岡山を探索 – 美しい運河沿いの街並み

All right, here we are everyone. Welcome back to the perfect walk. My name is Clint and we are in Okyama walking city streets and today looking for a little green canal street which should be you know somewhere in this general action. So, we will try and find it together somewhere this way. We can’t miss it. It’ll be the one with the giant canals or greenway. Lots of plants, lots of trees. I’m trying to figure out what that translation was supposed to be, But it does make me feel safe that if I’m staying at that hotel, the all strongarmmed squad will not be allowed in. Although, who’s going to stop them? I mean, it’s one thing to hang a sign. It’s another thing to actually stop the all strong armed squad. I don’t know. These are the things we must ponder. Here’s a little bit of green. Is this a green enough to be a greenway? Here’s a sign we’re about to figure out. No, but we’re close. All right, we are here. One, two, three more and we’ll get to a bridge. And that’s the green way. Pretty pretty pretty cool. There we go. Good timing. We got the light. Startardom group. This is where I go for my audition. stardom group and the Ministry of Defense is also there. Interesting. Don’t turn into the wrong office. [Music] It is exciting to me that there is shade at the for the majority. majority of this walk. Once we get to this green canal street, presumably there will be trees along the route, which will make your boy very happy because Sendai, this is not And it is starting to get a little bit toasty today. Another tram up here. Little cable car. This one has a little bare face. I see a tree straight ahead all the way down the block. That might be That might be our street. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe, maybe maybe Doy do. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. All right. Do you see the tree up here now? I’m wondering if this is our cross street. Actually, I can cut the corner because I see a canal lined greenway right over here. Maybe I’ll pull up Google Maps and check before we start walking down it. But it looks good. It looks like a match. Looks good for our canal. We shall see. See? All right, time to check the Google maps and see if we have indeed found it. But this looks good. This looks good. Believe it or not, we’re not there, but we’re almost there. If we follow this, it takes us straight to where we want to be. So that’s what we’ll do. We’ll follow this and then take the greenway. This te’s right into the greenway. And this is pretty. So this works for sure. This city seems like a pleasant place to live. I’m not sure, you know, that it has all the tourist bells and whistles that people are always looking for. But uh for me this has been a joy to explore. Looks like a very nice [Applause] [Music] place. Cue the motorcycle gang, right? I think I headed the wrong direction. Had the right idea, but I turned left and I should have turned right. This was getting progressively less treelined, which made me think to look at Google Maps. So, stuff happens this way. Always better to double check rather than take yourself two miles out of out of the way you want to be. I don’t want to ever get to a place where I’m too tired to do a walk with y’all before I get to the thing that I wanted to see with y’all. So now we’re on the right track and the sun is at our back which always makes for a beautiful saturated video with all the blues and greens and reds popping. Papa lockin. Yeah, this is right. This is right. We were walking into the sun and we should have been walking west. Now that we’ve got that sorted, let’s mosy And in terms of the greenway we’re looking for, I think this is one of the those you’ll know it when you see it kind of deals. But we’ll be looking to turn right onto that greenway to continue our walk. I think I see it. I do. I do. I do see the greenway. Fun getting lost with y’all. But we once were lost and now we’re found and we’re here at the greenway and you’ll be able to immediately tell. Oh yeah, this is a thing. I think he was saying hello to y’all. Here we go. Greenway and Family Mart. Both good things. All right, here we are. It was a fun little walk to get here, but it is beautiful. Woo! Time for me to pause and take a brief drink. I’ll be right back with you. [Applause] All right, I stopped. I rested. I had a delicious hikari sweat, which is not an exercise. It’s a beverage. And I’m ready to keep walking with you. We’re going to walk all the way to the station together. Very much looking forward to that. And it should be a gorgeous walk. Greenway almost the whole way. [Applause] Flowers smell incredible as you can probably imagine. Let’s see. Well, that’s a minor inconvenience. Oh, an actual canal gate. Ping pong. Problem with that light changing is that it just means that this one is going to be a minute. So, we’ll stand in the shade instead of in the heat. [Music] Come on, light. There we go. It’s walking time everybody. Ping pong. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Ping pong. Let’s go. Here we go. Okay. Hopefully we won’t have to wait like that at every intersection, but no complaining. Another section of the greenway. Let’s go. Oh, a wooden walkway on this one. I do love that it’s not a uniform look and feel. It’s like it’s done in sections like a meandering vertical Japanese garden. Ah, lightning bugs. I bet that’s crazy cool. That’s very neat. Come down to the greenway and watch the lightning bugs in the city. How cool. Gorgeous. What’s the city in the US that had a walkway that reminds me of this? I mean, lots do, but there’s one. Is it Omaha? I think it might be downtown Omaha that had a kind of a greenway that wasn’t a tourist area. It was just a park. Finish. What? And here is the name Nishawa Canal Walk Avenue. All right, we are here. We’re going to go one, two, three more major streets and then over to the station. So stick with me until the very end of this canal section. The walk to the station from there we already did. And I’ll wrap up our walk today at the end of this canal avenue. Nice statues. I believe that if I lived here, this is the walk that we would be doing together all the time. and this is what gets me about Japan. This canal avenue with the bustling city all around it and the beautiful smells and the vibrant colors. It’s not on any tourist must do list. It’s just not. But I would recommend this walk in this city over so many other famous, you know, mustd dos. I mean, there’s nobody here. Nobody. Like this is a a Sunday in a major city right before Golden Week starts and there’s just nobody and there’s certainly not crowds of tourists. So why wouldn’t you come here? Rant over. All right. So, I think another thing that is worth saying for me is that um I like midsize cities and small towns much better, much more than large cities. Now, Tokyo is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Like worth going. You absolutely should. You must see it. It’s the best big city in the world. And I haven’t been to all the big cities in the world, but I’m pretty close. China accepted. And I still need to get to Mexico City. Yeah, Tokyo is special. But uh if you like kind of cities the size of this, this is the the channel for you for sure. H. Cute little puppy. sitting in resting spots. [Music] And by the way, where we’re stopping is not actually the end of the the canal the canal avenue. Now, it keeps going for almost twice as far as we’re going to walk. So, doing the whole thing would be very cool. And it’s very different at night. I saw some pictures of this place at night and it’s crazy cool. So yeah, an exciting place and just very pretty and very calm. Good for the soul. Maybe we can go down this way towards the station. I said we wouldn’t film the station, but this looks like a different walk. A little bit more interesting. Kind of a shopping destination street. It’s time just about for me to look for some lunch, too. So, we’ll head up towards this mall, which looks to be attached to the station. I’ll probably get lunch at the station so I can check out the timets. Make sure I don’t miss the train. All right, everybody. I think this is it. We’ll see you in the next one.
