Most Exciting & Scenic Riding Spot from Cotabato to CDO
Please excuse the watermarks on this camera because we can’t do anything about it as we approach it, it’s really strong. You thought there was a typhoon. I don’t know if I can still hear the camera but look at the falls. There’s no typhoon right now, but the one right behind us is making a strong, stormy sound. Our exploration here in Mindanao isn’t over yet because in this episode we’ll try to take the breathtaking route that only a few people know. This is the first time I’ve seen a gasoline station without even a single guard because the gasoline station here is automated . At first I thought it was just a normal gasoline station. This is my first time seeing a machine like this without a guard because even pesos are okay. Press the push button. Welcome to the fuel vending machine. We’ll only use the PH5. The bad boy. Even the PHP5 we used was just PHP5. [Music] You can probably see what the Falls we’re in look like. And we found out that this very location we are in is now the boundary of Cagayan de Oro City. And right across the falls is now part of the talakag bukid. They say that before there was no water source in our very location, many people would draw water from that very leaf, like many ants, but those were people who were drawing water. They said it was okay because this is the source of water for their drinking water right here in our very location. That’s why it was called Kapit lang kayo sa exciting road trip adventure because from Alamada North Cotabato we will be riding a motorcycle to Cagayan de Oro. Good morning, guys and welcome back to our new motorcycle adventure. In the previous episode, I showed you the journey we made from the Pikong Tunnel in Lanao del Sur. We took the round ball there in Matanog, Maguindanao del Norte. We passed through the roads, the scenery. Until we reached Cotabato City, we visited mosques like their grand mosque in Cotabato City. The pink mosque down in Datuo Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao del Sur. Then we went on a road trip until we reached North Cotabato. By the way, we stayed here at Jillian and Jackie Travelers Inn in the municipality of Banilan, North Cotabato. So we decided to rest here. For Php1,500 a night, if you get air conditioning, you can rest well. There is a good CR, wifi, and private parking for motorcycles and even four wheels. And in case you need to buy drinks and food, there is a 7-Eleven nearby . About 200 m from where we stayed. And from here to Jillian and Jackie Travelers Inn, our episode today is very simple because we will be on a road trip but our route is from here in Banilan, we will go around Alamada, North Cotabato and then come back here. So this episode will be a loop because when I passed by it the other day, I told myself that I couldn’t miss this beautiful route because I wanted to share it with you. And so we can start our fun journey on the Banilan Alamada Loop, what are we waiting for? Let’s go, guys. [Music] Oh, that’s what I was telling you at your 7-Eleven and there are restaurants along the way. So since we’re going around, we’re on the other side and we asked around to see if there’s a way. And if I’m not mistaken, we’re going to go around for about 85 km. Later, you’ll know why I deliberately went around here. because when I passed by this yesterday, on the spot I decided that I had to show you what I passed by yesterday, so I decided to stay here near Banilan and go around again for the second time so that you can see what I saw [Music] so that you can have an idea and if you want to know what our route is from here near Banisilan, we took the other side and this is Libungan Alamada Banisilan Wao Road What we’re going through now, look at the road, oh well, it’s mountainous , we’re not even getting hot in the place where we’re going to ride, we’re out of the mountains, the vanilla area is beautiful, to be fair, there’s a 7-Eleven if you need something to eat or drink, you can buy it properly. And from here, we’re going to ride 85 km around. We’re just going to do a road trip, guys, so let’s go. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Suddenly, we went offroad. What’s that? I was surprised, there was a little bit of offroad, but it wasn’t muddy. It was hard as hell with gravel on it, what we were going through. It’s like loose gravel, guys. Hey, downhill, oh. Ah okay. There’s cement down there at the bottom. Wow. The offroad was only a few meters. Then it was okay. It’s cement again. I thought it was offroad. But it was just a little offroad. We’ve probably already gone about 25 km or 30 km from there to Ban Zean. The road is okay. It’s almost the same as the ones we pass through in different places in the Philippines. The road, the mountains, even the views. I don’t stop too much because I want our trip to be continuous and we’re taking advantage of the good weather. It’s really the same because if you look closely, it’s the same. What’s there here is the same as what’s there in your province, wherever you’re watching the Philippines right now. What ‘s there here is the same as the place you’re in. [Music] It looks like we’re going off-roading, guys. There’s a river crossing, it looks like we’re crossing a small river. Let’s go through this. Hey, what’s wrong, the water is so strong. This is terrible. That’s what the car gave us. It’s terrible. Wait, I was wondering what happens when the rain is heavy. Look at what we’re going through. There you go. [Music] Salam alayikum. Waalaikumalam. I’ll just ask, what is this? Bridge river? Bridge. Bridge. How come when the rain is high, no one can pass through here? No? There’s nothing that goes through Palao. The other road. What barangay is this? Nika. Nikaan. Nikaan? Yes. Upper wao. Yes. Ah so how high is the water here? Just ah. It’s really high so I noticed right away that when the rain is heavy, no one can pass through . No vehicles can pass through there, passing through Palao. Ah in Palao. But here it’s not there. It’s gone. Ah okay. We passed through something here, I don’t know if it’s a river that just has a kind of path. Then when the river’s current is strong here or the water is high, the locals can’t pass through here. That’s the state. It’s just white and it doesn’t rain much here like that anymore. [Music] It looks like we’ve made a detour. This is where we’re going. Okay. This is where we’re going. Ah, this is the main highway. There, let’s turn right, we came from yesterday. This is the welcome arc. Look. Let’s go to the entrance . Welcome to the municipality of Alamada. There, we’ve made a detour. [Music] That’s it, we’ve made a detour. It’s less than an hour. And this is also what we went through yesterday. That’s all we’re going to do from here, we’ll head back to Banny Seilan. I need to show you these plants. Look at the road and the mountains. [Music] It looks like we’re approaching. After about 30 minutes, we’ve reached the main town or municipality of Alamada, North Cotabato. [Music] This is so you can get an idea. There, there’s Mr. DIY or someone in here too. There are travelers in. This is what their roads look like here. We’ll just pass through this and then we’ll go straight for another 26 km. This is Emle Willer. There are kolong-kolongs or what looks like pedicabs. But we’ll just go straight a little bit, maybe about 24 km ahead down there. This is where it says oh. I love Alamada. [Music] We have entered an alley or road. Its name is Alamada Dado Road. That’s what it says on Google Maps. Let’s turn left from the main highway and go 20 km. The road is still paved but we don’t know what we’re going to face. [Music] Oh, the road has already been cut off. We’re suddenly offroading, guys. So let’s change this. Just wait. The road has been cut off and this is where the mud and offroading begin. This is offroad. Oh, it looks like the big rocks are stacked. So we’ll know if this is what we’re going to pass. I hope this is a highway. Ah okay. Oh, look at this. It’s okay. The rocks are just big and look like they’re stacked. It’s okay because there’s a little mud here. But since we’re on a motorbike, we’ll make it harder for ourselves by taking a shortcut. We’ll get there easily. There it is. Up there. There it is. There’s cement. Just here in this part. It’s okay. No problem. This is something that Malayan can handle. It’s basic. We’ll just have to climb up, we’ll have to make it difficult for ourselves. There’s cement. There’s oh. I think we’ll be going all the way offroad. There’s only maybe 500 meters but it’s cement like that. We’re gradually climbing up and up. It’s rough. Look at this. I can’t see you on camera but we’re climbing up and up. Rough. Oh. Zigzag road. Wait. Sharp curve to the right. Woo! It’s wild. This, there’s more here. We’ll just have to climb up because look at the steepness oh. Oh, we’re curving. The height. In 400 m we’ll climb to the right. But right now, we’re still climbing up and up. We have no idea where it is located and what our destination looks like. Some people just told me to visit it. There’s an intersection here. There’s a left, there’s a right. But here we are. We’re going right. Wow! Look at the mountains here. It’s rough. There are so many banana trees here. We are actually in the mountains and it’s less than 1.4 km based on Google Maps. I have no idea if the information Google Maps gives us is true and correct. We are just using it as a guide because sometimes and often Google Maps misleads us but there are signs with sharp curves here. Where are we going? Oh look, there are banana trees. Or there are banana trees and then there are pine trees and the climate is cold. There are only pine trees. That ‘s okay. That’s why our place is cold because pine trees cannot survive in hot places. But here we are passing only pine trees. There are gates. Let’s look at this. In case a sick a sick falls is temporary closure. The provincial government of Cotabato will temporarily close as a sick falls to the public until further notice. We are a little disappointed because the asik-asik is closed. But we asked around and found out that the Asik Asik Falls is 15 minutes away. Is it called a bit? This is one of the things we didn’t expect. But since the locals said it’s close, let’s try the drone airport. Maybe we can reach it so that at least our trip won’t be a waste. We respect the fact that it’s posted close but since we’re already here, maybe the drone can reach the Asik-Asik Falls. [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s why the Asik-Asik is closed. October 24, 2000. Or if I’m not mistaken, sir. It’s been 3 years this October, sir. The Asik-Asik pose is closed. Because of what looked like a land slide there, maybe a rock fell and the one carrying the soil. That’s what I know. Then until now it hasn’t been opened. Dad, if you remember 3 years ago, how much was the entrance fee to the Asik-Asik? Php30 per head. Yes. The tour guide is not the same, the tour guide has one, there is 150, there is 200, depending on the tourist who goes. It is not there where I parked earlier. How many minutes before getting off at the busy points ? It depends on your pace. It is about 15 minutes or something like that, it is not the same, sir. But if it is really straight, sir, the You just walked for about 15 minutes sir. Since the Asik-Asik closed 3 years ago, what has been the impact on you people here? It has affected all of us here, sir, it has really been difficult. Until now, some have no livelihood. Some have disappeared and walked away. They have looked for jobs, others have died and are waiting because they seem to be depressed by this incident that has closed because their livelihood is only here. This is to provide a livelihood for their children who are still in school. What is your wish for the Asik-Asiks? If it were for me, sir, maybe not for me at least, all of us here would really like it to open as soon as possible, sir, because there are many people suffering here. They need a source of livelihood. Secondly, the tourists who come here, they come from far away and also have a lot of expenses because it is also far away. This is really all they want to go to. They are really excited about their destination, sir. Some people come from Manila, they even have to drive a car, they even have to pay a taxi for just 7,000 from Davao. When they get here, when they get here, they don’t have anyone close to them, their movements seem to be depressed, their hearts seem to be not happy anymore because it’s far away, and when they get here, nothing is really closed. Our wish is not even for me . We really want it to be opened to help with our needs. Because Asik-asik Falls is closed. What are the alternative routes that can be taken? There are many places they could go to, sir, but this is what they really want, Asik-asik, sir. Some have gone to Daday but others return because they say it’s high. It’s steep. [Music] [Music] That’s how life is. We don’t expect such opportunities. We also have no idea that Asik-asik Falls is closed here in Alamada, North Cotabato. You heard that the falls have been closed for almost three years and it’s almost depressing because the locals who were expecting them to provide them with a livelihood and jobs have been denied them. I just don’t know why it’s taking so long to renovate but I hope the time will come when it’s fixed. Even though we didn’t get to the bottom, at least our drone reached there and we found out the real state. And because the Asik-Asik Falls is closed and they said there are nearby falls that we can go to, that’s our next destination. Even though we didn’t make it to Asik-Asik Falls, the locals are saying something. [Music] We’re wandering around. We’re climbing up and up. Is that where we’re going? Or is this really it? Now I’m confused about how far we are but it’s right ahead. Look at the mountain behind us. It looks like this is the parking area. This way. Let’s park here, guys . Now since there is no proper guide to our next destination, which the locals say is at Asik-asik Falls, we will look for someone who can join us. So the jump off is here. There is a sign. Let’s ask around. [Music] When we arrive at the sitio membalawag itself, please correct me if I’m right. We left our motorcycle and paid Php20 for parking and Php100 for fourwheelers. There is a sign here. Maybe we will walk. They say there is someone ahead that we can ask. And since we didn’t make it to Asik-asik, the locals said let’s go check it out. [Music] [Music] We will try our best because there is no one available at the place where we parked to join us. But they say there is someone ahead who can join us. We’re still a bit far away and we’re surrounded by those banana trees. There are so many. [Music] After we pay Php200 at the little house itself and Php300 as a tour guide, we’ll walk. Now we’ll know what the state of our journey will be like. [Music] We’re only in the first part, almost This is going down. There’s cement and steel. But let’s try this one down. Look at what we’re going through. It’s steep. [Music] [Music] We have cement roads to go through. But because it’s rare to go or visit this next place we’re going to, there’s moss. It’s cement. But I think when we get back, it’s done. This is steep. Boy. You’d think it was raining because there were splashes of water but it wasn’t rain because that was the miss or the splash of water from the waterfall which means the current was too strong. There you go. That’s why you thought it was like a fag. [Music] Now because it’s so steep and fortunately there are steel stairs so those going up and those going down can pass each other. You know it’s raining but we’re not going down there yet. There you go. It’s still going down there. [Music] [Music] It’s only going down here, it’s so steep, steep. Just think about it when we’re done and going back. There you go. We’re going up there because it’s been raining a bit the past few days. What we’re going through is slippery. [Music] There’s cement but the moss is thick. We’re here because if we go straight here, it’s really overgrown. This is so we can see the trees and the forest. We’re not approaching. When you get here, there’s a small hut where you can rest. But we’re going straight. These are the ones or the ones [Music] so you can have a clear idea of what’s up there. We can approach the falls. Please excuse the splashing of the lens. But down below there’s a storm and we have some tourists here. Ladies and gentlemen, where are you from? Kinawan. How are the falls? [Applause] [Music] Take a closer look. There’s an over view deck here where we can approach. You thought the force of the water was blowing. You thought there was a storm but we’re getting closer ‘ please be patient if there are water marks on this camera our audio because we can’t do anything as we get closer it’s really strong you thought there was a storm let’s go here wow My glasses are getting water. Wait a minute maybe there are water marks. Let’s go check this out. Woo! I don’t know if I can still hear you on the camera but we’re going to take a look. [Music] Look at the ball. What’s one word to describe this pulse? Underrated. Must try worth it a beautiful creation breath Was? [Music] Our mic can’t handle it anymore because you thought there was a storm so we’re just going to use it please be patient the audio sounds like there’s a storm on the other side it’s serious boy come on we’re getting wet I’m serious. Wo! I didn’t expect there to be pools like this. Ouch. The wind is strong. I don’t have a storm right now. But this very pool behind us But this one behind us is what gives the hair a strong windy look. [Music] [Music] The Philippines is beautiful. Welay [Music] We are starting to climb the mountain and there are already many curves like this. It is paved. Look at this curve. This is right here ahead. I can’t even see it on camera. It’s steep. To the left. There you go. Sharp left turn. It’s really rough. [Music] I don’t know if it’s just me who notices it but this is a great riding spot. To give you an idea, it’s a weekday, these roads should have a lot of people riding here. There you go. These are the ones we motorcyclists love . Let’s not talk about the ones that speed up, but for those of you who just want to go on a road trip, enjoy the roads and the mountains and the fresh air, this is the best spot here in North Cotabato. Oh. [Music] Our route is beautiful. We don’t regret coming back here because we passed it yesterday. There. Believe me, the air here is not cold. I don’t know if this is the coldest place here in North Cotabato but I can feel the cold. We are still wearing jackets at the start. We are still wearing riding jackets but the breeze is cold. Ah, let’s just maintain this kind of running. It’s delicious like this. I missed this kind of episode. Just the road trip. [Music] There are so many places you can visit here. Here’s one. What is this? There’s one on our right. Then there’s one here. Well, floor farm. Let’s try it here. We haven’t had lunch yet. Oh, we haven’t had breakfast yet. Sorry. Breakfast. Let’s see this. Can we have it here? Wow! Hello. Let’s see if they have coffee. [Applause] [Music] Hello sir. Good morning. Welcome here to Venflor Farm here in Rangayen Alamada North Cotabato. I immediately noticed it here in your place. Why does it seem cold? Ah, it’s really cold here in Rangayen sir. Sometimes they even go crazy . Ah, this is our farm. Actually, it’s right across from Naragan Setet. This is what Benflor Farm is. Ah, the one opposite is our deck. There’s a burger house, a coffee shop, a small coffee shop, and you can pitch a tent there overnight for 100 per head. [Music] That’s Naraganset Hill, that’s ours too. Open to the public, you can pitch a tent there for Php25 per head. The entrance fee is Php100, but overnight is Php100. Ah, they usually have picnics, family bonding, usually family bonding, and then they always have pre-naps because they like the view there. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Since this is private, what will the response be for those who pass by? How? How? They’re wowed. Wow! It’s beautiful. The place is beautiful. A lot of people have been around here for a while. They looked there. It’s beautiful. He said, “Can we take pictures?” Yes, of course. I also said. Here’s the new farm, what are your plans? Do you plan to open it to the public in the future? Yes. [Music] Hey, look. There are bus trips here. Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro. After we pass the farm and the hill that I showed you, the farm is actually still private but sooner or later they will open to the public. Let’s wait for that even though I’m excited because the place is beautiful, the road is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful and the place is cool. I wouldn’t be surprised if this route of ours becomes one of the famous riding spots. This Alamada Banilan Road or highway where we are located. There, there are already some pine trees here, look, there are more here. There are so many vehicles. See, there are so many people stopping here to have coffee. And from here, right where we are, we will be motorcycling for about 60 km. We don’t have any signal on our way there. We don’t have a destination to go to now. Oh, that’s great. But we’re just going on a road trip like I told you. And this, this is still it. This is what we’re going through, guys. We’re still on top of the mountain. [Music] I miss making videos like this so much. When we’re just going on a road trip. We’re enjoying this free road, the bubbles. Those are the clouds. We’re really on top of the mountain. Let’s take a break from documentaries on sea crossings. I miss this, guys. These kinds of road trips. The place we’re in is beautiful. It’s like it’s playing in my mind. Hey, look. Boom! Wow! Do you see that? Wait! There’s a viewing deck here. Someone stopped. Let’s see. Let’s see. There’s someone stopped. Can we do this? No. We don’t know. Let’s try. After all, we’re offroad here . That’s why we’re doing this. There you go. Offroad gaming. Go kapo naman steep actually it’s not rated anymore. Ah that looks like there’s a viewing deck here. It’s not steep because of loose gravel but it’s doable. Look Let’s go here, kapos. I saw someone taking pictures. Here we go. Let’s go here. There. Let’s climb. This is it. Boom! Well, look at that. [Music] You thought it was an unexpected opportunity on the part of the route we were taking that came from Alamada and we were going down to Banisilan, there was an overlook with a rock and you can see almost the entire environment here, kapos, look at the people around us. I was amazed by the route we took back. We didn’t regret it and it was really worth it to come back because from the bottom, right at the welcome arc of Alamada, that’s where we were going, kapos. You can probably see the mountains. I was showing you earlier how beautiful this route is. Apart from the beautiful roads, it’s all green and mountains. The place we are in here in Alamada, North Cotabato is very cold. This includes SK Serge if I’m not mistaken, please correct me if I’m wrong. But as far as I know, we’re already in North Cotabato. We just arrived here. Of course, we just played around with our minds to bring our motorbike up. Our motorbike is here. There’s a sign here. Then we’ll go down there. We’ll go down there. I really think that we’ll see these kinds of views right where we are. This wasn’t in the plan. We just passed this overlooking. But you can see the beauty of the lake. [Music] I wouldn’t be surprised if one day this place where we’re located becomes a famous riding spot like TCH, DSB down there in Don Salvador Benedicto in Negros here on the Buddha Highway and this place where we’re located connects to Cagayan de Oro and Cotabato City. So, we’re actually passing by buses and everything is already paved. I wonder why there are so few people riding. It’s only been a week and I can see that it’s really fun to ride here. Especially on weekends, Saturdays, Sundays, those who just want to get away from the noise and stress of work, want to have a joy ride. Oh, our route is beautiful, promise. And it’s still cold from here, we’ll go down to the mountains you can see. Awesome. Let’s go there. [Music] You see that. There’s a viewing deck here. We can see better from here. We’ll go down a little. That’s it. We’ll just go down here. There, just offroad a little. Let’s just wait here. So what’s this view deck? Even I, who are watching, can comment on what the view deck is, ” view deck” as he calls it. Ah goo man. Well, it’s only 20, we know there’s a fee, okay, thank you, so we’ll have to pay something, but when you get here, your Php20 is worth it. This is the perfect place for me. Hanging out overlooking. It’s beautiful. But since we have to continue our journey, let’s go down. [Music] We came from here earlier. It’s already downhill. So from here we’re only 15 km away from Banisilan. We saw a kilometer marker but it’s downhill. It ‘s very stiff so we’ll just use the engine brake. First. There. It’s steep. I didn’t see you on the camera but it’s so beautiful. Wait, why is the car like that? What happened there? It’s on one side. But it’s steep. We can’t go fast . It’s steep. Look at that steep slope. There’s a U-turn sign. U-turn. The road and the bend are very stiff. There. It’s steep. Okay. here. It’s cold. I’ve been saying this for a while. Even though I’ve been saying it over and over, please be patient so you can at least know. You won’t feel it, you’ll know it’s cold here even though the sun is shining. Or will we go down? This is the opportunity in our trip that we enjoy more because it’s a road trip. Oh, it’s nice. And we don’t have to rush and pay an entrance fee. It doesn’t matter, just two combinations. Roads and views. Solve, solve Grandpa is like this. Throttle therapy is what’s happening to us. This is why we ride, grandkids, to relieve stress and to promote places like this. [Music] How many can I say goodbye till I get you to? [Music] [Applause] [Music] We were a little entertained on our road trip and we didn’t realize that we needed to gas up. But we have a good thing there’s a gas station up on the mountain. Let’s look at this. Let’s try to gas up a little. Why are we here? Let’s try. Is it open? It seems like there’s no one there. Oh wait. What is this? Vending fuel machine. What is this? Look at the gas station here. There’s no one there. It looks like a peso fuel machine. There it is. Fuel bending machine. [Music] I just saw a gasoline station without even a single guard because the gasoline station here is where you put money in. It’s an automated fuel vending machine where we’re located. There it is. Is there a guide here or instructions on how to do it. At first I thought this was just a normal gasoline station but there was no one because it was fully automated. We’re going to drop money. Let’s try it. There’s nothing written. Let’s read it. Put the nozzle in the tank. So let’s get this. Wait a minute. So if that’s the system, we need this. This is fine. Then put the nozzle in the tank. Let’s go premium. This is my first time seeing a machine like this without a guard because even pesos are allowed. There you go. Drop in coins or paper money. There’s no limit. Let’s try it. Self-service now. Let’s put it in and press the push button. Wait, is this okay? Let’s try it. Number two, press the push button. Push. Welcome to the fuel vending machine. First, put the nozzle hose in the car’s tank. Don’t forget to press the nozzle handle so that the gasoline comes out. You can now drop paper bills and coins into the machine. So there are instructions. I was surprised, someone was talking. Now let’s try dropping coins. Let’s try because this is the only one I listed. Let’s see. It’s PHP5. PHP5. I don’t know if you’ll see it. We’ll only use PHP5. We can now drop in. This is the button that’s been pressed again to dispense gasoline. Okay. There it is , a Php5 push button, the price per liter is Php60. Let’s see. That’s it. Until we meet again. Goodbye. The price is crazy boy. Even though we only used PHP5. Automatic. It’s awesome, it’s my first time. I don’t know if this is the only one in the entire Philippines. But this is our first time encountering a fuel vending machine without a guard. Fully automated. Just wait. We need to get gas. That’s great. Wait, let’s do it again. Let’s get gas. Php50. I’m happy, promise. Press the push button. Welcome to the fuel bending machine. First, put the nozzle hose in the car’s tank. Don’t forget to press the nozzle handle to let the gasoline come out. You can now drop paper bills and coins into the machine. Okay. That’s it. Let’s try it. How is this? That’s it. Php50 reflected. The button is pressed again to dispense gasoline. Let’s press this [Music] until we meet again. Goodbye, gasoline is expensive. And who would have thought that right here on the route we took, we would have a gas station but there was no one because it was a fully automated fuel vending machine. Even if it was a peso , you could get gas. It’s cruel. This is the first time I’ve encountered something like this. I’m not sure if this is the only one but based on my experience, this is the first time I’ve seen even a peso. It’s possible. Cruel. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] This is what the prophecy says. We’re done here. It’s raining heavily. We’re in the middle of the mountain. How are we? How are we going to do this? We have no choice but to continue this. There are vegetables. I hope there’s a hut. I hope there’s a hut. I hope there’s a hut. Or I hope the rain will just stop. We can speed up because there are motorbikes ahead and vegetables. Let’s do this boy. Oh, this is it, let’s look ahead. Look Let’s. This is it. It’s really strong, boy. Let’s do it here. Let ‘s do it on the side here. I think we need to take shelter in the ha. Excuse me if there are watermarks. It looks like we need to wait for a while. Hoo! It’s already past 4:00 in the afternoon. We’re still a long way away. The trip is still 2 hours. Let’s go and get some grain and get some grain. [Music] Oh, that’s what the forecast says because now every afternoon is different and it’s really raining everywhere in the Philippines. Especially since we’re here at the boundary of maybe a farm and Cagayan de Oro City or Cagayan de Oro. That’s why we just put on our rain coats and please bear with us. Just wait, I’ll just wipe it off. Please bear with us if there are watermarks in the footage. If this weather continues, we’ll be forced to search and drive because it’s already past 4:00 in the afternoon. Our video production won’t be good either. Even though what I’m showing you is just a road trip, you won’t enjoy it because it’s always raining. So let’s just go straight ahead. [Music] [Music] It’s so bad that we were drenched in heavy rain for almost two hours and we had to stop here in some I don’t know municipality of Talakag Cagayan de Oro City or barangay K Talakag? But let’s look here because it ‘s past 5:00 in the afternoon. This is awful. It’s awful. I hope we can find a decent place to stay here. I hope there are rooms available because we can’t afford to travel any further. Our destination is close by . Maybe it’s only about 30 minutes away. But since it’s past 5 , we’ll have to park. I think it’s here, 100 m. Wait. Where is it? Here. Is it this? I think it’s this. Is Google right? Yes. Let’s get here. What is this? Why am I being brought here? Now, let’s try this. What is this? Google, is it right that you’re letting me in? Ah, let’s take a look at this. So, is this the travelers in? Ah, let’s ask. Wait a minute. I hope there is because I’m a little tired. Yes. Doorbell. Let’s ring the doorbell. I hope there is . What is the name of this? Gem’s Travelers In. Good afternoon. Is this the travelers in? Are there rooms available. How much is it per night? Are you okay with an overnight stay? Yes. PH,000. Finally, we found something here that we can rest in so that tomorrow we can be close to our destination. This is part of Cagayan de Oro City. We got a little drenched in the rain so we’re going to rest. We’ll continue this tomorrow . Good morning, gentlemen. This is our continuation of our journey. We came from Banisilan to Alamada until we reached this part of Talakag Bukid, where we slept at Gems Travelers In. We were caught up in the night here, so we rested here. So for the price of Ph, we were able to rest well. There was a comfortable bed, wifi, air conditioning, and a good CR, and we were able to charge our gadgets so that today we could continue making our video. And from here in Talakag Bukid itself, I was surprised because we had just motored from there in North Cotabato, and we had already reached this Talakag Bukid. I was surprised that we were already here in the Bukid. This is their main plaza. There is an I Love Talakag. This is what their main town looks like. And from here in the municipality of Talakag Bukid itself, we will motor another 19 km, which is just about to our next destination. And so we can start our happy journey again from here in Talakag, what are we waiting for? Let’s start right away. Oh. [Music] [Applause] [Music] It seems like we’re going to a country road , but it’s actually just a short 20- minute drive from there to Talakag. That’s all we’re going to do here. Currently, the road we’re passing through is still paved . So that you also have an idea, here on the left there is a sign posted this way to falls. Let’s look at it. This is a steep descent. This is a steep descent, boy. There we just engine brake. In 1 km we will be there at our destination. It looks like cement all the way to the end. It’s just that it’s steep. I can’t see it on the camera but it’s a steep descent and then I’ll turn right and turn right. There’s moss. There’s greens. Oh my, there’s moss even in the middle of the road. We need to slow down here. It’s mossy, boy. This road is really steep. There oh. Ww! We need to slow down here. It’s steep, boy. I’m not kidding. Let’s go here. There oh. That’s steep. You know the ones on the mountain that are super steep. This is steeper and then there’s moss. There oh there’s greens. This is scary. It’s even scarier because the place we’re in is super steep. There, just look. I’m on full engine brake and we’re dead here. Boy, let’s take it easy because it ‘s really steep. There. Okay, we survived. You probably heard the engine’s roar, which is a fact that it’s really steep. But it’s okay. That’s all. Let’s look here. In 600 m, we’re arriving. It’s a good thing they put cement on it. It’s really steep. So this is where we’re approaching. Ah, there’s still a descent. There’s still a descent. I thought it was over. There’s not a pocket yet, then we’ll turn again. Turn right, then steep. Descent. There. Wait a minute. Let’s engine brake. Boom. There, listen to the engine roar. It’s too steep. There oh. That’s in 300 m. We’re approaching. We’re on final approach. Or maybe that’s it. So it looks like we’re here. Let’s go take a look. [Music] Hello sir, welcome to Sinolum Falls and Bulao Cold Spring. Sinolong Falls is located at Barangay Tigapuluan, Cagayan de Oro City. The entrance fee here at Sinulong Falls is if one area is only 110. If two areas which is our package Php160. Here at our restol it is the same Php110 but you are required to bring a table and chairs which is Ph. But at Phum it is Php300. You can consume food and then drinks. We are open daily 6 am until 5 pm our guests if if they will bring food we will charge them cortage sir which is 300 for the food 300 for the drinks and 500 per lion. [Music] [Music] Finally we have reached our main goal this episode because from Alamada North Cotabato itself we have reached this boundary. of Cagayan de Oro and Talakag Bukid. This is what they call sinulong falls. [Music] You can probably see what the falls look like where we are and we found out that this very location we are in is now the boundary of Cagayan de Oro City. And right across the falls where you can see the advanced falls are now part of the Talakag Bukid. Never mind, it’s just the river itself that serves as the boundary of Cagayan de Oro and the Bukid . And here, the entrance fee is only Php110 but Php160 if you also go to their cold spring there. But this is really the only one we went to. You would think that right here in Cagayan de Oro City, there are these kinds of falls with lots of water falling from above. It’s like a small, bubbling pool or the one we went to in Zamboanga del Norte called Piduan Falls. Never mind, it’s just a part of the mountain with flowing water. There it is, guys. Beautiful. [Music] The history of sinolum is false because in the past sinol is from the word solom which is as many ants as the ‘ba if we see the ants there are many of them plus. So that’s how people used to be because this is the only place they get water. Ah when tourists come here to Sinulong Falls the number one thing they really do is view our Sinulong Falls. Usually our guests are there at Bulawo Cold Spring. In the past sir you could go there to the falls itself but now ah The management has banned it for the safety of our guests. It’s just viewing up to the camping side. [Music] For those who are watching this video, you can stay here, overnight. They have a swimming pool here and you can see the falls themselves. They have a restaurant here. You can also take a day tour. It’s a shame that we can’t get really close to the falls down at the very bottom because the authorities have banned it because it’s a river for security purposes only. But when you get here, there’s nothing. You can enjoy it. From Alamada, North Cotabato until we reach Cagayan de Oro City. We passed through Lanao del Sur, the countryside, it was worth it, the journey we made. Our road trip. Check it out. [Music] And like what ma’am said earlier about why it’s called Sinulong Fools, this waterfall behind us is said to be taken from the word sulom which means ants in Tagalog. They say that before there was no source of water in our location, many people would draw water from the same source, which looked like there were many ants, but those were people drawing water. It doesn’t matter because this is the source of water for their drinking water here in our location. That’s why it’s called Sinulum Falls. And now many tourists come here. We’ve only just noticed that we’re almost alone. But when the weekends come, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, many people come here to swim, to go outings, to have family bonding, and to see this beautiful waterfall here in our location. [Music] I hope you enjoyed our journey from Magindanao, Cotabato, North Cotabato, Wao, Lanao del Sur until we reached Cagayan de Oro City. And if you are fond of these kinds of travel adventures, maybe I can ask for one from you, it would be a great help if you subscribe to our little channel and so that you are always updated when I post new adventures here on YouTube and as always, it doesn’t end here because we still have many more distant provinces to go to show you the hidden paradises here in the Philippines.
