Driving in Jiaju Tibetan Village – One of the most beautiful Tibetan villages in China – 4K

Jiaju Tibetan Village is located in Jiaju Village 1, Jiaju Town, Danba County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is about 8 kilometers away from the county seat. It is the most characteristic tourist attraction in Danba and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
“Jiaju” means “a hundred households” in Tibetan. The Tibetan village climbs upward layer by layer along the Dajin River Valley, extending to the foot of the Kapama Mountains. The village meanders continuously along the mountain terrain. On the slopes with a height difference of nearly a kilometer, Tibetan-style buildings are scattered like stars, either densely clustered or spread out among the high-mountain cliffs and riverbank greenery. Amidst the wisps of cooking smoke and swirling clouds, it forms a pastoral idyll with the valleys, streams, and snow-capped peaks, resembling a work of art.
In 2005, during the “Beauty of China” campaign organized by Chinese National Geography magazine, “Danba Tibetan Villages,” represented by Jiaju Tibetan Village, was ranked first among “China’s Six Most Beautiful Rural Towns.”
The buildings in the Tibetan village are mostly four-story stone-and-wood structures. They feature green and white as the main colors, complemented by red-brown decorations, fully retaining the characteristics of Jiarong folk houses. The exterior walls have bright colors, contrasting beautifully with the blue sky, white clouds, green trees, and green mountains. Every year before the Spring Festival, villagers use local “white mud” to make dye and paint the walls, giving the Tibetan village a pristine white appearance.
There are 10 observation decks in the scenic area, offering a panoramic view of the Tibetan village and allowing visitors to feel the harmonious blend of nature and architecture. The climate here is pleasant all year round, with no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer. The average annual temperature is about 14.2°C, making it suitable for visits throughout the year. In the early morning, sunlight bathes the village, and in the evening, the afterglow reflects off it. The cooking smoke from the village and the flying magpies create a charming scene, earning it the title of “Magpie Kingdom.”
Visitors can delve into the Tibetan village to experience the Jiarong Tibetan culture, taste local delicacies such as Zha wine, butter tea, and sauerkraut buns, participate in Guozhuang dance performances, and feel the strong ethnic atmosphere. There are several characteristic guesthouses in the village that retain Tibetan architectural styles and offer comfortable accommodation.
