Visit Hidden ONSEN RYOKAN (hotel) in AKITA I use JAL points for this flight Mt. Fuji! A cold wave was hitting Japan at this time AKITA Airport (One hour from HANEDA) NAMAHAGE are believed to be incarnations of the deities of mountains TATSUKI FUJIMOTO who creates “Chainsaw man” is from AKITA Take AKITA Airportliner to KAKUNODATE
(4,500yen Reservation are required) If you take SHINKANSEN (Bullet train) between TOKYO
and KAKUNODATE, round trip ticket is about 30,000 yen AKITA is snow country One hour ride from AKITA Airport BUKEYASHIKI Street The town is established in 1620(Edo era) There are some BUKEYASHIKI (Houses where SAMURAIs used to live) in the street Cherry blossoms are popular in spring The most famous BUKEYASHIKI is… AOYAGI SAMURAI Museum Main House is as it was about 200 years ago A lot of exhibitions here

20-30min. walk from BUKEYASHIKI area Shuttle bus of the RYOKAN is coming at 2:30PM During the winter season, the shuttle bus is the only way to access the RYOKAN As you go the road, you will know why Feeling uneasy Only drivers who accustomed to the road can drive Stunning view! But so close to the edge After 30min. ride from the station The RYOKAN I stay tonight is coming into view There is nothing but the nature around the RYOKAN. Very secluded! MIYAKOWASURE Warm atmosphere is welcoming us Only 10 guest rooms here and all of them have private open air bath Feel OMOTENASHI (Japanese hospitality) in various ways Choose beer as a welcome drink IBURIGAKKO (Smoked Japanese radish) Go to my room… Open air bath with river view! Go out to open air bath ONSEN contains minerals and good for skin Feel nice! Beds are so comfortable There is an ear plug in amenities but didn’t need it “Please take a relaxing bath” YUKATA HANTEN is very warm In the lobby You can pick up fruits and… read books here and… enjoy watching fire place Let’s chill out As time goes by, the scenery is changing Feel like I’m alone in the world I’ve visited here 11 years ago and it was amazing So I came back again to share these experiences Big surprise! Bitterness is strong INANIWA UDON is popular local UDON Boiled spinach with DASHI soy sauce The dish brings out the full flavor of spinach Abalone is nice texture and delicious Fried char Shark fin with starch sauce A lot of dishes and they serve them at my pace AKITA beef stew and salad with IBURIGAKKO KIRITANPO is very popular local hot pot Enjoyed a lot of local seasonal specialties Take free coffee in the lobby Have dessert in my room This DAIFUKU is rice cake stuffed with red beans paste
and ice cream(on the right) Different scenery at night Good night Go to another ONSEN bath which requires reservation “OHAYO GOZAIMASU” is “Good morning” Put rubber boots on It’s Cold! Just go go go! Wow!! Didn’t take this bath when I visited last time Small stones at bottom of bath massage my feet. Feel so good Want to stay here forever… Different angle shows us that the RYOKAN is
in the very mountain area This ONSEN has been familiar with local people
since EDO era My breakfast starts at 9AM AKITA’s bland rice
Soft and chewy! YUDOFU (Hot TOFU) HATAHATA is popular fish in AKITA (on the left) Enjoyed local specialties SHOTTSURU (fish sauce) is tasty

(1,210 yen) The depth of TAZAWAKO is 423.4M and deepest in Japan The bus stops at some sightseeing spot and we can take our time TATSUKO statue GOZANOISHI JINJA(Shrine) After I prayed, it’s getting sunny! Thank you for watching!
