Explore the Schilthorn the THRILLING James Bond Mountain Switzerland
James Bond Mountain The Hiking Hermit present Schilthorn Switzerland So just walking through Mürren now on my way to the Schilthorn gondola Should be getting some really super
view clear from up on the top of the Schilthorn because it’s not a cloud in the sky I got here to the beautiful
mountain village of Murren by first taking a regular train
from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen Directly opposite Lauterbrunnen station I then
took a 5 minute cable car ride up to Grütschalp The cable car then connects with the mountain
train where it’s a 20 minute ride to Murren We are presently making the 15
minute walk through Murren for the first of 2 cable cars up to the Schilthorn So we’re not far from the gondola I still need to buy my ticket Ah here we go! A proper ticket booth We are now going to take our
first of two cable cars up to Birg Here we are at Birg Birg appears as the ski station nearest
to Blofeld’s alpine headquarters in the 1969 James Bond film “On Her
Majesty’s Secret Service.” So that’s the Eiger, and then Mönch That’s probably spelt err, pronounced completely wrong and the Jungfrau I might go and check out this sky walk So we’ll go on the Thrill Walk The Thrill Walk is free is to enter So here we are on the Thrill Walk Pretty cool Looking over to the Schilthorn Do not leave the Thrill Walk I don’t fancy jumping over You can see down through the cracks The Birg Thrill Walk is around
200m in length and offers great views down to Murren in the valley
below and the surrounding mountains It also has a number of attractions
which we will now check out The first of these is a suspension wire
for the adventurous ones to traverse Ah there’s a glass like floor Some like roller things The views are pretty incredible Ah we are getting some
views over to the other side I think we’ve come to the end of the Thrill Walk There’s a little like sort of a tunnel If you want to scamper down there I think I’ll not knacker my knees up and go through there Seems to be plenty construction going on around So I guess I’ll go and get in the queue for the top So may as well join the queue Looks like there is another thrill walk here Check out the views I say “On Her Majesty’s Secret
Service” was filmed here in 1968 and 1969 Sure is a fabulous day for a visit up here Barely a cloud in the sky althought it is a little hazy You can’t ask for everything can you Some fabulous views of the Swiss Alps Still plenty of snow around The Schilthorn looks an awful lot
different to the other mountains it just looks like a lump of shattered rock to me A bit of contrast to the mountains surrounding it As we look towards the Eiger and the Jungfrau I’m not sure if the restaurant is revolving
today with the construction going on I think that restautant usually revolves We’ll now go down to the lower platform and take a look around there see what we the views are like The revolving restaurant at
the summit was featured in the 1969 James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s
Secret Service as Blofelds headquaters It fully rotates once every 45 minutes Here we approach the walk of fame featuring information boards of stars
from the James Bond movie Fist bump Catherine Schell Blofeld’s Angel of Death Looks as thought you can do
a bit of hiking off the back As we get some awesome views over the Eiger I think I’ll go up to the platform while it looks as thought there is no one up there so I might have the thing to myself Indeed I do I have to myself for now I don’t that’s going to be for long I can see people coming up behind me You are now entering an area where hazards
inherent to mountain regions may occur Well I’m kind of used to that so not too bad there’s a bit of a drop off here but it’s not too precarious Might make my way down to that
little viewpoint down there Do my bit of hiking for the day The views are quite spectacular wouldn’t you say Looks like little sheltered cabins to sit down soak up the view So I guess they let those drones up here There weren’t any drones allowed on Oeschinensee yesterday The views up here are pretty incredible You can go a little bit further down and across to that viewpoint across I’m not sure how slippy it is down there but there’s like a rope on the way down I might check it out it’s a red/white so not too bad So just taking the red/white walk
off the back of the Schilthorn see what views we can get here It’s a bit of drop to one side here and it’s a bit like slippy so I’ll watch my step until we get onto this flat bit because it’s a bit shaley underfoot As you can see some quite incredible views It looks a lot narrower from up there It’s still fairly narrow but it’s not knife edge by any means So that’s where we’ve just come from up there! Incredible views! What a day for it! Looks like there is a hiking trail you can go futher down but this about as far as I’m going because I don’t think the views are going to get much better So this is as far as I’m going
off the back of the Schilthorn Getting views of the Eiger behind me May as well take a 360 off here An awesome place to get my ugly mug in with all those mountain views As we now make our way back I think I’ll take the cable car back down or check out the restaurant first The restaurant was very busy with people so went
to check out the James Bond musuem, Spy World

Birg (2,684 m) is a summit of the Bernese Alps, overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen in the canton of Bern. It lies on the east flank of the Schilthorn, above the village of Mürren. A stunning area paul 😊 the views are pretty breathtaking. I visited Switzerland years back and got the train up to jungfraujoch and was so upset it was a total white out on top. So didn’t get any views. This looks a great location to visit to. I’d love to go back to Switzerland one day if I get the chance this would defo be on my list.
Hi Paul, what a pretty place Murren is, the cable car ride had such spectacular views. The views from the first stop were beautiful, I remember watching that James Bond film. The thrill wall was a little scary and the glass walk, I dont think i would have stepped on it or the little wire tunnel. At the top of the 2nd cable car the views were even more amazing. You captured the views very well Paul. Fantastic that the restaurant revolves to get the. most of the views. I enjoyed looking in the museum, a lovely video, take care and have a lovely week x Julie and Tony x
Wow, fabulous views my friend. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Another fabulous day in Switzerland. Great that you tell us all how to get to this awesome place as it does sound a bit complicated. Fascinating though with all the different modes of transport.and those views from the gondola are stunning. Not really a fan of James Bond though I guess everyone has heard of the films and it adds a new dimension to the day though those views alone would have been enough for me 😎😊 Oh gosh it gets better and better haha 😀 The thrill walk looks erm .. fun but good you get to go along the "extra exciting bits" .. or not !! Were people clipped on on that wire walk 🤔 Wow you got on that platform on your own ..brilliant for the 360 but I believe the best views of all came when you did the hike out to the next viewpoint. Absolutely stunning, this place definitely has a big big wow factor, dead jealous. Fab filming 😁😎
Love the name!! James Bond! You got some spectacular views from the gondola and patio area!! Reminds me of Banff, Canada. We went on a gondola 🚠 there too, and the views were equally majestic. Awesome video. I’ll pass on the suspension wire!!
It's a fantastic place to visit!
Stunning view 😍🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️🏔️
some amazing peaks there mate
Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Swiss Alps!
Wow your journey brought back memories, we used to ski that area in the 80’s. Only familiar in the snow, breathtaking views🏔️⛰️
Ah…you're taking us to new heights on this thrilling James Bond mountain! I always knew you had a little Bond in you Joking Hermit! oops..the name is…..Hermit….."Hiking Hermit" 😂I was afraid that little dog was going to jump! 19:02 Magnificant place and seeing the snow on the mountain tips; spectacular!! It looks like you hit some beautiful weather as well! I will have to pass on the suspension wire.15:02 and I was surprised to see the drones lol
Loved the ending of your video; the museum. I believe I had seen your photo on the wall? lol Thanks again for another wonderful share!!
Wow. Switzerland mountain.
Glad to see ur explore Paul.
Enjoyed watching this beautiful place.
Good work my friend! Keep going!
Thank you for inviting me to Switzerland's beautiful and fantastic scenery today, my friend.💕💕
It's always a wonderful, ecstatic landscape. How wonderful is it to go and see it in real life. I really envy you. I wish you good health and full of luck, my friend.💖💖👍👍
Absolutely stunning it’s like a whole other world up there isn’t it! Really got us excited for more mountain adventures abroad! The little shelter cabins are nice! Lots of people flying drones! The views are immense and such a fab day weather wise! Thoroughly enjoyed this Paul 👍
Oh my, those views are absolutely breathtaking! I got vertigo just watching you traverse the 'Thrill Platform' walk. I cannot imagine wanting to attempt the rope walk! 😱You were very brave walking along the narrow ridge at the end. I loved the connection to James Bond and enjoyed the tour of the Spy World Museum. Awesome video, Paul ❤
Lovely footage of such an amazing place! Cheers!
What a place!! 😮 Loved seeing this today. The views!!!! Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋
Wow Paul I loved that mountain village with the very pretty houses, like a picture hehe 🙂 This place is fabulous, you took us on a lovely tour as always, so informative and relaxing and the cable car footage was beautiful climbing the mountains. So good to see Birg, the walk was thrilling like you said with breathtaking views. So much to see and do there. The Swiss Alps are truly stunning and its no wonder they filmed the James Bond film there. So so lovely and it was great to see your 360 views ~ Anna 👍
Quite spectacular indeed, mate. Any signs of vertigo on the thrill walk? I'm sure Bond wouldn't have had any. Weather looked spot on and not too many tourists around.😊 The museum looked really cool, 60s psychedelic. Sadly I'm more Austin Powers than James Bond. Groovy, Paul!
That was epic Paul loved the vibe of the 60’ bond stuff ! but the view over the Bernese oberland 🇨🇭🏔️🏔️🏔️🦋👌🏻
Brilliant
A big smile all the way watching this one mate 🤠🙏🏼
Best wishes Simon
That walk was certainly thrilling. You should’ve gone through that tunnel thing. Ha ha.
Spectacular and breathtaking mountain peaks! 🤩❤✨
Great vlog, was really interesting watching… Thanks for the share, big like from Smith
Another amazing destination! There’s just too many cool places in Switzerland, it makes it so hard to chose what to do.
Not sure we could handle that cliff walk though. Haha
Wonderful sharing! Like it so much. Greetings! ~ Milan
Wow that was Up there. Views forever. Swiss mountains and village. Epic 👍👍
Interesting journey to get to gondola.
That is so high up going out on the hanging deck and thrill walk exciting.
Like how they name the mountains on the glass
But wait, it goes even higher!
Short hike for spectacular views
Stunning place and fun Bond connection.
Cool music at the end
Cheers 👍

The cable car journey up looked amazing, not sure how Morgs would be in it. He's not great with heights 😂🙈
The views were spectacular
Throughly enjoyed watching this
Have a great day ❤️
The Schilthorn is a stunning Swiss destination, offering breathtaking views, the Birg thrill walk, and the iconic James Bond Piz Gloria—an unforgettable alpine experience.
Absolutely stunning views 👍🏼 excellent video, thanks for sharing 😊 Liked and Subscribed 👍🏼
Did the construction take away from the beauty of the Shilthorn and the cable car rides? Is the Jungfrau better or more busy? I'm travelling there next month 😊 Great video thank you for the good commentary as well. You had amazing weather!!
my knees are trembling just looking at how narrow the walk path is at the top
