강원도 고성, 당신이 몰랐던 이야기! 국내 여행지 추천, 고성 여행 코스 가볼만한곳 w. 탐방레터 (왕곡마을, 고성 맛집, 금강산 화암사 등)
I had no idea Goseong was such a fun place! The reason the movie Dongju was filmed in Wanggok Village. The story of poet Lee Seong-seon, a native of Goseong. And a beautiful temple accessible in just 20 minutes. This wasn’t just a simple trip; it was a time of deep exploration of the region. This trip was with the Goseong Exploration Team. So, shall we begin? I learned about this program through the “Exploration Letter.” If you subscribe to the Exploration Letter (free), you’ll receive local news and special offers from around the country twice a week, free of charge. In particular, the “Exploration of the Month” section provides an in-depth look at a region and local brand each month, and that’s where I learned about the Goseong Exploration Team. The trip began with the Goseong Cultural Foundation. Participants received a gift package. I chose the one with the tagline, “For those who don’t read books at all, but need fall interior design.” The most exciting book was the Secret Book, prepared by Bukgeut Bookstore. The book I received was a script booklet. I checked it out in the car and loved it so much I immediately took a photo to commemorate the trip. I also used the tour handkerchiefs I received throughout the day. At orientation, we learned about Goseong’s literary history (the story of poet Lee Seong-seon) and how to write poetry easily. The lessons I learned there were incredibly helpful, as they resonated with me throughout the rest of the trip . This trip was made easy by a dedicated shuttle bus. There’s a saying that even Mount Geumgang looks better after a meal . And by the way, Mount Geumgang was on our itinerary today. The Wanggok Village Marketplace, located at the entrance to Wanggok Village, is a local restaurant run by the village. I highly recommend the bibimbap here. It was a clean and filling meal. The regular price is 10,000 won, but it’s included in the excavation program. You can also visit the restaurant on your own. Yun Dong-ju was born in Manchuria. Wanggok Village is a village that preserves the traditional Korean architecture of Manchuria (northern China). Our next stop was Wanggok Village, famous for being the filming location for the movie “Dongju.” Before we were given free time, we all went there together. Hearing a detailed explanation of the travel destination, I saw this village again. Are you curious why the movie Dongju was filmed here? Wanggok Village is a folk village with around 50 traditional northern-style houses built around the 19th century, preserved in their original form. Residents still live here today. A defining characteristic is the absence of fences between houses. This is said to have been a clever way to avoid isolation in a region with heavy snowfall. It’s also to ensure adequate sunlight. Instead of fences, the residential areas have ropes to keep tourists out. A Korean confectionery restaurant visited by Gong Yoo, the actor who starred in “Goblin.” Choi Moo-sung’s house? There really is no fence. There’s even a cow over there. The Wanggok Village community center. Its distinctive feature is its double-layered structure, designed to allow residents to remain indoors, avoiding the outdoors as much as possible. Even the chimneys are topped with jars and water to prevent fires. These all exemplify the characteristics of northern-style hanoks, making it an ideal filming location for the movie Dongju. Some even offer traditional hanok accommodations, so if you’d like to stay longer, consider this. This village is a place where poetry comes to mind. Now, let’s head to another village. Next, we went to meet Lee Seong-seon, a poet born in Goseong. His poems and stories are scattered throughout the Poet’s Path, starting at the entrance to Dongrugol. “Can I Become a Star?” Located in a very small village, I think I wouldn’t have known about it if I hadn’t participated in this program. From here, on a clear day, you can see Seoraksan Mountain’s rocks. Knowing about poet Lee Seong-seon and coming here, you’ll experience this village differently. The scenery the poet saw, the poem “Misiryeong Sunset” written on the stele, is what the poet saw. Poet Lee Seong-seon is said to have spent time here, gazing at Seoraksan Mountain and Ulsanbawi Rock. On a clear day, you can see Seoraksan Mountain’s Ulsanbawi Rock from here, but I could only imagine it, obscured by clouds . I ‘d love to come back on a clear day and just sit there in a daze. Our final destination is Hwaamsa Temple in Geumgangsan Mountain, with a panoramic view of Subawi Rock. Hwaamsa Temple is a 20-minute drive from Parking Lot 1, and a 10-minute drive from Parking Lot 2. It’s important to note that the stele reads “Odosong” on the way up, and “Nirbansong” on the way down. A must-do on any hike is pagoda building. Right after the climb, a refreshing waterfall cascaded down the valley. It would be fun to slide down here. Hwaamsa Temple is an ancient temple founded during the Unified Silla period. I stood at the bell-ringing pavilion (Pungakjeilru), where anyone can ring the bell, and quietly listened to its sound. It felt like my mind was being purified. The nine-story stone pagoda in front of Daeungjeon Hall. After washing my hands at the spring, I followed the trail up to Mireukjeon Hall. It’s said that the round trip to Subawi Rock from Hwaamsa Temple takes about 30 minutes. As I walked, I saw Subawi Rock. If you follow the trail up, you’ll reach Mireukjeon Hall. This is the real observatory. From Dalmabong Peak, to Ulsanbawi Rock, to Subawi Rock. I thought the city in the distance was Goseong, but it was actually Sokcho. The highlight of Hwaamsa Temple is, without a doubt, Subawi Rock. Legend has it that Subawi Rock produces rice if you shake it three times. But when you get greedy and shake it six times, blood comes out, and it never produces any more rice. The lesson is, “Don’t be too greedy.” Here, we were given the task of writing a short poem on a postcard while gazing at the majestic Seoraksan Mountain. Before starting this tour, the concept of “poetry” was unfamiliar, but after a full day, I found myself writing poetry. The postcards would be delivered home, so even after the trip, I could relive the memories. Another mission was to take photos while exploring Goseong and share a short message in the open chatroom. Learning about local stories, experiencing them firsthand, and sharing them with others made Goseong feel even more special. – 고성 출신 시인인 이성선을 기리는 길로, 동루골 입구에서 시작해 곳곳에 시비와 시 구절이 설치되어 있는 작은 마을이에요. 시인의 고향에 시비가 지어져 있는데 그 시비 앞에 벤치가 있어요. 그 벤치에 앉으면 맑은 날엔 설악산 울산바위를 볼 수 있죠. 시인의 시선으로 마을 탐방하기 좋답니다.

– 화암사는 통일신라 시대에 창건된 사찰로 일반인도 타종할 수 있는 범종루, 대웅전 앞 구층석탑, 미륵전 전망대 등이 있습니다. 전망대에 서면 속초 시내를 한눈에 조망할 수 있고요. 바로 옆에 수바위도 볼 수 있습니다.
– 수바위는 등산이 가능한데 등산 소요 시간은 왕복 약 30분-1시간 정도 걸린다고 합니다.

강원도 고성은 올해 여름에도 가족여행 다녀왔고 재작년 8일이나 이어졌던 추석연휴 때에도 다녀왔었는데 그 때 낙산사,휴휴암은 아예 차량진입이 안 될 정도로 인파가 넘쳐서 못 들어갔고 강릉 두부마을에도 인파가 많아서 겨우겨우 식사를 했었는데 다행히도 화진포,송지호,하조대해수욕장에는 그정도로 인파가 몰리진 않아서 즐겁게 구경했던 기억이 나네요..삼포해수욕장도 덜 알려지긴 했지만 경치가 너무너무 좋고 저희 가족들은 화진포 가면 박포수가든이라는 식당에 가서 꼭 막국수랑 보쌈은 먹고 옵니다 ㅎ 속초에 접해있는 곳이라 저희가족들은 속초여행 가면 고성도 보고 오는 게 국룰입니다!
고성에 갈 때 일부러 진부령 넘어서도 많이 가봤는데 진부령 넘어가면 검봉사라는 절이 있고 역사가 오래된 규모가 큰 절이라서 둘러보면 좋아요! 그 부근에서 다시마로 만든 된장 고추장 샀던 기억도 나네요! 그리고 고성에 라벤더밭으로 유명한 곳도 있던데 내년 봄에 꼭 가봐야겠네요
고성도 추운 지방이라 집 안에서 많은 걸 할 수 있게 전통 가옥 구조가 발전했지요.

봄비님, 탐방레터가 있다는 것, 그리고 고성발굴단이 있다는 것도 처음 알 수 있었네요! 그리고 강원도 고성 가볼만한곳으로도 유명한 왕곡마을 한옥 고택을 탐방하면서 자세한 설명도 유익했으며, 금강산 화암사는 저도 여러번 다녀 왔었는데, 멀리 보이는 수바위도 볼 수 있기에 참 좋았습니다.
예전에 고성에 위치한 콘도에 몇번 가본적이 있어서 그때 콘도로만 여행해보고….
통일전망대 그리고 해변 두곳을 다녀온 것이 다인데…
그 멋진 아름다움이 담긴 공간…………..
이곳에는 왕곡마을, 맛집, 화암사 등 다양한 공간이 위치행ㅆ었네요…..
셔틀버스로 이동하면서 이곳저곳을 다녀오았던 감성…향토식당..그곳의 멋진 비빔밥의 감성.ㅎ 가격도 적당하고 멋진 맛이 가득 느껴지네요…..그 영화는 보지 못했지만..동주 영화촬영지…….
19세기 전후로 만들어진 북방식 가옥이 위치해있군요…담이 없어서 편라히네요..대신 줄을 쳐서 관리하고 있군요…
