[Music] [Applause] Thank you for watching! This time, I’m in Minamiizu again. There’s a ramen shop in Minamiizu that’s a little hard to find, but it specializes in shrimp, so as a shrimp lover, I had to go! The location is from the Yunohana Roadside Station. Head towards Nijo and turn onto the Minamiizu Matsuzaki Line, which is right after you exit. After that, just follow the road and turn left around the back of Minamiizu Town Hall. If you’re coming from the road I just explained , the road is narrow, and if you have a large car, you’ll have to swerve outwards to turn left, which can be a bit difficult. I think it’s safer to go past this point and enter from the opposite lane. However, even after you turn, the road remains narrow, so just keep praying that no cars are coming from the front (lol). After that, A few dozen meters further on, you will find the shop on your left. It’s a white building with a red sign, so it stands out easily, and the shop name is strangely impactful. This shop is located in Shimogamo, Minamiizu-cho, Kamo-gun, and is called [Ebishika Kattan]. Opening hours are 11:00-14:00 and 18:00-22:00, and the shop is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There is parking for four cars across the road in front of the shop, and the parking lot is concrete and flat, so it should be easy to park a motorcycle. This ramen is said to be an exquisite ramen with a concentrated umami soup made from the heads of spiny lobsters and sweet shrimp from Minamiizu, and char siu made from Izu beef raised at Hirai Farm on the Izu Peninsula, and it seems like it will impress any shrimp lover. There are also many other menu items that I’m looking forward to. Let’s go! Welcome to the restaurant! The front of the counter is a red wall that resembles shrimp, giving the impression of their dedication to shrimp. The seating is divided into five counter seats and two-person tables that can seat four to five people, with a maximum capacity of 11 to 12 people. Let’s take a look at the menu. First up is the shrimp ramen, which is one of the restaurant’s specialties, for 1,000 yen. Next is the spiny lobster ramen, described as the finest, for 2,000 yen, and there is also a set menu for an additional 300 yen. Other dishes include shrimp boiled dumplings, shrimp pancakes, shrimp-covered fried rice, shrimp chili sauce, and shrimp mayonnaise, and of course, there are also various shrimp-free dishes and desserts available. Next is the limited-edition shrimp dandan noodles, described as “double soup with sweet shrimp heads and sesame paste,” for 1,000 yen. The dandan noodles themselves are appealing, but the addition of three shrimps and the addition of three original grated ingredients to enhance the aroma is just too amazing. Next is the summer-only shrimp chilled Chinese noodles. It costs 1000 yen and it seems to have plump shrimp on top too. It really is a must-try restaurant for shrimp lovers. By the way, if you add the spring roll set it costs 1200 yen. Next up is the drink menu, Shizuoka limited beer, Shizuoka Beer on tap for 500 yen and Ice Blood Lemon Sour for 500 yen. Other options include ginger highballs and regular highballs, all at a reasonable 500 yen. Behind the counter , there’s a wide variety of drinks, including other beers, six types of sours, tea cocktails, cocktails, authentic shochu, soft drinks, and non-alcoholic drinks. Next to the counter, there’s a Hawaiian-style bowl called a shrimp poke bowl, and on the wall next to it, there’s a menu of medium and large ramen servings, which change weekly. There are also side dishes on tables for 4-5 people, so it seems like a good place to come for drinks as well as ramen. The table service looks like this: shrimp vinegar, gyoza sauce, and shrimp miso. Now that our order is complete, we’ll wait patiently for our food to arrive. Shrimp ramen is 1,000 yen, and the set [A] is +300 yen. The set [A] comes with 3 pieces of fried chicken and It comes with rice, and as the description said, this ramen is made with a condensed umami soup made with the heads of spiny lobster and sweet shrimp from southern Izu, and as it says, the delicious aroma of shrimp hits you as soon as it arrives, which really gets your appetite going. The shrimp ramen is rich in toppings, including grilled shrimp, grilled Izu beef char siu , boiled egg, spinach, mizuna, and chopped onion, and the noodles are thin and straight, but the concentrated umami soup from the shrimp clings to them, making it very tasty. The grilled shrimp adds a nice savory flavor to the texture of the shrimp, and the Izu beef char siu is also very fragrant and tender, and surprisingly thick, so it’s very satisfying. The boiled egg is also consistently delicious, and I honestly think 1000 yen is a bargain . As for the soup, when you take a sip, the aroma and flavor of shrimp fills your mouth, and it’s more than five times more impressive than the initial impact. Next is the fried chicken and rice from the set [A]. The fried chicken is Of course, it was freshly fried and served piping hot. The meat was plump and juicy, and there were three delicious pieces of fried chicken, so it was very satisfying to eat. I also tried adding some shrimp miso from the table to the ramen , which further enhanced the shrimp flavor and made it even more delicious. I added rice and ate it like rice porridge, and it paired so well with the condensed umami soup that I ate both the rice and the soup in one go. Next up was the shrimp-covered fried rice for 1,100 yen . This is a must-try for shrimp lovers. And this shrimp-covered fried rice comes with soup . As the name suggests, this fried rice is topped with a ton of shrimp, and as you can see, it’s “just too much” shrimp, and they’re large, with a plump texture and delicious flavor. There are so many shrimps, even if you eat them in one bite, there’s still plenty left, so you can enjoy both the texture and the flavor to your heart’s content. The soup that comes with it is also delicious, so I think 1,100 yen is a great deal. Next up is the limited-edition shrimp dandan noodles. It’s 1000 yen. This one is made with a double soup of sweet shrimp heads and sesame paste, so while the shrimp flavor is slightly weaker than the shrimp ramen mentioned earlier, the richness of the sesame paste adds to the richness of the shrimp flavor, making it a very deep bowl of ramen. There are also three shrimps in this ramen, so the soup has a rich, luxurious taste. I’m sure it would be delicious if you added rice to it. So I also ordered the set [C] for 300 yen. This comes with two gyoza and rice. The gyoza were quite large, so they were filling, and the seasoning of the filling was good and very tasty. Then, before the dandan noodles were served, I added the rice from the set to the dried shrimp, roasted sesame, and Sichuan peppercorns that were served, mixed well, and tried it. The shrimp ramen with rice was also delicious, but personally, I found this dandan noodles and rice to be a better match and were incredibly delicious. I added the shrimp miso that was served on the table and it was even more delicious. Next, I ordered the summer-only shrimp chilled Chinese noodles. It’s 1,000 yen, and this time it’s topped with three plump shrimp, making it the perfect dish to cool down during the hot weather. Compared to regular chilled Chinese noodles, this one has a mild, sweet flavor with less sourness, making it a delicious, light meal. The toppings are plump shrimp, a soft-boiled egg, chilled tomatoes, and shredded jalapenos, making it a satisfying meal. Finally, we were given a complimentary aloe yogurt dessert. This kind of service is really nice, isn’t it? By the way, in addition to cash, you can also pay by credit card, QR code, or electronic money. If you’re a shrimp lover and want to try a variety of shrimp dishes, why not stop by [Ebi Shika Kattan] on a drive or tour to Minami Izu ? Thank you for watching until the end.
