[vlog] リッツカールトン日光で過ごす一泊二日の国内旅行

An overnight trip to Nikko was decided after a comment: “You haven’t traveled domestically recently, have you?” We headed to the Ritz-Carlton Nikko, a hotel we’d always wanted to stay at. After a few hours of driving, we arrived at the Ritz , just at the top of Irohazaka. The delicate, tranquil atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. Yes, this was exactly the kind of space we were looking for…😌 Since we had a little time before check-in, we enjoyed a welcome drink of green tea and sweet azuki beans to soothe our travel fatigue. The Ritz-Carlton Nikko even had staff dressed in kimonos, and despite being a foreign-owned hotel, it exuded a Japanese atmosphere throughout. One wall of the lobby was covered in glass. On a clear evening, the setting sun shone through, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. The Ritz-Carlton Nikko offered several activities, and we planned to relax and enjoy some of them. They printed out a list of the activities we’d booked. ☺️ While we enjoyed the scenery and strolled around, it was time to check in. We booked a room with a view of Lake Chuzenji, with the lake stretching out beyond the trees. The double bed had pure white sheets. The room was also dotted with traditional crafts. I really like the chic, understated design…🤍 Welcome sweets were on the table. The separate living area made it easy to relax. There was a substantial selection of alcoholic beverages available for purchase. We weren’t planning on drinking, but for those who want to enjoy a drink in their room, the selection is impressive…🥂 I always end up skipping a hotel drink, but I wish I’d had at least one. I especially loved the tea at TWG… I’m the kind of person who always realizes things after the fact. Next up was the bathroom. I’d been looking forward to this bath even before arriving. The amenities were Diptyque. Come to think of it, the Ritz in Waikiki also had Diptyque. The two sinks were very convenient. The walk-in closet was spacious and convenient. They even provided in-house wear for the hot springs. The Ritz-Carlton Nikko is the world’s first Ritz hotel to feature a hot spring. The hot spring, which draws its water from Yumoto Onsen, was truly amazing, so if you stay here, be sure to check it out. What should we do here? The answer was “nothing.” We didn’t do anything but relax in our room until our activity time. Just having this wonderful room and this beautiful view was enough to make me happy. The leaves were just beginning to change color outside the large window. It seems like the leaves change color much earlier in Nikko than where I live. There was a magnificent red torii gate next to Lake Chuzenji. The air was a little cool. It gets quite cool after the sun goes down. Mount Nantai was also to the right. This unique view is definitely worth seeing. While I certainly enjoy city hotels nestled among skyscrapers, a lodging nestled in nature is also nice. They also sell unique Nikko souvenirs, which were quite cute. As our activity time approached, we headed toward the lobby. The interior decor and lighting were lovely and not too flashy. Since there are multiple participants in this activity, we wait until everyone else has arrived before we depart. 💨 Our first reservation was the Hotel Art Tour, a tour that explains the traditional crafts and art scattered throughout the hotel. The young staff member gave an enthusiastic explanation, and we listened intently. 👂 This activity is free, so it’s perfect for casually participating before dinner. ◎ Learning that many artists are involved in even the most ordinary decorations and murals makes it even more moving. Traditional Nikko carving. I also have a Nikko carving experience booked for tomorrow, but I wonder if such delicate carvings could really be done by an amateur… Apparently, Japanese tea is available in the lobby lounge, and there was a long line of teas lined up on the tea counter. But my favorite piece of art was this piece, “Meigen” by artist Naoto Haruhara. Even if you’re not an art expert, the explanation was thorough, so the activity ended in a flash. Dinner with us : Tonight’s dinner was at the hotel’s teppanyaki restaurant. We enjoyed a course meal featuring seasonal Nikko ingredients. ☺️ Smoked Pacific saury. The aroma of golden sesame mixed in with the smoked fish was incredibly delicious! Other delicious dishes followed. Apparently, a dish using Nikko-made vodka will follow. The flame performance is a must-try when it comes to teppanyaki! I love this classic stunt! 😋 The tender lobster 🤍 was even more delicious with the lobster-based sauce. After a granita to cleanse my palate, we moved on to the main dish: fillet steak 🤤, accompanied by freshly grated wasabi. The freshly grated wasabi had a mild flavor, and paired with garlic chips and salt was truly exquisite! Finally, we had risotto. It was filled with small cubes of mochi, creating a delightful texture and a truly wonderful texture. I wonder how someone came up with the idea of adding mochi to risotto… New discoveries like these always stay with me. For dessert, we had yuzu and pear gelato. Even though we were full, we ate it all, even the dessert. While we were eating, night had fallen outside. By the time we returned to our room, we had more snacks…🤍 Even with our full bellies, we stuffed our mouths with more snacks and spent the evening relaxing in the hot springs.🌙 Good morning . I woke up refreshed. I was so happy to see the beautiful view from my bed that I stayed tucked in for a while. Even today, the weather had been weather-proof, despite the cold air and the chirping of birds. While waiting for breakfast, I simply gazed at the view, without looking at the TV or my smartphone. It’s safe to say that mornings were my favorite part. Because I could enjoy such a wonderful breakfast in my room! We had two options: Japanese and Western, and we ordered one of each. Both were colorful and beautiful. It was such a luxurious experience that I wished I could relive this moment. While we could have eaten at the restaurant on the first floor, we felt like dining just the two of us, so we had it brought to our room. Delicious…the miso soup was delicious. Even though we’ve been having breakfast together for years, a change of venue really freshens things up. From roast beef to dessert and pudding, it felt like an incredibly elegant morning. After that, we moved on to the Zen meditation experience. As expected, my legs quickly went numb… A monk from a nearby temple actually came to help me with the Zen meditation. It was my first time, but it was a wonderful experience, allowing me to enter a state of “nothingness.” After refreshing myself with Zen meditation, I decided to enjoy a short morning bath. I spent some time alone in the hot water, gazing at the view beyond the large glass windows. I forgot about the stress of everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city, and spent a while thinking nothing. Since I had some time before my next activity, I took a walk in the garden in front of the hotel. With such a beautiful view, just walking around is a joy. My next activity, a Nikko carving experience, is booked. I’m quite clumsy, so honestly, I was a little nervous about whether I could complete the piece properly…😜 The teacher spent two hours tutoring me, choosing my favorite design, sketching it out, and then actually carving. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to carve it more beautifully, little by little. The teacher was very charming, and he taught me a lot about Nikko’s history and Nikko carving. As a memento, I carved the date of the day and my name, and it was finished.🤍 With the teacher’s help, it finally looked like it was made! Finished~ So cute! My husband carved the face of our beloved dog, and it turned out pretty well.☺️ We’ll display it in a cabinet when we get home. We took a walk around the hotel, and the wind and air were quite chilly. Still, it seems people still came here to view the large lake. Finally, there was one more thing I was looking forward to: afternoon tea with Japanese tea. I didn’t make a reservation, but it was fine on the day. First, we were given an explanation about tea leaves, and then we picked out one that we liked. The autumn-themed menu makes my heart flutter…😌🍂 Afternoon tea, which allows you to feel the seasons, is unique to Japan, a country with four seasons. The appearance is so delicate and beautiful… My favorite scones 🤤 are presented in a cute little wooden box. One of my secret pleasures when I come to Ahnun is debating which one was the best at the end 🤍 By the way, the tea I chose was fig tea. It had a clean, subtle flavor. My favorite savory dish is the crispy open sandwich with bacon and truffles 🤍. They make a second and third brew when the tea runs out. I’d like to come back in a different season. In the end, there was hardly any rain, and the setting sun was shining on the lake that day, so we enjoyed our time gazing at the garden.
