This place is said to be inspired by Venice, Italy. It’s divided into three districts, including La Veniche, a commercial area. Hello, everyone. Nice to meet you. This is “KKUNI.” It’s the Chuseok holiday, so wherever you go, there’s traffic. It’s burdensome to go far, so I came to La Veniche in Gimpo, which is close to Incheon. Let’s take a leisurely walk along this canal and enjoy a cup of coffee on the way. Shall we go together? This is the Golden Waterway, located in the heart of Gimpo Hangang New Town. It’s said to be about 2.7km long, making it the longest man-made canal in Korea. Because it was inspired by the canals of Venice, Italy, walking along it gives off a European vibe. ㅠㅠ Oh, puppy~~😂 This is a cultural and commercial area that recently opened in Gimpo New Town…
Oh~~ this is the one~~ There are so many new shops opening up around here… It’d be great if this place really came alive someday.
Yeah, exactly… Well… this isn’t really what I came to see.
I know… I get what you mean. It’s a good location, but there are a lot of rental ads. It seems like the shops are empty… What a shame. (The canal) is so long… all the way to the end… it keeps going… they say La Veniche Festival will be held on July 18th. Still, the shops in the middle are quite active. I guess this is the end… honey~ I’m turning back from the end now. Let’s walk all the way to the west end over there. Doesn’t it feel like I’m abroad?
That’s right~~ They say it was inspired by Venice, Italy — and you can really feel it. Oh, absolutely~ This canal area is divided into three zones a walking trail, a riverside park, and the commercial district called La Veniche. There are so many shops lined up on both sides, It’s perfect for shopping and stopping by a nice restaurant or cozy café. ❤️ Not all the stores are vacant — most of them are actually open. La Veniche is here, my current location is here, it’s close to Janggi Station!!! There’s even a little village garden here along the Golden Canal. I came here for coffee. ㅋㅋㅋ Because I ate something so delicious… There’s a large cafe called Positive Space 566 about 3km away from here, so I went there for a cup of coffee and arrived just in time for the “Moon Boat” ride. This is the “Moon Boat”… That one is a family boat with a roof that can seat 4-6 people. This one is the “Moon Boat” that can seat 2 people. “Moon Boat” 20,000 won, family boat 25,000 won Make it pretty~~ Yes, I’m going to ride it now. Oh~ It moves a lot. Oh my~~ It’s scary~~ To drive, hold the stick, and go forward, backward, left and right. Forward! Backward! Left! Right! If you turn 90 degrees to the right, the boat will turn 180 degrees to the right. Then, you can go forward. There’s a switch on the back. Please flip it up. Now~ Push it 90 degrees to the right. In the 3 o’clock direction~~ Good~~ Ah~~ It’s amazing. Yes~ We’re on the “Moon Boat” now. They say it can run for about 30 minutes. The family boat must turn back halfway and return to the dock, but the ‘Moon Boat’ can go all the way to the end and make a U-turn because it’s faster. It’s a family boat, but they say it’s a bit inconvenient to drive. Yeah. Today, during the Chuseok holiday, I took a walk around Gimpo Laveniche, close to Incheon. I took a stroll along the canal, and although it was a bit far, I had a cup of coffee and had a relaxing time. It’s amazing how I can feel such a foreign atmosphere without going far from home. Well… if I had to say one small regret, Gimpo City must have invested a lot here, but seeing so many empty shops made me feel truly sad. Still, it’s such a perfect place for a relaxing walk with family, a loved one, or friends. I really hope more people will come back and bring this place to life again.
