「ばけばけ」のあの場所 八重垣神社|鏡の池の恋占いとスサノオ伝説
The morning drama Bakebake — that memorable place. Yaegaki Shrine. About five kilometers from Matsue Station, roughly a ten-minute drive. This is Yaegaki Shrine, known as the “Sacred Place of Love” in Matsue. The shrine’s main hall is built in the grand Taisha-zukuri style. Legend says that when the god Susanoo defeated the eight-headed serpent, Yamata-no-Orochi, he hid the goddess Kushinadahime in this forest, called Sakusame-no-mori. In Bakebake, Episode 5 of the first week, Toki visits the Mirror Pond with her coworkers Chiyo and Sen. The famous “Love Fortune” ritual is held at this pond. You place a coin on a small paper boat, and set it afloat on the water. If it sinks quickly, love will come soon; if it sinks nearby, you’ll get married with someone close to you. So… what do you think Toki’s fortune revealed? It is also said that if a newt— the sacred messenger of Kushinadahime—appears in the pond, it’s a sign of good luck. I’ll continue to introduce more filming locations from Bakebake.
I hope you’ll enjoy following along with me.
