[鎌倉]北鎌倉を歩いてぐるっと1周コース

I will take the train from platform 9 at the Yokohama Station. Today’s walking route I’m going from the station to Kencho-ji. I’ll have lunch and then head back. This is loop route around Kita-Kamakura,I’ll visit Jochi-ji and Engaku-ji Temples. It’s 1-minute walk from the station to Engaku-ji. I would like to see the National Treasures at Engaku-ji:the Shariden(Relic Hall)and the Great Bell. You can go in fron here,but the main path to the temple begins across the train tracks. Trains pass right through the temple grounds. I will visit Engaku-ji last.After enjoying matcha tea there,Iwill head back. Meigetsu-in is a famous for its Hydrangeas. It gets very crowded in June.There are almost as many heads as there are flowers. I walk along the railway tracks. I walk past a cafe and soba shop. Kencho-ji is ranked first among the Five Great Zen Temples of Kamakura. I came here in the summer,so I won’t go today. Beyond the tunnel ahead is the way to Kamakura Station. You can travel from Kita-katamkura Station to Kamakura Station by bus. The restaurant serves Kenchinjiru,a soups that original at Kencho-ji,along with locally grown Kamakura vegetables. You eat from dishes made by ceramic artists. I wait while looking at the garden. Beautiful I want to try everything,so I’ll keep coming back. Hot soba feels too warm for this season. There are dining guidelines written here. Let’s turn back and go temple-hopping. Visiting days are fixed. I can’t enter today. Please take a look at the photos I took before. You take off your shoes.You sit and look at the garden. I cross the railroad crossing.I walk along Kamakura Kaido. I visit Jochi-ji. Walking here feels like it cleanses the heart. This temple is ranked fourth among Five Great Zen Temples of Kamakura. A gate whose design was introduced from Chana. Let’s go! There are statues of the Buddhas of the past,present,and future. There is no one here on weekdays. Kannon Bodhisattva is here. I usually visit one or two temples and then have lunch. You can walk to everything in Kita-Kamakura. It feels like I’m in a magical world. Bamboo grove and Yagura(grave). Let’s see the famous Seven Luky Gods. Touching Hotei’s belly is sad to give you power. A beautiful shoin. I wish I could live here. A cute lamp. I’ll watch it for a while. I came here once before with a large group. I didn’t notice how nice this place is. Visiting alone lets me see things at my own pace. I want to admire it once again. One-plate lunches with Kamakura vegetables and homemade cakes. Kita-Kamakura has many stylish restaurants. A temple with a beautiful garden.No photography allowed. Let’s engrave this in our hearts. A cafe with antique furniture.You should try sitting upstairs. A great chocolate store. I’ve returned to gate of Engaku-ji. The gate featured in the famous novel(Botchan). When passing through the gate,we let go of worldly desires. An impressive wooden building. That is the Buddha hall. I’m nervous because I’m all alone. May I take photos here? The white dragon looks powerful,but also surprisingly cute. Very few tourists are here. Zazen dojo Abbot’s Quarters. Impressive. I can hear crows.It goes perfectly with this view. National Treasure You can enter on the special public opening days. You can enjoy matcha tea here. This is a popular spot for autumn leaves. This tree is designated Natural Monument. The Mitsu-uroko family crest. The large bell is located at the top of long staircase. I’ve arrived at Benten Chaya. I climb the stairs. On sunny days,you can see Mount Fuji. I wonder where the big bell is. It was in front ot the tea house.All I could see was the matcha. Elegant! Very cool! It’s amazing they built is so high up. Usually it’s crowded in autumn,but today I got to see everything at my own pace. Maybe everyone ‘s waiting for the autumn leaves? No one is here…
