Today we are at the Oga Peninsula in Akita Prefecture. It’s raining. The sun is shining, but it’s raining. So today we are touring the Oga Peninsula. Speaking of the Oga Peninsula… you can see it in the background, right ? Namahage… birthplace? birthplace . It’s the birthplace of Namahage. I’m from the Oga Peninsula. When you think of Akita, you think of Namahage, right? So today we are going to fully enjoy the Oga Peninsula, the birthplace of Namahage . It’s raining so hard that my hair was styled in an instant, but it’s raining more than it looks. There are many different spots on the Oga Peninsula, so we want to visit them one by one. Let’s enjoy the day. So let’s go… Oga! Namahage! So let’s start with the first spot. We have arrived at the Namahage Museum. Here you can meet Namahage and learn about them. Let’s go in. There are no crying children, so we bought tickets. There is a joint ticket for this Namahage Museum and the Folklore Museum next door. It costs 1,100 yen per person. At the Folklore Museum, they will be doing a Namahage demonstration, so we will go and see it now. So, Namahage is apparently a deba knife used to peel off meat, and its origins are scary, but it’s still a god, so it’s an important event to ward off bad things from the year and from the home, and to ensure that the next year is safe . They’re three landscapes in the world where you can see breathtaking views. I came to see them because I heard that one of them is located on the Oga Peninsula. Apparently, the Three Views of the World are the Grand Canyon in the United States, the fjords of Norway , and this place on the Oga Peninsula in Akita. I had no idea. Is it really true? Is it comparable to the Grand Canyon? Is there something comparable? It’s amazing. I’m going to see for myself if it’s that beautiful. It’s a sunny day, so the views are beautiful, and I’m sure the views will live up to their potential. How about the views of one of the Three Views of the World? Hiyori: I arrived at Mt. Kanpu, one of the Three Views of the World. I underestimated it… I thought there was no way it could rival the Grand Canyon. It’s amazing! This is Oga Shottsuru Yakisoba. It ‘s a specialty of Oga . Shottsuru is a specialty of Oga. It’s a fish soy sauce made from a fish called Hatahata which is caught in Akita and salt. It only uses Hatahata and salt. Hatahata is said to be a fish of the gods and when written in kanji it is a fish without divine scales . This is yakisoba made with fish soy sauce. This is all a first for me. Can I break it down? Looks delicious… I also love thick sauce yakisoba so I’ll eat it. Delicious. So far I don’t notice any peculiar flavor. If the flavor isn’t strong enough, you can spray it with this shottsuru and eat it. They said that if you spray too much it will have a peculiar flavor but so far I haven’t noticed any peculiar flavor. It was similar to the thick sauce yakisoba you would imagine. Hiyori shared some with me . It ‘s delicious. The umami of the fish is strong and you can feel the richness and flavor. I’ll try the spray. The aroma is stronger! As for the taste… it ‘s really good , the scent is not like regular soy sauce, it’s really good , it’s not an unpleasant smell, it has a really good scent, it’s different from regular soy sauce , it’s quite strong, it seems to have a higher salt concentration than other fish sauces, I love this, Shottsuru Sky Age Set Meal, I have the Shottsuru Fried Chicken Set Meal, it’s packed with so much, the kanji for fried chicken is “sky age”, and it was invented by someone in the Air Self-Defense Force so I think it’s probably sky, probably, in other words , I’m not sure of the origin, but probably, *It was invented by the Air Self-Defense Force, it’s true, it looks delicious, yum , delicious! I love fried chicken, does it go well with rice, etc? Can you taste the Shottsuru?
