Lomé City Tour. Togo
So, you know, actually they took me to the police sitting back there and know the police said, “Oh, did you film them [Music] L is the capital city of Togo and is the country’s administrative and industrial center which includes an oil rifinery It is also the country’s chief port on the Gulf of Guinea from where it exports coffee, cocoa, copra and oil palm conels. It is very popular for West African business communities for its relaxed custom and duties. In another word, they have a relaxed tax code. I tried to film around the port and I was told that filming was not allowed there. The name Lumi derived from Away language which means in the middle of alo trees or within Alo trees only 95 miles away from Kotonu Benin Republic to the east 19 miles away from Acra Ghana to the Yes. Heat. [Music] [Music] Oow. All right. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] What you do? Okay. Hi guys. I I think I think it’s very windy. I don’t know. But I’m going to say this. I just got stabbed by some guys back there because I was vlogging, pointing my camera to myself to vlog. They said I cannot film myself. Why? And they said well because vlogging is not allowed in in how do you call it in Li. So you know actually they took me to the police sitting back there and know the police said did you film them? I said no I did not film them but I was filming myself going through to come to the beach as you you guys saw me just now coming and he said well can I can he see the the footage? I show him what I filmed. He looked at it. He said that’s true. I didn’t film them, but he said, “You know, by the way, you cannot film in Togo. Vlogging is against the law here.” So, I said, “Wow.” He said, “Yep, you got to have a permission from the police. The police has to give you a permit to be able to vlog. Otherwise, you’re going to get into some serious trouble.” So, I said, “Oh, bullshit.” I thought to myself, maybe he’s lying to me. But when I walked away, I pulled my cell phone out and Google vlogging in. Literally, it says vlogging is you can get into some serious trouble for vlogging. I say, “Holy shit.” So anyway, I I don’t think I’m going to stay in Togo for too long in particularly in Lomi for too long. I don’t want to get into trouble for some kind of a stupid thing. I’m just vlogging, doing my own document, my own journey. Never had a problem in Bkina, but here is completely different story. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to leave maybe by tomorrow. I’m going to just I’m going to go to Kotaloo and then from Kotaloo I’m going to come by and shoot to Ghana. really really careful you know when before you come here please Google and see exactly what you’re going to expect when you come here mostly when I was vlogging to uh in the morning nobody said anything and I went to market place in all these places vast majority of the time I was at the back of the motorbike I think that’s the best place to vlog around this kind of neighborhood so anyway now I’m trying to vlog if somebody complain bring you to the police to a police station you’re going to be in serious trouble so Guys, watch out. The city is beautiful people at night that you cannot [Music] Look at that. All right. This is the beach. Actually, I’m on the beach now. You know, the one across the street from the marketplace. So, I’m right here just trying to film around. I’m filming. You’re going to be on my camera, bro. Yes. Okay. Yes. Okay. What do you want? 500 for me? Yes. No, no, no. It’s okay. I got camera. Why would I? No, no, now. No, no, no. It’s okay. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you. All right. All right. This the market over there. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Lomé is the capital of Togo, in West Africa. It’s known for its palm-lined Atlantic coastline. The central Independence Monument is in a landscaped traffic circle. The nearby Congressional Palace houses the National Museum, exhibiting West African jewelry, masks, musical instruments and pottery. To the northeast, the Akodésséwa Fetish Market sells voodoo items like animal skins and skulls.
