mountain railway.Amazing 。 It’s nice! The mountain railway is 130m long, with an elevation difference of about 50m, and you can enjoy the scenery during the ride, which is about one and a half minutes. The junction shakes quite a bit and is a bit scary, but we arrived safely. It’s cool after all, and smells nice. This is Kumojo Station, which has an open-air bath and a cafe space, and you can also have a snack here. This is Kumojo Open-Air Bath, which was renovated and reopened in August 2024. When the weather is nice, it’s incredibly beautiful. A panoramic view of Yatsugatake, Tateshina, Okuchichibu, and Sakudaira spreads out before you, and you can enjoy the hot springs while looking at the panorama. The air is clean. Although there is an additional fee, if you walk a little from Kumojo Station, you will find the authentic Finnish sauna, TOJIBA . It has an original stove made by local craftsmen and 250kg of sauna stones. There is also a cold bath using water from the side of Mt. Asama, and an open-air bath in the forest, which is irresistible for sauna lovers. The mountain railway on the way back was also quite scary. After the hot spring, I’m hungry, so let’s go and look for dinner. Dinner this time will be at Kamado Dining Momi. The plan this time is seasonal dishes and a half buffet. At Masu Dining Momi , you can enjoy delicious, piping hot dishes made with local ingredients, including seasonal tempura made with freshly fried local vegetables and fluffy rice cooked in a traditional Japanese stove. There were plenty of dishes , including vegetables, homemade hamburgers, and grilled seafood. Besides tempura, there were plenty of fried dishes, too. Speaking of Nagano, there are soba noodles and fruits, including Shine Muscat grapes. Well then, everyone, thank you for your hard work! Tokiwakan’s specialty is simmered Saku carp. Carp tends to have a muddy smell, but it wasn’t at all smelly. The sweet and spicy sauce made it very delicious. Other dishes include Shinshu salmon and carp wash. There was also a matsutake mushroom earthenware pot, and when combined with the half buffet, the portion was quite substantial and satisfying. The more I chewed the simmered carp, the more flavor it released, and the plump flesh was very delicious. If you really don’t like carp, you can change it to roast beef if you ask in advance, so I recommend checking the website beforehand if you plan to go. Also, the seasonal delicacy this time was matsutake mushroom, but in spring it changes to bamboo shoots and in summer it changes to grilled sweetfish with salt. The matsutake mushroom had a great aroma and was delicious. I couldn’t help but drink alcohol. Next, I would like to take a look at the breakfast buffet at the same venue. The breakfast menu features many dishes using local vegetables. You can enjoy home-style flavors such as stir-fried burdock, fried eggplant, and simmered dishes. I don’t usually have a chance to eat simmered food, so I’m really happy to be able to eat it on an occasion like this. The menu may be simple, but each dish was very tasty and I was very satisfied. I was very satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the food, both in the evening and in the morning. The hot springs were soothing, and the food made me feel like I was getting healthy from the intestines, which was great. I felt very satisfied, and I think it was a very good value inn. If you’re in the area, please stop by and check it out. If you enjoyed it, please rate it highly and subscribe to the channel. See you in the next video.
