言葉を失うほど美しいカナディアン・ロッキーの傑作 | バンフ
Leaving behind the serene waters of Waterton
Lakes, we pressed north. The Rocky Mountains guiding our path like towering sentinels. Our stop
for the night was at the Stony Nakota Resort and Casino. A welcome free overnight stay just 36
minutes east of Banff. Tucked along the foothills, it gave us one last quiet pause before heading
into the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Well, this morning we are heading over to Banff.
First time we’ve ever been to Banff. Excited. First time this whole area. Uh yesterday we explored
Waterton Lakes National Park. Yeah, the glaciers. Highly recommend. Yeah, it was beautiful. We had
some places planned on uh RV Trip Wizard, but we got a little further than we thought. Michelle
found on the way here that there was a casino on uh what is this is called uh from Calgary to Banff.
They don’t call them interstates in Canada. It’s uh it’s Alberta Highway 1, better known as
TransCanada Highway. M uh which would be an interstate in the United States if it’s a fourlane
Stony Nakota Resort and Casino. Yeah. When we got here last night, we’ve never seen that many RVs
staying at a casino at one time. What’s very nice about this one, if you do want to overnight, you
just go into the front desk of the resort park, tell them you’re staying the night. They give you
a little piece of paper to put on your dash. Yeah. Um, but they said, um, your first two nights are
free, so you can stay multiple nights and then after that it’s $15 per night, Canadian dollars,
so you can stay multiple nights. Dry camping, no hookups. Hey Siri, what is $15 Canadian dollars
in US dollars? $15 Canadian dollars is $10.90. Pretty cheap for as of multiple night stay. Yeah.
August 2025. We’re just gonna swing by a Harvest Host place that we just want to show you guys
because and plus we want to see it because on the photos in the Harvest Host website and it is
just absolutely gorgeous and so we want to drive by there and show it to you. We were wanting to
stay there but I noticed on the website there was no availability for like 2 or 3 months. It’s
all blocked out. They’re not having that many people stay there. They just had something going
on which is why it’s blocked out. But if you are a Harvest Host member and sometimes you see that
one night is blocked out, call them because nine times out of 10 usually for us when it is blocked
out, um they usually still have room. Um so it’s not always that accurate. So just keep that in
mind. All right, let’s go. Uh you ready to go? Yep. Okay. Give me a weird look. I got something.
No, just wanted you to zip it so we can go. [Music] [music: “Imagine a perfect day… Absolutely flawless in every
way…. That’s the day I’m having right now. I pinch my arm to believe. I wish I could stay
right here and never leave… Wait up, sun down. Wait a while. I don’t want this
day to end… Wait up. Wait a while.” [music ends] Look at that view up there. Pretty gorgeous. Yeah, I’m
pretty sure it was some I don’t know if a golf tournament turn or what that they had going
on here. Did you want to take a walk through to look at this place? You guys want to take
a quick peek at this place and see what it’s like there. Chelle noticed the sign said serving
breakfast. We already ate though. Once again, found a good parking spot where we could hang over
back there. This is such a beautiful area. This uh already is ranking right up there.
Oh, there’s the two cars that passed us. If we can, we’ll try to find
out where it is. They have the Arvin’s Park. I doubt if it’s in this area. [Music] I asked where you park if you have an RV, you know, if you’re harvest host staying
overnight here, and it’s right down here. This right here is exactly why we love using our
Harvest Host membership whenever we can. Without it, we’d probably never discover hidden gems like
this. small businesses that welcome travelers to stay overnight in their RVs. To us, it’s more
than just a place to park. It’s about finding unique spots, supporting locals, and creating
memories we’d never have on a typical stop. [Music] Heat. Heat. Banff, this iconic town cradled in Alberta’s first
national park is framed by the dramatic peaks of Mount Rundle and Mount Cascade. They
dominate the skyline like stone cathedrals, drawing your eyes upward no matter where
you stand. So this main drag here is where the visitors center is for Banff. And as you know, we
always like to visit the visitors center first and uh try to get some pointers of uh especially
when we if we’re limited on time or something, get pointers on the best uh places to see what
is a turn left, then take the next left into the park, stuff like that. So boy, this place is just
absolutely beautiful, isn’t it? Very. Oh gosh, it’s already quickly reaching the top of our
Yes. favorite places, including all national parks. I went ahead and had Michelle go in
just in case we can’t find a spot. I found a spot. It’s another van here. Here’s where I
parked. We’re just one block from the main drag. So, there’s visitor information
here also. That’s kind of nice. But the visitor center is up here. [Music] two different maps we got from the information.
I think mine was more for the uh Banff area alone, but it does um give us two spots to go up to two
peaks to get a really good view. Down on Banff Avenue, life bustles in a way that feels almost European.
There’s a few campgrounds that are first come, first serve because all the others that
take reservations are all filled up. So, we’re hoping that we can come back
down here during the week after we’re done working and and just uh kind of enjoy
the area. It’s what our plan and hope is. Well, good news. I went ahead and called the
campground and they had a spot that was available and it is a first come first serve, but I asked
him if he’d do us a favor and go ahead and put a sign on it, reserve it for us uh so we wouldn’t
have to drive over there and drive back. Save us some time and he did. Very nice of him. I think
first we’ll follow what this uh girl uh told us from here. And there’s two uh summits. I think she
said they were the summit. One has a gondola ride. One’s a 20 15 to 20 minute drive from here and
the other one’s a five minute drive from here. She said it the map is not to scale. So when they
give you the map, the first one’s here. That’s the 15 to 20 minute drive. She said this road can be
very congested. May take a little longer. This is only a 5m minute drive, which it looks like it’s
longer than that. And that’s when she said it’s not to scale, but she said it’s not as congested,
but it’s a really beautiful view. So, those are the two uh some of the two main uh viewpoints
here close to Bamp. And uh and then there’s like some museums in town. You can go see what’s this?
This is Cave and Basin National Historic Site here as well. And then Michelle got a map and this was
basically talking about I believe all the uh from what you showed me is like the lakes and stuff. I
got one that was basically for the town and then the other one was the whole national park. I just
don’t know if when she said you know the one that has the gondola that’s probably full like you
can’t park there. You know can’t make a basket if you don’t shoot the ball. Her glasses always
half empty. I’m just going by what she said. Onward we go. We talked to two different people.
That’s the problem. Yeah. And we weren’t together. I’m not sure that’s the problem. I was inside
the visitor center. He was outside at the little visitor center. How about that? Here, chateau
style hotels stand shouldertosh shoulder with cozy cafes, local boutiques, and souvenir shops. The
town hums with travelers from around the world, each seeking their own piece of the Rockies.
Little goats. Yeah, they’re right here. He’s sitting right here. But step just beyond the
main street and you’re reminded that this isn’t simply a resort town. It’s the gateway to
6,500 square kilometers of protected wilderness. Were those not adorable? It’s Billy’s cousins. I like the mimic. You nailed it. This is a land where elk graze at dawn,
where grizzly bears roam the valleys, and where turquoise legs born from ancient glaciers
reflect peaks that have stood for millennia. [Music] having our pepperoni sticks and
have a little snack for lunch. We got these at that Silver Tip uh resort
that we were at earlier. That with our Zevia. This one. We like all these Zevia Colas. This
one’s kind of like Sprite. What’s it called? Lemon Lime Twist. Lemon Lime Twist. No,
we’re not affiliated with any of these people. But if if Zevia wants to go ahead and pay
us something. Yeah. That would be great. Yeah Quest you? How about you? Banff is more than a destination. It’s a collision of
untamed wilderness and refined charm. It’s a place where raw nature meets human comfort,
offering both adventure and reprieve. And for us, it’s the next chapter of our journey
deeper into the soul of the Canadian Rockies. [Music] The big one right there is Cascade
Mountain. Shorter one, Tunnel Mountain. I’m not sure how you pronounce that.
Palister Range and then Mount Rundle. [Music] Oh my. The Banff gondola. We got our tickets. 200
Canadian dollars. It’s basically like a second. Math is hard. 145 a piece. I
mean together. We’ll put it down below. [Music] Like a bird on a tree. I’m just sitting here. I
got time. It’s clear to see from up here. The world seems small. We can sit together.
[Music] It’s so beautiful. You and me, we meant to be in the great outdoors [Music] forever free.
As the gondola begins its steady climb, the majesty of Banff unfolds in every direction.
The cabins glide, carrying you higher and higher until the peaks of the Canadian Rockies
rise like ancient guardians around you. Sometimes you need to go and take a step back to see the truth around
you. [Music] From a distance you can tell [Music] [music: “you and me… We’re meant to be… in the great outdoors… forever free… [end music] Beautiful view. Got to do this. What was that? We We don’t have to Not everybody has to go here
right now. You can go to restaurant whatever. From the summit, the view is nothing
short of breathtaking. The turquoise ribbon of the Bow River winds
its way through the valley, and Banff town itself looks like a tiny
alpine village cradled by giants. [Music] Mount Rundle and Cascade stand proud on
the horizon. Their jagged silhouettes etched against the endless sky. Here [Music] at more than 7,000 ft above
sea level, the air is thinner, crisper, and every glance feels
like staring into a living postcard. This journey into the heart of
the Rockies is where nature’s artistry is revealed in its purest form. [Music] going to make it. Wow. The last little bit [Music] Oh, quite the line to go back. [Music] Oh, you need hand sanitizer.
Water. Hand sanitizer first. Water. We ended our day back into the town of Banff. Walking around enjoying the main thoroughfare for shops, restaurants, and galleries. Espresso, chocolate
chip, and Canadian maple walnut. Yeah. Then it was time to settle in at the Waipati
Campground in Canmore for the rest of the week. Days were filled with work and our evenings
became a ritual. Slipping back into Banff to stroll its streets and enjoy the mountain
glow as the sun dipped behind the peaks. Oh, you finally found a moose. We’re down at the Banff um sanitary. It’s an RV dump station area and they just charge $10 for you to dump here. And
the address is 138 Hawk Avenue in Banff. And it’s 10 Canadian dollars and you can use your credit
card. It looks like it might even take Apple Pay. But when Saturday morning arrived, it was time
for our last stop within Banff National Park. Well, we have really enjoyed our time here
this week, even though we had to work some, but the Banff and Canmore, where the campground
was, uh, area is absolutely beautiful. Obviously, this is top top, like maybe number one so far on
our must-see list. Uh today we’re heading a little further north to the Marine Lake area. So I’m sure
the views are still going to get better. Yeah. Oh, and we’re going to be going along the uh
what is it? The ice glacier parkway or something like that. The ice field. Icefield
Parkway. And hopefully we’re going to see some ice glaciers. So far the weather uh
is going to be cool and probably rainy. [Music] Here we are. [Music] [Music] We don’t wear the winter coats very often. Got here a little bit early. So, we’re going
to go in and check out the lodge. [Music] I can’t believe you’re in shorts. Decided to sit down and have a little bite to eat real quick. I just got some
sausage links over there. And Michelle, what in the heck did you do to that?
You destroyed it. That’s It was a lemon cranberry muffin. She doon’t
mess around. I was hungry. [Music] [Music] We should probably get over there. It is 5 after
8. Supposed to be 15 minutes before and it starts at 10 minutes. Oh, wrong again. And our uh time
is 8:20 that we’re supposed to board. My people! crazy. You’re crazy people who wear shorts. I
do. And my people. Look, there’s another one. To see this, you can’t just drive up anymore.
Instead, you board a shuttle that winds through the forest up to 6,200 ft above sea level
until suddenly there it is, Moraine Lake. Oh, look at the up there on the top.
Yeah, that’s where we’re going. Well, the rain stinks, but this is pretty cool, though. We’re going to go up to the top of that
rock pile. That’s a Good viewing point to get some good shots. What do we got here?
I wonder who put that there. Hmmm my people. [Music] Wow. Wow. Nestled in the Valley of the 10 Peaks is Moraine
Lake, a glacier fed lake that is one of those places that words can never quite capture. Its
striking blue green color comes from rock flour, fine particles of glacial sediment that
refract sunlight in a way that makes the water glow, an otherworldly turquoise. And
the backdrop as iconic as the lake itself. Jagged peaks rising sharply around
it. Each one soaring over 10,000 ft. Look how turquoise that
water is. I know. [Music] This natural amphitheater is
what gives the valley its name, and it creates one of the most photographed
scenes in all of Canada. In fact, Marine Lake was once featured on the back of the Canadian
$20 bill, earning it the nickname “the $20 view”. [Music] Today, access is carefully managed.
Personal vehicles are no longer allowed. A change made to protect the fragile environment
and ease congestion. But that only adds to the feeling that you’ve stepped into a place
set apart from the rest of the world. Standing on the rock pile, a natural marine of
boulders that offers a panoramic vantage point, you can’t help but feel small
in the best possible way. [Music] I think that’s our bus up there. Looks like
the wheels are going round and round. We go down here. That is all my 9:50s and one early.
So, on up we go. We’re going to continue our journey up to Jasper. Going to go uh drive the
ice fields. We definitely recommend doing this to see that. This is gorgeous. Always worth it.
It’s beautiful. And you can only get up there um on some type of shuttle or tour bus.
They do not allow personal vehicles to just drive up there. And it it’s
worth it even if it’s raining. For many, Moraine Lake is the highlight
of Banff National Park. And for us, it’s the perfect way to close this chapter
of our journey. [outro music: “Call it a day and celebrate… Call it a day. Let’s celebrate…. Don’t forget to subscribe to our

Banff is beautiful. We spent our honeymoon there 46 years ago. How do you find the free places to stay at like the casino?
Nice video❤
That was beautiful. Thank you both for letting us tag along.
Thanks for the ride, it was beautiful 🙂
Saturday!!! Good to see you both . At least I don’t have to work like I did when my husband Scott was alive , so there is good .
Wow that was a beautiful place! Enjoy your Canadian trip. Safe travels 🤓😎🥸
Got any sqeeters up there in Canada ?
Have friends that have visited the area…said it was beautiful. But for you to name it #1, WoW. It is stunning. Glad I saw it through your eyes. What is your top 2 in the USA? Thanks for a gorgeous ride
Absolutely beautiful! I noticed it seems like Canada has very lush forests , without the massive number of pine beetle killed trees we have in the US.
Safe travels and thank you for your great videos!
Beautiful photo's! I've been to Banff twice.
Wow! There are no perfect words to describe that beauty except "thank you God". Your music was synced so perfectly to the different views. Beautiful!
Seems like you missed a meal in Canmore at the Goat Grill pub up in the mountain off the hwy. Offer a beautiful view on the patio of the 3 sisters peaks.
What a gorgeous place! I love Glacier so now I have got to go to Banff! ❤❤
Every video I've watched offered up on YouTube of tourists to Banff from the🇺🇲 border miss the best drive. Set GPS to Longview via hwy 3 and 22. Then drive through Kananaskis(hwy 40) on to the casino you stayed overnight on the trans Canada. This drive is not well known except to Albertans. It's a beauty
That Moraine Lake is really something. Makes me wonder how it looks with the sun shining.
Btw your editing skills are really good. Makes for an enjoyable viewing experience 👍
Wow! That was just beautiful and I'm sure watching it on Youtube even in 4K does not do it justice. Thanks for sharing your journeys with us.
I live in upstate NY and see people in shorts all winter long even when it is 10 F out (never mind wind chill). I don't know how they don't get frost bit but I am sure they are not outside for long periods of time.
Just WOW. We will be making our way to Banf next summer for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning! Did you guys visit Lake Louise too?
I have visited Banff about six or seven times and it's the most beautiful place you can ever visit. Two things to remember is . If you want to get a reservation at one of the campgrounds in the park .You must be online the minute they open up the reservation system in January . It's a very popular place to go and sell out fast. And the other tip is parking in the town of Banff . If you can't find a place to park. You can go to the train station and park there, It's free and room enough for large pickups and small motorhomes .About a six block walk.
'Our entire Continent' is so Gorgeous! I would really hope Canadians and Americans could 'get along' just on that fact. And leave all the other 'stuff' just to the politicians.
Absolutely Breathtakingly Fabulous! 😂 tears of joy. 😊
Just beautiful!
Just an fyi – Interstates are called "interstate" because they are a network of highways that interconnect the different states of the United States.
What absolutely breathing place to see ! The gondola ride , the mountain vistas oh my ! Just wish I still was young enough to do things like this , but I sincerely thank you for going and filming natures beauty!!!
We laughed at the "look" you gave. We feel like that everyday living in California.
We were there in mid August. We stayed three nights in the Tunnel Mountain Campground in the National Park and ate lunch at the Grizzly House on Banff Avenue. We shared a cheese fondue appetizer. My wife had a chicken fondue and I had a seafood fondue. Delicious! We parked our Strada Ion in the freezer RV parking lot. On the fourth night we stayed at the Lake Louise Hard Sided Campground. We got up at 2:30 am to be in the Lake Louise parking lot when they opened at 3:00 am. This lot reportedly is full by 7:00 am, so we didn’t take a chance. We thought no one else would be there, but were surprised to see three other class b vans there at the same time. You have to pay about $36 CDN for parking at a credit card only machine on the upper level. We started the Timberline heat and I went to sleep. My wife got up at 5:00 am to watch the sunrise over Lake Louise. I slept until 7:00 am and walked down to the lake. Beautiful! We agree with you; Banff National Park is a must see!
At the casino, you should have gone to highway 40 to Kananaskis lakes , Highwood pass and Kananaskis Village. Lots of camping there too.
