岡山を散策 – 城の眺望、街並み、そして日常生活
What’s up everybody? Welcome back to the perfect walk. My name is Clint and we are walking. We’re in Okyama and we are near the castle. We just left a beautiful Japanese garden. Hope you enjoyed that walk. Cool coffee shop right here with a castle view. Can’t beat that. But I think we can do better. I saw a bridge up here. We’re going to walk across that. And then we’re going to kind of get out into Okiyama proper and just explore the city a little bit and get lost. Here’s a map we can check out. All right, we are here. So, we’re going to cross over and then go that way and up. All right, there we go. There’s a proper castle view with little boats and everything. How about this? Not too shabby. The castle. How fun. Peach boats for Peach Boy in the city of Okyama. Not just swan boats, but peach boats. And the peach boats seem to be much more popular than the swan boats. [Music] They’re having some fun down there. Love it. trying to catch each other. Will boat number one catch boat number two? [Music] I love treble so much. All right, I hope you got a good look at the castle cuz we are not going to the castle today. Seen my fill and had my fill of very steep wooden stairs. But we’ll begin our exploration of the city by walking past the castle and to the south and then we’ll cut back to the east west to the west and then north up the canal park. So this might be more than one. These are steeper than I thought. This might be more than one walk in the city streets of [Applause] Okyama. Here’s the wall. Looks like they’re setting up for food stalls. It’s going to smell pretty good here in a minute. Looks like a rock fall from previous wall damage. Let’s see if the sign’s in English here and we can check it out. Or it was an external tower. Ah, QR code. That’s not happening. Whoever invented QR codes, nobody likes you. Left to enter the castle proper, right to escape into the city streets. That’s a right for us. But it does look like a fantastic castle. So, if you are here, you should probably do it. We will keep walking across the moat, which seems that they’ve made good use of the river as a moat. All right, we’ll go right and then left. How cool would it be to have a house with a castle view built on a moat? It’s got to be a heck of a real estate listing. All right. From here on out, no castles. Surface streets of a midsize Japanese city. And I am actually going to hit the restroom real quick. So, pause. All right, we’re back. When you find a good restroom with a trash can in Japan, you uh take advantage of it. This seems like a good place to cross the street. Ping pong. Ping pong. Looks like a museum. I’d love to take you inside museums, but most of the time uh strictly verboten in terms of filming inside. So, we usually have to pass on that. I think this is the library. See a little sign here. That’s a pretty massive library. We’ll dive a couple of streets over here. This looks interesting. We’re going to work our way a little bit diagonally to the southwest. A few streets here, a few streets there. Follow our whims. Cuz if we ain’t got whimsy, what have we got? It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood. A beautiful day in Okyama. Oh, hello. A little bit of castle. No, that’s from that museum. I think we’ll walk up to the street up here that has the green awning. It’s uh 10:00 a.m. here in Okyama. Cable car. Cable car. Cable car. I forgot to look and see if the city has any trams or cable or excuse me, not trams. Uh oh, there’s the there’s the red and blue one that we saw earlier. I love that one. So, maybe that’s H. I might have just discombobulated myself. We’ll see. Anyway, I was thinking about tramways, like ropeways, cable cars. I don’t think Oh man, there’s nothing like the smell of walking past a curry shop. Good god. I think the equivalent is probably walking past a barbecue restaurant in America. just knocks you out. Padler Coffee. What a beautiful little coffee shop. Just stuck back in here. This big fancy building is a bank. There’s another map. That’s convenient. Let’s check it out. [Applause] We are here. We want to end up here, but we want to go down. Let’s go down one, two, three more major intersections to the bridge to one of the bridges and then cut across until we get to the canal and walk that all the way back up. Okay, it’s a plan. [Music] They’ve done a nice job of putting those maps kind of everywhere and they’re very easy to read and in good condition. All right, we’re going to shoot for our standard length today on the walk. So, We’ll be looking at around 15 more minutes, I’d say, hanging out together. [Applause] Huh. Pretty little parkquette. Interesting blend of architecture in this city. Ah, bus depot Shiro Shita Suji Avenue. It’s like you’re going the wrong way. Literally everything is the other way. Why are you going this way? Nice try sign. You can’t stop us. Lots of banks. This is This is the Bank Avenue. To their credit, way to not be architecturally bland. Thanks. Not too shabby. That one was themed for the art museum. So, all the cable cars have a unique theme. I like that. Pretty cool. Pretty pretty pretty cool. Let’s go ahead and cross. Okyama bha noodle. Mia miairu. Wonder what a bha noodle is. I’ll have to look that up later. This is a cool street. Splendid members room. Wave. Freedom. Peacock. That looks like a cool street, too. Let’s be honest, everything’s cool. Oh, here’s a covered shopping street, I think. Let’s check it out. Will anything be open 10:30 on a Sunday? Oh, it says we’re just at the start of it. [Music] So, it goes all the way down that way. All the way down. Look, you’re walking. You’re all the way down there. You’re all the way down there. But that’s not the direction we’re going. We’re going this direction. So, we’ll get a little bit of shopping street majesty. [Music] [Music] That is a heck of a backpack, dude. [Music] What is that? What’s that? [Music] This This one is a [Music] vibe. I love these Japanese covered shopping streets. So cool. [Music] 50 yen. Pretty [Music] good. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Well, that was very fun for me. I hope it was fun for you. Little time [Music] [Music] capsules. All right. And we’ll go cut across this way and look for the canal street. Oh, how about this? Another little arcade. That’ll work. And we’ll just take this street across until we get to the canal park. That’s where we’ll wrap up this video and switch to the next one one week from now. little grocery store. Local grocery store. Cool. Cool. And another one up here on the corner. Organic. [Music] That has the air of a restaurant that’s been around a while, doesn’t it? [Music] Goodbye, kitty. Bad luck or no? Bad luck or no? Bad luck or no? And out into daylight. All right, everybody. I think this is where we will stop this walk and pick up next time. Thank you as always for the love and the support. We’ll see you then.

Very impressive inlaid paver on a good portion of today's walk. I am always impressed with the peacefulness of these walks throughout Japan. Sundays do seem a very good time to walk. Thank you again, for a great walk!
3:07 Beautiful view 😎Okayama looks quite nice town🙂Thank you for sharing this relaxing walk Wander🙂👍!!!
In honor of the cone mods I counted 82. I do not count pylons.
Also, QR codes on public stuff seems nice if done well. If say, people can scan it and start in their native language and learn cool stuff.
Maybe.
Good luck. Very good luck, great Cat!
Be well in your Wander.
