10月10日(金) 横浜中華街では、中華民国成立をお祝いするお祭り「 雙十節 」が開催されます。
朝の国旗掲揚に始まり、関帝廟に隣接する中華學院校庭では民族舞踊や伝統芸能の披露、式典が執り行われます。

雙十節とは、1911年10月10日に中国で起こった辛亥革命により清王朝が倒れ、アジアで初めての立憲民主主義国家「中華民國」が成立したことを記念する祝日です。
建国記念日として「國慶節」とも呼ばれ、「十」が二つ並ぶことから「雙十節（そうじゅうせつ）」という名称がつけられました。この日は、世界各地の華僑社会にとって非常に重要な記念日とされており、各地で盛大に祝賀行事が催されています。
横浜中華街では、毎年10月10日に「 雙十節 」を記念し、街全体をあげて一日を通してさまざまな祝賀行事が行われます。

On Friday, October 10th, Yokohama Chinatown will host the “Double Shih Festival,” a festival celebrating the founding of the Republic of China.
Beginning with the morning flag-raising ceremony, the festival will feature folk dances, traditional performing arts, and ceremonies in the Chinese Academy campus adjacent to the Guandi Temple.

Double Shih Festival is a national holiday commemorating the Xinhai Revolution that took place in China on October 10, 1911, which overthrew the Qing Dynasty and established the Republic of China, Asia’s first constitutional democratic state.
Also known as “National Day,” the festival’s name “Double Shih Festival” comes from the two “tens” in a row. This day is considered an extremely important anniversary for Chinese communities around the world, and grand celebrations are held all over the country.
In Yokohama Chinatown, the “Double Tenth Festival” is commemorated every year on October 10th, with various celebratory events held throughout the day across the city.
