【福井観光】福井県立恐竜博物館&XRバス体験!WOW RIDEいこっさ福井号|ダイノシアターも満喫

Hello everyone, this is Ecotabi. I’m at the rooftop plaza of JR Fukui Station. Speaking of Fukui, dinosaurs are a thing! There are many dinosaur monuments around Fukui Station. I got off the rooftop plaza I was at earlier and arrived at the terminal at the east exit. Today, I’m going to take the “New Sensation XR Bus Tour WOW RIDE Ikossa! Fukui-go” to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum! The fare is 3,300 yen for adults. The passengers were mostly children, their parents, and foreign tourists. This new sensation XR bus tour projects augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) images onto the windows, allowing for an immersive virtual space experience. No VR goggles are required. What’s with this character? So cute! This bus runs from JR Fukui Station to FPDM, and the journey takes approximately 55 minutes. If you take other public transportation from JR Fukui Station to FPDM, it takes over an hour and 10 minutes, including the Echizen Railway Katsuyama-Eiheiji Line and a bus . This “New Sensation XR Bus Tour WOW RIDE Ikossa! Fukui” is actually the fastest public transportation option, excluding taxis. Apparently, you can enjoy a story-like video. It’s Nukumizu-san. What a great cast. Oh, Rapvena. It’s here again. Recommended! It’s not even a dinosaur. It’s a tree now (lol) So cool. I see, this is quite educational. I didn’t know plants and animals became fossils in the same way. They’re ignoring the dinosaurs and just introducing the city (lol) . It seems like a nice city. I’d like to go there someday. Since I can’t visit any of these three cities on this trip, I’ll have to come back to Fukui. The coloring is flashy. I don’t think these guys are going to introduce dinosaurs (lol) . Surprisingly cute. Wow, amazing. Quite realistic. Can’t they do that!? It’s no good at all… Can you go in at night? I’m a little curious. Wow, it’s impressive – amazing. It’s a three-sided theater . Like the dinosaurs in front of the station, the dinosaurs in Fukui are really realistic. They ‘re made from washi paper. Their necks are torn off (lol) Wow, nice. Phew, we finally arrived at the Dinosaur Museum. The bus ride was fun, but there were no windows so I was a little carsick. But the content was quite interesting. We bought tickets. It was 1,000 yen per adult. It seems you go down the escalator to the bottom of the building and view the exhibits from bottom to top. Wow, so this is how you find fossils. These dinosaurs are so realistic. Their movements are so realistic. Amazing. They look realistic even from behind. The fossils are big too. There are so many different types of large dinosaurs on display. It’s going to be hard to see them all. The stegosaurs are so cool! Because this dinosaur museum is so well-known, I assumed it must have been around for a long time, but it’s actually relatively new, having only opened in 2000. It reopened in 2023, and as you can see, it doesn’t feel old at all. This museum is considered one of the world’s three largest dinosaur museums, along with the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Canada and the Zigong Dinosaur Museum in China. That’s impressive! The permanent exhibits are divided into three zones: “The World of Dinosaurs,” “Earth Science,” and “History of Life.” In addition to the dinosaur exhibits, the “Earth Science” zone features exhibits of minerals, while the “History of Life” zone displays fossils of past animals. In addition to the fossil exhibits, you can also see the actual fossil cleaning process in the fossil cleaning room. As you can see, both the exterior and interior of this museum are unique, and apparently the design was by the renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa. It’s no wonder , it’s so sophisticated. I’ve been looking around for about an hour now, but there seems to be more to see. I never get bored, and if I lived in Fukui, I’d probably come here multiple times a year. Admission is 1,000 yen for adults, but an annual pass costs 3,000 yen, so if you live nearby, it’s worth purchasing one! This is a complete Tyrannosaurus skeleton. It’s huge. Fukuiraptor Kitadaniensis, discovered in Fukui Prefecture, is incredibly realistic. This area is the “History of Life” zone. Fossils of animals other than dinosaurs are also on display. The “Dinosaur World” zone is huge from above. The first floor houses the “Dinosaur World” and “Earth Science” zones, and the second floor houses the “History of Life” zone. This is the second floor, after all. Humanity is also in this zone. In addition to the main building, which we were in earlier, this museum also has a new wing, which was added during the 2023 renovation. We’ll move to the new wing now. This is the symbolic monument of dinosaurs and birds discovered in Fukui. This is the three-screen Dino Theater in the new wing. It’s incredibly impressive! The giant screen is 9 meters high and 16 meters wide. Please note that when a special exhibition is being held in this theater, the space will be used for the special exhibition, and the CG dinosaur footage currently being shown will not be shown. The video content will alternate between “Fukui Edition” and “Laramidia Continent Edition.” We’re now on to the “Fukui Edition.” Were there really that many dinosaurs around Fukui Station…? Well, I think it’s about time to head home. This was a museum I’d like to visit again next time I’m in Fukui. That’s all for today’s video. Thank you for watching. If you enjoyed it, please subscribe to the channel and give it a thumbs up.
