NÃO SEI SE FOI UMA BOA IDEIA – Nas areias da praia do nordeste de moto [TÉNÉRÉ 600] – S12/EP19
Leaning against a tree trunk… “How beautiful, isn’t it?” Hey everyone, Thago speaking, starting another video for the channel, live here from São Miguel Gostoso, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. I’m here at Pousada Moringa, and I woke up at 5 a.m. to watch the sunrise. Let’s see if there’s still time. There’s a passage right next to the inn, which will allow us to get to the beach. Yesterday we ended up here by chance, at Marco Zero, there was a sign saying São Miguel Gostoso. And Le Cappel asked me if it was very far, because he remembered a video where Vantuir Boppre came here to interview André, who is the owner of the inn. I looked at the map and saw it was 20 km, so we decided to go here. And when we got here… Le Cappel started asking about André, and the guys were able to point out where he was. And we arrived at his inn. Wow, the sand is heavy. What a place. Look at this. The fishermen. Very calm tide. Well, yesterday the sun set on that side, so it’ll probably rise around here. What a start to the video for you and a start to the day for me, huh? This place is amazing. And now, today’s goal is to do some maintenance on the bikes. We’re going to try to replace the sprocket seal, which is apparently causing a major leak on both bikes. And from here we plan to head to Pipa, still here in Rio Grande do Norte. Today it’s less than 200 km; I think I’d do about 180, 190 km to Pipa Beach. And then, if all goes well, we’ll meet up with Danilo Couto. Danilo Couto is a Brazilian who also had the good fortune to make it to Alaska by motorcycle. Good morning, Le Cappel. Good morning. Hey, everyone, everything okay? What a bad place to do your 40th birthday party, huh? A wonderful breeze, a pleasant atmosphere, perfect temperature. I think it’s not even 6 a.m. yet. Okay, while you do your exercises, I’ll sit here. Okay then. Stay there… Keep learning. I’ll face the sunset, just to stay. Keep learning. Let’s go. Now are you ready to start the day? No, now I’m prepared with all my organs in place… but it’s really good. Afterwards, it gives you energy, the day gets much better. That’s what it takes to ride a motorcycle, 6 a.m., not even that. Let’s “work” here. Okay. Now check the measurements. It’s up here. “Wow,” it’ll be even better than the original. Perfect. “Poor thing,” oh, we have to recognize its value. Factory original, 37 years old, now that it’s started to squeak. Squeak. So, it has to be recognized. I’d take it away and put it in a frame or on a keychain. I’m collecting pebbles to make a frame. Technical adaptation, folks… disposable cup to hold the pinion retainer. Can you take it out, right? Will it fit? Wow! Well, everyone, we’re having coffee here now, as I said, a few minutes ago, we met André here at the inn. That’s right, we’re here at Moringa Beach, here in São Miguel do Gostoso, welcoming these two beasts here. Look, look. I told you how we got here, right? First, it was from my friend Vantuir Boppre’s video. Then Le Cappel went around asking the whole town where André was, and now you’ve discovered how we got here. But what about you, André, how did you end up here? Many years ago. There was nothing here yet. I discovered this “paradise” here, São Miguel do Gostoso, and then I changed my life. I worked at a bank and everything. I said, it’s an opportunity to come and change your life, in a wonderful place, a wonderful beach, 300 days of sunshine. So, you can see what it’s like here and all that. And it’s always a pleasure to welcome friends back. A big hug to Vantuir. He’s had several… he was here with us several years ago and so on, and the memories always… They’re fantastic. So, I’m leaving an invitation for you, who are watching us, to come and visit São Miguel do Gostoso, come here to Moringa Beach. You’ll be very well looked after here. “Hey” Thiago. I highly recommend it, it’s a sensational place. Yesterday we saw the sunset at… Torrinha Beach? Tourinho Beach. Tourinhos Beach, what a beautiful place. Sensational. Fantastic. This guy, this André, is a “character.” You have to come here to meet him. Yeah, it’s the local event. Well, that’s it, folks, here’s the invitation. Now we’re going to finish doing maintenance on the motorcycles here, he’s even become our helper here too. Let’s go. Come on, man. We love motorcycles. We love motorcycles. Let’s go. Watch the next scenes. Without beauty, without thinking about beauty. When you thought about beauty, everything starts to… starts to stall. This is teamwork, folks. One works and two… Two watch. But it’s moral support. Moral support is sorely needed at this time. Oh, you know I’m here because, I’ll tell you, because it’s like this, I’ll have to admit. Toni Barros, a friend of ours, a real “partner.” I’m here because this guy didn’t let me give up, because we faced a lot of challenges, especially taking care of the bikes. And every chance he gets, he says: “No, Lê, I’m anxious, I want to see, it’ll work out. God, everything will work out, He’ll help you. I’m here to support you, I’m here waiting.” And this guy made a difference. He doesn’t let us get discouraged. See? That’s the idea, man! You can never get discouraged. We brought a tool, straight from Japan, that installs the retainer, a plastic tool, but it’s very good, known as a disposable cup. Here in Brazil, right? In French, what would be a disposable cup? It would be… a disposable cup. I told you the guy is smart. Not to say I didn’t help. That’s right, you have to help. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t put that retainer on mine or yours. Definitely. Moral support makes a huge difference. Bullshit too. You know it’s bullshit, right, André? Bullshit is incredibly important. Yeah. I say I have great friends who are bullshitters; they don’t lie, you know? But every story becomes an event. Then it’s bullshit. Since we’re not in the Windy City, we don’t live in São Miguel do Gostoso, we’re not in Moringa Beach, we make up bullshit all the time, right? And when you’re in a place like that, you don’t need it, man. Life is a… a situation that already makes you happy. You don’t even need anything else. But bullshit, at any moment, is important. You know how it is. Wow, what a load of bullshit, right, talking about bullshit. Changing the Teneré’s retainer… leaning against a log. Here, bullshit is called a review. Oh, here, bullshit is more chic, you know, Thiago? Here, bullshit is a review. You have to write a review, man. That’s it, everyone, it’s time to go. Off to Pipa. Off to Pipa. Thanks, André. Let’s go, Pipa. Thanks for the welcome. André is a character, everyone. Such a great guy. Thanks, my friend. “Hi.” So, we’re leaving São Miguel do Gostoso now. Amazing place, everyone. It’s 10:20 a.m., right on schedule. Asking for God’s protection for this day, so we can overcome the day’s challenges and enjoy… and record for you. We’re heading now to Praia da Pipa. First, I’ll tell you about the channel’s supporters: Bauletos Alltracks. Check out the models and graphics on Instagram; you’ll really like the trunks. Motorcycle insurance, BNP Seguros. Get a quote from Eduardo. Vital Card travel insurance. You can get your insurance using the link in the video description and my discount coupon thinoronha. Clothing, clothing, protection, etc. Nacar Motorcycle. You’ll find Macna jackets, Shoei helmets, TCX boots, and there you’ll also find my Thinoronha discount coupon. Wolf Attack, tactical products, which are also useful for motorcycle travel, such as thermoses, suitcases, bags, pocket knives. It’s so hot, folks. And this is BR 101, about 5 km over there. Two, look, 1 km, 2 km back here. There’s its Marco Zero, which we passed there in yesterday’s video. We’re approaching the city of Natal… less than 10 km away. This part of BR 101 has many beautiful places, many dunes. The big sea is right next to it, lots of wind farms. Now we’ll cross a kind of mountain here and drop into the city of Natal. And we’re also 100 km from Pipa Beach. This is the entrance to Genipabu Beach, where the dunes are too. And welcome to Natal. We’re already in traffic. Be careful with those trunks. Look, the stone city up ahead, look at all the buildings, there’s a big, beautiful bridge there , and the iron bridge over there. Now let’s get out of… Look at the size of the propeller. Wow. Exit BR 101 here and take the access to Pipa Beach. It’s already here. We’re 25 km from Pipa Beach. It’s now 12:50. Let’s see if we can find a place for lunch here. At least we’ll have lunch, and when we get there, we won’t have to rush to find a place to eat. But only if you’re handy here. This is always the best restaurant option; you eat lunch and the motorcycle is in sight. Now we continue… to Pipa. This road here is spectacular, which leads to the beach here. Soon you’ll see the beach down below, on top of the cliffs. It’s the most beautiful thing ever. We’re almost here, at the inn. It’s 2:20 (2:20 PM) now, a good time. Hi, Danilo. Is this where you’re hiding? How are you? Great. Nice to meet you in person. So, today is another day. We arrived here at Danilo’s inn. Pousada Tô a Tôa. A really cool place. The beach, just get off here, is already on the cliffs, here at Praia da Pipa. Did Le Cappel do the “rite” of 40 today? I didn’t do it today. I rested. Today we woke up at 8 AM and today we’re going to spend the day here, and… then head over to Cabedelo. Hey guys, I’m here with Danilo Couto. Danilo, welcome to the channel, it’s a pleasure to meet you in person. And for those who don’t know you, tell me about the “mischief” you’ve done on your motorcycle. Thanks, it was a pleasure. I’m the one who’s grateful, I’m the one who has the pleasure of meeting you. Man… Is it working? It is, it is. I think in 2017 I took one, I started a long trip, which was actually supposed to be a short trip. It was. I lived in Santa Catarina, in Praia do Rosa, and I wanted to see the Northeast of Brazil, and I was going to backpack. But then I decided… I looked at a motorcycle I had at the time, an XL, XLR trail bike, and I ended up going by motorcycle. The bike didn’t hold up. Halfway through, I had to trade it for… for the Teneré 250. Keep telling me and I’ll show you. And things started to come up, and it became easier than I imagined, and a lot of people helped, supported, cool people. I started to get excited, really excited. And what was supposed to be a trip just through the Northeast, lasting about six months, ended up being a three-year trip, with me going to Alaska, and then I went to Ushuaia, in one trip. I stayed for three years, it was about 140,000 km. All on the Teneré? Everything about Teneré. And a lot happened, several trips… But you only stayed in hotels, right? Inns, right? Yes. Hotels, hotels in the bush, in the desert. Nothing, I think I paid very few times during the whole trip. I think I paid about 5%, maybe not even that. I spent about 70% between Couchsurfing and motorcycle support groups. And people like that, who saw me on the road and invited me to help, invited me to sleep there, and the rest camping. Which was also… part of… the learning process. Well, guys, if we keep talking here, we’ll be gone for two hours. He told us a lot yesterday. And where are you hiding today? In Pipa. Now I’m in Pipa, I’ve been in Pipa for about four years and… very close to the sea here. I became a motorcyclist and surfer and I have a guesthouse here, right on… 30 meters from the sea, for anyone who wants to come and check it out. What’s it called? Pousada Tô a Tôa. And look here, everyone, it’s an amazing little place. You saw it, right? With a drone flight right next to… the beach. And now he’s going to take us for a ride, here in Pipa. And for anyone who wants to hear more of his stories, tell me his Instagram and YouTube. You can search for Moto Mochila Brasil and you’ll find it. Both on Insta and YouTube? Yes. So now, let’s face a bit of dirt road. If you want to film the wolf there, it’s right on… Oh, here, look. Let’s go, put the Tenerés on Pipa Beach. We’re here with our light motorcycles. We take off our luggage so it doesn’t shake too much. Look at the huge sea. What a cool place. Let’s go. This is a cliff. We stop to talk to these travelers, who make this kind of trip, lasting one, two, three years. We hear so many stories, it’s encouraging. Sometimes we get worried about something so simple like this. Look, “How beautiful, isn’t it?” I never imagined I’d be riding a motorcycle here. I knew there were these… these beautiful images, but I didn’t know you could come here by motorcycle. Pipa Beach – Rio Grande do Norte. The name Pipa Beach comes from that barrel-shaped rock there. And down here, a cliff. Now we’re going to take a little stretch there that has sand. “Look, how beautiful.” That must be the sandy climb. A little sand, to Teneré. It just warms the heart. Relax. Hey, Le Cappel, what do you have a Teneré for, man? Where’s the Dakar the Teneré raced in, man? I’m going to a town nearby, “Simbaú,” if I’m not mistaken. And there’s a river there. Cool off. Oh, the cattle. Good morning, cow. And here, the river meets the sea. What a cool place. I think this is a good size. Huh? This is a good size. Yeah. But if you want to go in the river… Yeah. Well, guys, this video ends here, on the banks of the Tatu River. Is that it, Danilo? Catu. Catu. Now let’s make the sacrifice of taking a dip in the river. Right next door, there’s the sea. Today will be my vacation, right? A vacation from filming. Now I’m going to enjoy the river a bit, return along that same amazing route you saw, and in the next episode, leave Pipa and go to João Pessoa – Cabedelo. That’s it. If you liked it, leave a like. If you’re not subscribed, subscribe. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @thinoronha. And until the next video. Thanks. I’m…
Neste episódio saímos de São Miguel do Gostoso e fomos para a praia de Pipa no Rio Grande do Norte.
