soni highlands | solo hike in nara, scenic day trip

[Music] Good morning. So, I just finished getting ready and today I’m going to be going to the Sony Highlands. I’m really excited to go. I’ve been really wanting to go here. So, before I head to the station, I’m going to stop by Family Mart to grab some drinks, snacks, and stuff. And then I’m going to head out. [Music] I took the wrong train. So, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it in time. We’ll see. I’m still going to try. I did get on the wrong train, I guess, or I didn’t get off at the right stop. So, I’m waiting for one of these trains so I can go back to the station that I need to. Hopefully there’s more than one bus in a day that I can get on to go to the Highlands. I’m kind of like stress eating right now. I hope I can go cuz I came this far and I hope I can go. It’s my favorite protein bar. It’s so good and it tastes so good, too. [Music] I think I’m going to make it, but I only have 2 minutes. Once I get to Nabi station, I only have 2 minutes to get to the bus stop. So hopefully I make it. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] So, I’m not even at the Highlands yet, but it’s a 40minute walk up to the actual Highlands. Wish me luck. There was only one other guy on the bus. There’s not really anyone else around. Makes me a little nervous, but I was originally also going to hike up the mountain next to the Highlands, but there’s only one bus that leaves and it leaves at 2:00 and I don’t want to miss it. So, I think this will be the hike just getting to the Highlands. I can’t miss that bus. So, yeah, the really steep hills. These trees are so pretty. I’m really excited that I’m here. There’s a couple of issues getting here, but at least I’m here now. So, yeah. [Music] [Music] Halfway there. [Music] [Music] It’s so much prettier in person. Oh my gosh. And the breeze is so nice. Um, I’m like in awe of how pretty it is. And there’s like no one here, too. [Music] Oh my gosh. What do I do? Oh my god. Some photos. Trying to take some back. Trying to take some photos. [Music] [Music] [Applause] I can’t believe I’m here. Seeing this in real life in person is so insane. Like, it feels like a dream. It’s so pretty. And there’s not that many people here. These clouds make it like even more magical, especially when the sun comes in and like has these clouds over the field. It’s so pretty. feel so at peace here because it’s so it’s like quiet and nice now. I’m going to go up here and hike up that and then I’m going to come back down and walk over here. And a lot of people suggested coming in the fall, but I really think summertime is just like it’s just like it doesn’t look like Japan. Like so pretty. Look, Mount Kurroso on the bottom. That’s the mountain I was supposed to hike, which I believe is this one or right behind it. But I’m just really worried about missing the only bus that comes. I’m just going to take my time and enjoy myself, take lots of photos, and kind of relax. Yeah. [Applause] [Music] So, I’m heading back down now. Um, I ended up going about there, like almost to the top. Feeling really low energy. I’m running low on water, so I’m heading back to like the parking lot area. It was also getting pretty hot up there cuz there’s less of a breeze for some reason. I did get all the photos and videos that I wanted. So, I’m really happy. So, I just decided I’m not going to push myself too much just cuz I’ve already had a lot today. This place is so insanely pretty. I definitely definitely recommend if anyone can come. If you have a car, it’s so much easier to get here. Lots of stairs, lots of steep hills, so you have to be ready for that. These views are definitely worth it. So, like I said earlier, I’m going to head this way around the lake this time. And it’s currently 12:30, so I’m not going to take too much time just cuz I want to leave by 1:00. [Music] Watch out. [Music] I’m heading down now. I got some more water, so I’m hydrated. And I’m heading back at 12:41 next to the bus stop. There’s a bunch of restaurants and a rest stop. So, I’m going to go there and rest and relax before I get on the bus. And I couldn’t get it on camera, but back there, right as I walked down the hill, a deer came out and was like walking or like hopping. Yeah, a deer came out and was like hopping down. It was so cool. Oh my gosh, there’s water right there. The trees are like in water. Hot, but that was so pretty. And I think the views were so worth the hike. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. I have been wanting to go to the Soni highlands for so long now and I finally took the trip out to there and it was so worth it. The views are insane, the hike is really nice but lots of steep steps/hills, and there was basically no one else there
