Hello everyone! I’m Naru! Today we’ve come to Yoshino Mountain in Nara Prefecture, known since ancient times as “Thousand Cherry Trees.” Nara Park, home to over 1,000 deer, and Todaiji Temple’s Great Buddha Hall, the world’s largest wooden structure, are what make the Nara City area famous! Mount Yoshino is located about 50km south from there, in the Yoshino area of southern Nara Prefecture! Yoshino Mountain has about 30,000 cherry trees
planted across its slopes, and the sight is like white clouds covering the mountain, which has been called “clouds of flowers” since ancient times. It’s incomparable to typical cherry blossom viewing spots, offering an overwhelming three-dimensional experience!! It’s divided into four areas: Lower Thousand Trees, Middle Thousand Trees, Upper Thousand Trees, and Deep Thousand Trees, allowing you to enjoy the cherry blossom front as it climbs up the mountain over about two weeks. In the Lower Thousand Trees area, there’s the atmospheric stone-paved “Seven Curves Slope.” In the Middle Thousand Trees area are the national treasure Kinpusenji Temple and the historic Yoshimizu Shrine. Moving to the Upper Thousand Trees area, there’s the scenic spot “Hanayagura Observation Deck” and Yoshino Mikumari Shrine, which enshrines the water deity! Further into the Deep Thousand Trees area, you can experience the deep connection between cherry blossoms and history at Kinpu Shrine and Saigyoan Hermitage, associated with the poet-monk Saigyo!! Regarding access, there are many ways to get to Yoshino Mountain, but today I’ll introduce a few! To Yoshino Station: From Kyoto: about 1 hour 40 minutes (change at Kashiharajingu-mae) From Osaka: about 1 hour 15 minutes (direct from Osaka-Abenobashi) From Nagoya: about 3 hours (change at Yamato-Yagi/Kashiharajingu-mae) About getting around within Yoshino Mountain: From Yoshino Station, take either the ropeway or walk to reach the Lower Thousand Trees area. If using the ropeway: Senbonguchi Station ⇄ Yoshinoyama Station (Lower Thousand) If walking: Take the Seven Curves Slope, about 20 minutes. By bus: During regular times, within Yoshino Mountain, a route bus circulates between “Yoshino Shrine ~ Deep Thousand Trees”!! During cherry blossom season: The area from Yoshino Mountain Tourist Parking (Lower Thousand Parking) to Katte Shrine becomes pedestrian-only. Therefore, the normal bus routes do not operate!! Instead, two temporary bus lines operate! The first is: Kintetsu Yoshino Station ⇄ Middle Thousand Bus Depot (In front of Chikurinin) The second is: In front of Chikurinin ⇄ Deep Thousand Trees If using a car: The main parking lots in Yoshino Mountain are Yoshino Mountain Tourist Parking (Lower Thousand Parking) and Nyoirinji Temple Parking! During busy times like cherry blossom weekends, private car access is restricted!! Suburban Parking Lot #1 and Suburban Parking Lot A open temporarily! From these parking lots to Yoshino Mountain Tourist Parking, etc., shuttle buses are also available! To the Yoshino Mountain area: From West Meihan Expressway Koriyama IC ~ about 60 minutes From Minami-Hanna Road Katsuragi IC ~ about 45 minutes From Keinawa Expressway Kizu IC ~ about 1 hour 30 minutes From Meihan National Highway Hari IC ~ about 60 minutes Since operations change depending on the year, I strongly recommend checking information in advance before heading there! This fog is so nice! It creates a great atmosphere! Feels like the 1000-year-old capital’s history! Haha! It’s nice! I didn’t expect we’d see this kind of fog! Because it was raining… You can really feel the history! Haha! Amazing! It’s pink from top to bottom! Like a carpet! The cherry blossoms have different varieties and colors too There are darker pink ones and lighter pink ones♪ Toyotomi Hideyoshi made Yoshimizu Shrine his cherry blossom viewing headquarters! During the Northern and Southern Courts period, this was the imperial residence of the Southern Court You can feel the history! Along with the cherry blossoms That history existed here Amazing The cherry trees blooming in Yoshino are mostly mountain cherry trees! Is that so! Not Somei Yoshino cherry trees! Right! They’re different! The characteristic of these mountain cherry trees is that young leaves appear at the same time as the flowers bloom!! They’re blooming together The leaves are blooming together with the flowers! And the cherry petals are characteristically whitish Yoshimizu Shrine, established about 1350 years ago, is known for the tragic love story of Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Shizuka Gozen, and as Emperor Go-Daigo’s temporary palace, making it a treasure trove of history. Worship is performed with the unique method of two bows, seventeen claps, and one bow, offering gratitude to seventeen deities. 18 claps? Wasn’t it 17 claps? It was 18 claps! Haha! I lost count halfway through How many times I clapped! It was 18 claps! One was a bonus! Haha! I did 18 claps… Haha! Founded about 1350 years ago by En no Gyoja, the founder of Shugendo, this historic temple was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2004. The current main hall (Zao Hall) was built with funding from Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and after Todaiji in Nara, it’s the second largest wooden structure in Japan. The cherry blossoms are falling a bit now Yeah The Lower Thousand seems to be falling a bit The Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom in order: Lower Thousand→Middle Thousand→Upper Thousand→Deep Thousand!! So if we go higher up, they should still be blooming! That might be the case It might be just perfect timing♪ I’m excited to go!! Eating this makes you feel like you’re really in Nara The weather is a bit cloudy but we’re staying overnight today Tomorrow’s forecast is sunny Looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms in the sunshine♪ That’s true!! Located near Kinpusenji Temple, “Kazuya Nakai Shunpudo” is a specialty shop for Yoshino kuzu (arrowroot), representing Japan! You can enjoy a special time learning valuable knowledge about kuzu from the owner while watching a demonstration of traditional techniques. It’s a special experience. The “transparency” and “beautiful elasticity” that only freshly made kuzu has can only be experienced at this shop!! It’s so jiggly! It’s super chewy! It’s hard to believe it’s just made from water and kuzu Delicious!! Doesn’t it taste even better now that you know how it’s made? Delicious!! Isn’t it super transparent? The texture is completely different!! Mochi is soft and chewy, but kuzu-kiri is firm! Just the amount of water makes such a difference!! Amazing!! Delicious!! But I might prefer the mochi♪ It’s so chewy!! So delicious!! Makes you want to eat it again and again Dipping it in kinako (soybean flour) makes it even more delicious!! What’s wrong? This place is compact, making it easy to explore “Scenic Inn Hounkaku” boasts a 257-year history Located on a hill in central Yoshino Mountain, all guest rooms offer spectacular views of Middle and Upper Thousand Trees, making it a charming historic inn. Wow~!! You can see cherry blossoms! You’re right!! Wow! Amazing! Hey, that’s really nice! Isn’t it amazing? Wow~ Ah, cherry blossoms! You can see all the way to Upper Thousand! You can see Nyoirinji Temple too!! It’s right in front of us! Wow, that’s really nice! Wow~ Beautiful~ Amazing Looking forward to morning and evening too! There’s also a public bath on the first floor♪ All basic amenities were provided!🙏 The welcome sweet was “kuzu mochi”♪ Dinner is served at 18:00 in the main hall♪ Let’s eat!! Delicious!! When Yoshitsune was being pursued by Minamoto no Yoritomo, he supposedly hid here He came to Yoshino! Yes, yes, yes, yes! Yesterday we went to Yoshimizu Shrine where he also hid It’s so big! About 20 minutes on foot🚶♀️ The path has a feeling of ascetic training Cherry blossoms spread across the entire slope! The Deep Thousand cherry blossoms are incredibly beautiful! They really are! I never expected that around Saigyoan there would be so many cherry trees! It’s incredibly beautiful! Open space with cherry trees planted all over and blooming Are they in full bloom? Almost, I think? So beautiful!! Deep Thousand has a more subdued feeling! That’s true! Yesterday’s Lower Thousand to Upper Thousand was quite lively, but Deep Thousand is more subdued! It feels like you can enjoy it quietly! It’s nice!! Saigyoan doesn’t have a door You’re right! It’s completely open!! But there were probably bamboo blinds or something in the past? In the past? Otherwise it would be cold… And it’s totally exposed, plus animals could come in! Haha! A statue of Saigyo is enshrined here The modest appearance of the mountain cherry trees is lovely!! 吉野山の桜はスケールが違いますね。大半がヤマザクラかな？
３万本程の桜を数週間かけて見れるのも良いですよね。

吉野の桜🌸は大混雑を想像して、足が向かないのですが、宿をとって早朝の吉野を愛でるなら良さそうです。同じ関西でも、京都からは遠いですね。 吉水神社からの風景は良いし、神社自体の雰囲気もありますね。金峯山寺が2番目に大きな木造建築という事は知りませんでした😅 奈良県は柿の葉寿司や三輪そうめんが有名ですね。 芳雲館、良い宿ですね。季節は一番良さそう。
吉野の桜は山が桜色🌸に染まり圧巻ですね。そうなんですね三万本の桜が下千本→中千本→上千本→奥千本と下から上にと染まっていき長期間に渡り山が桜色に染まるのですね、奥千本は歴史観あり良かったです。中々関東から吉野には桜見物とはできませんが吉野の桜を堪能しました、また見る場所によって桜の様相が変わり飽きないですね。老舗旅館で何度でも食べたくなると贅沢な時間、羨ましい限りです。桜以外にも吉野の良さを、吉野の歴史的文化を知ることになり、観ていても至福の41分でした😊日本には桜が似合いますね、お疲れ様でした。

吉野の桜は、シロヤマザクラを中心に約200種3万本あり、殆どが葉と花が同時に咲き、長い期間楽しめる最高の桜ですよね!🌸😆👍。吉野は桜を御神木として1300年も保護してきたため、現代の観光客が楽しめるのには感謝・感謝です!🙇🙏。ソメイヨシノの寿命は60〜80年が一般的であり、吉野桜は貴重ですよね!🙋。因みに吉野の杉も日本三大美林に数えられる銘木で、大黒柱等に使われています🏡👏👏👏。奈良は世界遺産の数が日本一（岩手・鹿児島と同数）であり、歴史の重みが違いますよね!😺。今回も吉野の桜🌸を充分満喫させて頂き、ありがとう御座いました!🙇🙏。

これまで2回訪れましたが大好きな想い出の場所です。
初めて吉野を訪れたのは、忘れもしない平成2年の春です。
年初から始まった株の大暴落がその後に続くバブル崩壊の始まりだったとは当時まだ知るよしもなく、言い知れぬ不安と恐怖に苛まれ、束の間の安らぎ求めて吉野の桜を見に行きました。
その時見た山桜の淡い素朴な美しさに心を奪われ、しばし時の経つのを忘れて眺めていると、暗澹たる気持ちが徐々に薄れしばし心の安らぎが得られたことが今でも懐かしく思い出されます。
人の心を癒してくれるところも、いにしえより吉野の桜が多くの日本人の心をとらえて離さない大きな魅力の1つと言えるのでしょうね。
吉水神社にはなるさんも言っていた南北朝時代の後醍醐天皇の御座所が公開されていました。
こんな質素なところだったのかと驚いた記憶があります。なるさん見ましたか？
また、潜伏していた義経が愛妾静御前と別れた場所でもあり、義経が着用した甲冑も展示されていました。
大塔宮護良親王が鎌倉幕府打倒のため挙兵した場所としても知られています。
数々の歴史の舞台にもなった由緒ある場所でなるさんの言うように本当に歴史を感じますね。
葛を食べるなるさんとても幸せそう。

オープニングの霧の立ち込める中、山の一面に咲き乱れる山桜🌸🌸の景色には素晴らしくて圧倒されました👀‼️
秀吉は吉野でも花見をしたんですか、京都での醍醐の花見も有名ですよね🤭
しかし奈良は歴史の宝庫ですね義経の隠れた祠とか南朝の皇居が有ったりとか、知らないことばかりです😂
途中、なるさんが満開だと言ってるのにまささんが満開じゃ有りませんと断定するのを聞いて、まささんって意外と頑固な人なんだなぁーて思いました(笑)🤣

福岡の秋月という町にも宮内庁御用達で老舗の葛専門店が有りますよ✨
翌日は晴れてて奥千本の桜は満開でそれはそれは最高でしたね🤭🎉

山桜は品種改良の桜と違って趣があり、侘び寂びがあっていいですね🌸
旅館も最高ですね
ただ、障子は閉めておいてほしかったと個人的に思いましたぁ☺️
奈良は、3年くらい前に「ナメゴ谷」に紅葉を見に行きました🍁
なかなか珍しい景色でとても綺麗でしたよ
春の🌸のナメゴ谷も行ってみたいけど、まだ行けてません😅

昨日は、高遠城址公園に花見に行って、昼夜、一人お花見して来ました🌸
散りはじめでしたけど綺麗でした

毎日、詳しく歴史などの説明もしていただきとても勉強になります。
吉野桜めちゃくちゃキレイ〜とおっしゃっていましたが、めちゃくちゃと表現がピッタリなくらのいにキレイですよね！膨大な桜の数によりこれほど長い期間で楽しめるところは他にないと思います。
また秋はもみじもめちゃくちゃキレイです。
柿の葉寿司美味しいですよね。
熟成具合によって味変するのもいいです。
さて、最近暑くなってきました。
ぼちぼち上高地の季節ですかね！

この辞世の歌はつとに有名です。
『願わくは 花の下にて 春死なむ その如月の 望月の頃』
この歌の通り桜の下で満月の頃に入滅したことでも知られています。
そして、桜と言って真っ先に思い浮かぶのは、日本人の精神を桜に例えた歌として有名な本居宣長のこの歌です。
『敷島の 大和心を 人問はば 朝日に匂ふ 山桜花』
（大和心とは何かと聞かれたら、朝日に照り輝く山桜の花のようなものだと答える）
美しいこの吉野の桜の風景となるさんにもぴったりだという気がします。
この歌を真似た歌も含め『なる和歌トラベル』吉野編（2以降）を詠んでみました～。🥰

はじめまして😊先日私達夫婦も念願の吉野に行ったので、この動画を観ていたら、なんと同じ日に芳雲館に泊まっていました🎉なので、お二人と同じ景色を楽しんでいます。そういえば、朝散歩に出かけるところをお見かけしたような😊奥千本のバス、あなたたちの前の茶色のジャンパーの夫と青いコートの私が映っていました😃運転手さんが、今日は奥千本が満開だと話してくれて、とても嬉しかったです。
お二人の動画のおかげで、、美味しかった宿の食事も思い出し、今なら残さず食べられるのになぁと思いました😂
お二人もたくさん旅を楽しんでおられるのですね。私達夫婦はリタイア生活に入りましたので、これからますます旅を楽しみます。お二人の動画を参考にさせてもらいますね。
