Good morning. We are a newlywed, unemployed couple traveling around Japan on our honeymoon , eating lots of delicious food all over the country. Today we are on a big journey, a drive. I think we finished the Akita Prefecture part in the last video, but we are now on the Oga Peninsula. We will head north from the Oga Peninsula and finally… enter Hokkaido, which we have been saying we would go to for a long time. No travelers are entering Hokkaido at this time of year. It’s too late to evacuate. (Photo taken on August 11th) Although it’s a little late… we are planning to enter Hakodate by ferry from Aomori City, so it will be a long drive to Hakodate City. The total distance traveled this time is 300km. Let’s do our best. I can’t believe we’ll be in Hakodate this evening from Akita. It doesn’t feel real at all. Today we are entering Hokkaido, so I would like to make a video of this day of our big journey. Well, off we go ! Let’s drive! Hakodate! I’ll give back my Apple Watch and head off to Akita(?)! Not Akita, I don’t know where I am. First I’m heading to Aomori, but it will take 4 hours to get there. Now, there’s one last thing I want to eat in Akita. Wow, I got eaten. Speaking of Akita, let’s eat that! Finally, I’ve arrived at my first destination , so I bought some misozuke tampo. Apparently , Akita has two types of kiritanpo, the kiritanpo hotpot with Hinai chicken soup that I made a video of the other day, and the misozuke tampo. I wasn’t able to eat it, so I searched for a shop and bought some at a famous place called Jujiya. I couldn’t fit it all in the food video, but I’ll eat it one last time and leave Akita with no regrets. Looks delicious. Amazing. Amazing. Exciting. Exciting. Exciting. Request: I’ll enjoy the calmness of a woman in her 30s ! Mmm! Mmm! Delicious! Delicious! The outside was crispy and browned, and it was amazing! Was it a miso-like? Sweet? Sweet miso? Sweet miso? The rice texture was still there, and it was so good! It was so delicious! This is why the kiritanpo at this kiritanpo shop is so delicious! It was cooked to perfection, and it was cooked by machine, right? I can imagine it being cooked by machine . Finally, I’m so happy to be able to eat such delicious food in Akita ! And now, on to Aomori City… What? I’ve never done that before , so I’m heading towards Aomori City! Let’s go ! Let’s go! Aomori GO ! (2nd time) Okay, so Hiyori’s driving (rare)! We’re heading towards Aomori City now. It looks like we’ll arrive earlier than expected. I thought we’d arrive around 3pm, but it looks like we’ll arrive around 2pm, so it looks like we’re on track. That means we might be able to get something to eat in Aomori. I’m on my way for lunch, so please drive, I’ll leave it to you! Please drive safely Everything had been going smoothly up until this point Um , listen, we’ve arrived in Aomori city safely (it’s currently 2:30 pm). The restaurant we wanted to go to is a ramen shop called Hirakoya, but it’s temporarily closed . There was one more restaurant I wanted to go to, which I went to when I came to Aomori last year, but there was a place that wasn’t filmed, and it ‘s a restaurant I mentioned in this video called Nagao Chuka Soba, which also serves dried sardine ramen. I checked the opening hours before heading there, but I just missed the closing time. There were still people queuing, so the restaurant itself was open. Also, the restaurant was open until 4 pm, but when I arrived at 2:20 pm it was closed (probably because they had run out of soup). So what do I do now? Hirakoya and Nagao Chuka Soba both have other stores , so if I can’t go to those, I’ll be back to square one . I’m so hungry now, all I can do is have Kiritanpo today! I’ve only eaten kiritanpo and babahera ice cream, so of course I’m hungry. I’ll have to wait until then to see if I’ve eaten anything. Please, let me eat . I don’t want to go all the way to Hakodate on an empty stomach . I’m hungry. Also, there’s only an hour and a half until the ferry leaves and I have to check in by 4pm (it’ll be dangerous if I have to wait in line). I had planned it with plenty of time, so even if I eat ramen I’ll still be at the ferry terminal more than two hours early. But it’s starting to get dangerous, so I’ll check out a few stores. This is bad. We’ll be there soon. Hiyori checked for me, but if the place we’re going to is closed, then there really isn’t anywhere else to go. We can’t go to a store far away because of the time, so this is my last hope (I really want dried sardine ramen). Please! I want to eat lunch. Will I be able to eat this time? It’s a different branch of Hirakoya, which I wanted to go to first. That’s great. So, I ordered this dark ramen first. This is it. And I ordered another one, a light ramen. I’m looking forward to being able to eat two different types, so I’ll start with ramen on an empty stomach. It’s delicious , it permeates my entire being. This is light, with the sharpness of the raw soy sauce and the concentrated acidity and umami of the dried sardines. This is the best dried sardine ramen. The dark ramen I ordered was packed with dried sardines, and the soup was so delicious that it felt like drinking dried sardines. The best Next, we slurped down the noodles. We both had the same noodles. I think they were probably the same. The noodles had a firm texture, but were also chewy and delicious. Apparently, these noodles are handmade every morning and the recipe changes depending on the temperature of the day. There were also two types of pork slices. They also seem to be particular about the pork slices , using local pork called Towada Garlic Pork. It’s great to have locally produced pork. And we swapped our noodles halfway through. If two people order two types, you can get this . No, it’s the best. Seriously, the strong flavor and the dried sardine meat. It was so good and delicious! Two completely different flavors. I wondered whether to line up, but it was worth it. Thank you for the meal! Niboshi ramen is the best. So I went to Hirakoya Kiboshi. It was delicious ! I was surprised ! It was so good ! I was already hungry, so it was delicious! So it looked like I’d make it in time. Thank goodness! Finally, we were approaching the ferry terminal. We were just about 40 minutes before, actually 50 minutes before. That’s just about the last minute! We were supposed to arrive two hours early and look around for souvenirs! Why was it so close? Well, it was all because of the temporary closure and the closed reception . It can’t be helped, no one’s at fault. This is it! Turn right here, turn right here ! Here it is! The ferry reception says turn left, then turn left here , then here, turn left, and this is the Tsugaru Strait Ferry, the Tsugaru Strait Ferry ! Right there! That ‘s check-in, finally check-in. All you have to do is scan the QR code, check the details, and press the ticket issue button. A boarding pass will be issued for each person. Still no tickets, no more? We’ve arrived at Hakodate, Hokkaido! It’s been a while! I’m super excited! It’s been a year since I last came here. First of all, are you hungry? No , not really, but let’s have dinner.
