So, I take a bath before dinner. Ready The hot springs at this hotel are sourced from springs that naturally flow within the property. Well then, I’m going to take a dip in the hot spring. While bathing It felt good. If I had to be picky, it would be perfect if the hot spring were somewhere with a view of the ocean instead of underground. The Restaurant on the Second Floor Buffet-style meal Bean Curry Variety is abundant Wagyu Beef Parmentier Meatballs, pasta dishes sashimi Monaka Sushi featuring Oita’s local specialty “Ryukyu” Soba Genovese There are dishes prepared with great care and attention to detail. The variety of alcoholic beverages has increased. Whiskey? I drink soft drinks. I came to the poolside. It’s quiet. It’s autumn. The time when only the sound of insects can be heard It’s nice to spend time like this too. The moon is beautiful. I’m so full I can hardly stand it. The pool fountain stopped. I think I’ll head back to my room soon. I changed into my nightwear. Two beds Which bed should I sleep in? Let’s put it closer to the window. I plan to get up early tomorrow to watch the sunrise. Good night Good morning A magnificent sunrise Watching the sunrise from my room is the best. I couldn’t sleep a wink last night, probably because I drank too much coffee. But I managed to see the sunrise without oversleeping. I came to the poolside. The view from here is also beautiful. There is a photo spot next to the pool. like a chapel Lovely I came to the restaurant. Even though I ate so much yesterday, I’m already hungry this morning. Delicious-looking dishes right before my eyes I thought it was just decoration, but it’s a real doughnut. Sesame-flavored Udon Eggs Benedict with Prosciutto Acerola Jelly Yogurt with berry sauce A truly satisfying breakfast. I ate too much. I ate too much. I was able to spend some leisurely time. I’m sightseeing around Beppu today. 10 minutes by car from the hotel I came to Beppu Seaside Sand Spa It’s a sand hot spring. Stylish interior This is a sand spa Spending 30 to 40 minutes filling the sandbox with hot spring water remove impurities and heat the sand. I’m going for a sand spa Cooling down after the hot spring I bought kabosu gelato. How to take a sand spa First, change into the special yukata and enter the sand spa After that, take a shower first, then the hot spring. sand spa, shower, hot spring Everywhere was clean and tidy. The sand spa feels hot and heavy at first. Staff carefully apply sand, adjusting the amount as needed. Getting used to the heat and weight of the sand in the sandbox The hot spring I entered after the sand bath was a very good one. My skin became smooth and silky. This hot spring comes highly recommended. This brown building is a lodging facility. A villa right by the sea I can see a store over there, so I’ll go check it out. Scattered throughout the spacious grounds are shops. Gelato shop Sandwich Shop I’m going out for lunch. Next to the sand bath building is a free foot bath. Rokusei Noodle Restaurant Inside the store is like this. Beppu Reimen Kimchi, char siu, egg buckwheat noodles Cold noodles that taste delicious Soft-boiled egg Beef Chashu After this, we’ll drive a short distance to go on Jigokumeguri I arrived at the Umi Jigoku Purchase a combined admission ticket There are seven levels of Jigoku I plan to go to all of them today. Steam rising beside the pond The pond has large lotus leaves Passing through the souvenir corner This is the Umi Jigoku 1,300 years ago, hot springs formed by a volcanic eruption Temperature: 98 degrees, acidic The water appears blue because it contains a high concentration of dissolved ferrous sulfate. There is another Jigoku here. That’s this Akaike. Next up is Oni Bouzu Jigoku. Right next to the Umi Jigoku Hot mud bubbles up in a viscous mud pool The Geyser Called “Demon’s Loud Snoring” The place where the demons sleep wrapped in futons, snoring loudly The steam rising from between the rocks is 100 degrees. This tree is the same color as the mud in the hot springs. Next stop: Kamado Jigoku 6 minutes on foot from Umi Jigoku Kamado Jigoku There are blocks numbered 1 through 6. Here too, pass through the souvenir corner. 1st block This color comes from various types of viscous mud formed by geothermal activity dissolving away. 2nd Block The demon of the second block fled upon seeing the morning sun. The dragon god watches over the demon. 3rd Block Cobalt blue hot spring containing silica The white parts are chunks of silica that formed over about 70 years. 4th Block Jigoku formed by various types of viscous substances erupting together with hot springs from underground 5th Block When it rains continuously, it changes to green. After several days of clear weather, it takes two or three days to return to a pale blue color. 6th Block Here too, the color has dissolved from the viscosity Like tomato soup From 1st Block to 6th Block, each one is different and interesting. Next up: Oniyama Jigoku Just next to the Kamado Jigoku The giant ogre greets you. The giant ogre greets you. It looks like it’s boiling. Incredible momentum Simple, but it’s the most hellish one so far. It has surprisingly impressive power. Next is Shiraike Jigoku Steam is rising from here too. 1 minute walk from Kamado Jigoku The previous five locations are grouped together. The colorless, transparent hot spring water changes to a bluish-white hue as it falls to the bottom of the pond. This place is like a garden. There is a tropical fish aquarium. It’s big! Keeps about 20 varieties of tropical fish. Isn’t this fish bigger than me? What the heck did you eat to get so big? Are you a catfish? After a five-minute drive, I arrived at the Chinoike Jigoku Chinoike Jigoku Japan’s oldest natural Jigoku, existing for over 1,300 years It’s a red mud pool. Next is finally the last place. Tatyumaki Jigoku next to Chinoike Jigoku This is a geyser, where hot spring water erupts at regular intervals. I waited a while for the hot spring to erupt. This is a general admission ticket. Tickets are bound in order of ease of access I haven’t seen any crocodiles. I missed it. The crocodile is in the Oniyama Jigoku You can take a bus from Shiraike Jigoku to Chinoike Jigoku The eruption interval is 30 to 40 minutes. It is contained by the roof, but the hot spring water shoots up about 30 meters. The hot spring gushes for 6 to 10 minutes. It is a colorless, transparent hot spring. Mission Complete Conquer all seven locations However, I still had one more mission left. The final mission is at this location. Shinanoya A cafe utilizing a building that was once a vacation home The building retains its original lattice doors and glass. I sat at the large round table. Lovely Cafe A retro spot This is interesting. It’s a miniature version of a local specialty dish. Cinnamon with Yaseuma Red bean and vanilla toppings Yaseuma is a snack made by rolling out kneaded wheat flour into a flat sheet, boiling it, and then topping it with kinako (roasted soybean flour) and sugar. This dish is homemade. This kinako is really good I don’t really know how to eat it, so I eat it like pasta. The red beans are warm and have the authentic taste of red beans. Additional order Black Sugar Kanten Jelly This agar is also homemade. There were so many delicious-looking menu items that I had a really hard time deciding. The black sugar syrup is very light and refreshing. I enjoy delicious sweets at a retro and charming cafe. This time, a two-day, one-night trip to Beppu I watched the beautiful sunrise at a seaside hotel. My First Sand Spa Experience I spent a leisurely time and refreshed both my mind and body. I’ll come again. See you again soon!
