桃園中壢的今與昔|後火車站・六和商圈・仁海宮・黃昏市場・中原夜市・佳樂麵包・永川牛肉麵【IROIRO】
If meat falls on the table, you don’t have to eat it, but you must give it to your husband to eat. Has everyone heard of this kind of legend? How come this is the first time I’m hearing it? Good morning, everyone. I am IROIRO. In our previous video, we took everyone on a tour of the area around the front of Zhongli Train Station. It was very touching. Everyone was brave to share with us your own Zhongli memories. It seems Zhongli is truly a great place that carries the memories of several generations. That’s right. So, in today’s episode, we will take you to the back of Zhongli Station and other neighborhoods, to show you the other places I used to hang out. No problem. GO! We are now at the Far Eastern SOGO Zhongli Store on Yuanhua Road in Zhongli. Actually, Zhongli’s SOGO has gone through several generations of changes. The original Far Eastern Department Store was on Xinsheng Road. After it closed, it successively became Hongyang Department Store, Meihuatai, and Poya. Then Far Eastern Department Store moved to Central West Road, taken over by Pacific SOGO, becoming the so-called SOGO Second Store. It later also closed due to poor management, which is the one we showed you in the previous episode. Now, the one still operating in Zhongli is the SOGO behind us here on Yuanhua Road. We Zhongli people have our own way of referring to these three department stores: “Old Far Eastern,” respectively: “Old Far Eastern,” “Former Far Eastern,” and “Yuanhua Road SOGO.” Just as my wife said, like Zhongli Train Station, Zhongli’s SOGO Department Store has also undergone several generations of change. The current one on Yuanhua Road, Far Eastern SOGO Zhongli Store, was invested and opened by Pacific SOGO Department Store. Back when SOGO Zhongxiao Store opened in Taipei, it remained the leader in the department store industry for many years. To expand the market beyond the north, they selected the old factory site of Zhongli’s Liufang Textile, which was undergoing redevelopment, with Haihua Construction responsible for the town development plan at the time. They hit it off with the Far Eastern Group and jointly built this commercial building, which officially opened in 1998. In 2004, after SOGO took over the old Far Eastern Department Store on Central West Road, this Yuanhua Road SOGO was once renamed Yuanhua Store. Until the Central Store closed in 2011, it was renamed back to Far Eastern SOGO Zhongli Store. Early on, with the introduction of Japanese department store culture, Taiwan also adopted the elevator attendant system. However, with advancements in elevator technology, changes in service formats, and considerations of labor costs, this profession is now almost extinct. Currently, in all of Taiwan, only Taipei SOGO Zhongxiao Store and Taichung’s Guang San SOGO still retain full-time elevator attendants as part of their brand image. By the way, while researching, I unexpectedly discovered that our Sister Zhiling actually appeared in Zhongli SOGO’s first promotional flyer at its opening, wearing the elevator attendant uniform from that time. The man with stars next to her is said to be a Japanese department manager. I remember there was a shuttle bus from this side entrance to Zhongli Train Station, but it seems because the Airport MRT connected, so their shuttle bus just… retired after fulfilling its duty. Although the elevator attendants and shuttle bus are gone, my wife says the clock on SOGO’s exterior wall still plays music every hour, which is very nostalgic. When I was little, I would specifically look forward to the hourly chime. Finally, if you look closely, you’ll also notice that SOGO Zhongli Store, from its building exterior design, entrance lobby, even to the large clock on the wall, somewhat resembles Taipei’s SOGO Zhongxiao Store. It’s said that in the past, some TV dramas, if they couldn’t film at SOGO Zhongxiao Store, would also choose to film here at the Zhongli Store. Let’s go, watch a movie! Then let’s go to this one across from SOGO, Venice Cinema. It’s the only first-run cinema in the downtown Zhongli area. For Zhongli people, if they have a day off, this is the first choice for watching movies. Also, when I was a student, after major exams ended, I would come here with classmates to watch movies and relax. Venice Cinema consists of two buildings in European architectural style, connected in the middle by a lover’s skybridge similar to Venice’s water city. The first floor is the ticketing lobby, with theaters distributed on the third floor and B1. The third floor is themed after the Italian water city, while B1 is the newly renovated in 2021 “Water Shadow Venice,” promoting an immersive movie-watching experience. With water curtain light shows and visual light bands creating a fantastical atmosphere, it’s the only cinema space in Taiwan centered around an imaging experience, and it has won the iF Design Award and the German Red Dot Communication Design Award, among other international design awards. I won’t hide it from you, I was once in the Film Appreciation Club. But actually, it was pretty useless, just coming to watch a movie, write a review, hand in the assignment, and that’s it. Hello, I’d like a large popcorn, chocolate flavor. Bought a super large bucket of popcorn. I think another special thing about Venice Cinema is that its popcorn actually comes in chocolate flavor. I remember not seeing chocolate popcorn in Taipei. Chocolate flavored popcorn? That’s right. And I don’t really eat popcorn, but this bittersweet chocolate popcorn is completely acceptable. I can eat it non-stop. That’s right. But as good as the popcorn is, don’t you think its shop name, “Love’s Pop,” is kind of embarrassing? Don’t be shy. It’s fine. It’s said that because Venice Cinema’s popcorn is so popular, they specially set up a sales point next to the first-floor ticketing area. Even if you’re not watching a movie, you can come directly to buy it. Seems like a popcorn shop hindered by being in a cinema! By the way, the area where Venice Cinema and Far Eastern SOGO are located is Zhongli’s famous Liuhe Business District. It roughly extends from Jiube 1st Street to the Cihui Street area. This was the old site of the Liuhe Textile Factory. Later, Haihua Construction cooperated with Liuhe Textile to carry out a self-run urban land readjustment, launching the Haihua New Metropolis town development plan. With towering buildings and prosperous commerce, and also because it’s near Zhongli Station, plus the crowds brought by the department store and cinema, the alleys in this area have gathered many unique restaurants, cafes, and clothing stores. You could say it’s been, from the past until now, the most prosperous area in Zhongli. My wife’s gatherings with friends are almost always arranged around here. Where we’ve come to now is Zhongli’s oldest temple, Renhai Temple. Because it’s located in the old district of Zhongli called Xin Street, we Zhongli people also call it Xin Street Temple. When I was little, my family would come here to pray every New Year or on important holidays. Renhai Temple is Zhongli’s oldest temple, founded in 1826. It has a history of nearly 200 years. At that time, residents within the area felt that Zhongli’s streets were prosperous and the population was gradually increasing. To give residents a spiritual solace and a place for their souls, they discussed building a temple. Initially, it primarily worshipped Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy). Later, due to frequent travel by merchants, in 1828, they brought a branch of Mazu from Beigang’s Chaotian Temple to worship together with Guanyin. In 1834, Mazu was officially elevated to the main deity of the main hall, praying for the safety of merchants and travelers. Therefore, it is also called Zhongli Mazu. Initially, the temple building was simple. So the residents raised funds to rebuild it. After completion, it was officially named Renhai Temple, and a plaque inscribed “Sea Country Eternal Spring” was hung. It has undergone multiple renovations to date and is now a magnificent three-hall structure. Renhai Temple’s exterior is grand and imposing. The roof has upturned eaves and corners, the roof ridges are decorated with cut-and-paste art, the interior has carved beams and painted rafters, with plaques, couplets, stone pillars, wood carvings, blending traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship with religious aesthetics. It remains prosperous with incense to this day and can be said to be a focal point of faith for local Zhongli people. Every New Year, besides coming here to pray, our family also gets new protective talismans. I brought the talisman from my childhood today. I’ve kept it until now. Today, I’ll let it pass through the incense burner again to be purified. I see that this talisman has the same form as before, only now it’s become a fashionable matte finish and this hard type seems to be unavailable now. So mine is very precious. It’s a discontinued product! Can’t throw it away. The first floor main hall of Renhai Temple primarily worships the Heavenly Holy Mother, Mazu. Side deities include the Three Officials Emperor and the Child-Giving Goddess. The back hall is a large auditorium used for various assembly activities. The second floor worships Guan Sheng Di Jun (Lord Guan), Shennong Dadi (Emperor Shennong), and Wenchang Dijun (Emperor Wenchang). The back hall is the Yuan Chen Hall. The third floor is the Guanyin Hall, serving Guanyin Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. The incense is abundant. So much incense. Yeah. I thought I’d also get some for my family today, and for IROIRO’s husband. Additionally, to celebrate the temple’s 200th anniversary, a special blessing celebration is being held, with temple fairs, market集市, and a limited-time night market located at the old Taifeng Tire factory site. It covers an area of about 20,000 ping (approx. 66,000 sqm), gathering over 400 food stalls and featuring 19 amusement rides. The scale is quite astonishing. The event started on August 2nd and continues until the end of this year, operating every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5 PM onwards. Friends visiting Zhongli might want to schedule a visit to Renhai Temple’s limited-time night market to check it out. Order. Let me see if I can read it. Here. Oh, what glasses are these? Eat here? Yes, eat here. Haven’t given you the sweet one yet. Let me mix the tangyuan for you. Okay, thank you. This Xin Street Long Tangyuan place is a set itinerary for us Zhongli people after worshipping at Renhai Temple. We always come here to eat. Okay, then let me follow in the footsteps of Zhongli people and try this set to see how it is. Its most famous item is its large tangyuan. There are savory tangyuan and sweet tangyuan. And the tangyuan are really huge. Five pieces per bowl. Each one is plump and white. This is also an old establishment, seems like it’s been around for over 60 years. Over 60 years. Wow. How is it? Does it颠覆 your impression of savory tangyuan? I didn’t really like savory tangyuan before, but this completely颠覆 my impression of savory tangyuan. It’s really delicious. That’s right. Because I also like sweet tangyuan, but this savory one is good. The filling inside, the meat, the flavor is also super tasty. The sweet tangyuan is also very large. They don’t hold back at all. After eating these ten tangyuan today, we should be very full. How is it? It’s delicious! Is it similar to the feeling of Guailian brand? The skin is still somewhat different. I think its skin seems chewier and thicker. And just after worshipping, coming to eat tangyuan feels圆满 (complete/perfect). Not bad. Also, the ten pieces symbolize perfection in every way (十全十美). The chili sauce here actually has one called “Extremely Spicy”. That’s astonishing. How spicy is it? Let’s see how it is. Let me try it for everyone right away. It is spicy. But for me, it’s okay. I think it’s still acceptable. But for the general public, this can be considered… extremely spicy. Very spicy. But not quite “extremely” spicy. I’ll just take a little bit. Extremely spicy. For me, it’s so spicy! We’ve come to Zhongli Train Station again, only this time we’re at the back station. It’s located next to the original back station, but because there’s construction and renovation here, the original back station has been closed off. This is currently also a temporary station. Originally, Zhongli Train Station had two pedestrian passages, one inside the station and another next to the station. Due to the construction, both are now closed. So now, a cross-station overpass has been built connecting the front station, back station, and the platforms. I like this shot. I’m taller than you. In response to the railway underground project, to allow trains to still operate normally during the construction period, Zhongli Back Station adopted a “build first, then demolish” method. A temporary station was built next to the original back station first for passenger use. A new cross-station overpass was also built connecting the front station to the platforms. Simultaneously, the original pedestrian underpass was demolished and closed due to the project. In the future, work will proceed on the Airport MRT Zhongli extension line’s main structure, as well as the Taiwan Railway track and platform renovation project. The goal is to seamlessly connect with the Taoyuan Railway Underground construction. This Jiebi Comic Store, it was originally located across from Zhongli Back Train Station, next to the FamilyMart. Now it has moved to No. 67, Section 2, Zhongbei Road, near the PX Mart. When I was little, my sister and I would save our lunch money to buy comics here. At first, we would secretly hide them in places like under the bed, in drawers. Later, as we bought more and more, we simply stopped hiding them. We just took them out openly. And my mom just silently accepted it, turning a blind eye. Jiebi Comic Store mainly sells Japanese and Chinese version comics and novels, as well as some anime周边. My wife says the comics here are well categorized and updated quickly. It’s the preferred treasure trove for many Zhongli people and comic fans. However, due to the prevalence of smartphones and tablets now, and the popularity of online comic platforms, comic stores are disappearing one by one. Physical comic stores like Jiebi are truly becoming fewer and fewer, which is also quite regrettable. Although introducing a clinic might seem a bit strange, this one, Dingsheng Clinic, when we were little, if anyone in the family got sick, we would come here to find Director Dr. Zhuang to solve our ailments. This Taiwan Cooperative Bank, I remember when I was little it was next to the Earth God Temple diagonally across the street. It moved here later. And Taiwan Cooperative Bank was the first bank where I opened an account in my life. Also, that street opposite now, with Zhongyuan Bento and Carpenter’s House, I remember it used to be called Apollo Video. It was the kind of place that rented out VHS tapes, DVDs… Those things probably don’t exist anymore, right? They probably don’t exist anymore. Yeah. I really don’t want to admit that I lived through the VHS tape era. This Earth God Temple has also been here for a long time. When I was little, for major holidays, our family would go to Renhai Temple, but normally we would come to this Earth God Temple to pray. Coming back here after many years, I find that this place has been very well maintained. And I only realize now that the Earth God statue I saw as a child has a full smile and a kind, amiable expression. So I always thought all Earth Gods were like this. I later discovered that actually, many deity statues of Earth Gods have a more威严 (dignified/solemn) and庄严 (solemn) appearance. Taking you to a mysterious place. What? What? Are you taking me here to rest? This Earl Hotel, actually holds a special memory for me. ! ? You explain this clearly! What is it? No, no. Actually, this matter should be remembered by many Taoyuan and Zhongli people. It was around 2004, during the Aere typhoon. The typhoon caused very severe flooding. The entire Section 2 of Zhongbei Road to the train station, or even to Chung Yuan University, many places along the way were flooded. At that time, my cousin would even carry me on his back to see the flooding. Thinking about it now, it was really super, super reckless. After the flooding, the turbidity of the Shimen Reservoir became very high, making water supply impossible. So at that time, the entire Taoyuan-Zhongli area was without water for about… I think it was almost 20 days. That long? Yes, super many days. It was the Taoyuan Great Water Shortage incident. So, on this side of the Earl Hotel, there was a water tap provided at that time for nearby residents to fetch water. But I don’t quite remember who provided that water tap. If any Zhongli friends know, please leave a comment below. You’re welcome to leave a message below. Mount Fuji. Don’t you think its pineapple buns have particularly plump bellies? They look so puffy. Yeah, begging to be eaten. Hey, where’s my wife? Bought too much again! We’ve come to Zhongli’s local famous store, Jiale Bakery. This is hailed as the Taoyuan version of Red Leaf Cake. That impressive? But when I was little, I was somewhat unaware. I just thought it was a bakery we often came to. It wasn’t until I grew up that I tried its signature Boston Pie, and it’s really super delicious It’s really very delicious. Before, when my wife first brought me here to buy it, I only bought a small triangular slice. After eating it at home, I was astonished. I immediately regretted not buying a whole one. That’s right. So now when we come to buy, we always buy a whole box. The best Boston Pie I’ve ever had in my life. RT-Mart became a big PX Mart. Such a festive sign. Across from the big PX Mart, on Zhongbei Road, is this Zhongbei Huanghun Market (Afternoon Market). Its operating hours are daily from 2 PM to 7 PM. Because its main operating hours are in the黄昏 (dusk/evening) period, it’s also called a Huanghun Market (Evening Market). The most characteristic feature here is that there are especially many cooked food stalls, and the prices are very affordable. Therefore, it attracts many local residents to come and shop. This Yongyu Hang is a local Zhongli bedding老店 (old store) with over 40 years of history. When I was little, my mom always bought quilts and bed sheets here. The quality is very good. Even now, they don’t pill. This NET shopping building used to be Xintiandi Swimming Pool. Xintiandi Swimming Pool was a large indoor swimming pool complex. Inside, besides having a regular indoor swimming pool, there were also water play facilities, and a SPA hot spring facility. It was a great place for many Zhongli people to cool off in summer. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it closed down in 2021, becoming one of the most lamented memories for many Zhongli people. I suppose many Zhongli people also grew up drinking the water from Xintiandi Swimming Pool, right? (Note: This is a playful Taiwanese saying meaning they spent a lot of time there.) This Zhongyuan Overpass is also historically significant to us Zhongli people. How so? Cars drive on the bridge deck, there’s a scooter-only lane underneath the bridge, and pedestrian footbridges are set up on both sides of the bridge. So the entire bridge is intricate and complex. When I was little, I always felt it was like a maze. I never knew which path led where. You can pass above and below! Doesn’t that feel similar to the Seto Ohashi Bridge? One bridge, two uses. Zhongyuan Overpass opened in 1983. It is an important connecting route between the front and back of Zhongli Train Station. It is also one of the local busy traffic hubs. It’s no surprise my wife finds this place difficult. Actually, it’s not surprising. Cars above, scooters below, pedestrians on the side. On the bridge, there are also three forks leading respectively to Section 1 of Zhongshan East Road and Puyi Road. But the scooter-only lane under the bridge only leads to Section 1 of Zhongshan East Road. And it’s said that here, every morning and evening during rush hour, there are traffic jams. Plus, the road width isn’t wide, scooters and cars weave into a tangled mess. Especially the intersection of Zhongshan East Road and Zhongbei Road is also considered one of the dangerous road sections in Zhongli. There have even been cases of cars mistakenly entering the scooter underpass and getting stuck inside, unable to get out. For those unfamiliar with the road conditions, it’s really easy to get lost. Although it’s planned that in the future,配合 (in line with) the Taoyuan Railway Underground project, this bridge will be demolished. But possibly, perhaps, maybe we still have to wait quite some time. How do you feel after walking up here? This place is really quite special. Feels like organized chaos. The roads and overpasses are all quite small. It feels a bit like a small Hong Kong. Feels like you could easily get lost inside. Right? Yeah. The plaque… my husband, he gives people haircuts… That… “Ichiban” (Number One), right? Very impressive! Boss, this place has a vibe like a Hong Kong barbershop. Very retro, vintage feeling. In ’81, my husband was in a competition… A haircutting competition. Ah, yes, yes. So impressive. He’s now over 80 years old. Taking you to eat meat. Okay. Two people. Menu, crayon. Taking you to eat the平价 (affordable) steak I had for the first time as a child. Donald Duck Steakhouse. And don’t you think eating steak as a child was a very luxurious thing? As a child, being able to eat steak made you feel so high-class. That’s right. And I remember it used to be like eighty, ninety dollars for a steak. You absolutely can’t find that price now, eighty or ninety. Prices have risen with age. That’s not it. You’re only 18 years old. Well said! I need to flip my egg quickly. When the steak comes, the most important thing for me is to flip the egg. Really? For steak, I think you must flip it. But other eggs can be eaten runny. So this is also a place you’ve eaten at since childhood? I should say, on holidays, we would sometimes come to eat. Back then, I felt, “Wow,” the height of luxury. You try it quickly. I think it’s still very tender. And the taste is that kind of very satisfying heavy flavor. And when I was little, I don’t know why, I would squeeze tons of ketchup on the steak. Me too! Yeah, yeah. But after growing up, I stopped. I still do! Squeezing until the whole plate is red. And I think its storefront seems pretty much unchanged from before. Its storefront is quite large. Yes. Probably two storefronts combined. Seems like two stores combined. They give a lot of noodles. And it’s that thick kind of noodle. So eating it is quite filling. This is the taste. It brings back childhood memories. And I think the most special thing about this restaurant is that besides the standard steakhouse corn soup, it also provides mung bean soup! So you have both savory and sweet. Letting everyone eat their fill and eat well. If meat falls on the table, you don’t have to eat it, but you must give it to your husband to eat. Has everyone heard of this kind of legend? How come this is the first time I’m hearing it? Four Fruits Ice piled high like a mountain. This is a famous ice shop in the back station area. It’s also an old store with over 60 years of history. The招牌 (signature) item here is its Four Fruits Ice. Inside, it has its most amazing red and white QQ tangyuan. We’ll try it later. You can also change the syrup to brown sugar. The ice amount and sugar level can be adjusted. Very customizable. So refreshing. It looks really delicious. Ours is with the basic syrup, which has that wintermelon sweet flavor. And look at its QQ tangyuan, they’re large. So good! And it gives a lot of toppings too. The bottom is full of mung beans and red beans. Look, one scoop and it’s all mung beans. I find its brown sugar syrup has completely captivated my taste buds. I don’t care about the others in my mouth anymore. That’s right. Mine is without reduced sugar, perfect for you. This is so QQ (chewy). Almost choked on it just now. I forgot to mention in the last video that we Zhongli people are accustomed to using Zhongli Train Station as the boundary. The west side of Zhongli Train Station, the station front business district area, we call it the “Front Station.” Because there are more shops there, it’s comparatively livelier. The east side is the “Back Station.” I used to think the Back Station… was comparatively quieter. But looking at it today, there are many more international shops. It has quite an international flair. Xinxing Road, located in the Back Station, is now also called “Indonesia Street.” It gathers Indonesian restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Compared to the Front Station, which is mainly Thai and Filipino shops, the Back Station’s Xinxing Road can be said to be a microcosm of Indonesian culture. Additionally, my wife says there are many more hotels on this street now, and it’s also called “Hotel Street” by locals, another distinctive feature of Xinxing Road that leaves a deep impression. Exiting Zhongli Train Station and turning right, walk straight to the end, and you’ll come to this Zhongxin Underpass. It is another very important underpass connecting the Front and Back Stations. When I was little, our family lived in the Back Station area, so this was a passage I used every day. Back then, it had one lane for each direction, one for cars, one for scooters, and then there was this very narrow pedestrian walkway. You can see it’s very narrow. So every time I walked through here, I almost felt like I was pressed against the scooters next to me. Now I see it has been renovated. It’s become mixed lanes, three lanes in each direction. So scooters can also go through underneath now. It seems the traffic has become smoother. But the pedestrian walkway is still quite narrow. Additionally, there’s another daily scene belonging to the daily life of Zhongli people. This area’s terrain is relatively low, so whenever it rains, it floods. It often becomes a holy land for flooding. The advantage of being 182.5 cm tall is that you can always touch the ceiling inside the underpass. So annoying, so boastful. If buying stationery in the Front Station means Guangnan, then the representative for the Back Station is this Youshenjia. This Youshenjia, besides stationery supplies, also has some professional art materials inside. So for art or related science students, this place is a treasure trove. I see. But what attracts me more here is I just discovered that this building has from B1 to the 7th floor, a total of eight floors, all belonging to it. How big is that? My goodness! Shop to your heart’s content! Stationery lovers would go crazy here. Absolutely. This building next to us is the old site of Chung Yuan Cinema. It used to be a famous second-run cinema in the Chung Yuan business district. Back then, one ticket allowed you to watch two movies. Isn’t that just like Ximending’s Oscar Cinema? When I was a student, I also went to Oscar, one ticket for two movies. But I forgot if it’s already closed down. Anyway, it’s super high value for money! So when it closed in 2020, everyone felt very sad and reluctant. So regrettable. Really. It also had another characteristic: its movie posters were all hand-painted by master craftsmen. So these movie posters were very复古 (retro) and detailed, very distinctive. So at that time, this was also a check-in or photo spot. In the evening, we came to Chung Yuan Night Market. It centers around the area near the main gate of Chung Yuan University, including Shijian Road, Rixin Road, and the Bode Food Plaza area. It’s a shared local memory for many Chung Yuan students and Zhongli people. A common local memory. I think the scale exceeds my expectations; there are so many people. Lots of people, lots of vehicles inside. Everything is plentiful. And every shop seems to have a queue! Yes. This is really quite special. Do people in Chung Yuan particularly love night market food? And I think here, besides snack foods, there are also many clothing stores, hair salons, stationery stores. So it brings together all kinds of shops. It’s also known as the most diverse night market in Taoyuan. Let’s eat! Time for dinner! Yes, for dinner, I’m taking you to eat a famous beef noodle shop in Zhongli. Yongchuan Beef Noodles! Yongchuan Beef Noodles? Oh, how impressive is it? Actually, there’s another one next to it called Xinming. The two are said to have the same origin, but now they each have their own supporters. I’m bringing you to this Yongchuan one because it’s my cousin’s favorite shop. Since it’s my cousin’s choice, then it must be good. It’s just… Whenever you ask him, “What did you have for dinner today?” or “What do you want for dinner?” he says, “Yongchuan Beef Noodles.” Does he like it that much, cousin? I think the main reason is it’s open 24 hours here. Whenever you want to eat, it’s very convenient. Extra soup and noodles once for free. A bowl of beef noodles seems to have quite a few pieces, and each piece of meat I think is pretty large. Quite generous. Wow, this meat is also very large. Wow, not bad! Boss lady, would you consider extra meat for free too? I would come every day. That would probably lose money. Okay, let’s eat! I think it’s very flavorful. It’s that Sichuan-style beef noodle saltiness and spiciness. It’s a heavy-flavored beef noodle. The broth’s flavor is truly heavy and fragrantly sweet. But its spiciness, for me, is simply a piece of cake. I think it’s slightly numbing and the kind that makes you eat very爽快 (pleasantly), but not the kind you can’t eat. Compared to the “Extremely Spicy” we had for lunch today, the sensation of spiciness is different. I think this place is very suitable for people who like heavy flavors. I really like it. The flavor can be adjusted. If everyone eats relatively light, you can tell the staff when ordering. I like heavy flavors. Its noodles, its soup, and its meat’s flavor… From now on… Yongchuan, you are my big brother. Isn’t that too exaggerated? I think its soup flavor is so strong, it’s quite impressive that someone can ask for extra soup. You have one right beside you! No problem. So, today we took you to other areas of Zhongli. What do you think? Frankly, I think it was quite fun. I feel like I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the environment where my wife grew up. Good. But just like mentioned in the previous episode, Zhongli is really big. We still couldn’t cover Longgang and Neili today. It’s okay, we’ll just come again next time. Digging a hole for ourselves to jump into first. That’s right. This episode is about done. We also welcome all Zhongli people, or friends who have visited Zhongli, to share in the comments section your Zhongli memories, or recommended Zhongli spots. Okay. Or if everyone has hopes for where you’d like us to film next, you can also leave a message below telling us. We hope you also enjoyed today’s video. Please also give us a like, subscribe, and share it out. Thank you, everyone. See you in the next video. Bye-bye.
