【憧れの旅行先No.1】美しすぎるヴェネツィアで感じた“水の都”の魅力|イタリアVlog

So, where are we going today? Today we’re heading to the place I wanted to visit the most in Italy— Venice! I’m so excited! Seriously! Right now we’re in a small city called Padova,
about 30 minutes from Venice. We’ll take a train from here to Venice. Let’s hop on the train and head to Venice! The train is spacious. [We’re finally seeing the Venice I always dreamed of 🥺✨] [And finally—] It’s exactly like the scenery I saw on TV ✨ I used to only see it through a screen, but seeing it in person is truly touching!! All I can say is “Wow~” LOL It’s absolutely beautiful 🤩 Let’s walk around and take it all in ♫ This is amazing / So pretty ✨ Wow~ There’s a gondola! Venice wouldn’t be Venice without gondolas! We’re riding one later, I can’t wait ☺️ Totally! The masks are so beautiful! Masks are totally a Venice thing 😎 For sure. There are so many different kinds of masks. Wasn’t the carnival held around February? Yeah, there’s a masquerade festival around February. Venetian masks have a lot of historical background. I see! So they weren’t just decorative, huh? One of the world’s top 3 carnivals— the “Venice Carnival” began in the 13th century in a strict aristocratic society. Back then, the class divide was so rigid that nobles and commoners couldn’t mingle freely. But during the festival, everyone wore masks and enjoyed the same world, beyond social status. Isn’t it amazing that such an idea existed in the Middle Ages? [First stop: the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice] Feels like a movie set! Really? Feels like a theme park. Right? Do these maze-like streets just go on and on? I know, it’s so fun! Is this it? I have no idea where to go LOL Just when I thought the path ended— there’s a super narrow alley! LOL Is that even a real path? Haha I seriously have no idea 😅 Can we really go through there!? I guess that means we can. Wait, it’s a dead end. Google Maps even knows alleys like this! 😲 It’s got it all mapped out! Oh, we can go left here. It’s super narrow! Whoa, amazing! [A city of water, crisscrossed by big and small canals!] Wow, it’s starting to come into view~✨ Is that the Rialto Bridge inside there? It’s pretty high up! Yeah, it is. This word ‘Rialto’ in
📍Rialto Bridge (Ponte di Rialto) actually means “high riverbank.” Now that I see it like this— I totally get why Venice is called the city of water. Exactly. Boats, water buses, gondolas—everything’s cruising by. There are so many of them! The gondolas and boats look like they’ll almost bump into each other LOL Feels like I’ve stepped into a painting! Totally~ ✨ [On the way from Rialto Bridge to St. Mark’s Square
—souvenirs and foodie spots everywhere 🤩] [Cute wooden Pinocchio figurines too!] [And the traditional Italian dessert cannoli looks super tasty 😋✨] I can see St. Mark’s Square~ It’s such a huge open square! Right? So spacious. 📍St. Mark’s Basilica (Basilica di San Marco) Is that St. Mark’s Basilica? It looks like a palace! It really does! Wow~ It’s beautiful. That’s a style of architecture I’ve never seen before! Totally different vibe from the Duomo in Milan. The mosaics are stunning. I can see Byzantine style too. So fascinating~!! Yosuke, do you know what that is? See that lion over there? That’s Saint Mark! It’s a winged lion. ※Winged lion: Symbol of Saint Mark, Venice’s patron saint It’s their symbol! For real!? Ohh~! St. Mark’s Basilica, sparkling with golden mosaics. It’s a beautiful church located in the heart of Venice. It houses the remains of Venice’s patron saint, Saint Mark. Saint Mark was one of the four Evangelists who spread Jesus’ teachings. His relics are said to be enshrined in this church. His symbol, the winged lion, is still the symbol of Venice today, protecting the city. 📍Piazza San Marco — In front of the basilica is the square
Napoleon called “the most beautiful in the world” 🤩 📍St. Mark’s Campanile (Campanile di San Marco) [We’re heading up the bell tower with a panoramic view of Venice! 😆] Apparently, everything is online payment these days. [Online reservations are required for the tower and basilica 💦]
Ticket: €15 Wowww~ So this is the Venice observation deck 🤩 All the roofs are red! It’s beautiful~ ✨ That building below— is that St. Mark’s Basilica? Yeah, that’s it. You can really feel the weight of history! It’s super old, right? It was probably built about a thousand years ago. That church, I mean. Right here. The sea breeze feels so nice ♪ Yeah! So refreshing! The water’s sparkling 🪷 Yeah, it’s really shimmering! [From the 98-meter-high tower, you can see all of Venice and Piazza San Marco at a glance ✨] [It’s so moving to finally see the view I’ve always dreamed of ⭐️] [Galileo Galilei: From this very spot, he broadened humanity’s vision with his telescope on August 21, 1609 — commemorating its 400th anniversary] [St. Mark’s Square is also home to “FLORIAN,” Europe’s oldest café where you can enjoy live music ✨] [As expected from a historic café—over ¥2,000 per drink 😲] [Finally, lunchtime is here ♪] 📍La Piazza First, I’ve got to try the squid ink pasta! Is this it? Spaghettoni with Squid Ink Yeah, that’s the one! [It’s pretty pricey at €25 💦] So this is the famous… 🍽️ Squid Ink Pasta!! €22 It’s pitch black! And the noodles are super thick~ Wowww 🤩 It’s got a really strong ocean flavor ♫ You really just ate all that in one bite?! LOL / Is it good? The noodles are great~ And I love the salty flavor too! Is my mouth looking bad? LOL Try doing this. Haha That’s kinda embarrassing! 🫣 Actually, it’s not that messy. LOL Really? 😆 It’s seriously delicious!! You ate that so cleanly! LOL It’s tasty so I tasted it perfectly 🤣🤣 Is this the squid? The pieces are huge! Is it chewy? Yeah, that’s what makes it taste even better 😋 Is that a mussel?
🍽️ Seafood pasta €26 The shrimp is massive too! That pasta looks seriously good. It’s super chewy. Mussels— and shrimp all in one bite LOL This is an instant winner! W-I-N! LOL Champion? Haha Total winner! LOL So tasty 😋 [The authentic squid ink pasta in Venice was absolutely amazing ☺️] [And as a bonus, we got €9 off for paying in cash! LOL] [We heard there’s a really unique bookstore, so we decided to check it out 👀] Oh~ it’s adorable!
📍Libreria Acqua Alta Just the way everything’s displayed is like a painting. Right? So cute~ 💓 [Inside, it’s filled with a crazy amount of books!] [There are even books on small boats—just looking at them is fun 😁] Look over there! There’s a cat 🐈 You’re right! Huh? Where’d it go? It was there just a second ago. Ah! There it is!! A cat in a bookstore! 🤭 That’s the tail! I wanna pet it! LOL You’re gonna get scolded! LOL There are books inside the bathtub! Maybe it’s to keep them from getting wet. Yeah, look over there too. There’s a boat on the stone, and it’s filled with books. Oh wow, you’re right! Books are piled up everywhere! They’ve turned it into stairs! [Outside, there are stairs made from water-damaged books—perfect photo spot 📷] Is that it over there? That’s the Bridge of Sighs! This bridge connects the Doge’s Palace to the prison
📍Bridge of Sighs and it has a really sad history. It’s said that prisoners, after their trial, would take one last look outside and sigh—“Hoo~” so it came to be called the Bridge of Sighs. Thinking it could be the last view of their life… that’s so sad. [We were mesmerized by the breathtaking view in front of us 🥺] [Now it’s time to try *that* famous treat of Venice 😋] 📍I Tre Mercanti Tiramisu~♪ It looks so good 🥹 It’s gotta be insanely tasty! I was craving something sweet—this is perfect! They have lots of flavors too. [They offer original, hazelnut, pistachio, and other flavors ✨] 🍽️ Tiramisu €4.9 Wow~ it looks amazing. You know this tiramisu? It actually originated in Veneto, where Venice is. Yeah, that’s right. It was first made at a restaurant in Veneto as a staff meal to cheer them up. To give them energy! That’s some fancy staff food 😆 Here I go! Authentic tiramisu! Ooh~! The spoon just slid right in. It’s like a cloud! So fluffy!! It melts in your mouth! You know what— You don’t even need teeth for this LOL It’s just air! This isn’t even a drink 😂 It’s just pure air. Like a bubble. There’s sponge cake inside, and it’s really delicious 🥹 The coffee flavor is incredible too. So good~~~!! [Authentic tiramisu as soft as a cloud—you have to try it! 😆] [And finally, it’s time for the long-awaited gondola ride ♪] [Gondola boarding stations are located throughout Venice!] [Some places even accept credit cards!
※Around St. Mark’s Square, prices can be negotiated] This way? Here, here! This way. We’re getting on the gondola~! I’m so excited 😁 Whoa, it’s wobbling! It’s totally tilting LOL Scary! I think all the weight is on my side LOL Yosuke, you’re heavier! LOL Feels like we’re gonna crash. Are we okay? There’s a gondola traffic jam LOL Seriously LOL It’s so narrow here— we’re cutting it so close! We’re moving! Looks like we’ll crash! Whoa, this is crazy! The front end is scary LOL Oh~ so close! LOL Barely made it! (Giri Giri!) That was super close! Giri Giri! LOL One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! ← In Japanese 😆 You look cool! Thanks! (Arigato) ← In Japanese 😆 You speak Japanese so well! 😆 Feeling great~ Seeing Venice from the water— It feels totally different! It really does! It’s more wobbly than I expected. But it’s fun! Maybe it’s leaning right because I’m heavier LOL Ah, we’re gonna hit! So close! (Giri Giri) [A peaceful, healing moment with just the sound of the water 🌿] Ooh~ looking cool 😎 Stylish LOL Tiny bridge ahead~ Whoa, we almost hit it! LOL This is seriously fun 😆 How long have you been learning to row gondolas? (Since I was 10 years old.) (I’m the sixth generation in my family.) (Our family’s been doing this for 200 years.) (That building is where Mozart stayed during his trip to Venice.) Feels like we’re gonna hit—but we never do. Actually, I’m Korean. And my husband is Japanese. Hello! (Annyeonghaseyo) Thank you! (Kamsahamnida) (I think Japanese is easier than Korean for me.) [They even tilt the gondola to get under the lowest bridge nearby 😲] That’s some serious skill! He tilted it! Yeah, he just angled the boat perfectly. Smiling big! (Niko Niko) 😊 The breeze feels amazing! It’s so refreshing~! The breeze brushing past feels so good ☺️ It’s so quiet out here~ (Totally different from the noise of Tokyo.) LOL You’re not wrong 😆 Alright, from here on— we’re heading out to the Grand Canal~! That’s the Canal Grande~ Wow~ incredible! ✨ (A beautiful church ahead ✨) 📍Santa Maria della Salute Whoa~ that looks amazing!! This view is just unreal 🤩 I’m seriously moved!! You don’t get this kind of experience every day~ The church next to it is beautiful too! It’s leaning! I sat down here LOL I’ll move to this side 😆 I feel so good right now~ His rowing skills are incredible. Must be tough with these waves. Kinda scary! There’s a massive boat over there. It’s passing by right now. It’s already gone 🥲 That was so much fun!! Maybe we should’ve taken a longer route. It was over in a flash. But it was so peaceful and quiet. Not crowded at all. Such a precious experience. That was fun! I’m glad we did the gondola ride! Totally recommend it! It was worth every cent. This is not something you should skip to save money. It was absolutely worth it~! The best! 👍 [On the way back to the hotel from Venice…] Huh? It’s a dead end!! Uh-oh~ We’re gonna end up in the sea 😂 There’s no path LOL Are they telling us to cross here? 😅 Guess that means take the water bus 💦 Looks like even Google Maps doesn’t know Venice well. Dang~ we got tricked 💦 Let’s turn back. Good thing we didn’t blindly trust Google Maps! Did you search on foot? Was that walking directions? Yeah, it was for walking. Totally messed that up. I bet a bunch of people fall for this too LOL Even that guy earlier turned around 😅 [Venice is way bigger than expected…
rushing to the station full speed! 💦] Haahh~ We made it! Barely caught it in time 💦 All because we trusted Google Maps… Dead end LOL Right into the sea LOL We were seriously almost in trouble. I thought we had plenty of time though. That was a total sprint LOL We took such a roundabout way. We even had to go back to Rialto Bridge. Still, glad we made it for the train. Great job, everyone~! That was so much fun!! 🎥NEXT STORY: Discovering the charm of Venice Whew… we finally caught the train and can relax. Next time, we’ll show you the second half of our Venice trip! We’ll stay in a luxurious noble residence I’ve dreamed of all my life. Then we’ll leave the main island and visit a small island known for traditional Venetian crafts! Please support us with a ‘like’ and ‘subscribe’—we’d really appreciate it ☺️ We hope you’ll look forward to the next episode too 🥰

  5. As a venetian, I really appreciated the kindness you showed during your visit to Venice. Unfortunately, not all tourists are as respectful as you two. Unfortunately…

  6. If you're staying in Padua and you have some time you can take a look there as well. It has some nice points of interest. I suggest the Bo University (800 years old) and Pedrocchi caffe

  8. ありがとう for visit my homeland! I hope you enjoy your visit as I saw in this video!

  9. It wasn’t a dead end. Google Maps was correct. There, you were supposed to take a taxi service by gondola for 2 euros, which would take you to the other side of the bank ☺️
