1,400本の桜の下を歩く | 日本の穏やかな春のひととき
Hi, come walk with me. We’re in Iwaakura Hanmachi, a quiet neighborhood in Ichi Prefecture. Just north of Nagoya, this town is known for its cherry blossoms. We’re standing above the Gojo River. These waters have shaped the land for centuries. The name Gojo dates back to the Edo period. The river once supported farming, travel, and trade. Today, over 1,400 cherry trees line its banks. Most are Sami Yushino with soft pale pink petals. They were planted in the early Shawa era. Around the 1930s, what began as a small effort became one of Aayichi’s most beloved blossom spots. Let’s follow the path. We’ll take it slow. As we walk, you’ll notice small bridges crossing the river. Each one gives a different view of the trees and water. The cherry blossom season has been celebrated here for generations. In spring, the whole town joins the quiet beauty of the moment.
