【家族で車中泊旅】岐阜・郡上八幡をのんびり散策!グルメ&温泉で癒される休日

Good morning! We’re heading to Gujo Hachiman in Gifu Prefecture for a car camping trip. We left last night and took a short nap at Okazaki Service Area. We just started driving again. This time, our stay is a bit special. It’s an RV park where each site has its own sink and shower. It looks super comfortable and I’m excited! It seems like a really fancy RV park. In Gujo Hachiman, we plan to relax and explore. I hope to enjoy some local gourmet food as well. So, our car camping trip starts now! Let’s go! We are a family traveling in a HiAce camper van. On weekends and holidays, we enjoy free-spirited trips together. If you like, please subscribe and join us on our journeys. Please watch until the end! This is Gujo Hachiman IC. This is the exit. We’ve arrived. The rain is getting heavier. Yeah, maybe it’s the change of season. The weather’s been bad lately. Wasn’t it rainy just before the change too? I feel like it rained a lot during our trips. It was rainy at Lake Biwa too. Oh, that’s true. That was in midsummer, right? Was the weather good in Hakuba? No, it rained a bit. Yeah, it rained a little. And Ikaho! It rained on and off in Ikaho too, especially a lot at night. Right, it’s been raining a lot recently. We keep running into rain. But it’s cool, so that’s nice. Yeah. What’s the temperature now? About 25°C? Nice. Now we’re heading to a sample workshop. We’re going to a sightseeing area with Gujo Hachiman Castle. It’s a castle town, right? Yes, a castle town. Yeah, many places still have old-fashioned streets preserved. It’s apparently popular as a tourist spot too. Sounds nice, kind of like a small Edo-period town. Yeah, something like that. Looking forward to it! It seems you can try making samples at the workshop. It looks hard but I want to give it a try! Let’s go. Let’s go! The weather is clearing up. That’s good. At the RV park, check-in is from 2 pm to 6 pm, so we’re good as long as we arrive by then. Let’s do some sightseeing and shopping, then head to the RV park. Sounds like a good plan. Here’s the river. There are lots of anglers. Yeah, many of them. They’re not fishing from the shore but standing in the river. That’s right. We’re currently looking for parking. Turn right here. No good. That’s the closest parking lot, but it has a roof, so our height might not fit. Yeah, and it’s quite narrow too. Alright, let’s go. We’ll make a U-turn here. We’re back on the main road. There’s a city parking lot on the right side. Yes, that’s the one. Oh, there it is. Is it open? Looks like it. We can probably park there! I checked, but camping cars aren’t allowed to park here. There’s a spot for large vehicles a little further ahead. Right, it says large vehicles allowed, 900 meters ahead. Let’s move there. Good thing we noticed. Here it is, near the Family Mart. This is the large vehicle parking lot. The roof is high, so even camping cars should be fine. Yeah. Buses park here too. Right. It’s right next to the city hall parking lot. There’s a Family Mart across the street. I think it’s the Atago city parking lot. We’re going to take a stroll around the castle town. The Gujo Hachiman Old Government Building was used as the town hall until 1994 and now serves as a tourist information center. Cider, huh? I’m getting thirsty. Gujo Hachiman natural water cider. Drinking cold cider to take a break. The cider tastes similar to ramune soda. You can see the Yoshida River from the window. Let’s go outside to watch the river flow. The current is fast around here. Let’s get a closer look. You can really feel the power of the river’s flow. Gujo Hachiman Rakugeikan. This building was a hospital called Hayashi Clinic, built in 1904. Interesting, isn’t it? It’s the old Hayashi Clinic. I see. It’s like a general hospital, right? There was a gynecology department here, right? So they handled various medical services. Oh, that’s great. Yeah, amazing. Adults pay 220 yen, and elementary and middle school students are free. Inside this Meiji-era building, you can see the hospital’s history and a gallery. This is the internal medicine section. Look at this! An IV drip. It’s a glass bottle! I’ve never seen a bottle-type IV before. Amazing. This area probably was used to prepare medicine, maybe crushing pills. This is the obstetrics and gynecology section. Is this a baby scale? We’ve arrived at the X-ray room. This building housed Gifu Prefecture’s first X-ray room during the Taisho era. Wow! So this is what it looked like. Here’s the X-ray machine from the Taisho era. Incredible. I didn’t expect to see something like this. The second floor of the building is used as a gallery. Old hospitals are really interesting, aren’t they? I thought it might be a little scary, but it’s fascinating. Sample Workshop main building, open from 10 AM to 5 PM. You can enjoy buying, seeing, and making samples at the hands-on shop and Retro Art Museum. We’re going to try making food samples now! There are many samples from cute to realistic ones! A super cold, delicious-looking beer!! This is amazing. The details are so realistic, it looks like the real thing. Now, we’re going to experience making samples in the 3rd grade, class 2 room! Here’s a tart. Let me explain a bit. Please pick five pieces. The kids are really focused. This is a sweets tart memo stand. Oh, so that’s how you do it? That’s right. This one is easy, just squeeze cream and put it on. Oh, you don’t put it on first, right? You squeeze the cream first, then add toppings. Exactly, that’s how it works. You can do it by feel. This is a spilled milk bottle smartphone stand. Kids can have fun making it, but it’s a bit harder than the tart. It comes in three colors: white, coffee, and strawberry. Okay, now we’ll tip it over. Now, place the bread. Place it once, then adjust slightly. If it’s too narrow, you can’t put it down. About two fingers wide. Yeah, that’s right. Okay. Please keep it like that. Wow, it really looks like coffee milk. It’s true! It’s turned white. Oh wow. Amazing. It was black before, but now it really looks like coffee milk. Looks delicious. Oh, perfect. It fits perfectly. It fits perfectly. Thank you. Now, the adults will go check out the Retro Art Museum they’ve been looking forward to. You can enjoy a retro atmosphere from the 1950s to the 1990s. Hey, I wonder why there are ski boards here? Look, there are ski boards right there. And isn’t that a cola bottle? One liter, no less. That’s really amazing. Interesting. And next to it is a Sprite bottle. That’s a shoulder phone, a mobile phone. It’s super heavy. Wait, people actually went out carrying this? Outside? Yeah. They’d put it in the car and stuff. Ah, I see, I see. A table flip! I’m trying it, but I don’t know how to do it right. Oh yeah, TVs used to come with a video player like this. Oh yeah, I remember that. That’s the one we had. I think yours was about this big too. Now, where’s the brake? Oh, here it is. Which one? The bottom. NINTENDO 64. 64 is super nostalgic. It’s a strange feeling to play 64 with dad and son across generations. Outside the window, a delivery order came from Aoyama Castle, visible at the top right. It’s Atom! I’m hungry. Let’s eat for now. What will you eat? I think I’ll have a beef bowl. I’m curious about the cold soba too. It’s only 50 yen. So cheap. Okay, let’s eat. Cheers! Wow. Slurp slurp. It looks so real. You can almost smell it. If you smell it, you’ll want to eat it for sure. There’s tempura too! Amazing. I’m getting hungry. Thank you for the meal. Leaving the sample workshop, it’s about time for lunch. Shinmachi Street has souvenir shops, cafes, and eateries, lined with lovely old wooden merchant houses. It says Hida beef bowl! Hey. Maybe lunch here? Nozaki Meat Shop Eatery, open from 11:30 AM to 2 PM. I’m going to drink Gujo cider again. It’s delicious, isn’t it? Delicious. Alright, cheers! It was fun to see various things from the past. Really fun. We even got to play games. Yeah. Since there were things from our generation, I thought, “Wow, we’re already in the retro era.” Yeah, for sure. Like Tamagotchi and CDs. And those flip phones, too. Yeah. Pokewell and the 64 game were the most fun. Yeah. We played the 64 so much. When we grow up more, will phones become retro too? I think so. So if you take good care of what you have now, it might become retro someday, right? Here is the small Tannin-don. It’s Hida beef. The cracker on top, and this is smoked tofu. Let’s eat. Here we go. How is it? The meat is tender and delicious. Here it comes. Gujo Mabushi with Hida beef. Shall we start with the first bowl? Let’s eat. Yes. First, eat it as is. Then, eat it with the smoked tofu and other condiments. Place the cracker underneath — that’s probably the cracker. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then eat it like ochazuke (rice with tea). Wow. Smoked tofu is a traditional food in Gujo for 700 years. They soak tofu in soy sauce for three days, then smoke it. So, it’s a preserved food. Amazing. First, eat it as is. Let’s eat it just like that. Eating it as is. Delicious! Next, the second bowl. What was the second bowl again? Eat it with condiments. Seaweed? No, not seaweed. So we eat it like this, right? Yeah. What?! Where did the smoked tofu go?! Haha. Both of us forgot it. Next is ochazuke. We’re supposed to put the cracker underneath, right? Smoked tofu. Here we put it in. (laughs) And now it’s ochazuke. Oh! Let’s eat with a spoon. Smoked tofu is like cheese. Yeah, it really is like cheese. The flavor is great. Delicious. It’s like smoked cheese. Such a luxurious ochazuke. Really fancy. Yeah. Thank you for the meal! We’ll take a little detour and head back to the car. Walking around the castle town was really fun, and the charming streets were very relaxing. Someday, I want to walk here at night too. It’s really big. Wow, the size is amazing. You can buy feed for 100 yen. Oh, they’re coming! They’re coming so much. They’re swarming so much. It’s scary. They must be hungry. Yeah. Alright, we’re back in the car. The rain stopped and suddenly the temperature went up, didn’t it? It’s 29 degrees now. Yeah, it’s hot. Really hot. It’s 6.2 km from here to the RV park. Okay. Let’s go check in first. Yeah. Departure, let’s go. If we had more time, I’d want to stay until evening or night. Yeah, really. The night must be beautiful, right? There were lots of lights here and there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’d be fun to walk around eating and drinking. Yeah, sounds really fun. Ah, so fun. We’ve arrived. First, we’ll check in. RV Park Gujo Hachiman. Check-in from 2 PM to 6 PM. Check-out next morning at 10 AM. We just checked in safely. After registration, we’ll go to the supermarket, then head to a day-use hot spring, and come back. That sounds good, right? Yeah, that flow sounds good. Yes. We’ve arrived at the roadside station. There’s a bathhouse attached here, so we’ll go there. Yamato Onsen Yasuragi-kan (next to the roadside station). Open 10 AM to 9:30 PM. There’s a restaurant nearby where you can enjoy set meals and soba/udon made with local Gujo ingredients. Let’s eat here today. Oh, there’s Suijin (local sake). Let’s start with that. Fried squid. Isn’t it beautifully fried? Well then, cheers! Cheers! All-free beer that tastes like draft beer. Oh, really good? Yeah, so good. Saliva chicken (spicy chicken). Let’s eat. Looks delicious. Does it really make you drool?! It’s quite filling. There’s actually a good amount. After taking a bath, I always say this, but it’s great to have a meal ready right after. It’s awesome! And this is at a roadside station, you know. Right! It’s the best. Like, if it’s cold, you can get everything done here. We need power here for a bit, so if it gets cold, let’s come back here! Maybe during a holiday break. And we can do sightseeing too. Wouldn’t you want to see the castle town in winter? They said it snows here. There’s also a ski resort nearby. True. I want to go skiing. Nice. After skiing, coming here to soak in the hot springs — that’s the best. The best. At the roadside station, there are seasonal events like courtyard live shows, markets, and experience activities, so you can enjoy the local charm every time you visit. On this day, a beer garden was being held. We’re back at the RV park. Now we’re getting ready for the after-party. There’s a washbasin. Yes, there is. You can wash dishes here, right? That’s right. And this is the shower room. Super clean. This is a place to store clothes. Oh, a clothes storage. Yes, like this. This table can be used inside the vehicle in a traditional Japanese floor-seating style, or outside as an outdoor table — it’s versatile and helps reduce luggage. The private space is fenced in with 2-meter high fences, with natural grass where you can freely enjoy camping or spend time with pets. Cheers! RV Park Gujo Hachiman also has a 100% pure water self-service car wash, so you can keep your car clean even while traveling. Now we’re starting to prepare to leave. There are power outlets, so if you bring a hairdryer, you can use it! We’ll finish off with breakfast! For breakfast, we’re having the apple pie we bought yesterday at Kotobuki, a Western-style confectionery shop we found while strolling around the castle town. Let’s eat. It was not too sweet and packed with apples, really delicious. We didn’t even pull out chairs and just ate like this—must’ve been pretty lazy, haha. Alright, we’ve checked out. Gujo Hachiman was amazing. Yeah. It was amazing. I thought it would be fun to explore while cycling around. Oh yeah, there were rental bikes, right? Yeah, there were. I wish I had checked it out and rented one beforehand. Well, we’ll come back again, I think. Yeah. The RV park was super comfortable. Everything was perfect. We went to the hot spring last night, but then we ate outside again, right? Yeah. And dad took another shower afterwards. Yeah, that’s right. It’s nice that you can do that. It was really clean. It’s hot this time of year and you sweat a lot. Having this makes a big difference. Well then, see you in the next video! Bye-bye!
