We’ve arrived at Hinokicho Park. This quiet park sits right next to Tokyo Midtown, filled with lush greenery that makes you forget the city. We’ve arrived at Akasaka Hikawa Shrine. It is said to have been founded in 951, during the Heian period. In the time of Tokugawa Yoshimune, the shrine was moved here and became a guardian of Edo. Ancient ginkgo and zelkova trees, over 400 years old, stand tall and serene within the grounds. The lighting is minimal, just enough to softly illuminate the path underfoot. In the gentle darkness, the shrine’s silhouette feels calm, nostalgic, and mystical. We’ve arrived at Akasaka Station. How was today’s walk?
